Customer service was great, honesty on how many hours to fix the part was disloyal. I have friends in the industry to give me dealership hours on how much it should cost. 6 hours was reported on his behalf when I clearly had mention it was 3. Once in person he did mention yeah it would take him 3 hours to fix. He was taking advantage because I was out of town, live in La and needed my car fix. Will always recommend people to get if possible hours from other nearby mechanics. Thanks to his neighbor mechanic down the street was honest and charged the 3 hours.

Updated Review: I received a courtesy call from Sheens regarding my below review, with a request for information on Hondas diagnosis and repair of the electrical door locking problem for their internal review purposes. Once I provided that information they graciously offered to refund the $230 I had paid, which I accepted. Sheens has always been polite and friendly throughout, and this shows they have a strong interest in maintaining good customer relations.Original Review: I took my Honda to them to repair the drivers side door remote locking feature which had stopped working. I was given assurances about the costs of diagnosing the problem, but by the end of the process they replaced an Honda actuator (which could have been unnecessary) with an after market brand, and had been unable to resolve the issue. They then came up with what the local Honda dealer called a not possible scenario, claiming that they had found oil leaking onto wiring in the passenger door side, and asked to spend an additional 4 hours diagnosing the problem at a cost of over $800. We left and took our vehicle to the local Honda dealer, who found the problem in an hour and quickly repaired it at a very reasonable cost. Going to Sheens cost us $230 without achieving a solution to our problem.

Was a pleasant experience from my initial phone call to picking up my car. They were quick, honest, and affordable. Its been a while since my long time mechanic retired and ive finally found my new one. Will be back with any issues.

We have been taking our autos to Sheen’s Auto Care for approximately four years. Visits have primarily been for regular service, but I have asked them about several repairs. They provided reasonable and accurate estimates, performed the work promptly and showed me photos of the work performed. I took my 2013 Chevy Malibu in to Sheen’s to have them diagnose an overheating issue I was experiencing. Sean was very nice and very good at explaining the issues in simple terms for me, someone clueless about cars. I had my thermostat, drive belt, and leak in my coolant system fixed. All parts used were Chevy and the overall price with labor was fair. I will definitely be coming back. Great, friendly, laid back service. Highly recommend!

Although they specialize in foreign cars, I was referred to Sheens after my Chrysler Pacifica was in an accident. What an amazing find! Not only did they perform the necessary engine repairs at 1/2 of other quotes, but to my surprise, they also inspected the engine for other damage and repaired some of the body damage at no cost. Had repairs done to my 1998 Fourunner. The truck has been garaged for most of the past 15 years so it has very low miles on it so I decided to get it fixed up. Great service, excellent communication, considerate of budget. Our first encounter with Sheens, involved them advising us not to pay them $6,000 to fix up a car that had been in an accident because they didn’t think we would be happy with the results (The car had been too badly damaged). We have trusted them ever since (with our Jeep, Subaru, and Audi). Very high-quality work product and ethic.

A couple of weeks ago my car was leaking oil profusely. I also needed a brake job. I called Sheens and they got me in right away even though they are very busy. Because my car was leaking a lot of oil they took my car back to the shop, put it up on the rack and began looking at the issues immediately. There were multiple problems so they gave me a loaner car for free! Later that day Shaun called me to give me an estimate of the cost of the repairs. The estimate was fair and accurate. My car was repaired in a few days and the actual repair bill was exactly the amount of the estimate even though there were a couple of other issues that came up during the repair process. I was very happy with the work that was done. Shaun was very professional, honest, friendly and courteous when explaining what was needed for my car. I have been a customer at Sheens for several years and I will not take my car anywhere else for service. My wife and I have been taking our cars (BMW/Mercedes) to Sheens for quite some time now. They always do exceptional and timely work. My Mercedes was recently in an accident (my fault). Anyway I took my car to an Autobody shop (should have used Sheens) where it was getting fixed for a week. Got it back and had many issues from the repair work they did. Took it back to them since it was covered in my insurance and again had different issues. Finally I called Sheens and they were able to quickly diagnose and fix my car (no more issues) the same day. They are always helpful, honest and will save you money where they can. They even call up weeks after just to confirm that everything is still good to go. For these reasons Sheens will always be my go to for anything car related. They pretty much do it all whether under the hood or in my wifes case, the windows would no longer raise or lower. My experience with Sheens was excellent. My starter suddenly went out. The AAA towed me to Sheens. They immediately diagnosed the problem correctly and fixed it in a timely manner, at a reasonable price. They even took the trouble to show me a model of the part that needed changing and explain why I needed it. I have seen the evidence they are competent and trustworthy. Their facility is very plain. They evidently don t have a huge overhead, and it is reflected in price and service.

I have been going to Sheens since 2007. Over that period of time I have taken in seven different models of cars, new and old, and have always been satisfied with their service. Whether it is routine maintenance or repair the costs have always been fair and Sean really knows cars. From time to time I will go to the dealer to have some maintenance done, usually associated with a recall, but for any problems Sheens is going to be my first call. I went to Sheens Auto because I was having problems with my cars transmission. I had taken it to a dealership and they told me nothing was wrong with my car (Ive had serious problems with this dealership the only reason I took it back is because the part was under warranty). Anyways, I took it to Sheens Auto and explained what was going. They looked at it checked every system. Then showed me what was going on with my car. They told me to take my car back to the dealership and talk to the manager (which got me somewhere). Also, they called me a couple of days later to make sure that I had my problem resolved. They are honest and caring and professional. As long as Im in the San Diego area I will take my vehicle to Sheens Auto.

After several disappointing service appointments at the Volvo dealership I went on a search to find a place to have my Volvo V50 serviced and stumbled upon Sheens. I am so glad I did, not only do they have the computer diagnostic system for Volvo but they are honest and upfront about whats wrong with your vehicle and provide an estimate right away for how much things will cost. They dont try and sell you parts and services you dont need unlike the dealership that told me I needed new brakes right away and that it was unsafe to drive my car. Well when I took it to Sheens for another repair I mentioned to Sean that my brakes needed replacing, he looked at my car and told me that I still had about 60% life on my brakes and could go another 6 months before needing them replaced. What a refreshing change to hear from a mechanic that no you cant wait to have something fixed! I will never take my car anywhere else for service!

Can I give a review higher than Excellent? Pity.The crew at Sheens are top notch. In addition to being skilled mechanics, they are ethical and responsible, and always give you the straight scoop. They are also very frugal with my money, and I have never felt that they do work that isnt totally justified (unlike the feeling you get at some places). On the contrary, they have gone out of their way to help me make the right decisions and save money.I have recommended Sheens to several of my friends, and would heartily endorse them to anyone. This is the only place I will take my cars from here on out (I have two Fords). My wife has had negative experiences with nearly every mechanic shes ever encountered. She took her car here by chance (because of a AAA tow) and immediately felt comfortable with Sean and how he goes about business. We both appreciate his expertise (he fixed issues on my car that 3 other mechanics could not) and his ability to communicate the issue when we dont know much about cars. I originally came to Sheens Auto Care about a year ago to get a quote on a spark plug service for my Acura RDX. I used to go to the dealer down the street but after they quoted me almost $1,000.00 for spark plugs I decided to seek other locations. Since Sheens Auto came up so highly reviewed, and they were close by to my old dealers location, I decided to give them a try and Im so happy I did! They quoted me 80% LESS THAN THE DEALER! I was shocked. Their prices were not only better but their service was fantastic! They were so helpful and responsive and answered all of my questions. Honest, affordable, awesome car care in SD! I had sensor issues with my BMW (I am sure most bmer owners know these can get costly at the dealer), Sheens auto had original BMW diagnostic computer and found the solution at fraction of what the dealer would have costed me. Fast, clean, spot on service. I am a life time customer now. I also found out the owner recently donated a car to a poor mother w/ 2 autistic children so she could drive them to hospital. Class act.

Sheens in San Diego is a solid, and reputable auto shop. I took my Toyota Camry in a couple of weeks ago and the mechanics found my axles were in a dangerous condition, and in the verge of snapping due to the wear. The car is 20 years old and would have left me stranded on the road.I also have a Mercedes, and Hyundai Sonata, and Sheens takes care of them too. In the 14 years Ive owned Nissan Maxima, and another SL convertible, I came to Sheens. Ive gotten to know the owner Tom, Manager-Sean, and the mechanics quite well. I trust them and they find the best, most direct way to fix anything. Sean often finds parts at a lower cost and finds way to save me money on repairs.I am a life long customers.

This is an outstanding auto shop. We came to Sheens several years ago after we had a problem where our car would sometimes fail to start. Once the car warmed up, it would start fine, but after leaving it cold overnight, it would often fail to start. We took our car to the Toyota dealership, and they simply said that the car started fine when they went to check, and then they recommended a lot of expensive servicing that proved unnecessary and didnt fix the problem. Afterwards we came to Sheens, and they diagnosed the problem instantly. Problem solved. We have been coming back to Sheens ever since.A sign of a truly good auto shop is where they will do what is best for you, be honest, and not try to upsell you on things that you do not need. You get all of that from Sheens, they do not try to sell you on expensive services, and they watch out for your interests. I recommend Sheens highly to all my family and friends.

Since the early 1990s SHEENS AUTO CARE has repaired my cars affordably, and the repairs have always lasted. SHEENS AUTO CARE is clearly superior to my previous, highly rated mechanic {Import Auto of El Cajon}. I recommend SHEENS AUTO CARE anytime I talk about car problems with friends and acquaintances {and they have been satisfied}. Tom Shin, the owner, has one of the best businesses in San Diego! You will probably see Sean, who does superlative work at the desk; hes clearly there to assist you. Recently I had extensive body work with SHEENS AUTO CARE for the first time, and the results were amazing {previous body work at other shops was mediocre at best}. I will continue to visit SHEENS AUTO CARE every five thousand miles for my oil change {and perhaps more often}. I recommend this business very enthusiastically.

Sheens is the Premier Auto Repair Shop and is superb in all areas of repari, customer service excellence, timiing-THey are wonderful and give very competitve pricing. My collegue had been going to them over 30 years when she recommended me to them as I was new in the area. I have had outstanding repair and maintenance from Sheens.
