They do not follow up with you after your appointments I had a few teeth removed over a month ago and still havent heard from my surgeon. My smiles not the best but after going through with this procedure I feel worse . I went to 2 separate people and both ended with the same result. COMMUNICATION IS KEY ....

I haven’t seen a dentist since I was a kid bc of bad experiences. I have a huge, huge fear of needles, Dr. Espino was so amazing, he helped me with my anxiety and he was gentle and he explained everything that he was doing so I wouldn’t panic. I felt absolutely nothing, I’m so ashamed that I took so long to see a dentist, but not any more! I highly recommend Dr. Espino, you won’t regret making an appointment. I hope this helps anyone with high anxiety or fear.

I decided to go to this dental office because it was closer to my home then the previous one I use to go for my dental needs. I had no information about this dental office from anyone, so I was reluctant. It was one of the best decision . The office was sparking clean with top of the line medical equipment. New to the area and discovered this gem of a location by sheer luck. Walked up knocked on the door and was greeted by one of the nicest and welcoming staff I have encountered in a really long time. Very refreshing to be honest. Making an appointment was very easy and they accommodated four new patients all in one afternoon so I wouldn’t have to schedule multiple days. The day of the appointments was very easy and pain free. Four patients in and out with three hours with all of us requiring xrays, cleaning, and one patient requiring extra attention. I would highly recommend this service to anyone searching for a friendly and professional dentist.

Worst service I have had because Im still in pain

I’m a new patient at the clinic and my first visit last Tuesday, 6/9/20 was great. Dr. Espino introduced himself to me and took the time to know what my concerns are and what my dental history is. Jasmine was really nice and took her time assisting me.Second visit for a complimentary consult for braces happened today, Thursday 6/11/20 at 11AM. I arrived 10:50AM to get signed in. They made me wait 45 minutes before getting assistance with no explanation and apologies because they’re backed up. FD ladies just kept chit-chatting and one patient had to ask them how much longer past her scheduled time will she have to wait as she needs to go to work. Suddenly, a lady took my X-ray and I had to tell her that I already had one taken last Tuesday. She also asked why I’m coming in today (she didn’t read my chart and the paper that I signed up to get checked in as it asks patient the reason for ‘today’s visit). She made me wait another 20 minutes for the specialist to see me where she only took 10-15 minutes to see and plan my treatment. There was no sense of urgency.I understand business can be very busy however they schedule patients at a certain time for a reason. It would’ve been better if they at least told us to be extra patient as we will have to wait longer than our scheduled time to be seen by the Dentist.

All of the people here are so kind and understanding. I went in with a horrible fear and embarrassment of the dentist because of past problems, but everyone was super sweet. I saw Dr.Nguyen and she made my teeth look amazing, she took the time to tell me what she was doing, made sure I was comfortable the entire time, and distracted me with some super interesting conversations. I was not looking forward to going in but now I really can’t wait to go back. Thank you so much to everyone who works here!

I started going to this place off of de za vala rd since I was 31 years old when the practice belonged to Dr. Jolly and now it belongs to Dr. Espino under the name of Republic Dental & Orthodontist. I have had very good Doctors that do the job right and if for some reason you feel that something is not right they will continue to help with what ever the issue is. They stand behind the work that they do for all their patients! They treat you with respect and kindness. There is one thing that Im dealing with and they are helping me by recommending me to a specialist or to have my tooth pulled out and giving me a implant of a tooth. I need to research and think of what I need to do for myself. Its nice to know that at least I have an option. DrEspino and his staff are very nice and genuine about the work they do on your smile!

This place was so nice as I walked in with my daughter, we were greeted, offers coffee, and my daughter got a bottled water, with a snack for latter, ok my daughter is 16teen, was very nervous, but all went so well, they amazed me on how nice and caring they are!we love them,for just doing an awesome job.

Republic has a sign posted for a $69 x-ray, exam, and cleaning for new patients. They charged me that plus another $85. I consider them unethical and will never return.

Great experience! Very friendly staff. Greeted by Valerie with a warm smile. Stephanie was my hygienist. She was easy to talk to, nonjudgmental and very gentle. Everyone I interacted with told me what was going to happen and Valerie covered my benefits with me. Dr. Espino spent about 10 minutes with me before my appointment. He tried to find out a bit about me personally and put me at ease for the appointment. Definitely glad I chose this office...even got a goodie bag at the end of the visit.

But the staff was great, the doctor was knowledgeable, and they were very good about getting feedback during the procedures to make sure I was comfortable. I visited this dentist today for a standard clean up. After all the Xray and assessment they insisted on a deep tissue cleaning which basically destroys your natural teeth formation. When I requested standard cleaning they denied this service. Basically bulling customers to pay for premium cleaning service that is not required. I would not recommend this dentist !

Hands down the best dental practice in all of San Antonio. As soon as you walk in, the staff already knows who you are and greets you by name. You wait almost no time at all to get admitted and have your dental work performed in a swift and timely manner. I now get my cleanings scheduled here every 6 months and I enjoy the honest critical and constructive feedback given by my hygienist on what best practices to follow for my oral and overall health. I’m also glad they are now open Saturdays, meaning no need to take time off of work!Don’t think twice if you live in the area and are looking for a dentist and orthodontist practice that will keep you smiling, not just with happy and healthy teeth, but also because of the utmost attention to detail and customer satisfaction.

I came to that place because I read good reviews but unfortunately it was my worst experience Ive ever had. First they did root canal cleaning but I still had pain after and Dr Espino told me go find another doctor b/c we cannot help you at our place. If I retreat that tooth I should pay cash now and no guarantees b/c they it looks good now on CT. But I still feel pain sometimes. Then Dr Espino installed the crown but it was too big and I had gum inflammation so he ordered a new one. After the installation of a new one I wasnt able to eat because its too big again. I was told that now I should pay 1.5k cash for the new crown if I want to come to remove it or do any other work. I was told that Dr Espino has some issues with me because I wasnt wearing temporary crown for a month because of COVID. I was trying to reach the office 5 times now but they just say we will call you back and they just ignore me. In the end of the story me and my insurance paid decent amount of money and I spent lots of my time and I still experience pain sometimes and I should order new crown. I hope Dr Espino is reading this and will answer what kinda issues he has with me and why he ignores his patients when they need doctors help.

I have been going to this location for almost 2 years after staying away from the dentist for over a decade. Not going to a dentist for that long of course caused many issues only furthering my irrational fear of the dentist. The staff here from day one has not only made me feel comfortable they have never made me feel silly for having fears. They are always patient and understanding and truly caring. Sandra and Steve are hands down my favorite nurses. They answer all my questions which are a lot. They tell me what they are doing. They share stories which really helps ease the nerves and they educate me! The front desk staff is always kind and smiling and they are extremely helpful! Dr Sanchez is very good. He isn’t rushing you to get to the next patient. He actually sits and talks over any concerns. Yet he is quick with his work but very gentle. My fear is still very much active but I keep going back to them because I feel safe and I know everyone they truly care for the patients. Glad I found them and very thankful to them all for helping make my teeth healthy again!!!

They saw me quickly, I didn’t have to wait around at all, which was great because I was on a tight schedule. They did everything they could to explain the process to me as it was going on answered all my questions, and really went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. I would highly recommend this dentist office. They even followed up with me that afternoon and the following day to make sure I was not in pain, and that I was adjusting to the temp cap.. Needed a root canal and they immediately accommodated me; from check-in to check-out everything was smooth and seamless. I was initially greeted by Steve Z. who took care of me on both my visits; he is very personable, kind and patient. Dr. Espino gave me the first diagnosis and recommended a root canal - they explained everything but were not pushy. My second visit Steve was there again to help and assisted Dr. Sanchez with the root canal. The entire staff (including the young lady at the reception) are kind, caring and just wonderful. I would definitely recommend this location and the staff there. Additionally, the prices were surprisingly low - so my wallet is happy too ;)
