The office is the worst part. Continually harassing for a renewal that is not yet due. I feel like they are forcing me into signing to ensure that I stay another year but honestly I dont know if their company is worth the time or money paid for every single thing they do. They charge for EVERYTHING! $100 charge to rewrite the lease for another year? $300 charge if you dont let them inspect the house, which I have no problem with but that sounds ridiculous to me... Maybe really do some research about this company before you sign.

Major communication breakdowns came at the end of our working relationship. Such as tenants moving out 2 weeks prior to months end and failing to notify me so that i could prep the property for sale. They never did notify me, i called at the end of the month and found out. Then they followed that up with failing to follow thru with their hired subcontractor for more than 2 weeks. I then gave them 1 more week to accomplish the tasks and although Rentwerx told me they had completed the repairs, my agent told me they hadnt started. The manager or person i was mostly communicating with, Cristina would not return my phone calls and sporadically return an email during this stressful time. I had to fire the company. Up until this point i would have given them 4 stars. I am estimating that their failure at the end cost me approximately $1500. I expected better. I have a new property in San Antonio and i will not be utilizing their services again.I would like to add that on a positive note, i did not experience false repairs with this company. They seemed to be on the up and up regarding these sort of items.

In the service industry there are 3 types of customer service care. There is transaction based, client customer service based and hospitality based. One treats you like a number the other treat you like a person. It is true that RentWerx is simple. They collect the money, with additional fees, and transfer it from the tenant to the homeowner. That is about as far as their management goes. If something is wrong or a mistake on the owner statement, do not expect a phone call or any type of proactive communication. Youll be the one who has to reach out for clarity.Their methods for being a service industry are mediocre at best. Their internal and external communication is subpar. They also have an issue with employee retention as my account alone has had a high turnover of account managers. The first 3 years they did ok but there has been a shift in RentWerx that has caused the quality to drop this past year. After 4 years as a transaction client, Ill be soliciting other property management companies to take on the account.

Rentwerx has been great at managing my rental property. I live out of state and they made the stress of renting out a home from afar as stress-free as possible. They are quick to rectify any maintenance issues that my tenant has with the home. Alex has been my point man and has been very responsive, which is what you want in a property management company.

I called Rentwerx on a Sunday afternoon not really expecting to have anyone answer. I was pleasantly surprised when Josh answered. He took the time to make sure all of my questions were answered and also was able to transfer our application from a previous home we had applied for (but weren’t chosen for) to another home we were interested in. The process was very seamless and so glad that we didn’t have to submit another application fee or go through the screening process again. Josh was very professional and helpful. We moved into a property that was rented out by Rentwerx. We used their online portal to report repairs that need to be made on a regular basis. Response time and quality of the repairs was not very good. When moving into the home it reeked of urine and the carpet was incredibly dirty. We attempted to clean the carpet when moving in to no avail. We provided pictures documenting the nasty carpet and requested that it be replaced or cleaned on their portal. Rentwerx informed us that they would not replace nor clean the carpet and it would remain “as is.” We tried so hard to clean it and vacuum it all the time. We then moved out and now Rentwerx to wants to charge us for “dirty” carpet. They are trying to charge us $1300+!!! No invoice, receipt, or proof of the cost has been provided either. Additionally, they refuse to communicate about the issue and send us a document to fill out so that they are able to “review” it. What a SCAM!!! Additionally my bank account will be charged by SEP 15 since they locked me into a private online company that arranged the deposit. I am unable to stop the $1300+ charge.This is extremely unprofessional and a HUGE SCAM!!! Do not rent a property managed by Rentwerx or use them to rent out your property!!!

The people are so nice and respectful, very helpful every time you call. They are really patient and concerned about how thing are going forward for you. I liked everyone I spoke with. Would recommend them to other people for sure. Great overall assistance.

I rent a house with this company, for 15 mounts, We keep the house clean, no broken parts etc. We keep the house like we received. After moving We had to wait 30 days for received our deposit for $1,770 so what? They over charge me for: grass cut, changed the AC filter and clean carpets total? 1,270.. so they make a lot the efforts to keep your money no matter what.I DON’T recommend this rent company.

Online application is simple and straight to the point. Email instructions provided were detailed and aided understanding with highlights on key points. Team was responsive and made recommendations for outside resources if required.

I dont usually leave poor reviews. But.. I am at my wits end. We purchased a property from a landlord who used this company. (It was a rental) We coordinated window repair as part of the agreement and someone did a HORRIBLE intial job.The person who did it essentially removed the broken piece of glass and glued the non broken piece into the window frame. The room is hot, unsafe (easily broken in to) and bugs are getting into the room.I didnt catch it during the final walkthrough, but when my husband came through he showed me that it was less than acceptable. Rent werx maintenance was supposed to come out and fix this issue. Its been almost two months and we have been jerked around so much. Lots of cancelling and rescheduling. No one answering and picking up when we try to reach out and complain.I feel that the only way we will get a response is if I leave a poor review.***Review is edited to reflect that we did eventually receive a $350 credit for the window, but this was not enough to cover a total window replacement.***

I have never in my life worked with a less responsive, less transparent company than RentWerx. No one would respond to any of my calls. The showing of the property we were interested in was all automated so I never had the opportunity to speak to a person about the process. We submitted the $150 application fee, were told something was missing from our application and if we didn’t provide it within 24 hours we risked losing the property. I called and spoke to someone (he wouldn’t connect me with the leasing coordinator) and he assured me that it just had to go through a final approval by the owners and then it would be ours. He made no disclosure that the owners would be given several applications to choose from. So we declined several other houses thinking we had this one only to find out (after I called to confirm-STILL no one had reached out to us!!!) that the owners chose another applicant. It’s probably for the best because of the amount of hoops they make you jump through to rent a home is insane. And the amount of security deposit!! We would have had to pay over $7000 or $45/month fee. Awful AWFUL company.

Very disappointed in how things ended with RentWerx. I was a tenant for 2 years and paid on time, every time. Everything was fine until we had to move. Response was slow from them and then we received a bill of almost $1000 for cleaning the property after we moved out. What’s amazing is that I hired a cleaning service and even filled in any nail holes as well as did some touch up painting. The house was in better condition when we left than when we moved in. I took over 50 pics because I was worried this would happen. The only way to fight it is to take them to court and it’s not worth it to go through all the hassle as well as hiring an attorney. They’ve got a real nice set up. Stick it to you just enough to make some money but not so much that you put up a fight. Beware if you plan to rent from them.

I am a former tenant and I will never rent from these people again. They charged me for removing a window….. the window was actually the glass part of a screen door so if you wanted to take the screen out you would put the glass in. They charged me for repairs of things that were issues before I moved in, but because they took over the management from another company they would not know that. They need to replace the carpets, and I got charged for a carpet cleaning fee. Totally not great with tenant relations.

I CAN NOT express how Disappointing, Unprofessional, Non responsive, Rentwerx and staff is. From not reading emails, being asked the same question 3x, to NOT honoring the 21-day guarantee and NOT waiving the management fees as advertised, taking over a month to make the property ready, Owner account statement mess ups, not following through, and etc. I have been with them since it was Brad Larsen properties but unfortunately the company is not the same and in my opinion has gone downhill. This is not my first complaint, nor my second, and unfortunately nothing gets done except were sorry please give us a call and it gets routed back to my team which again nothing gets done and ends there, instead it really should go to a manager or the managers superior. -- Frustrated Landlord

Takes almost a month between tenants for getting the home ready which means you lose 1 month of rent. Any home related work quotes are pretty high and they charge their own fee on top of that.

Warning....DECEITFUL APPLICATION PROCESS!! I applied for a rental property, & I was pretty sure I was the first one. The application fee is $75, which is higher than normal. A few days later, I received a notice stating that I did not get the property. Please see image below: So apparently multiple applications were taken for the same property, & the owner chose someone else? I called them for an explanation & was initially told that I wouldnt be getting my $75 application fee back because they ran my report. That was a lie because I checked all three credit reporting bureaus, & no report was ever submitted. I wait a few weeks & check again, & still no reports from rentwerx. I called today & was given the same answer as to why I wasnt receiving a refund; because I was screened on that application, so that makes it non-refundable. What a bunch of horse $#!+

Strongly encourage staying far away from this company unless you enjoy having a property management who care nothing about the tenant except for how much money they can get from them. Most management companies charge a 10% fee to homeowners to manage their property. RentWerx gets all of the clientele that they have by charging a set $90. Can you guess where they make up those funds? That’s right, by charging every conceivable fee they can to the tenant.In conclusion, stay away....or....choose to be micro managed, have no freedom in the home, not be taken care of if something goes wrong, charged for every last thing they can charge you for, and have a management company that will never put your needs as priority.

I am very fortunate to have connected with Ruby Rowan. I own 2 homes in San Antonio and live out of the area. I was having some issues renting one of my homes and within a month of connecting with Ruby I was able to Rent it. I decided to transfer my other property to RentWerx and the previous tenants did not take care of the home nor did the management office complete the required inspections, Ruby quickly assisted in inspecting the home sent photos, videos, networked with contractors, sent recommendation on what to do with the property.
