Highly recommend! Nameer is an insightful instructor with a wealth of knowledge and a great deal of experience. The classes are intense but highly enjoyable. This is the way it should be. Once you clear the first couple of weeks working of fundamentals, you learn the form quickly.
Became a student of Sifu Nameer after floundering for years and trying to find an authentic Tai Chi teacher. have been his student for nearly ten years. His Tai Chi lineage is Yang-style, Long Form. He feeds and extends its impact through Sword Form and Fajing (sic), etc. The personal benefit that I have derived is summarized: prepared for retirement from a stressful career, greatly assisted in lowering my blood pressure, enhanced my confidence through the martial applications and has become a key influence affecting all other aspects of my life - including posture while playing a musical instrument and balance and control riding a motorcycle. Not to be discounted, a lesser included yet essential benefit was balance and conditioning in preparation for full knee replacement surgery - recovery was accelerated: at three weeks, I was at the five week rehab mark; at seven weeks, I had attained recovery usually measured at twelve weeks; I I exited rehab several weeks ahead of the usual paradigm. Come join us!
He is very knowledgeable in the art of Tia Chi I have learn a lot on my last 4 month from him. I went there for my health . I had bad knees and they have improve .
I have been practicing at Good Spirit since 2007. I really like the one-on-one attention, that everyone progresses at their own pace, and there is always room for evolution of new ways of learning. Since I started, Sifu Nameer has instituted the fundamentals section of the class, as well as sword form, staff practice, and most recently a short form using fa jin, the explosive energy more often seen in Chen style tai chi. He has also purchased mats for us to practice tai chi applications including take-downs and throws, which emphasize the martial aspects, not just the health benefits. All this helps keep the class interesting and engaging. The eclectic collection of students of all ages helps as well.
Ive been a student of Nameers for just over a year now, and I cant recommend his tutelage highly enough. He is a 7th generation Yang style master from the Montreal/Atlanta school (Yang Lu-ch’an > Yang Jianhou > Yang Ch’eng-fu > Chen Wei Ming > Lee Shiu-pak > Herb Goldberg > Nameer Kirma) who is absolutely committed to passing on the authentic martial art and philosophy of the style. The core form taught is the Yang long form, with sword form for advanced students.Classes are small, informal, and strenuous, especially for beginners. There is no permanent dojo, so scheduling can be inconsistent. He runs a very supportive environment with minimal egos and plenty of fun.
