As a newcomer I was pretty nervous for my first class. Everybody was super friendly and instantly made me feel right at home. It’s an amazing gym where everyone genuinely cares about your growth. The coaches are humble, knowledgeable, and very patient. Joining this gym has been one of the best decisions I’ve made.

Really enjoyed this gym. Coach Rey is always trying new things, which to me shows a desire to be successful. I also really enjoyed the environment the coaches had created. Coach Teejay and Steven are both positive role models with a ton of insight to offer. 10/10 would recommend trying their 3 day trial.

I’ve been searching for a organized gym just like this for 3 years! These coaches take every athletes aspirations very seriously. I’m excited to be here and see where we can go as a team. Not sure what kind of person is running this “business”. The place reeks of dried sweat and used socks hidden away for years. Professionalism & courtesy….not at this place. Posted hours on door said open at 3…I was there at 3:35 pm…door was locked After banging on door for 5 min. some guy working out who was dripping with sweat answers I have to yell over the music blasting that I want to buy a membership. He says…only person can do that not here…be here in about 20 mins. NOT, I’m sorry sir but….I would call this a Rocky gym but that would be to high of a rating.

I recently completed my free-trial of Dominion MMA and on day 1 I was already prepared to join as a member in good standing. The Coaches there are highly professional and courteous, and you have the opportunity to work on everything from kickboxing to wrestling to BJJ, the bread and butter of mixed martial arts. The one thing that really stood out to me, and was really one of the main factors that helped me decide to sign on was one announcement a Coach made to his class, We are a professional fighting gym, we train professionals, then he went on to announce a couple of events that fighters from this school would be competing in.If youre trying to set up your own personal schedule for the week, Dominion MMA does have an app you can download to your Android or iPhone (Im a tech nerd myself, so of course that would be a plus for me) and it lists all of the upcoming classes so that you can choose the time and date you will be training.Another, and probably most crucial for many who are into the sport more for fitness than competition, aspect is the absence of contracts. Currently, I pay a monthly fee that is about average for the sport this gym trains. They have 3-month and annual options as well with commensurate discounted rates, but for someone like me who is likely to travel on any given month, it is simply impossible for me to sign a contract somewhere that I dont know Ill be at permanently for the whole year. This gives me a certain peace of mind that is not likely at other places. Overall, I cannot recommend this place highly enough, and look forward to continuing to train here for the long-haul!

We were underwhelmed by the childrens program when our daughter attended. Inappropriate music played too loudly during class, cursing, etc. Thats fine for adults, but not a great environment for kids. We were planning to make a change anyway, but wound up moving out of state. This was August of 2019. I just hung up with my bank to make my 4th credit card dispute in the last 2 years for membership dues being charged to my account. We tried initially to deal with the gym directly. We were told the dispute wouldnt be argued, and it wasnt. Same thing the second time. I stopped calling Dominion after that. None of them have been argued. SO WHY CANT THEY MAKE THEM STOP?? Because I believe theyre hoping I wont notice. SHADY business. If you dont want a lifetime membership, dont sign up. I have worked in a wholesale/retail environment for 30 years. NEVER has a company Ive worked for been unable to stop a charge. REMOVE MY INFORMATION FROM YOUR RECORDS. Because I dont know how to reply to the owner, Im editing my post. I did not WAIT 2 years to post a negative review. I am posting after 2 years of STILL being charged!! Read again what I wrote. Since I was writing the review, I threw in a valid opinion specifically regarding the kids program. I said the adult was fine. I just had to dispute a new charge again YESTERDAY, so your note about an old billing company is bogus. And you dont just call once then wipe your hands of it. Its YOUR business. Be responsible and follow up. MAKE IT STOP and people wont be compelled to write a review. Also, Im not the first one. I found another review from 4 years ago saying watch your credit card. You gave the same lame answer about a previous billing company. And, for the record (see my initial post) I did give you credit for not arguing the dispute, but dont throw in there that you paid the fee. I never owed it. Its on you. If you dont want to pay it, again, FIX THE PROBLEM.

This is the best place to train for many reasons, since joining about a year ago it has helped me improve not only physically but mentally. I never played sports as a kid but Im making up for it as an Adult cause this is even more fun.

I’ve been a member of a BJJ/MMA gym at several locations across Central Texas and Knoxville, TN. Dominion is by far my favorite. The attention to detail, the push to become better than you were yesterday, and family ideals, are key attributes to the culture here. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone looking fight in the cage, learn self defense, or just mix up your fitness a bit. Dominion is a place to call home.

The absolute best gym in TEXAS.There’s no other gym I’d rather train at than at DOMINION MMA.They teach discipline and show you respect. At DOMINION MMA your not just another body to beat up. Before I even get into the review, if you are reading this and you are even slightly interested in taking up martial arts/self-defense classes for yourself or your kiddos, Just know that they truly honor the 3-day free trial and they never pressure you to sign-up or judge you, or try to get your credit card info and start talking about money, Coach Rey and his staff are the kindest people and they are only interested in helping you become a better version of yourself.Now for the actual review:I have no doubt in my heart that this Gym is the best MMA gym in Texas, the talent pool, lineage, and Network includes fighters from The UFC, Bellator, LFA, Combate Americas, etc.Out of all the MMA gyms Ive visited/trained at all across the country since I was 15 years old (29 now - including the gyms on Marine Corps bases when I was in the service), this gym is literally by far the most wholesome, professional, and hands-down has the BEST CULTURE (which is incredibly important if you are a fighter or you have your kids/loved ones training there). From the Cleanliness, the Coaching Staff, and the students, this is a gym where you can truly feel comfortable to work on yourself whether its climbing the Jiu-jitsu belt rankings, Muay Thai, Boxing, and other disciplines for up-and-coming fighters and the best thing about it is that they actually care about you and you are not just another number.

Staff is great and very friendly!! The gym is exactly where you would want to train. Everyone has been so polite and welcoming its easy to fit right in.The atmosphere is incredible, the music is motivating.

Place was way too small for the amount of people training in the facility. The morning classes had a good amount of people were your training was accounted for. However, the night time muy thai classes seemed unstructured and too packed. As a beginner there was no effort made to ensure that I was able to even defend myself against some of the more experienced fighters before sparring against them. Again most of the issues I have with this place stem for the night time muy thai classes and I would strongly recommend against this place if that’s the only time you have available to attend.

Training at this gym has increased my skills as a marital artist more than I couldve ever imagined. Not only do the coaches take the time to develop each members fundamentals, but they also create an atmosphere that allows you to express your own style and grow as an individual. I have spent time at 3 other MMA gyms, and Dominion is by far my favorite. From day 1, the people make you feel welcome, and you hit the ground running. Great place for people to learn self defense. I have been taking my 8 year old son, cant wait to take my other other son too, unfortunately he is too young still. Started training here around 2 months ago and I quickly knew this was the best gym in San Antonio. I did the free 3 day trial, and was treated just like every other student. There is a lot of knowledge and experience throughout this gym. Ive attended classes done by every coach and I can confidently say youre going to get well taught, professional and challenging classes no matter what time of day you go. What I like about this gym is that it has that family vibe to it. Everyone is friendly. All coaches are excellent. They don’t bs you they give you straight facts, they definitely will get you where you need to be. Just gotta show up to class everyday and you gotta be vocal with them. The workouts are very intense,fun, and well structured. And no fees or contracts to sign up can’t beat that!!!

Since I’ve joined a couple weeks back, I’ve learned way more in 3 1/2 weeks with Robert Longoria than I have with my previous Muay Thai instructors during my 1 1/2 year duration at another gym in Texas. Waited a month to post this because I wanted to give a full and honest opinion.Being that I’ve never trained in a martial art in my life, I was a little hesitant and intimidated to come to this place. But as soon as I walked in for the first time they made me feel welcome and like I had been going there for years. I like the professionalism and no BS attitude of the coaches they are all super knowledgeable and a blast to work with. To top that off I haven’t ever had a bad experience with either the other gym goers or the coaches they are all super inviting and very transparent. Good little gym. The owner coach Rey is a personable good guy and his BJJ classes seem really good. The striking classes are a little hectic. My first week I was sparring people with no headgear who compete without ever even being shown how to punch or if my stance was correct. It seems like too much is always going on and needs more structure and organization. First couple of classes was random spin kicks and aggressive sparring with no head gear. Not good. It seems like everyone who has been there for a while enjoys it but as someone who was new it was weird.

I am a 47 year old mom, wife, and Emmy Award winning television director. I practiced Muay Thai for 1 1/2 years in Alaska, and it had become a passion of mine. I have had to use some Jiu Jitsu that Coach Rey and Coach Angel taught in a real life scenario and trust me when I say that it does work. If I had not learn Jiu Jitsu it would have been way worse for me.

Im one of those crazy martial artists that always has their GI and pads in their trunk when they travel. However, Im pretty picky about where I train and value my time. Ive trained at many gyms over the last 20 years and look for the family atmosphere thats also raising warriors. Coach Rey and his team definitely have that. Their experience is obvious in both the sport AND coaching. They will always expect a lot out of you, but they also truly invest in you each and every class! I also get pretty ecstatic when a gym has the whole gamut; their BJJ is just as solid as their Muay Thai. Thankful I get to stick around for a couple more weeks!

I highly recommend Dominion MMA at San Antonio, TX. It was my first time trying BJJ/Wrestling. I must say that it was a humbling experience to know that a person can lose so many times in the span of 6 minutes, yet walk away like a winner. This is only possible because of the environment I was in. Coach Rey, Coach Tito, Coach Antonio, Coach Joel, and the strong-hearted students who attend the classes consistently are owed a giant token of gratitude. The Dominion MMA made my 4 year old son feel like family! With the free 3 sessions I can make sure this is something my son wants to do before any payments and of course my son loves it. They also made my husband feel very welcomed. Absolutely a great place for the kids to learn to protect themselves from bullies.

The atmosphere of the gym I liking it to a family. Everyone gets along and we hold each other accountable to take care of one another to make sure we are all improving. Coach Rey being the father figure, wanting the best of us and pushing us past where we think we are capable of. I started training here some time ago, and couldnt be more pleased with my decision. The gym is clean, and the atmosphere is friendly and supportive; there is some form of training going on at nearly all hours of the day, and the instruction is top notch. I am positive that this is a great atmosphere for those that workout here. My experience with them was less than satisfactory. The website advertised a program for the children and I wanted to get my daughter in the program as I am familiar with Muay Thai and its benefits due to my training with Phet for a couple of years before my little one was born. Given that we were relatively new to the area following my retirement from the military I wanted to find the perfect place to begin roots for the entire family. This location is extremely close to our house and on the worst of days I could walk my daughter to her classes.At that time the website didnt have specifics about the childrens programs and I had a few questions. I emailed. I called. I visited. I even texted a phone number given to me from one of the trainers... all of this to no avail. I was courteous. I was patient. I was persistent. Nothing. The response I got was always someone will contact you... Those that I dealt with were very courteous however, in every encounter I was told that I would be given the information I was seeking.I will not bad mouth this business and say that they are rude because that would be a lie. This review is not personal, nor do I wish any ill towards the business nor its employees. I respect what they stand for and wish them nothing but the best. My experience was a negative one and therefore I am writing a negative review. All honest and fair.Great location, clean facilities, and they seemed welcoming. My disappointment is in the fact that there was no closing of the circle.We ended up with another program and my little one is now a blue belt in Okinawan Karate. Not my first choice but she loves it and is very happy.

This is a family of phenomenal martial artists and expert coaches. They love what they do and it shows.

Ive been at Dominion for about month and I love it! It has already become a second home for me. The coaches are all so knowledable and go out of the way to help you understand the training. If you are ever struggling they are always willing to help you learn. If you want a place that really cares about the students, come train at Dominion.

Dominion MMA is a one of a kind. Ive been to a few Mixed Martial Arts academies around San Antonio and Boerne, but Dominion is like no other. We are a family at Dominion MMA. One big badass family. I recommend Dominion to anyone who is even thinking about getting into any kind of martial Arts.

I train Jiu-Jitsu at Dominion MMA. My coaches are very knowledgeable and technical when it comes to technique.. This is very important when training Jiu-Jitsu because the devil is in the details.
