The facility is large, clean and has plenty of up to date equipment. Yet it is the staff that makes or breaks any business. From the front door staff who greet you at the entrance to the trainers, like my youngish Gabriel Alayli who is knowledgeable and supportive, I award LIFETIME FITNESS a hearty 5 stars!
Absolutely love this gym. I had an appointment with Emily for a pedicure this morning. Best pedicure I’ve had. She’s so fun to talk to and is such a sweetie. I can’t wait to come see her again.
I was very surprised by the lack of professionalism and ignorance of policies and pricing by the front desk. I walked in today to sign up for a membership. I asked about group membership and the guy at the front desk was extremely confused on pricing and policy. He stated he’d direct me to someone who could help sign me up, but I’d have to wait. After ten minutes of waiting, I asked if I could play basketball while waiting. He said no problem. Two minutes later, he jogged into the basketball court to tell me that I could not play and I’d have to wait for someone to help me. After twenty minutes of waiting, I asked for the bathroom, proceeded to walk in that direction and he jogged behind me shortly after into the locker room to inform me that I couldn’t play basketball (again), and that someone could speak to me. The front desk was extremely confused about policies and pricing. He was much more concerned with having me wait for 25 minutes to earn my business than getting someone to help me and find out pricing.
Ive been a member at lifetime at the Rim since before the pandemic. And they have been wonderful in setting everything up for the return to a normal feeling. My reactivation to the gym was very seemless with great communication and exceptional service. Working with Ian the accounts manager was a phenomenal experience! He helped set everything up the way it was and we are back to working out again like we were in the past. If you are ever looking to set up a membership or this gym has a great staff with awesome amenities!
All toilets still aren’t flushing for over 2 hours, front desk doesn’t bother to tell anyone! They weren’t even aware there are no courtesy phones in lockers anymore. Real smart
This is the fanciest gym Ive ever been to. Lots of options for everyone.
I went in today with my boyfriend to do a free trial and we loved the facility! The guy working at the front checking people in had a horrible attitude; he was practically rolling his eyes as he spoke with us and current members. However, Ian, the account manager, made the entire trip and tour worth it. He was so energetic and personable throughout the entire experience! My boyfriend and I work at a gym so we understand exactly what the process is like when you get new people coming in expressing interest and he really hit it out of the park! We need more people like Ian working in customer service!
Critical: Communication, Professionalism, QualityI have been a member of Lifetime Fitness for over 10 years, and I work out every day. I am in a wheel chair and have always appreciated the equipment they have that caters to my health and wellness. Recently I was accused of acting as a personal trainer within the gym, by a gym representative. I have never operated as freelance trainer, nor have I ever had a desire to act as a trainer. I work out as a matter of function, and to maintain my wellbeing given my condition. I was approached by management and my membership was revoked without any notice, and without cause. I was accosted by the Manager in the gym lobby, and completely humiliated in front of the entire gym.Josh Ford
I came for a free day pass with the full intension of purchasing a comprehensive family long term membership today but poor customer service.Management was supposed to get back to me but has not returned my calls.
90% of the cardio machines are not being used, and the weight area is too crowded because there are not enough weight machines. Time to rethink things
Amazing facilities and great service from Gloria at the front desk.
This place is awesome! Everything is well kept, and everything is always clean and ready to use! Unlike my last gym I was at.For everyone leaving 1 star reviews just because no masks are being worn WHILE people are working out, 1. You should probably re read the states guild lines and 2. Workout at home if you’re gonna be a scared little baby.Masks are required 100% downstairs. Upstairs while you’re working out they are not required unless you’re up and walking to a machine, water fountain, bathroom etc...

According to Tatiana, we’re all here simply for her mask power-trips. We all take them off as soon as we go upstairs, but Tatiana decided to make me wait at the front desk for 10 minutes while laughing with friends while she used the only opportunity of power in her life to make a member (who pays $129/month) wait for 10 minutes. I dont pay money to be virtue signalled at my gym. I pay to workout. Tatiana should learn quickly that we’re not paying $9/month for a membership.
Absolutely great experience at this facility. It started off a little rocky with a rude membership specialist who gave unwarranted attitude, but the Account Manager - Ian Coleman was extremely friendly, informative, and just an overall genuine guy. My girlfriend and I were left extremely impressed of both he and the facility - regardless of the rude guy checking us in and taking temps at the beginning. We will definitely be reaching back out to Ian soon to sign up for a membership.
Ive been a member of lifetime fitness ever since they moved to Austin, my daughter grew up there at the child center for the Summers. So I will always give this place a 5-star rating because I love it its not packed and theres always a machine ready for you to use. The staff is always great they know you by name whenever you walk through the door they greet you, greatest game ever.
Nice gym but they need to improve the cleaning in the restrooms and dressing room. Always nasty aspect
You get what you pay for at Lifetime. If you take advantage of all the classes and amenities offered in your membership not only will you see results with yourself, but you will also realize it is money well spent on your health and well-being. Ive traveled to their other gyms and the quality of the people, facilities and service don not waver.
Love the swimming pools and beautiful scenery outside.
The outside pool floor is not clean. The shower had no shampoo nor shower gel.
Great place to workout. Friendly staff
These trainers are rude and don’t care about anything other than getting paid. They don’t care about your actual wellness, this is a total waste of my money the customer service is terrible here! The staffing is terrible and unprofessional even the management is disappointing!
Lifetime gym has one of the best and most modern facilities
Love it. Great place to stay in shape and everyone is always friendly.
It was great, I enjoyed! Pools only get to 5ft tho...
Great place! They have a bar, 3 swimming pools. A big cardio area and more
They DO NOT enforce mask use. It’s extremely uncomfortable and when it gets busy they do not set limits on how many people can come in or anything. A little ridiculous. So I just have to go at 5am when not a lot of people are there. Other than that the amenities are great.
The staff are amazing at their job, the equipments are very well maintained and the floors and everything is super clean. Why the 3 stars?Well new reasons. People don’t rerack their weights, hardly ever wipe the equipment and in many instances I know a lot of the guys don’t wash their hands. All that isn’t lifetime’s fault but failure to restock disinfectant wipes or removing the hand sanitizer really made the experience bad :/
My boyfriend and I were excited to try Life Time for the first time with our day pass but honestly the experience was ruined after seeing everyone walking around without masks. I became even more grossed out after seeing NO ONE wipe down any equipment after using it. Definitely will not be coming back.
Best GYM .. good equipments and always clean
Very friendly staff. Club is really nice. Nice clean locker rooms.
The facility is clean and the staff have always been friendly when I pass them. The daycare service is nice as it allows me to work out when I need to without having to worry about getting a babysitter.
The only thing is that its expensive but you will have a great experience there it is worth the money
Good gym, a lot of activities. Waiting to see when they will go back to 24/7
Great place. However it’s getting packed and ppl are gross. No mask policing, no distancing policing. It’s a place to catch something for sure.
If you can afford this place and will keep up your motivation to keep up at leat 3 to 4 times a week then youll get everything that you need for your self improvement. Their facilities are much more diverse than any other fitness center in the area. Anything you want, in terms of fitness, is at anyones disposal. Been coming for nearly 2 decades.
Clean facility and great amenities from fully equipped showers to café and hairsalon onsite.
I love life time at rim, but they should have more control with people in the gym who walk without a mask!
I was working out with my friends and they accused me of training them, there is no way I am going back .
Love this place. COVID protection is taken seriously and the most important of all, the court is open.
The rock climbing wall is fun workout.
I always enjoy the hot tub and the cleaniness of the facility..
Clean facility, social distancing in effect and great equipment to work out with.
Weve been member for 6 months or so. We love it . Its a bit pricey but not cause of the area if you only come a handful of times you get your moneys worth. Gym, spa, pools, cafe, saloon, hot tub, BB court so much more. Staff is amazing locker rooms always clean all is provided in the showers and dressing area. So actually pretty affordable for such an amazing place. Thank you management for running suck a great place!
When I entered I had a lot of tension but the whirlpool took it all away very clean and respectful staff on duty makes me feel like coming back👌😊
Love this gym. Been coming here for years. Always took cycling but since they started putting your numbers up on the screen its nothing but uncomfortable. The pressure of competing and staying at a level as others made me quit the cycle classes. Sadly they do not wipe down bikes either. I kept going to a bike I reserved that was still full of sweat.
Staff is Super friendly and accommodating, high quality equipment and amenities. Highly Recommend
Was a great gym, but now its too kid/class friendly. Kicked off equipment by trainers told Im not paying as much as their trainees so they have preference. Classes babysitting 15-20 high school kids (or novice lifters) on the gym floor and the every lane in the pool with minimal supervision, monopolizing gym equipment and pools. Classes in the middle of gym floor during peak hours feet away from powerlifters on the squat racks. To maintain your sanity and safety please only come during off-peak hours.(Edit) Now 3 out of 5 squat racks are reserved for trainers from 6-7pm. Dont expect to find a squat rack during peak hours unless you pay extra.Discussed the monopolization of the equipment and floor during peak hours with management. Club manager explained this is the direction Lifetime is going now. Unless youre paying for a trainer, expect to be second class. Floor classes take first priority.
Great gym, great amenities, great staff. I rated it at 3 stars becase they aren’t enforcing face mask in the building. Maybe 25% of the people working out right now aren’t wearing a face mask at all, and 50% have it, but they aren’t wearing it.
Lifetime is a good gym no doubt. But when it comes to paying 100+$ for a gym youd expect it to at-least be open 24 Hours. Ive asked to be prorated for the time its not open but no response. I mean cant yall atleast stay open till 12 Midnight, Why does it close at 10 ? People pay alot of money for this gym Definitely giving it a Zero star cause it lacks the convenience ...
Emily at the salon is an amazing pedicurist. She takes care of you with careful attention to ever detail. And she’s so easy to talk to.
The gym is well kept and clean and the staff is always very helpful. All their instructors are knowledgeable and try to keep the classes interesting by updating the routines about every 2-3 weeks. The cafe has good protein shakes and made to order breakfast.
Great place, staff, and super cleaned
Steam room don’t working for more than a week.... maybe is time corporation put some attention on this location.
They still charge me $98 for a gym that is no longer 24 hours. I understand during the pandemic things are subject to change however I pay for the luxury of going whenever I want. They just don’t want to pay employees overnight. And when I asked to be prorated they simply just ignored my email.
If you need help with anything go to Ian! Very dedicated to providing great service, thank you sir!
This gym is Awesome! Great staff, trainers and instructors they truly care about you, they encourage and guide you on your fitness journey.
We like the club very much, but the music has to go. No one likes it. Take a poll and see how everyone feels. Something relaxing in the dressing room would give us the Zen moment we are looking for in our working out. Please cut out the horrid music.
I honestly am surprised that Life Time got such a low review. I had canceled my membership to try and save money a few months ago, and had joined a gym that was a lot cheaper. Long story short the gym is worth the price and I instantly regret leaving. There are a lot of amenities that comes with Life Time that you wont find at other gyms. There is equipment that you wont find at other gyms. The staff are knowledgeable and nice, always able to answer question and if they dont have the answer they will point you to someone who does have the knowledge. The equipment is kept up and some of the equipment you kind find in other gyms (Jacobs ladder, heavy set of kettle bells, skiers, slam balls and so much more). The staff are nice and there is also a community that I havent seen in other gyms.Again, the price might be a little steep but it is worth it with everything the gym has to offer. I plan on making my way back to the gym sooner rather than later and will not be canceling unless I move a significant distance away.
Gym was clean and had all the free weights and machines I needed. Several clean towels provided. One thing that could be improved is more baskets for the dirty towels on the weight floor.
Great place that meets any fitness program need! They provide a myriad of classes to suit your interest. Very well equipped, maintained and very clean. They also have other accommodations for before and after workout, to include a cafe, salon, etc.
Love love Lifetime.
Great place to have a workout and relax. Just dont come during peak hours. Thanks!
Everything was clean, people are nice and respectful. Overall, I love this gym! Its worth the $100 per month! Plus if youre are not sure you want to deal with all your money you can do the one week free.
Very nice, clean and large facility offering many amenities; that come at a cost. You do get what you pay for.
I was thinking about rejoining but in the comments I see they dont enforce masks and its not 24 hrs anymore? For the price they are asking its not worth it
So lifetime says there a family place? They say they are here to serve. This is the biggest lie I have ever heard. The new GM Megan Richter is a horrible GM with no customer service skills. I joined Lifetime back in early early 2000’s and have been there ever since. We have moved a lot but always had this membership even if we had to put it on hold. So for close to 20 years we have been a member. I joined as a family now we have to be split up. This is so you get more membership money. Well due to your new rules and the new GM who apparently only cares about money. You have lost our business forever. If I am ever asked about lifetime I will certainly tell my story.Sure did like the old team. They at least cared about the families. I know because I spoke to Garth several times what a great GM and team.
Great place with friendly staff. Sometimes the showers are a bit smelly though. Love the Cafe!
Requires facemask as of three days from now. Cancelling my membership this weekend.Have a few gym memberships because I go everyday, so no loss for me.
Little to no enforcement of masks. Very uncomfortable.
Everyone here is rude and never helpful. The reason Im giving this place stars at all is because the yoga instructors are the most wonderful people and deserve all the credit. Also theres no womens gym.
I train with Brad Bowen who has been my trainer for 2 years now. I had 3 previous trainers, but none could come close to Brads innovation, outside the box thinking, and determination. Brad expects nothing but greatness from his clients, which is what you want in a trainer. Brad is not only my trainer, but has become a great friend. I highly recommend Brad!
Great facility, clean as well. Very expensive though
Hi! Member for years and am VERY happy. One suggestion, though...the overhead paging system is turned up too high. When the front desk makes announcements we can’t understand what they’re saying.
Love to go! my favorite place!
From the first time I walked into this facility I realized this was more than a gym, it was a mega club. It had the amenities for a family or a one stop shop for all activists that each family member could enjoy such as basketball, rock climbing wall, indoor & outdoor pool, state of the art equipment, full service spa, a cafe, and an amazing kids center. Each day I observe how the staff welcomes each members especially by there name. Also theres always a staff member available if you need assistance and most times they are on the floor cleaning the equipment to make it look brand new. Other amenities include a free towel service, a steam room, sauna and hot tubs for therapeutic activities.I could go on and on about how great this club is because of its customer service and the staff but dont take my word for it go try it yourself and be the judge. You wont regret it.
This facility is top notch! It has an amazing selection of functional fitness equipment which is what I really like. Membership price is steep at $90 for one person a month. But it is an investment in health and they offer so much that I see the value.
The reason why Im only giving you 1 star because of there were more negatives than positive on your reviews Im not a client yet . I was interested in visiting your facility but Ive always read the reviews for part of my decisions. Change my mineIf Im wrong
WARNING.. They were great many years ago until greed eclipsed every aspect of operation and all sense of decency. They went on an aggressive membership drive with no limitations or concerns for overcrowding or diminishing the experience for members. Instead, they jam so many people in the facility, you cannot get a workout much less find a place to sit and change in the locker room. Everyone is piled on top of each other trying to get to their locker. In the gym, there’s a line to wait for everything and it’s so crowded a 30-60 minute workout ends up taking 2-3 hours and your rest timing is shot I tried changing to off peak times during the week at 7am, 10am, & 3pm.. all eventually became overcrowded as the oversubscribed membership machine never stops.Lifetime’s greed doesn’t stop there. I temporarily moved overseas for contract work and tried several times to cancel my membership. They told me I had to come in person - that was my only option. My credit card Lifetime had on file eventually expired and to my relief, they sent emails stating my membership will be cancelled due to nonpayment. Problem solved? Two years later, here come the charges again from lifetime - they managed to continue stealing from me after over 4 years of inactivity using my 2014 EXPIRED credit card?!?!?! I ended up having to call MasterCard to permanently block any charges from Lifetime. That’s pathetic and your organization should be facing federal fraud charges.Owner - please don’t bother with your meaningless bs “Thank you for providing us with feedback to help make the club better“. It will never get better because greed is paramount for you and your entire organization that could care less about members and will stop at nothing to continue stealing from them. Don’t waist your money (+100/mo) or time on this overcrowded gym run by dishonorable people.
UPDATE DECEMBER 2018Although I am no longer a member of lifetime, it is my understanding that they have replaced all spin bikes and have a completely new system. The spin bikes are not being maintained. The instructors are fine, and write down problems as they become aware. The bikes are moved by the instructors so that no one rides them, but then they are moved back without being fixed. This has been a long time problem. At first it was the computers that wont work- the batteries run down quickly when the instructors are told to keep the lights off (so that if you want to see the computer you must use the computer light, which uses up the battery). The instructors note which bike computers arent working, but week to week they never seem to have new batteries. But a more serious problem is the bikes crank arms (where the pedals attach to the bike). These are becoming loose, so that the crank arms are no longer opposite each other. This is a dangerous situation - if someone who doesnt know better rides a bike like this and tries to stand they will injure themselves. This isnt one bike, either - today it was four. FOUR bikes with dangerous problems. This means members are looking for a bike that works, delaying their workout and setting up bike after bike in the dark, only to get on and find the computer not working or the bike to be unsafe.
Life Time is truly remarkable company I have been a team member for nearly over 10 years and I have to say there is nothing like it!From day one I knew it was the company for me.Being part of the Healthy Way of Life Company has made a huge impact in my personal life, as well as my professional life. I am surrounded by the best people, members and team members All of them thriving to be part of a healthy lifestyle. I have forged great relationships in this place and could not conceive the idea of not being part of it.Thank you for all you do, and keep doing what you do to be the best place in town.
Vanessa, one of the trainer is so AWESOME,she make sure youre on point, when exercising with her,its been awhile since Ive last worked out but I didnt feel stiffness or sore afterwards,Id really enjoyed myself and the group was really nice
So here’s what I think. If you want a facility that has good, clean equipment than lifetime is the place. The quality and some what quantity is better than any gym in San Antonio. Downside to that, throughout majority of the day, and especially during the most busy part of the day, they host classes and training sessions so little lass then half the equipment is unavailable, which is terrible to those who come to lift on their own. Now, if your looking for a trainer, lifetime isn’t the place to go to! There is maybe 2 trainers that I would consider actual trainers. The lack of knowledge, the techniques and forms they teach, is the worst I’ve seen in the fitness industry. Seems their motto is “let’s get everyone moving so much to keep a fast heart rate, so they seem like they are working hard. Seen many multiple cases where guys and girls were doing lifts or exercises with the trainer watching them and laughing with them, with the worst I mean worst form possible and heavy weight. So all and all come here for the equipment, not the expertise of the trainers. Dustin is the top trainer here if you do come here and need assistant.
Great. Love it
Even giving one star is gracious. The space is decently clean. The fitness/sales staff is the worst. I spoke to an Assistant Manager who led me through the process of switching my card information, only to find they did not charge me for 3 months consecutively over the summer. I repeatedly let them know I was not charged and was concerned as I did NOT want to get hit with a large sum. Lo and behold, I was charged nearly $400 for the staffs forgetfulness/incompetence! Ridiculous. Trying to cancel my membership is a nightmare within itself. Im having to dispute their monthly fees with my bank for the past 3 months. Would not recommend at all; over-priced, unorganized, & they carry a large uneducated staff.
If you are looking for a quality, professional and knowledgeable place to take your kids for swimming lessons, this is DEFINITELY not the place! The instructors are super friendly, but lack knowledge. You will also experience constant changes in instructors, therefore delaying any real progression on stroke technique. Unfortunately, Lifetime is known for quantity and not QUALITY. HUGE waste of money!
I love this gym. Everyone who works here treats each member like family.
I went here for a while, it is expensive, but the facilities and pool were nice. However beware if you place your membership on hold as it will not stay on hold forever, read the fine print, after a certain time it goes off hold and youll be getting charged even if you havent been there in forever! My other main complaint is they have these big legally binding 30.06 signs (no concealed carry allowed). As if that is making this place any more safe?? I felt LESS SAFE going into this no gun zone AKA only bad guys will have guns zone, and so I ultimately decided not to give them my business. I now go to Golds where I can legally concealed carry.
My home away from home. Love the dance classes and weights!
If you don’t join the day you go in the joining fee goes up by $90 to $119. The pricing is basically all or nothing, if you don’t use all of the amenities then you’ll be throwing money away. My last Gym had more free weights and cardio equipment and was literally $10 per month with no contract. This place starts at $90 per month with ridiculously high fees to join.
I give them the 5 stars based on what I know. Two things... it’s clean & has everything! Love it. 🥰
Due to health reason, I have not attended the gym for over a year now. When I tried to cancel my membership over a year ago, they suggested to put the membership on-hold and pay only $15 instead of paying $107/month. So I did but have not made it to the gym since then. I have been trying to cancel it over the net but they finally emailed me back and said I have to come in person to cancel it. So I went ahead and got to the gym and cancelled it! The lady who cancelled it was rude as if I ate her lunch! Now, I got charged $107 for the last month instead of $15 because it already has been a year for my membership being on hold and they have to charge me full price! When I contacted customer service to explain, the guy (or the machine) said that it was on me that I didnt make it to the gym and was just pathetic when it came to understanding the situation! Greed Greed Greed! Shame on you!!
Dont usually review, however felt it was warranted. Nice local employees and gym, however they do not have transparent fees and membership policies.MORAL OR THE STORY: MEMBERS should say explicitly that you only want a one month trial and would like to end at the end of the month in order to avoid 3-4 months of charges.THE STORY: Although advertised as month to month at our initial tour and sign up, from our experience, you are actually automatically signed up for 2 full months and will be charged until you notify them in person (not over the phone) that you no longer want a membership. At the time you notify them, it is considered a 2 month notice and are charged for 2 additional months. My spouse and I only went for three weeks the first month, paid our full balance, then as we stated at our initial sign up, due to business & personal travel did not renew for the second month. We felt this was clear as we stated it in our initial sign up and our membership cards did not show record of any other visits to the gym. However we were notified over the phone two months later, that we owed apx.$500. After numerous calls back and forth, we finally received a wavier from Corporate that would only charge 10% of the full amount (something we should not even have to pay). We paid it promptly over the phone with a credit card, and explicitly authorized them to charge only the 10%. But they then changed the 10% and the original full amount on the card. When we notified them of the additional change, Corporate said it was an accident, however it would take a least a week to remove the charge. It is such a nice gym, we had planned to come back at some point when we were traveling less, but the back-handedness of the charges are a real deterrent as well as the misrepresentation at the initial sign up. Why cant people just be honest and clear.
