Great hair cut, exactly what I wanted, on top of them just being a super fun group of people. Managed to get a cut and a laugh while I was in there. Cant ever beat a place that is open enough to just be themselves without some fake personality. So, thanks guys for just being you and delivering a fantastic job on the cut!

This place has excellent barbers who are friendly, chill, and laidback. They give absolutely no hassle and they clean and cut hair great! Their services are very well-priced without being too cheap or too outrageous. They also have a special for a $14 haircut when paying with cash, cheaper than at many other places. The shop is also clean and well-maintained, with comfy chairs and a well-ventilated space. I highly recommend this place.

I remember when I was a kid, I used to get my haircut on base. When I got older I started to get my haircuts at great clips and thought they were amazing. Yeah, do yourself a favor and stop going where ever youre going now and come to Lone Star. Everybody is great, the level of quality you get is unparalleled and the price is right. You ever watch cheers? Its kinda like that when you walk through the doors, go enough and everybody knows your name. Its definitely a tight knit family vibe.

Lone Star is high on personality. Ive been to Gerald, older guy by the door, and Jennifer. They give solid haircuts. However, they are both characters and will keep you entertained with some very adult witty banter. They can get pretty raunchy in their conversation, but they tone it back when kids are there. Fun people, you can relax and get your cut in a local business. Come on Tuesday and Wednesday for their $14 cuts.

The staff was great. My son had a bit of a hard time because he’s on the autism spectrum, but they treated him with respect and displayed a level of patience that is rare these days. Our haircuts were fantastic too. I most definitely recommend them to anyone.

This is a great, old fashioned type barbershop. I went on a Saturday and expected to wait quite a while. I never even had the chance to sign in before I had a barber ready to take care of me. They are very quick and do a great job. I have been looking for a good barbershop for a while. I think I found the place. Best part, the cut was only 16 dollars.

After moving from CA I was searching for a barber shop and stumbled upon this little gem. From the very first haircut I was won over and I’ve been coming here ever since. They know how to cut hair well and they treat you like a regular!

DONT LET THE SHORT OLDER WOMAN TOUCH YOUR HAIR!!!!! WORST HAIR CUT EVER!!!!! I gave her very simple directions of leave an inch on the top and use a #2 clipper guard on sides and back. She finishes and hands me a mirror and my hair is a million different lengths with the center of the top of my head still over 2 long. I showed her a portion of my hair and asked for all of it to be that length. She started cutting more and still all kinds of varying lengths. After the third try I had to get out of there as now I was starting to get really short spots and I was afraid I was going to end up having to just shave my head. I might just go get some clippers and give myself a buzz cut to even everything out. I bet you couldnt try to find someone that cuts hair worse than this woman if your life depended on it. Maybe some of the other guys cut hair better but Im not going to take the chance. Good thing I own some hats!

I was looking for an affordable barbershop; no nonsense, no fluff, skip the beers and get to the cut barbershop. This barbershop is a hidden gem. The wait can be long but its worth the wait. I waited for about 20 min which isnt bad for a Saturday afternoon. Ive been to a few barbershops including Diesel, Matador and salons like Visible Changes and Toni and Guy and I received the best cut that Ive had in a long time at Lone Star. My Barber was Johnny. He is was quick and precise with his cut. All this can be yours for $16. Thats a mens cut and Im sure their other services ate comparable. Im definitely going to recommend to my friends and family.

This is hands down the best barber shop I have been taken care of. The owner and other stylist take pride in what they do I would recommend to anyone with hair. After years of overpaying at the fancy SA barbershops, glad I came across this place. Legit barbers who consistently get the cut right. Comfortable atmosphere w/ no intimidation factor. Especially high marks for the Tues/Wedn special. After several visits, though, their consistency began to suffer.

Great atmosphere, Ive never had a bad cut or a bad visit. Very much a neighborhood, family/ friend feel. Your second visit and you almost feel like youve been going here since you were a kid. Great barber shop, I drive an hour and a half just to get a haircut.

This place is awesome! My husband refuses to go anywhere else since we’ve found LoneStar Barbershop and I don’t blame him. His hair is always cut to perfection. We’ve even started taking our 3 year old to get his hair cut and they are fantastic with him. He feels like such a big boy when we leave there and he talks about Gerald and Jen for days after his cut. When my guys are happy, this momma is happy.

By far THE BEST barbershop in San Antonio. Gerald and Jen are professionals who give the best straight edge fade Ive ever had since I went to the barber with my grandfather many decades ago. But its not just the cuts that make them better than everyone else. Its the personality. The barbershop is full of it. For one, its affordable. Its not expensive like other places. The average fade is anywhere from 10-16 dollars. Secondly, they give out free Lonestar beer. Seriously! Finally, and I cannot stress this point enough, they are HILARIOUS! I never fail to laugh when I go there...or at the very least, take part in an interesting conversation. I never go anywhere else. This is THE BEST barbershop in town.

Gerald is the sweetest man, gave me beautiful words of encouragement and kindly said there would be no charge. Everyone there cuts hair great. Gerald, the owner, is a great guy. Jennifer is hilarious, Bri is fast and efficient, specials on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Theyre great with kids as well.

Walked in with no appointment for the first time and had a great experience. Gerald cut my hair and was professional and friendly. Affordable pricing and a good sense of judgement for customers who don’t know exactly what they want. After coming here for two years I can say Jen and Tino are also great. These guys make you feel at home.

This post isnt on Lonestar barbershop but on one of the barbers. I believe her name is Maria an older lady. Nice but couldnt cut hair to save her life. I dont recomend going to her chair at all unless you want an uneven complete opposite of what you told her to do haircut. Overall the other barbers are great.

John did my grandsons 6 year old hair cut for the first time and did a great job. I paid 16 dollars with 9 dollar tip. We returned on Monday. John did my grandsons haircut, bad job, 5 minute job. I paid 16 dollars with 2 dollar tip. Please let us know if Lone Star Barber Shop prefers not to do kids haircuts.My hair cut was good!

Overall worse experience and worse haircut I will not come here again and advise you to do the same. I came here based on its supposedly good ratings, which was the first mistake. I asked for a taper and to cut an inch from the top but then she proceeded to do whatever she felt like. The taper was less than mediocre as it isn’t blended, has patches, hair sticking up and just overall terrible. Then she decided to cut way more than an inch on top and when I told her about it she just said sorry and preceded to keep cuting. After that without even asking she poured gel on my hair to try coving it up. I now have to go somewhere else and spend more money trying to fix this for an important interview this upcoming week.

These peeps know their stuff when it comes to ole school haircuts. Atmosphere is great, people are friendly, just dont go in there thinking there wont be some s*@t talking...wouldnt be a barbershop! Great cuts, great peeps, worth every dime....just dont be cheap and tip!

Wasnt happy with what I left there with and the barber said he knew what he was doing when clearly not. So now I have to go pay someone else to fix my hair. And didnt even know how to give a decent edge up.

Ive been going here since they opened and Ive known their Barbers even longer. The shop is clean, simple, and cool. The atmosphere & decor are great.You get a great cut & straight razor shave around the edges for less than $20. Guys hangout and talk, bust each others chops. Rockabilly on the radio or man stuff on the TV. Everyone shuts up when a chick wanders in. Were polite but wondering if shes looking for the clothes store next door. This is an old school shop, not a girly man fancy pants hair salon. Perfect!

Ive been going to this barber shop for the past 3 1/2 years now and ive recently been. Having problems with this place my barber that i went to she dont work there no more so I tried someone new. she was alright at first but she recently haven’t been giving me the haircut i want. She cut me like 3 times now and this time its bad. I showed up to prom last night with my head cut and u can see it in my pictures.

So i walk in with my son to get his hair cut ( i had what i wanted done in mind) i get told that the lady is available right now to take him. Im like cool ok. She doesnt greet me or my son and she lazily puts on the drape, therefore tons of hair got all over my son. He was clearly uncomfortable the whole time... the worst part is that she didnt even ask me what i wanted done. She asked how short i wanted sides to be and thats it she just went on her own path! Very disappointed in this place.

When I got theyre they got me right in and I needed a beard trim really bad so I told them that and they asked what style I wanted and being that I had never had a beard trim and I had been growing it for 10 months I said do what u think looks good and it turned out great very friendly staff and very professional and they fixed my hair that was uneven cut wont go anywhere else
