Sticker got stolen off my car, texted my local apartment manager. They told me they would look into it and before I got a reply my car was gone the next morning right before I went to work. So I missed work and almost got fired…I feel as though if I’m a resident a call and warning would be nice considering I live there and had my parking permit the day before, but I got nothing. Apartment manager when I asked her for an update said “I’ve gotten a lot of reports about stolen tags so I’ll give you this one for free.” That would have been really nice if I didn’t need to pay $266 dollars to get my car back from the towing company they use. Anyways, I get to Legacy Towing and the guy that processed me was nice. One huge problem I had is that they make you sign the form before you go to see your car. On the form one part says “I have inspected the vehicle and I have received the vehicle in the same condition that it was in prior to being towed/impounded.” Well I didn’t inspect it and I made the mistake of giving my signature before I did. They ruined my front bumper and my traction control and abs lights won’t turn off. Moral of the story, don’t move anywhere that uses Legacy Towing and make sure to ask to fully inspect your vehicle before you pay or sign for anything. If they refuse, sue, it would be long overdue at this point. This review is going to be posted for both Legacy Towing and District North apartments as a warning to any potential renter out their and to people who are trying to get their car back.

Im usually pretty non-confrontational, but I couldnt let this one go. These guys are MERCILESS. I forgot to put up my valid parking permit at my apartment complex ONE time, and I got towed (with no attempt to notify, which apparently is illegal according to Utah law). They should at least have some kind of first-time offender warning or similar policy. They wouldnt concede even one bit despite my permission to park where I was, and just because the tag wasnt visible.I know they have rules to follow, but could they at least *try* to be nicer about things or be more courteous with people? The guy that I talked to had a t-shirt on that literally said I just dont care. Thats a bad look for your employees. Im also surprised they dont have a nicer office space given how much you have to pay to get your car back.I did find some satisfaction in seeing how many others had similar complaints. Maybe if enough of us say something, things will finally change and theyll be held more accountable. Get Gephardt up in here or something.

Car towed with the claim that parking sticker was not visible. Legacy towing signs do not require sticker to be visible. Have proof of parking sticker and documents that state sticker not needing visibility. Legacy states nothing can be done. Of course zero accountability in their part.

Garbage company. Hope the people working there feel fulfilled working a 9-5 that profits off the back of hard working citizens. If 2-4 cars are towed a day from the same spot, how can you wake up in the morning, look yourself in the mirror, and not be internally screaming and frozen about how empty your life is? I dont know. By Utah law you are required to make an attempt to notify the individual whos vehicle you tow. There was no attempt to notify myself, or the leasing office at Monaco apartments where I was parked. This is unacceptable by law in Utah, and illegal.Sadly many people will not press their completely valid case in civil court, or take it to the Utah Department of Transportation - because it isnt worth their time or money. Meanwhile Legacy towing gets away with their shady and illegal way of doing business.If the owners do not know this is happening - then hire better staff. If you do know, and refuse to go to the extra effort - then shame on you.

After 2 other towing companies said that the job couldnt be done, Eddy gave every effort to ensure our car was safely towed to the shop for repairs. Asked me if I used this company. But yet had no choice. Dont park at any apartment complex these guys run. Doesnt matter if your in guest parking or not. They get hired by HOAs and between the HOAs and this company they are running scams. No visible signs of no parking anywhere near where you park as a guest and no red curbing. This company is very shady they hide out and wait for you to park in the side of the road right in front of your own home so they can tow your car. It does not have to be there that long and bingo they show up and tow it right away. Shady and bad business practices.

Id rate 0 stars if given the option. I see nothing but horrible reviews for this company. I have a parking pass hung up on my car and they still managed to tow my car. Ive parked in my parking stall for over 5 months now and have had the pass hung up the same exact way. ALL OF A SUDDEN, its not visible so they towed my car. Towing companies just want to take your money any chance that they get and make up the stupidest reasons as to why they towed your car. Its ridiculous!

A little difficult to find (1 star removed). Staff was generally quite helpful. Obviously if youre talking to these guys you probably arent going to be having the best of days (your car probably just got towed) but I tried to be respectful and was treated with respect in return.

Overnight fee is 40 bucks, thought it would be higher. So good experience in that aspect.

Caroline at the desk is a joke. Im a single mom that was stranded at 10 oclock at night with my baby and no car seat in an area FULL of junkies. I offered to pay for the tow truck to bring my car back so my baby and I could get home safe. She refused to help me. I told her I would pay whatever I needed to to get my car back with my babies seat. She refused. This business has no ethics or basic human decency. Not to mention their signs are placed WAY above eye level, not visible from a car and I had to walk across the entire parking lot just to find a sign. Just because you run a business does not mean you ignore peoples safety. Youll be hearing from my attorney.

My car was towed because I parked it illegally overnight at my apartment when there were no more parking spaces available. I understand it is my fault for parking where is did. When I called the towing, company and asked about my car they told me what to do to get it back and I followed their instructions to a T. I paid $241 to get my car back. Overall, Legacy Towing was friendly and easy to talk to. However, reading the reviews of people who tried to plead their case, attempting negotiation, and who did not follow this towing companys instructions and policy exactly, had huge problems with this company and their obviously poor customer service skills. Their employees and managers need to improve their customer service skills, like listening and creating a win win situation for them and the customer. With just a little empathy big problems can be solved. Thats all.

The WORST company I have ever dealt with. I am pretty fair when it comes to being unlawful and parking where it says no parking or speeding and receiving a ticket. This company is shady and fraudulent. Was parked on a road where there was not a sign saying no parking at all. There were cars parked all the way down the road and the people who live there said we were able to park there, as everyone does all the time. Come to find our car gone with this revolting business. Yet still cars on the road but ours gone? Called and they weren’t able to find our car at first and kept repeating questions like “What is the car type”, “what is the year” etc. after a 20 minute phone call they finally found our car and have us come to their lot in SLC. We find out that they towed our car at 7:25pm and we parked there at 7:15pm as there were multiple other cars on this road. We arrive and try to talk to the man working and he tells us we need to pay and we can just email their company online and try to fight the case. As we begin to sign the papers so we can just get our car we were asked to sign where it asks if there was any damage to the car. We ask the man to take us to the car to check it out and make sure nothing was damaged or stolen. We opened the car door and look inside to check to make sure all of our belongings were there and not taken. As we do so the man yells “GET OUT OF THE CAR RIGHT NOW OR I AM CALLING THE POLICE” (we did not know we could not check in the car physically, mistake on our part) We then asked if we could check inside to make sure everything is there and he said yes that is very understandable. Open the back door to take a look and not physically in the car as he said we could do and he starts threatening that he is calling the police and that we will have to pick up the car another time not to mention he did not say ANYTHING about not being able to open the doors. He runs off and we were trying to be understanding and just talk to him. He then explains that we cannot open the doors either which we were unaware of as nothing was mentioned before. He continues to tell us that no one would ever steal anything out of cars. My husband asks how we are supposed to believe that as you can’t trust anyone nowadays. He told him to leave and that he will call the cops on him if he kept talking and then went off about how he deals with rude people all the time and he’s sick of it as if that’s our fault he CHOSE to work at this corrupt business. Weren’t able to nigotiate the price as we weren’t expecting them to do so and got the car out. Paid $240 to park on a road with no signs saying we weren’t able to park there. still don’t understand how it was “unlawful” to park there as other cars were there when we saw our car was missing. Very disappointing that apartments work with such a vile company as there are many other great tow companies out there whom are honest and respectful to others property. Such an evil company.

My car was towed Saturday morning because of expired registration. I went out Sunday morning to find my car was towed without notice and I find my year sticker had been removed and was laying on the ground. I assume it was someone from my apartment building since I have had my car messed with before and had my tags stolen multiple times but after reading reviews I wouldnt put it past them if they did this on purpose to get more money out of people. Now I have to wait till Monday to get my car back. They tow on Saturday knowing that they are closed on the weekends to get more money. I have my sticker and will talk with them on Monday. Good to know even during a pandemic that companies will take advantage of any situation and take money I dont have after costing me to miss 2 days of work.

Awful place. The company goes around trolling for cars to tow. I was parked in a business that was closed. There was a sign about towing but nothing about being enforced 24 hours but they towed my car. I told them that and they said I was in private property. Just not the right way to go about thing. My car was towed by these people. My car still wasnt processed when I called it was still on the truck yet they wouldnt let me pick up my car. They said they had to process it first. I feel my car was towed wrongfully because there was no signs stating I couldnt park there.

I went out of town over the weekend to come home and find out my car was towed. I was not properly notified that my car was in danger of being towed. They showed me a picture of my vehicle being tagged but no proof that I was notified. Could they have taken the paper with them after they took the photo? Probably, because I went out to my car the night they “tagged” it and the following morning and do not see any type of notice. The fee was $40 a day that it was in the lot, but since it was not a consent by the police it should have been only $25 a day. Criminals. Money stealing, shady company. I wish I could give a hundred negative stars. The bad reviews for this company and their employees are not over exaggerated, but completely accurate.

Criminal Activity. We cam to pick up our vehicle they told us we had to sign forms before we could see or access the car. One of which was a damage waiver and they refused to let us see the car before we signed it, we refused and in front of me and another customer they forged my signature on the document. I told them to stop we were not agreeing and was ignored.

I needed a car towed off my private property. I called after hours on a Sunday and they were happy to come out same day within the hour.

The ONLY possible way that the damage on my car could have happened is from a tow truck hooking up to the wrong place - my metal skid plate - and bent it forward. The lady screamed on the phone that if I want to get them, then I have to take them to court. I have made a claim with my insurance company and am praying that this company will finally be exposed for their poor practices. Legacy towing is not an honest company and should not be in business.I wish had an option of minus zero star rating. This company is a fraud, Worst customer service experience ever. Had my car towed while working one night. Called this company to get it after hours and was able to get my car however it took an hour wait plus more almost pushing my time past midnight. The office location was difficult to find if you have never been there before and figuring out who I was supposed to talk to to get my car was not well communicated.

I honestly hate these guys. They illegally towed me but since Im a nobody. No one will listen, I hope they go out of business. If I had enough money I would purchase the company and fire each and every person at that location and shut it down.

I was trying to leave to go to work this morning and had a legacy vehicle blocking me from leaving. They were busy trying to tow a legally parked car behind me. When I asked them to move the driver almost hit me with his vehicle and then flipped me off. Its not enough that they know its a low income neighborhood, but they have to leech work by stealing cars? This is an illegal company with NO SKILLS whatsoever.

Crooked as they come.So I stopped at a family members home to pick up some stuff of mine before I had to be at work at 5:30 in the morning. And i parked on the street in front of their house. I got there at 4:15 am. After a short conversation inside and gathering my stuff together I came back outside just after 4:30 to discover that my car was gone. Fearing that my car had been stolen I contacted the police and after 20 mins on hold they informed me that my vehicle was towed by Legacy towing at 4:26 am. The tow warning signs provided by and posted by legacy towing clearly state no on street parking between the hours of 10 pm to 4 am. So according to the tow invoice and the police case number my car was towed outside of the scope of their contract for property. And yet when I spoke with them they claimed their contract was for 11pm to 5 am. Well you cant publicly post tow disclaimers and then change the rules to suit your needs without disclosure, but they did and continue to do so. I wonder how many other people have fallen victim to their entrapment? Sounds like a class action lawsuit to me.And they still charged me $241 to get my car back. Not to mention the loss I suffered for the hours I had to miss from work waiting for them to open, fill out paperwork and finally get my car back. I will definitely be seening this one in court.

Getting your car totally sucks! But the people here are easy to work with just be honest with yourself and you wont have any problems!

Way over priced. It was around $250.00 for a tow and less than a days storage and other fees.

I was visiting a friend at his apartment parked in his stall behind his bike for less than an hour come out of the apartment to see my vehicle gone. Get to the company my car was pulled out of the stall 2 minutes before I walked out. Since picking up my car I had to get more air in my rear tires when I just got it serviced the day before! Look out for these con artists.

The guy from legacy didnt know the code to my gated community, or even the name of our community, yet illegally followed me into the community. When I asked him why he was there, cause clearly he doesnt have access, he was so rude. Telling me to call my HOA. No thanks, how about you stay out of my community, thats why we have a code needed to open the gate, which you dont have. Complete idot.

I left my car parked with the warning lights on for just five minutes while I left my shopping bags at home, and when I got back my car was towed by this company. Many leave their cars in the same place for hours. The post office car for example stays in the same place for longer and is not towed. I asked but they said they cant. This is unfair. Bad company. Avoid using!

Obviously tensions are high in situations dealing with towed cars. Understanding their position, I have a few comments to add about my experience:1) They need to update their hours on google. I called them when they said they were closed and they were open so we were able to take care of business.2) The man who answered the phone was very kind and polite.3) My car was impounded and we had to set up a meeting to pick it up. when my wife arrived to get the car it had been placed behind a few other cars. Might I suggest that if you have an appointment to deliver a car have it ready when the owner gets there.With that said. They should receive credit where credit is due they have some redeeming factors. I hope to never have to business with them under these circumstances again. I would hope that Legacy Towing would better communicate with apartment offices so that residences know of coming consequences without action, instead of finding out a car is gone when you are running out the door to work. Heres hope for a brighter, more cooperative tomorrow!

So this company is aweful and so rude. They gave me a notice that they were going to tow my and car and would give me 48 hours to get it legal. I called and got a temp tag so I could try and get it repaired. Then my breaks went out and I had to pay a lot of money to fix the breaks and the shoes. Meanwhile the temp tags expired again and I didnt get the extension as quickly as I would have liked but they never gave me a second notice about towing my car. And when I called they basically told me there isnt anything I could do. Also my apartments said they had not authorized a tow. Im pretty sure I should have received a notice about the tow. And she said I should have called them but maybe I would have if I had gotten a notice!.

Terrible company!!! I got my car towed last Friday NIGHT from my apartment complex!!!! No warning no nothing. I went out Saturday morning to take my dogs out to find my car missing!! I was parked in my parking space that I pay for MONTHLY. My apartment complex has my car credentials, but because I didn’t have a parking tag hanging from my rear view mirror they towed my car!! Which they only initiated the parking tags months after our lease was signed.........[but it’s still ok for residents to park in guest parking and they don’t get there car towed!!!!!] I had to pay a Hefty! Unlawfully! fine of $263.00 if I paid cash or $276.00 if I payed with card for them “holding” my car for less than 12 hours! I also had to make an “appointment” to go pick up my car!!! Apparently you can’t just show up like Legacy Towing can to steal your car!

My husband is a disabled veteran with a traumatic brain injury and apparently he forgot to put up the handicap tag in our car window when we got home from the store although I reminded him to, We were parked in a handicap stall at our apartment where we always Park and they towed our car overnight. When I called and explained this to the lady and asked if she could give us a break on the price at all she insisted she couldnt because of the Utah State law although she said she is the manager and Im sure she could if she had any compassion.we did not have the $248 she said was what we absolutely had to have to get the car back and they would add $40 a day until we paid so we had to scramble and borrow money on a Saturday just to get our one and only means of transportation back from this predatory company. They are despicable and take advantage of poor people.

Predatory towing company in cahoots with apartment communities. If this was the last towing company in the state, Id push my car to St. George before Id let them touch my vehicle.

They are hired to hijack peoples cars and hold them for ransom doesnt matter to them what your place is in the world and how you can afford to pay them.

This Company trolls the parking lots where they are contracted to oversee for any reason whatsoever to tow a vehicle. Then lie about the parking pass. Spread the word.

Horrible experience. Towed our car with no notice, no report, nothing. Pulled it in the middle of the night from our parking spot. Were completely bored and unhelpful on the phone and have inaccurate hours. I hope this company ceases to exist.

If you ever actually need a towing service, don’t call these guys because they’ve already contracted themselves out to all the local apartment complexes so they can come around and unjustly tow the residents and guests of those places for an outrageous fee.

But when arrived and tried to talk to them they where very unprofessional and rude, the lady did not let me speak and would be speaking over me while the others listening to the conversation behind manager where making fun of what I was saying.Not professional at all very sarcastic and threatening behavior.Dont use their service, they are not trustworthy.

I received a warning on Friday night about expired tags. I’m a nurse and work long hours over the weekend and there was no way for me to get to the dmv. Monday came around and it was presidents day and the Dmv was closed. I feel that they purposely scammed me knowing there was no way for me to take care of the issue. My car was towed at 9:30pm out of my paid parking spot at my apartment. They are con artists that have no sympathy for what people are dealing with in their own lives. Fortunately I could afford the bill but some people can’t. The girl in the office offered no empathy and only made me more frustrated with the matter. They need to clearly outline in their 24 hour warnings that we can call for an extension not just “cal with questions.” Awful company, I hope they go out of business.

They won’t even let you get your ID out of your car once they tow it. Extremely rude and unprofessional. “It’s your fault your car was towed was al they said”I am fine with paying my fees but at least let me get my stuff out of the car.

Had my vehicle towed while visiting family in an apartment complex I was parked in an area for guest. Called them and they said because I have no sticker they can tow. Funny how the 2 cars next to me didn’t have stickers either and they didn’t tow them. They had my vehicle for 1 hour and I had to pay $248! They’re guys are legal cons!

My car got towed from my driveway (mobile house parking lot ) they say one tire was few inches not on the cement and was on my neighbor’s grass (not on the road ) but in my park space ! ! They came at 3 am like thieves and that what we thought! (The boot fits in this case ) . Horrible people taking other people hard work by making excuses. In middle of all Covid and horrible times . I and my kids have to suffer coz of them .

Lowest rated towing company in Salt Lake County according to Google Reviews. Well, when youre a predatory towing company not even the very few positive reviews posted by Legacys employees, or their friends and family members isnt enough to overcome the deceptive practices that people point out in their well-deserved negative reviews.3. Lady who answers the phone is cocky and rude. Very unprofessional. Expect nothing less from a business like this. The reason they are an unprofessional business is because they hire unprofessional people.4. Reasons for towing are vague enough to circumvent state laws in order to use legal grounds to steal peoples cars in which those that are able to take them to small claims court are usually successful in forcing Legacy to pay fines and relinquish the vehicles they stole.Legacy is the ghetto trash heap of 300 West. They are an eyesore to the good people, who visit the Utah Humane Society and have to see that abomination across the street.To the management of the Enclave at Redwood. There are over 100 towing companies in Salt Lake County. Yellow Pages online ranks the Top 30. Why go with the one with the worst ranking of all the towing companies in the county?

The manager of the store has zero empathy. Zero customer service skills. I understand this is a towing company, you’re going to have upset customers. Especially when you tow my car from my apartment complex that was in my stall!!! because my parking pass wasn’t hanging and it’s in my purse. You’re a business. The other woman working, was great kind, listened to my frustration. What a terrible terrible experience. Thanks to the other employee for at least showing you care

Terrible company. Apparently they can just tow your car for being parked LEGALLY if your complex parking lot is being repaved. And then charge you $276. Crazy how they pick and choose which cars will be impounded and which cars they will just relocate. Mine was relocated to the back of our house & my husbands was impounded from back there the next day after they displaced us there. Their customer service SUCKS. Please don’t use this company. For any towing services go to City Wide Towing, they treat their customers so much better!

They threatened to tow my car out of my parking spot in my apartment complex due to expired tags. I have a temporary registration IN THE BACK WINDOW.If youre going to threaten, at least make sure you guys open your eyes first and look at the back of the car.

Legacy towing is awesome! Of course you dont want your car to be towed, but you probably shouldnt park where you arent supposed to and it wont get towed. Be grateful there are companies like this out here who can move a car out of your parking spot when someone is not supposed to be there! Thank you Legacy Towing!

This towing company handles my apartment complex, they dont follow the rules of their contract, theyre too likely to be rude, and they are taking every extra dollar they can get due to the Corona virus. If you need a car towed, find a different company ‼️

Truthfully I hated it. But it wasnt their fault. I just hate that I got towed. The employees were kind and knowledgeable and worked with me considering my car had been broken into and I only had a few ways to prove ownership.

Nobody likes a towing company but legacy is the absolute worst. My friend called me and asked me to go check on her apartment because she was out of town and had to extend her trip. The apartment that she lives in doesnt have any visitor parking and barely has enough parking for tenants, so she told me to park on the curb, as there was nowhere else to park and I was only going in to check on the apartment. I was up there 5 minutes and my car was towed. Apparently the towing company, from what I hear, knows that there isnt parking here and sits and waits for cars to tow. So, I was inside for 5 minutes and how to find a ride to the tow company and pay over $240. Had to call my mom at midnight and wake her up to drive 35 minutes to pick me up and another 40 minutes to take me to the tow company. My friend feels bad for telling me to park there for a minute and I feel bad too. Im a college student with chronic health problems and I am drowning in medical debt. and only had $50 to my name. I had to scramble and borrow money at 12:30 a.m. to get my car. Over $240 was lost in 5 minutes. It wouldnt be so bad if I could work right now but I am unable to and have not been able to apply for disability yet. I literally have no money and there was no sympathy whatsoever for being parked for just a couple minutes. This place is a nightmare

I wouldnt be surprised if this company is in bed and paying a cut of their earning to la fountain Mexican restraunt next to the maverick center. My friends had food there before my brothers graduation and I was to meet them there, I was maybe away from my vehicle for less than an hour. What was supposed to be a pleasant night celebrating a high school graduation became a total disaster. It was pouring rain and neither I or my family members had jackets and we had to come back to no car!! We had to call a family friend to pick us up, waiting over 30 minutes for them to even get past the insane traffic. $243 later and I feel completely taken advantage of. They are making money off honest hard working people during events and graduations that can be incredibly stressful. People make mistakes and park in the wrong place, it shouldnt cost them an arm and a leg. This is a PREDATORY business.

Absolute predators. I was parked for less than 60 seconds and had a boot on my car as I ran into a business for what could have been a two minute stop. It was a part of the businesses that own the parking lot. Their sign says it was for current customers... Which I was. Staff member was cocky and unprofessional and did not care to listen to reasoning. I will be disputing charges and updating my interaction with the company here.Called the company and was met with additional rudeness and unprofessional behavior along with deliberate misinformation on the information on their sign.

This criminal company will tow your vehicle regardless of if youre parked in your own spot or not. I had my car with expired tags sitting in my carport at a complex that I pay for, and was still towed. Never have I dealt with a company I was so sure should deserve complete bankruptcy and absolutely zero business. I sincerely hope all who are involved with this company lose their jobs. Tiny brained people who wish to steal vehicles legally for money, thats all they are.

They will lie straight to your face. They’ll say they didn’t put the sticker on your car even though they are the only ones who put them on so they can deal with your apartments instead of you. They’re trash and the lady that works there is a cow. She’s toxic and she’s terrible at her job and she’s the reason the reviews are what they are.
