Office management seems to constantly change. I believe there have been 3 different property managers in the period I’ve lived at Via. There is hardly any communication from their team other then when they aren’t going to be in the office. Cleanliness has gone down significantly in the public areas (parking garage, elevators, halls, stairwells, etc.) Elevators are constantly broken. “Amenities” cost was increased without a change/improvement to said “amenities.” The obligated valet trash service is pointless. We should be able to opt out. Overall, very poor experience.
Ive only been living here at ViA for 2 weeks and I already want to get the heck out of here! Parking is a nightmare and very inconvenient being that I have a newborn. I am in the 3rd building with no designated parking spot in the gated community, so Im lucky if I find a close enough spot on the street, which most of the time I havent been so lucky, with that being said I have to walk about a block just to get to the first entrance in building 1, then I have to walk through the parking garage to get in through the pool which is 2 more doors I have to get through, go all the way up in a hot stinky elevator so its a mission in itself to get up to my apartment, which is also the last apartment down a long, very bad smelling hallway. Mind you Im pushing a stroller all while trying to get to my apartment. Also, very noisy neighbors above me, idk if the walls are just paper thin but its literally like these people are running around all day with not one thought there might be people living beneath them. Horibble experience so far. I cannot wait for my lease to be over. Do not recommend moving here.
Beautiful property! Maintenance is super responsive and take care of everything. Management is great to answer all of my questions and really likes the residents.
There has been multiple changes in management and most recently a new company bought the building. You clearly see the difference in the cleanliness of the property: the elevator is always funny smelling with water or pet waste, the garages need some serious pressure cleaning, the trash is overspilling all over the garage, the halls smell of the garbage from the valet trash service which is pointless, the gym is not as clean as it used to be and there is nowhere to place the towels.Be prepared to pay upwards of $200-400 for amenities and cable. If they tell you rent is $1400, expect to pay $1800 with other expenses.Management seems kind and helpful however they need to take care of the property better. The walls are paper thin and you could hear conversations outside and from your neighbor apartments. Some neighbors constantly smoke and it stinks up the place. Some tips to management:-Get rid of valet trash. Waste of money and stinks up the place PLUS dirties up the carpets in the hall.-Hire a company to pressure clean the garage and maybe paint it? Building is new and looks ancient.-Continue to do activities in lobby for residents and guests. Add snacks and buy cups for coffee again? Sheesh..-Residents are willing to pay more and be happier if the place is clean. Also, the lobby is weirdly arranged ever since COVID19 guidelines were set. Needs a professional touch..
I can say I am very impressed that the pictures match up with the apartments in person as for now a days I feel like pictures can be very deceiving if you know what I mean. Anyways! First thing that caught my attention here at this site is that their pool is open year around which, for me, this is the first complex I’ve seen with a heated pool! Second I liked the fact how close it is to the trax’s as transportation is very important to me as I currently do not have a car and I need a way to get to work. Lastly the management here was very cooperative and patient with me as Jewelette and a Colton helped answer all my questions that I had on my list. Thank you guys! Top 3 in my complex’s that I will be applying for (:
Moved out about 3 months ago. As soon as the new company took over you could see the lack of cleanliness around the trashes in the parking garage. A bunch of misleading information and unprofessional treatment from the from the front office staff. The higher ups in the company arent much better. But hey the views and apartment its self was pretty good!
Amazing apartments- no problems at all. Savannah was extremely helpful with everything!
Savannah was awesome 🌟. She was so helpful with all my questions. Got us in real quick.Update 2: Again Savannah is amazing at her job. Talked to her about a concern and she went above and beyond. Thanks
Great and friendly stuff. Property is always clean as well
Nice apartments but kind of expensive.
Lived at ViA for 2 years! Space was great, never experienced any issues with rodents or pests. It’s located around the corner from the traxs station, which is convenient. They have gated parking (extra charge) and street parking. The cons were management teams changing 3 times in my 2 years of living there. Made it difficult to build relationships as well as caused lots of confusion and loss of information as new faces appeared often in the leasing office. Community charges fluctuate by month which means you’ll never pay the same amount each time. Construction across the street is active 6 days a week and is loud!!! The gym is small and so is the pool but both are well kept. Overall, a nice place to live.
Easy peasy application process. Moving in soon. Within minutes I was approved! There is other prices tacked on to the rent, but I suppose you would pay there anywhere you move into. Savannah (property manager) was awesome and quite knowledgeable of the property. Cant wait to be a Via Apartment renter....I found my HOME after about 10 years! I use to be homeless, then lived with relatives, but it always been my dream to be back on my own. Thanks Via Apartment managers! :)
Management is decent. Close to the tracks and quite location generally. The maintenance team Oscar and Walter are very responsive and helpful when thing get broken. I put in a request and within less than 24 hours it was accommodated to.
I went here to see a client and would like to live there. The property grounds are very well taken care of. I had to stop in the office to ask a question and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. I saw the workout facility and it was very clean and the equipment was up to date. The apartments have a washer and dryer which is rare. Very nice.
Easily one of the best apartment buildings in this area. I don’t work far, so Trax is absolutely amazing to have so close to home. Easy to get anywhere I wanna go.Great Staff!!They are always very attentive, informative, and appreciative of all residents, not even just me! Very, very impressed! 🥰
Looking for an apartment and the office worker wasnt wearing his mask even interacting with us.
I have been living here at Via for a month and I am so incredibly grateful that I do. Mrs. Nikol Ross and Mr. Logan Bratton (Property Management) are so amazing and have been extremely professional and knowledgeable about all my questions and assisting me with all Via has to offer. It is very clean and very well taken care of. They have an open door office so you can stop by and talk any time. Every time I have they have been fun and joyful to visit with, always smiling. I have made very good friends with the maintenance team as when I pass them in the parking lot they are always cheerful and say hello. They have returned all my phone calls and emails and requests within hours. They sincerely care about their residents and they even have their own app with suggestions of social events, restaurants, and sites to see. A very tech savvy and cool way to stay up to date on what’s going on in the Via community. Like Pizza parties and potlucks. The amenities are impressive with a pool and a jacuzzi with a flat screen to watch for the ultimate relaxation and entertainment. And a very nice gym with up to date equipment with towels and TVs to catch up on sports while you train. The weights and equipment are always clean and ready to use. I would recommend living here to anyone and again I am so glad I do!
Edit: A little expensive but it’s a great place to live. Management has chanced and I believe it’s for the better. These guys are constantly working to improve the property and keep it nice and clean. The lobby has coffee and refreshments which is amazing! I love it here.Great place to live! The application review takes a couple of days since they make sure everything is perfect (good thing). The staff here is amazing. Nichole, Shandee and Lenny are great people and all very professional. Nice place to live since you have access to many important utilities. 5/5 place to live
Thankful for this new management! Juan and Mitch have really made this a comfortable place to live. they throw pizza parties, set up gift wrap stations, ask how Im doing or if I need anything anytime I see them! Very professional guys!
I went to tour this apartment complex and the manager was so helpful! I loved the kitchen sink and how spacious the bedrooms were. You can tell these apartments are taken care of. I also really loved the amenities available to residents, including Friday breakfasts! The manager takes pride in this complex and it shows. I also really like how close it is to the trax station.
Sometimes it just takes reading a bad review to influence someone to write a good review. Thats the case here! My experiences with Kirsti and the VIA Apartments have been nothing but superior. The VIA Apartments are modern, up-to-date, and exactly what I am looking for in an apartment close to down town. The amenities at VIA are perfect for me - I can workout, BBQ, Swim - all without leaving home. I can get on TRAX without much effort. There is a park across the street to take my dog to. Freeway access is close as are the mountains. But, even more important, I feel that Kirsti and the staff care about me as a person. I have never met a more personable and caring person than Kirsti. If I have something that I need, I know that she will take the time to help me. Yes, there has been turnover in the past, but the past is just that - the past. I like where the VIA is now...in good hands.
I Had a great experience while i was there and they are very good at what they do,stick to the rules and youll be fine.
This is best apartment we have lived till date. Love each and everything about this apartment. Management is really cool and they respond so quick for any queries you have. I also really loved the amenities available to residents. I also really like how close it is to the trax station.
I live here and work here. Best place I have ever had the chance to live at. It is clean, well maintained, the office staff are awesome!! And the best part is the pool and hot tub coming on September 1st. Cant wait to try the hot tub and pool out!!
Very nice place. Everything is updated and current. Big and beautiful rooms. And the staff person who showed us around was very helpful and kind. We want to live here.
We have been here little more than a year, and we just renew our lease because we cant find any other places better than this. It is amazing new apartment and awesome location- only 1 minute walk to the trax station, 15 minutes to city creek, 10 minutes to fashion place, and 20 minutes to the South Jordan/Sandy area. Very secure with fantastic amenities such as gym, lounge. Great management and very responsive maintenance staffs. No major complaints ever. This place will be your dream home
EDITED REVIEW AFTER 6 MONTHS AND 1 YEARI originally gave Via 5 Stars, however after 6 months I edited my review. While my experience has been mostly good living here there could be quite a few things improved.First of all, we pay for a personal single parking garage and a space in front of the garage and there is constantly someone parked in our spot which blocks access to our garage. If we have our car parked in our garage we cannot get out and management has not done anything about it except putting a sticker on the cars...they should be towed so we can at least move our vehicle when you are paying $100 a month for just parking. Secondly, it always smells like smoke in the main corridor and the elevators are constantly broken. Another issue is they randomly change their policies. For example-I was told I could make a reservation for the clubhouse without a fee and then 2 days later another office manager, who is apparently new (we have lived here 6 months and there have been 3 new managers) told me that there would now be a $75 fee every time you want to reserve it for 4 hours. Why am I paying $1700 a month AND paying for SPLIT UTILITIES in the building if I cant even use the amenities without paying for them.Pros: Clean, nice, good design, nice pool and quiet. For the most part I have had a good experience but it is disappointing that management allows so many of these things to go unnoticed.YEAR MARK REVIEW- They changed managment companies and the new managers are really nice. Juan will work with you and is super chill. I will give them 5 stars but the old managers 2 stars.
Our dishwasher broke and I ran into Oscar in the hall way (as the maintence room is right next to our door) He was very quick to fix my dishwasher for me. It did take awhile for it to come because they had to replace the whole unit. All in all Oscar was a big help and was very nice! I know that if anything else happens in my apartment he will get it fixed for me.
Place is under new management, they are really kind and professional. Everything is clean and well kept. Awesome hot tub and heated pool year round. 3 min walk to trax blue and red lines, 2 stops away from purple line front runner.
Walked in today to inquire about leasing and the lady was helping someone however we didnt even get a Hello, be right with you or anything. Not a word. Needless to say we took out business elsewhere.
My husband and I have lived here for 5 months and so far we love it! Management is great, and the apartment has nice flooring, a nice kitchen as well as great closet space for our master. I was originally worried about feeling safe about the general area, but now i can say that i feel perfectly safe, especially with the gate. Its in a great location (especially since my husband and I use TRAX everyday). I have no plans on leaving anytime soon :) I think the pricing is reasonable for what you get.
The VIA apartments themselves are nice, brand new, modern design. They are very comfortable to live in on their own. However, the hallways and stairwells constantly smell like smoke and trash due to their valet trash policy. There is frequently dog poop on the stairs that the pet owners dont even clean up. Garages are nice and good for storage. My major complaint it noise at night with a room on the side of the building the pool is on. If you want peace and quiet to get yourself or your child to sleep before midnight, stay away from the pool! There are always people in the pool and hot tub playing loud music and partying until the middle of the night, and even later on weekends, which is extremely annoying, considering I have to wake up at 5:00 every morning for work. After bringing it to management attention, they just told me the curfew time and said people shouldnt be out there past that time, but they still are.Fairly priced for the quality of the units, just very noisy at night.
Via Apartment Pros:- Clean and modern apartments.- Friendly and professional staff who always respond promptly. (someone earlier mentioned a manager change and Id just like to second that the new manager, Madison, is excellent).- Quick assist with maintenance issues.- Well kept grounds.- Access to Trax station.Via Apartment Cons:- None for me. ...I saw certain comments about the cost...etc...but for such a great location you have to keep in mind the relative cost associated so I personally have had no surprises. But just do your homework, ask questions. Madison is awesome and answered a bunch of questions for me before I moved in.Sincerely,A happy resident.
The complex is clean and safe. The area around it can be slightly seedy..
I love my apartment. Its quiet, modern, spacious, etc. Im very happy with the unit and the grounds. However, I cannot get management or anyone at the office to respond to me via phone or email. I called about 1.5 months ago about a package that was stolen from my door-I asked if we could review the video footage and was told someone would call me back. Never heard anything. Ive been trying to figure some billing stuff out for the last month and every time Im promised someone will call me back, they dont. I tried an email--email is still unanswered and were about 4 days out. Ive complained about this and have gotten the reassurance that someone will call back--still nothing. Before I was moved in, the apartments had different management. I called to ask what the measurements of the windows were so I could buy the right sized curtains. The staff didnt have the measurements right off hand, so she went to the model and measured them for me and called me back. All within an hour. That is how to do customer service. My current question has to do with rent and money. And no one will call back. Its super frustrating.Maybe this will spur some action? Well see.
As a young professional, proximity to work, ease of transportation, and options for entertainment are vital factors in determining where I choose to live. VIA Apartments not only meets all 3 but has exceeded my expectations with its affordability and offered amenities. The apartment complex has the appearance of being upscale and modern and I was surprised to find out how reasonable and competitive the rent was. It is directly south of downtown Salt Lake and is located right next to a TRAX station and is just off I-15 which makes commuting very simple and effective. I also enjoy spending time in the mountains and the view of the Wasatch Range is stunning. I love how close I am to multiple trailheads and can be out playing in no time.Contrary to what I have read in some of the other reviews, my experience with the staff has been remarkably positive. They are eager to serve and take on resolving your problems as if they were their own.In particular, I have noticed the building manager, Kirsti, assiduously working in her office late into the night and on weekends. As noted, there has been a lot of turnover in the staff in the past which can understandably lead to things falling through the cracks and issues stacking up. I have noticed significant improvement already and am confident that things at VIA Apartments will continue to get even better as the staff is able to get caught up on outstanding problems caused by those that came before them. Then, they will be able to have more time and capacity for better resolving current issues and bringing new projects and ideas to fruition.Overall, I am very impressed and it is an awesome fit and a wonderful place to live.
My husband and I have been here a year, and signing another 12 month lease on Friday. Jamie the manager is such a nice person. I know if I have a question or a concern she will make sure its answered. I havent had any problems here. I work at primarys hospital and my husband works at the Veterans hospital. We leave our car parked at home all day and walk to the train. The neighbors are great, and so is the park across the street. My dog loves it. Its a safe place to live
Management has gone down hill! They make no effort in communicating back with us the residents. Truly i loved Via when we had Trish and Emily. Now that we have Nichol in charge. I would not recommend moving here!Im so disappointed with Alliance management.
There has been a bug infestation going on for a couple of weeks now and management hasnt done anything about it. Or at least not to our knowledge, as we have not been informed on any updates as to whether pest control is going to come and take care of it. Weve been told to buy our own bug spray or any other kind of bug repellent sprays if we want that. The doors to the balcony also dont seal correctly and through those cracks the bugs are getting in and creating nests. We tried asking the office to see if they had any kind of weather stripping or something to close off that crack and they said they didnt have any and didnt tell us if in the future they would be able to get any, it was implied that if we wanted any of that we should buy it ourselves. We put in several maintenance requests that were ignored until we went in personally to the office to complain about the issue. so we are basically paying a really high rent to live with bugs on our walls and ceilings and food, and that are also leaving excrement marks on the walls. Weve lived in other apartments that have been much older and much cheaper with better resident services. If we ever put in a maintenance request in those places it was answered almost immediately and without the need to go out of our way to remind them of what was going on.
A great place to live, the management office are great and a delight to deal with.. quite, clean and modern place to live. I just wish there were gust parking for friends and family.. just be careful of the extra fees and they try to increase the rent amount in the end of ur lease..
Been living here since 2016. Kirsti was amazing at helping us transition from our 1x1 to a 2x2. Maintenance crew and security are super friendly as well.
I used to live on the East coast, so easy access to the city is important to me. The location is close to trax (around the corner), shopping, restaurants, the airport. The apartments themselves are updated, open and I love having the washer and dryer right there. The gym access is awesome in the freezing winters and the pool and hot tub great for chillin in summer nights. My contact with property management was great. Kirsti was helpful, warm and professional.
I really like the place Im excited to be moving in at this place soon we will be really good tenants this place is alot better than the other places we have lived at. The staff is very nice.
Via Apartments are awesome for the Young Professional and Astute Student. It has all the amenities to facilitate and maintain a sheek active life. The community events that they have also promote community and is perfect for those that are new to the Salt Lake Area.
Ive lived at ViA for a year and a balf and its been great! The on-site gym is pretty well equipped, the new pool and hot tub area are beautiful, and my husband and I use the community grills whenever we feel like a BBQ! The staff for the last year has been are, even though there have been some changes. All of the people are responsive and compassionate about any issues Ive brought up. I also think the maintenance team is fantastic at keeping common areas clean and well kept. Their response time to work requests are quick and timely. I also appreciate the new strides being taken to keep parking under control and improve the over all property. Thanks everyone!!
VIA is a stupendous & peaceful community to live in and the apartments are pretty commodious.
Don’t ever think about this place as an option, the leasing agents are horrible, they get switch every other month so if you have a maintenance request it won’t get addressed. They hire people with no customer service skills and not efficient at all.If you want to be inconvenience with following up on everything even if your monthly rent posted to your account correctly, then consider the VIA.
I love living at Via Apartments.Everything is still feels new, the security of living inside the building is second to none, staff and security guards are awesome. The views of the mountains are beautiful through the big windows in the halls, also bringing a lot of natural light in. Knowing they keep upgrading the building with new equipment and are beginning construction of a brand new indoor pool makes me glad I chose Via.
Great place to live. The apartments are nice. Right next to TRAX and nice amenities. I work at the U and its really convenient to ride Trax to and from work. The management has been quick to act on any issues I have.
DO NOT MOVE HERE! I have never written a review but I think its time. I have been here less than a year and there have been 5 different Managers and 5 different leasing agents. That in itself says a lot. Why dont people stay here?1. The location is not safe. If you are a single gal, DO NOT MOVE HERE! When I first moved in there were some residents who would have drag-out, knock-out fights in the hallway and staircase. One time there was a fight so bad in the street and someone fired a gun. I wasnt sure at the time what happened but heard on the news the next day someone died a couple blocks away due to a gun shot.2. One time a man peed in the elevator. They did not replace the flooring and it always stunk like pee! Unfortunately I got used to the smell.3. The elevator was always breaking down. You would be in the elevator and it would just DROP out of nowhere. You felt like youre in a movie and about to plummet to the bottom floor. The management company told me and other tenants, sorry, the owner isnt willing to fix it. It was so scary. People would get stuck in the elevator. They eventually paid to have it repaired but it still acts up and really should be replaced.4. I had a major leak in my 2nd bedroom window that allowed a lot of water to come in to my bedroom. THAT management company sent in the maintenance guy and he said another company would have to come out and fix it since it was still under warranty from the builder. The scheduling with the Manager to have this other company come out was a train wreck. She didnt know what she was doing and she was rude on top of it. And eventually they stopped working on this maintenance issue. My window was never fixed. Because again, the owners didnt want to pay for it and it was no longer covered under the warranty.5. The garage gates do not work often and you are stuck outside of the parking structure that you pay extra for each month. Or the gate is malfunctioning and anyone can come into the parking structure. We have had countless break-ins to the cars here. There is not enough security to protect the tenants.6. This is one of my biggest concerns so far....There was a sewer leak under the elevator shaft and it smelled like rotten eggs in the elevator for MONTHS! As tenants, we assumed the management company THEN would have made sure this was fixed right away considering its a major health hazard. I finally went in to the office to check on the status of fixing it. The day I went in to the office was the day they just received approval from the owners to get someone out to fix it. That means, the owners of this building did NOTHING about this toxic, nasty situation for months and just let all of us residents breathe it in. Who knows what some of the affects of that had on us? They had it fixed but recently the smell is back. Any time someone comes to visit me they comment on how nasty the smell is in the elevator. In fact, just last Friday the new management company threw a car deodorize in the ceiling of the elevator because the owners were coming for a visit and they didnt want the owners to smell the nastiness. This shows me the brand new management company (were talking less than a month here) knows there is a problem but isnt doing anything to fix it other than to mask the smell. This is a major health hazard. After I finish this review, I will be contact the health department.7. I ordered some items online that were delivered at my front door recently. There is a guy crashing in one of the apartments on my floor who is not a resident here. He stole my packages!!! So, I know this happens, but my major issue right now is how this 5th management company is handling the situation. No one seems to care or will do anything and they are treating me like Im the problem. I was told by the leasing agent that there were complaints on this guy AND video footage of him doing the same thing to 4 other tenants.Management has done nothing to help me! Im out $300. SAVE YOURSELF! Dont move here!
I’ve been putting off writing this review for several months, trying to give management, Avenue 5, ample time to resolve the issue. It’s now been 4 months, and nothing has changed.I moved to ViA in September 2018. Shortly after I moved in, I began hearing excessive noise from one of my neighbors. It sounds like it could be the surround sound...tv and music until 11:00 pm, and sometimes later than that. It’s every single day, and all day on the weekends. It’s so incredibly loud that I can actually hear it in every room in my apartment. I can’t even enjoy my home because of the noise. As I write this, the noise is rumbling my apartment!I started keeping notes each time I heard the noise. So I have a list, which I provided to both the current management and the previous management...Don’t even get me started on the previous management company. They did absolutely nothing!I reached out to management, let them know this is still an issue, forwarded the emails I had, and the notes I’d kept. The property manager and leasing agent suggested that I call the security company when it’s happening. I’ve done that, and they don’t even bother to show up. They say that the other resident has until 10:00 pm before they’ll do anything. Thanks, Metro Security. Management said I can call the office on Saturdays when they’re in the office and someone will come over to listen, but that will only work if they actually answer the phone.According to the lease agreement, F. 45. Disturbance:In consideration of and cooperation of others in the Community, Resident agrees to keep the volume of any radio, stereo, television or musical instrument at such a level which will not disturb the other residents at any time. Any noise, disturbance, or activity which would, in the sole and absolute discretion of Landlord, be reasonably likely to annoy or disturb other residents is strictly prohibited. Resident agrees not to interfere with the safe and quiet enjoyment or comfort of others.Safe and quiet enjoyment? What a joke! I haven’t experienced either in the 4 months I’ve been here! More often than not, the “secure” building isn’t secure. The carpets in the building are filthy. The stairwells smell of urine. The exit on the south end of the building is an accident waiting to happen. This place nickels and dimes you for every little thing. I pay more for the community utilities than I do for my own apartment utilities. Most apartments come with a designated parking spot. ViA doesn’t do that. You have to pay $40, $60, or $100 for a parking space. You also have to pay $110 for their media package, which would be fine if I could actually enjoy mine. I can’t hear my own tv over the noise. I’ve actually left my apartment just so I don’t have to hear it.I have about 4 1/2 months left on my lease. I can’t wait to move out of here. I’ve already given the required 60 days notice. This place is a joke. The new management isn’t any better than the last management company. The management company and the owner(s) really are just in it for the money. They don’t even deserve 1 star!I pay my rent on time, and follow the rules. It’s unfortunate when you’re doing all the right things and have to suffer with inconsiderate people, who don’t seem to care. If you’re considering living here, read the reviews and take them seriously.
Via is great! Here is why:1) Mitch was very helpful in the weeks before our move. He dealt with my many questions like a pro, and he was always so friendly. Juan seems cool and helpful. Oscar is also great. All of the staff has been terrific.2) My unit is very nice. I am impressed with the quality of the finishings for a rental. The wood (floors are beautiful, and the appliances are new and shiny. The kitchen is fantastic. The counter tops are large and beautiful. The sink basin is so huge and deep, and the tap is amazing. The fridge, stove, and microwave are stainless steel. There is a lot of storage, but you do have to be tall to use some of it. There is a very cool, modern light fixture over the bar as well. Our unit has a mountain view, which is spectacular. The other side of the building will have a view of a construction site at the moment.3) The public areas are great. There main building has bike storage, a work room, the I Café, workout room, and a great balcony. I Café is a nicely furnished room with a large TV, a fridge with soft drinks, a Keurig and K-cups, and snacks. I have worked in there several times. Right off the I Cafe, there is an amazing patio with big couches, a large gas fire-pit, a grill, and beautiful lights. The workout room has cardio machines, free weights, and other machines. The pool area looks amazing, with a gorgeous hot tub, and lounge area with a massive TV. There is also gated parking and garages available.4) The neighborhood is better than anticipated. We are right across from the Trax station, however, which is amazing. There are also a plethora of restaurants two blocks over on State Street, but this block is rather quiet. I am pleasantly surprised.5) The only real sources of dissatisfaction have come from smells, which is common for apartment living. There is a very strange smell in the main hallway of my floor. Someone tried to cover it up with an air freshener, but I think that is adding to the bad smell. Our apartment also smells like a hardware store. This is because the building is only a year old, but the smell is fading. The biggest issue was that one of my neighbors seemed to be smoking in their unit and the smell came into my apt. After I tried a few things to prevent the odor from coming in, I contacted Mitch for suggestions. He took it very seriously, and whatever he did worked. I haven’t smelled cigarettes lately.I’ll be sure to update if my opinion changes. This review was not incentivized by Via in any way.
I love living at ViA!! The apartments are very modern and updated, management is amazing, they are always so quick to address and resolve any concerns or work orders. The location is conveniently located right next to the trax station which saves money and time on commuting to work and school during busy traffic hours. I feel really safe with the gates and seeing the security patrolling around at night. Overall i would recommend living at ViA to anybody!
ALLIANCE again. AVOID THIS MANAGEMENT COMPANY. My friend got stolen twice in the room and 18 tenants get stolen at the same time without breaking the door.
I just wanted to comment to say thank you for your outstanding service and knowledge of company policies. Madison, the manager, was extremely helpful in outlining the application and move in processes. She was very transparent, and made me feel that she had my best interest in mind.I would recommend this property to everyone, especially those who work downtown, are in school, or love the Sugarhouse area. The Trax station is right next door, and I take it to work downtown everyday. The units are immaculate and I love the modern appeal of the apartments. Madison also explained to me that the pool and more units are in the works. I am very excited to use the pool, and will continue to live here until I am able to buy my own home.I have worked with other apartment complexes in the past and have been disappointed with their management. At Via, you will receive excellent service and short response times from Madison and her team. Thanks again Madison and team, I look forward to making ViA my home.Regards,James (Your new resident)
Pretty modern atmosphere, kept pretty clean. It usually has a nice smell as youre walking through the halls
I have been living here since January of 2018, and recently renewed my lease for another year. I am quite happy with my experience living in Via Salt Lake Apartments. It is a safe community as all outside entries to the community are gated, and entry to the individual buildings are gated as well. The community has excellent amenities such as gym, hot tub, pool, BBQ lounges, clubhouse/iCafe, etc. My kudos to the maintenance and management team for keeping the community and its amenities safe, clean and organized. I always noticed that any problems associated either with my apartment or amenities maintenance were addressed immediately (mostly within 24 hours) and effectively. I do not have pets but I notice that the community is very pet-friendly and has lots of outdoor areas for walking your pets inside the community. In addition to the advantages of being brand new and having a contemporary interior design, the units have durable and high-quality interiors such as wooden flooring, granite/quartz countertops which adds to your better living experience. I also enjoy socializing with other residents of this community and feel fortunate to have such nice people as my co-residents. The apartment complex is right next to Trax Station and has a huge park in front of the building if you want to walk your dog to take your kids for playing. This proximity to both Trax Station and Park is unique for Via Apartments and is something I like about living here.If you are looking for a high-quality, safe, and a newer place with good amenities and nice neighbors, I strongly recommend Via Salt Lake Apartments. The monthly rent here may initially look a bit higher when compared to other apartments around Salt Lake City, but overall when you factor in the amenities provided, the newness of the units, quality of service from the management and the quality of the residents living in the community it is all worth paying a little extra.Sincerely,Kash Yellepeddi
I lived in ViA for 7 months and recently moved to an apartment closer to downtown. I really enjoyed living at ViA—the units are really beautiful, and living on the south side of the building got me tons of light. I was on the top floor, so I can’t speak to noise insulation between the floors. However, I never heard any noise from my neighbors, which is pretty important for a dog-friendly building. The management did seem to have some regular turnover, but I always felt like my concerns were addressed quickly. The management isn’t great at responding to email, but they’re always very easy to get ahold of with a phone call.I did have some minor complaints: the only elevator in the Phase II building is out frequently, the water pressure is pretty low, and the windows tend to whistle and rattle during high winds. To me, these things were a minor inconvenience, and may just be quirks of a newly constructed building that will be remedied eventually. ViA sits in a very industrial area, so it’s not very pretty or exciting, but there is a nice little park across the street, and it’s close to the freeway for easy driving access.Overall, one of my favorite apartments. I may even move back once the lease on my new place is up and I’ve had my fill of downtown Salt Lake.
Via was a nice place to live, up until I relocated from SLC. I pretty much never heard any neighbors from my own place, and the staff and maintenance (who I never really needed to call) were/seemed very responsive. I loved being close to TRAX. What was impressive was the cleaning inspection on move out was totally transparent and reasonable. Great staff. I got my entire deposit back (minus non-fundable portion), which is a small miracle these days. They are up front with the costs, but it got to be more annoying than I thought to pay for TV and trash service that I didnt really use. Overall I was impressed. Kudos on having a bike room on each floor!
As someone who recently relocated thousands of miles to Salt Lake City, I was excited to find ViA, an apartment complex that offered beautiful apartments and sat next to public transportation. Unfortunately, ViAs apartment application process was very unprofessional and I have since lost all respect and excitement for this company. If youre considering ViA apartments, I highly recommend you read my experience below and consider a different apartment complex with more competent leasing agents.Unlike most leasing offices, ViA requires a $200 deposit from applicants prior to completing a background check, and in most cases, I would have complete trust in my leasing agent throughout every step of the application process.Instead, ViA provided no communication regarding 1) if an apartment was available 2) a firm move-in date. As someone who was desperate to find a place to live after relocating across the country, this information was extremely important to know -- especially after committing such a large $200 deposit. The logical steps that most leasing companies follow: 1) Confirm an available apartment and move-in date with potential applicant, 2) Applicant pays the $35 application fee and completes the background check, 3) Agent moves forward with first approved candidate, 4) Candidate pays deposit and signs contract, 5) Deposit is approved, 6) Candidate receives keys and move in instructionsViAs process: 1) Applicant pays $35 application fee + $200 deposit, 2) Agent conducts a background check, 3) Applicant waits.. waits.. waits.. and hears nothing -- is there even an apartment available? When can I move in? 4) 48 hours pass. ViA still does not provide information to the applicant regarding an available apartment, a move in date or the background check results, 5) Applicant loses $200 since they were waiting and waiting and waiting to hear back from ViA regarding information that should have been shared from the start.Unfortunately, ViA failed to keep me informed, and because of this, I have now lost my $200 deposit. Per the applicant contract, I did not notify the leasing agent within 48 hours after payment that I did not want to move forward with my application. Why did I not do this? Because I was still WAITING on ViA to tell me if an apartment was available, the move in date and if I passed the background check. Does this make sense to you? In my opinion, this is pure greed and incompetence. To summarize, even after ViA took my $200, I never learned the results of the background check, if there was an apartment available, or the move in date. ViAs leasing office is a joke -- this is not how you handle an anxious applicant. I highly recommend you choose another apartment complex with a leasing team who will not rob you of $200.
I lived there for a year. Rent is too high. I had my car broken into in the gated parking lot and the swimming pool is closed 3days out of the week at random.
Decent apartments at an overpriced cost. The main office is only closed for half of the week. This isnt a problem for me.. as I work night shifts, but it would definitely be so for someone who works a standard 9 to 5 job - as they are closed on both Saturdays and Sundays.Technology package is mandatory at $100 per month and includes decent internet and cable.Having a parking spot will also cost you as well. Theres also mandatory valet trash that will run you $25 per month. On your monthly rent statement, you can even see that the electricity bill for the whole complex is divided amongst all the tenants. Are you guys really too cheap to pay for that yourselves? So overall, the base price of the apartment + 300 for technology package, parking, utilities, and pet fees if you have one is what you are looking at spending. And in my opinion is not worth it. This is undoubtably the worst apartment complex I have lived at... in terms of bang for your buck. Because you dont get much for what you are really spending.I cannot wait to be moving out in a month.
Lived there for a year. Just moved out last week. The place is overall good but very expensive for the sq. ft. Management seems to change often. Since I moved in May 2016, there have been 3 managers, the first one, Cody, was way nice and on top of things. Then Jaime who ehh, wasnt the best and NEVER replied to emails or returned your call. Now Madison, who is there now, is way good, she actually does her job!The apartment complex is clean. The elevators arent the best. Visitor parking sucks. The south side gate almost never works with the remote, a lot of times Id have to reverse and go to the north gate, which works better. They have this hidden fee which you wont see until your 2nd bill which is a fee that you pay for the utilities inside the building and other usage for the community, which sucks because you have to pay wether you use the common area or not. There is no pool but the gym is very nice. Having the washer and dryer inside unit was very convienient.
They ripped me off they said me and my family could move in so I sent them two hundred dollars for the hold then they told me we couldnt move in and now they havent given my money back so now Ill be getting a lawyer to get my money back. They are liers and thiefs
Awesome new apartments have a gym and 100mb internet
OverpricedCleanFriendly staff
Friend lives there, not my kind of place but nice
They like to steal your money I did a application online and I had to pay a deposit when I did the application and they denied me to move in and I was suppose to get my deposit back I haven’t seen it yet so that’s all they like to do is steal people’s money I wouldn’t recommend moving at the VIA because they will steal your money to.
New apts as of 2019
New, great facilities, but pricy.
