I have been at this property for a year and am excited to sign another lease. The property is consistently maintained and cleaned regularly. I have enjoyed the amenities and access to the S-Line train. My unit is quiet and well insulated. The leasing office has gone above and beyond to resolve any issue I’ve had. Jessica in the leasing office has been extremely helpful with renewing my lease and making me feel taken care of. I would recommend this property and look forward to another year here at the Ritz.
Amazing apartment complex. Jessica has been great to work with (fast response time too!) The entire staff is really kind, and I appreciate the effort they put into building community. Im surprised we dont pay for maintenance requests, which is common on the east coast.Honestly, the negative reviews on Google seem whiny and nit picky. The complex is gorgeous, and the noise level is better or comparable to what Ive experienced at other apartments. I have not seen dog poop everywhere, the hallways echo a bit because they are spacious (which is great when moving), and you are not signing your life away with this lease (hello, Zeller). I was concerned about noise with the location being next to State street, but we are far enough back that I do not hear anything from the road. There is also a great path and shady sidewalks to walk or run on north east of the complex.
DO NOT RENT HERE!An absolute nightmare apartment experience. They are such a scam, hence why they have to have so many move in deals/specials and a sign holder. They have to lure people in somehow. Jessica was kind and seemed so helpful at the beginning but “lost” my notice I gave upon move in, charged me rent for an entire month I was not there AND forfeited deposit when I left the place in immaculate condition. Evelin was awful to work with. There are hidden fees upon fees. Noise was ridiculous. My complaints were never taken seriously. I had to deal with stomping, singing, yelling neighbors every single weekend I lived there. The dog park is so small it’s a joke! The turf isn’t maintained and always smells horrendous. There was a bug issue. My car was broken into on 200e (no parking available in garage even though i paid parking rent) and they never checked cameras to call me back like they said they would. It is Not a safe area at all! Seriously I could go on and on.. save yourself money and a headache and rent elsewhere. You’ll be much better off!
Been here for a few months now so I feel like I can write a thorough review. I used google reviews when deciding to move here so I hope this can help people make an informed decision. Overall, a decent place to live, but I feel like I was baited & switched about a lot of things. The Apartments: Look nice, pretty well maintained, but a lot of the finishings are cheap when you look at them closely. The maintenance guy is great though, hes helped fix a few things for us already.Cost: I thought the price sounded great considering all of the amenities, but they werent all as promised from my tour. I was a little surprised by all the fees so FYI, the current fees are $30 pet, $50/car if you want to park in the garage, and $95 required media package (cable + internet). Then add in $50 ish for gas + electric that you pay to Rocky Mountain/Dominion and $50 ish for water/trash that you pay to the Ritz separately from rent (this one wasnt really explained to us and we didnt actually get billed for it until our 3rd month living here so that was confusing). The application for paying your bill also sucks, if they offered you a discount at move-in, you cant use autopay, you have to go in & manually enter your rent amount every month, kind of inconvenient. Also if you want to use your credit card, its like >$35 in fees per payment.Amenities/Building: Overall very clean. The lobby, lounge, halls, & gym are always spotless. The halls smell like weed all the time though. Packages are inconsistently delivered to your door. There are tons of signs saying that packages should not be left by the mailboxes, but there are packages on the floor there daily, I know a lot of people have problems with stolen packages. I wish they had a package locker system like the Zeller does down the street (theres an empty room in the NE corner here that would be perfect for it). The call boxes here sound great because they can call your cell, but it takes multiple tries to buzz people in, you cant hear people when they call, and the number assigned to you doesnt match your apartment number. The espresso machine in the lounge is great, always working, & usually clean. On my tour though they told me there are always snacks & drinks in the lounge for us, but I havent seen anything there since. Not a huge deal at all, just dont tell me something if its not true. Havent gotten to use the pool or tiny hot tub yet. The pool is only open in the summertime, but the hot tub is year-round. They look fine, but not nearly as nice as the Zellers which is huge/beautiful & open year-round.Dog Friendly: One of the big selling points for us was that this place was so dog friendly. Theres a great dog wash, two off-leash dog pens, and lots of poop bags everywhere. Unfortunately, theres dog poo everywhere which makes the dog playpens unusable sometimes. I wish owners would just pick up their poop, but they dont even with free bags. I emailed management to talk about how dirty the play area was and they responded to me with a blatant lie saying they clean the pen daily. Any dog owner could tell you thats BS. I dont expect them to clean it daily, but just dont lie to me. Then they said they cant clean it when its below 45F because its below freezing so they cant powerwash it. 32F is freezing so idk where they got that from, but either way, you can still have someone come pick up the poo thats been sitting here for weeks. Since learning this, Ive paid attention and noted multiple days when it was in the 60-70s when the pen was not cleaned. The duty has fallen on other dog owners to sit around and pick up random dog poo while their dogs play. And thats all fine, but the pen still smells like pee & turns snow dark yellow because its so saturated (its turf so it doesnt drain well). They told me on my tour it has some kind of special drainage system & is sprayed daily with enzymes to keep it clean, but Ive learned otherwise. Not the worst place, but I wish I had gone with the Zeller (their rooftop grills look amazing)
We really enjoyed our time here. Great front office staff that were always accessible and working to make our stay excellent. First class amenities, great for dogs, no complaints.
Thanks for your response, however, my issues have already been brought to your attention and nothing has been done. Ive consistently put in noise complaint after noise complaint and still have to deal with loud music, stomping, singing all past midnight. Report after report after report. Ive stopped putting in complaints because I know nothing will be done. I might get 2 full nights of sleep a week. Its been 10 months of hell living here.
I love living here! We just moved in and it is fantastic. Jessica was amazing and made moving in so easy!
I live and work here I say this place is great because there’s a pool and a dog area for pets to use the restroom love the staff here are very friendly and trying to do there best on making the property better there are some things that we were suppose to do but something always come up that is an emergency we really do apologize for those long waits But when that COVID situation hit everything had to change and be more safe for everyone not to catch this terrible virus we were only allowed some furniture out. All the rules had to change and limit things so it’s a bit difficult but it turned out kind of good. We are still trying to make this place great. As for me living here I would recommend it this place is really nice compare to where I came from. We don’t have this luxury in Hawaii. Your not going to like a lot of things but we are more than happy to take all ideas so we can make this place better for everyone. Just know it’s an apartment COMMUNITY for everyone not just 1 resident. I really hope this made sense or where this is leading too lol. All in all this place is great there’s some downs but that’s everyplace I hope this is helpful.
These people will scam you. The apartments have bug problems, and the staff are extremely rude. Never rent here for the love of god.
My first warning is read your lease again if you have to resign during your term. I added a storage unit in the middle of a year lease, and they tried to change the entire terms making it so I had to give a 60 day notice instead of a 30 including if I went month to month. I don’t know if it’s shadiness or incompetence, but neither is a good look. I’m leaning towards incompetence since they also forgot to have me sign it thankfully rendering the new terms invalid. Now, let’s get into the building itself. I mean in general, don’t expect much these days with these newly constructed complexes. Developers want them built cheap and fast, and we all know you can only have 2 out of the 3: cheap, fast, quality. Soundproofing is seriously lacking especially in the warehouse style halls. You will hear your neighbors and you will hear people in the hall at all hours. Also, newly constructed, and now since the earthquake, the settling process has caused some minor issues: floor separating from the molding, some panels being uneven, and the bathroom door being off just a smudge. Luckily, it seems they finally resolved the leaks in the hallways. However, they can’t seem to figure out the gate to the garage. It breaks constantly causing some inconvenience as it’s not easy to get from one side of the building to the other. The appliances are mediocre and who uses coil stoves anymore? Fridge is super tiny!Okay, as for the people that live here… I like to refer to it as an overpriced college dorm. I frequently run into one girl walking around in her undies without shoes much less a flipping mask. Hello pandemic… also walking around common areas without shoes... Disgusting, especially since I’ve ran across dog piss in the halls and spit in the staircases. Parties are constantly going on and someone has this bass that shakes the entire building. Sometimes I can’t hear my own TV. We tried emailing them and their response was basically “Sorry, call security,” and didn’t even give us the number to security. People will pile their 10-15 large dogs in the small dog run and let them fight. No one cares about the lease laws or picking up after their dog either. Always dog poop on the property despite management’s constant emails but basically all talk no action. My favorite run in was a dog almost attacking me in the hall because the owner couldn’t keep control.Even more let’s talk about crime…Lots of domestic disputes go on and one night I was disturbed by police literally breaking down someone’s door on the 5th floor. My bike was almost stolen out of the “secure” bike room, but I did have a heavy-duty chain bike lock so I could see where they attempted to cut it but failed. Had 2 packages stolen from in front of our door. Do you think they found anything on their cameras? Nope, even had police look at them. Though I don’t believe they actually tried. Makes you feel safe living in such a “secure” building. I’ve heard of people’s cars being broken into but luckily have not experienced that.Oh, I almost forgot, I had a screen blow off during the windstorm and took them months to replace it. And when they did, the maintenance guy showed up with no warning and without a mask during the mask mandate!!!
As a resident here for over a year now (just signed a second lease) I would say overall the apartment is above average. The staff is friendly and willing to work with residence on most issues. I feel like this year was a tough year for most complexes and business. Many things that were complained about were really out of the hands of local management seeing how this is ran by a corporation. I would be lying if I didnt say I think something needs to be done about security in the parking garage. When moving in from Montana I was told it was gated and secured (which it is gated) my work truck has been broken into twice (renters insurance doesnt cover parking garage) later was told that the gates are too regulate flow of traffic, not for security. But the community at the Ritz is great. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. Management throws events for the residence. The gym its kept clean. Maintenance has always been on top of any requires I have an issue with. I would recommend friends to start here. The location is great, 5 minutes from downtown, or sugarhouse, seconds from the interstate.
Me and my husband lived here at ritz for about 5 months goin on 6 months. So far it has been great, they have a lot of fun stuff here. They also have a club house where you can sit down with free wifi and relax, watch some tv, work/eat & have some coffee. Love it thats one of my favorite spots to hang out. I would definitely recommend yals to come move here come on over be my neighbor let’s karaoke & let’s have play dates 😜 and if you like swimming they have a pool which my kids Love. It’s awesome!! Come check it out the workers here are so kind and always willing to help us with our every need!
I came to Salt Lake for work, and leased my apartment online. I was hoping I made the right decision, and I was quite relieved when I got here. The staff was very welcoming, I was more than happy with the building and amenities, and my apartment was beyond my expectations! I went home for 6 months due to covid, when I returned, I didnt think twice about returning to the Ritz Classic Apartments. Would I make the same decision again? I already did!
We toured this apartment as an option while we were looking. We ended up going with another place, but we thought we would write a review as some of our observations during the tour could help a lot of house hunters out there.1. The lobby was very well kept but we felt the hallways that led to the apartments were very sterile feeling and extremely echoing, in one of the actual empty apartments the toilet had been used and left un-flushed (super gross) and I asked about the quality of the walls and floors as I don’t want to hear my neighbors and the response was “all I know is we just kicked out a guy for smoking pot” ......cool.2. We were touring shortly after the earthquake that struck and the apartment had a crack in the wall and some drywall still on the ground, the tour guide said it was some damage from the earthquake they hadn’t cleaned up yet, and led me to believe that the actual quality of the building was not safe.3. They said the apartment was dog friendly but even touring the “dog park” it was so much smaller than they made it seemed and I could see SO MUCH POOP. I would never let my dog run there, but also, it’s a small space so I’m not sure how much capacity there actually is for multiple dogs.4. The final thing we did not like was the parking situation, we don’t mind paying for parking but I wanted an assigned space, and I honestly didn’t feel safe there during the day, so I knew I wouldn’t want to be alone at night.Even though they offered us a discount and a free TV we declined. I hope this helps other house hunters.
I have been living at this apartment for a few months now. Overall, I would give it an average rating. There are some good things about living here and some bad. Here is my point-by-point objective opinion of this place:PRO: This is a very newly constructed building, so the apartments are brand new with modern style and fittings. Your first impression is bound to be good, as ours was.CON: First, what presents itself as new lacks in quality and finishing. For example, you will find that the bath fittings, although very chic, are flimsy and will start feeling loose after moderate usage. Same for plug sockets- one of ours appears to be loosening its grip on the wall. The dishwasher itself is the most modern you will find, but it is installed slightly crooked in the spot and a screw on the bottom is missing. The apartment looks great with all the new appliances for sure, but if you take a closer look the quality and workmanship is sub-par.PRO: I like the location and convenience of being close to everything. The neighborhood is up and coming, but I feel fairly safe here overall.CON: I agree with the poor insulation of the apartments that some other reviewers have mentioned. You can hear everything in the hallway-dogs barking, people walking, talking everything. Also, I have also experienced the hallways smelling of marijuana quite frequently like some other reviewers mentioned. You will constantly hear State Street traffic as well. The noise does not bother me that much, but I am mentioning it here in case having quiet matters to anyone considering this apartment because these are some things you will not experience in your 10 minutes of apartment showing. Also, the forced air system inside the apartment is also pretty loud.PRO: The management appears to be good so far. Very active in organizing social events etc. for the residents- food trucks, ice cream socials, trivia etc. In fact, we have one summer party going on today.CON: I think it is a good idea to bring people together and foster interactions and help local businesses out as well. However, at the events in recent months (including the one today) I have noticed that there is disregard for public health as social distance measures are not followed and participating residents do not wear masks. For example, at todays event, that I did not attend and just happened to drive past, I saw about 10-12 people, and there were no more than 2 people wearing a mask (1 of them was the food truck vendor). We all know we are in a pandemic.Wearing a mask is a sign of respect for the person next to you, and shows consideration, and willingness to get out of this pandemic as fast as possible, together, by taking all precautions. I have noticed that the building housekeeping staff takes immense effort in cleaning elevators, doors, floors very frequently, and I really appreciate that and thank them for that. Therefore, it was even more surprising to me that the organizers of this summer party event didnt so much as recommend the use of masks for the safety of their own community as well as the safety of the vendors who interact with many people who they dont know. It was very disappointing to see that. I urge the organizers to please consider recommending the use of masks for future in-person events. I want to believe we are all good people with good common sense. A lot of us living in this building are essential workers, and those that go to work everyday where there are some face covering precautions in place even to enter the buildings.PROS: Some good things about the apartment: it is great that the in-unit washer dryers are normal sized, not one of those tiny stacked ones. I wont call the apartment spacious, but the floor plans are intelligent and very efficient. Huge windows and plenty of natural sunlight.Overall, as I said this place is average. Some good, some bad. Rent is okay for the place and amenities. I hope this review is helpful for a potential future resident to assess for themselves.
Moved to SLC 3 years ago, lived in nice Sugar House apt for a year and then bumped into a Ritz manager at a restaurant who encouraged me to check it out.I moved in right after the tour. My rent dropped $200 and I picked up another bedroom. I’m right by the pool, hot tub, exercise room (which is gym quality and spacious), and club room (which has an expresó machine that is so good that I stopped my daily ritual of French Pressing fresh grounds), and I use them all almost every day.The staff is friendly, super-helpful, and has jumped on any issue I’ve experienced. Example: I had a hard time boiling water on one burner and they replaced it the day I called. Same for a small leak under sink. Called and fixed in less than an hour.C19 has put a hold on the regular flow of community events, but the ones I was able to attend were terrific. Zumba class, food trucks, live music. The pool, hot tub, and grilling areas are great places to meet neighbors. As for location, I love the cultural blend in South Salt Lake, and it’s evident in The Ritz community. I’ve met neighbors from Brazil, France, Fiji, Ghana, Jamaica, Korea, Colombia, Mexico, Ukraine and Italy in the 6 months I’ve been here.Everyone has been friendly, drama has been minimal. As someone who enjoys cooking, I love my proximity to nearby Latin, Asian, Middle Eastern, and Indian markets. I’mHaving lots fun discovering all the restaurants and shops, and all the stores I want are within 5 min drive.Great spot!
We are a family of 4 who decided to relocate temporarily this Winter to the Ski city while San Francisco Bay Area is in complete lock-down. The team at Ritz has been wonderful helping us, and was able to offer a Fully furnished option for a 2BR on a short term Lease (3 months). We performed the Residence visit virtually with Paola, and the Google reviews here helped us make the leap. Ritz has a partner agreement with cort.com, you can pick the furniture you need, and they will be able to accomodate. We have been here for two weeks.Ritz is conveniently located South of the city, right nexto a Tram line, and close to Central Pointe hub. It is a 30-40mn max drive from all Wasatch Ski resorts (Solitude, Brighton, Snowbird, Alta and Deer Valley), only 1mn from State St exit on on I-80.Amenities are very clean. There is a dog park which were not really using. There is also a hot tub open daily, by the pool and a nice Lounge room with Guest internet access and a Coffee machine. The Unit has everything we need and feels like new and home. Overall with all utility bills and access to car-garage, were able to fit within a 2200$ Budget / month (including furniture rental): that is better than any Corporate housing deal around.
Management is phenomenal! Literally every single employee I have spoken to or worked with at Ritz is incredible. Super helpful, always happy and energized, very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
The Ritz is currently at 2 stars with the potential to be bumped up to 4 stars. Below is my breakdown:Staff - 4 stars: I have not dealt with them much, but they always seem very nice. They also do some nice things - free food truck, holiday messages, etc.Sound - 1 star: The floor insulation is awful. You can hear every step your upstairs neighbor takes and can even hear your next door neighbors walking. If they put a good quality insulation under the floors, I would immediately bump them up at least 1 star. I know I would be more than happy to move things around to have them make this upgrade in my apartment.Sound 2 - 1 stars: The window insulation is also pretty bad. I can hear the entire conversation of people talking on the ground.Location - 3 stars: It is not the best location at this time, however, with all of the construction going on in this area, I imagine in about 5 years, this will be a pretty good spot.Amenities - 3 stars: This is more of a personal taste, and Im giving them 3 stars for having a pool, hot tub, and gym. However, the gym is a bit small, and the pool and hot tub are not great, based on other places I have lived.Apt Layout - 4 stars: Most of the apartments I have seen have a pretty nice layout. If you are lucky enough to get a 5th floor apartment, they have high ceilings and extra windows, which is nice touch.Appliances: 3 star: The washing and dryer are very nice and big, but the bath tub, stove and sinks are pretty standard stuff. Also, miss having a garbage disposal.Hallways: 4 star: Some people do not care about this, but I think it can be important, especially if not well lit. The hallways here are very wide and well lit. The flooring it not that that attractive, and again the sound is awful and doesnt always smell the best (weed and trash smells). Overall it is not that critical, but checks of the key points here.Overall, I would probably not recommend living here, mainly for the sound issues. Probably too late to do anything with the windows, but if they would update the floor insulation, I might change my mind.
I love these apartments! I was really picky with what I wanted and the Ritz has everything I wanted (and more). The apartment itself if beautiful, spacious for a one bedroom, big kitchen, and washer and dryer included! The leasing office is fantastic and Lily was a huge help in the move in process and has continued to be ever since. Pet rent is reasonable and I was able to get a storage unit right down the hall from my apartment! As for the community, everyone seems very friendly. The apartments have organized monthly activities/events for residents which was a great way for me to meet people in the building.Absolutely love my choice to move in here!
This complex is one of the best Ive ever stayed in. The managing staff have been extremely helpful and listen to complaints, issues, and maintenance. I often see them walking around and saying hi to everyone. I would 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a good Salt Lake City complex. Ask for Nils! Hes the best.
The staff here are absolutely amazing, and went to great lengths to accommodate my move from out of state. From virtual tours of multiple rooms to assistance learning the town to their endless patience with my endless inquiries. The rooms themselves are gorgeous and modern, and the atmosphere within the complex is very friendly and quiet. I couldnt be happier with my choice to live here.
Weve been doing business with the Ritz Classic Apartments since the beginning of 2019 and have always been treated positively and professionally. Everyone there is friendly and proactive in making sure our employees have what they need. Personally, my interactions with first Ashley and now Sunday are always top notch! The property itself is beautiful, secure and nicely located near mass transit, shopping and downtown Salt Lake. All that, along with the built in amenities, it easily falls in the description of luxury apartments.Great people, great building and great location makes it the place to be!Mike Durrant - Move It Signs
Ritz Classic is a great place to live! I had issues with calling the front desk and not getting a response, but they fixed it promptly. I love the location too; you can easily get to downtown, Sugarhouse and the cities south of Salt Lake City. It is also right across the street from Winco, which is super convenient!
The layouts are amazingly spacious and the customer service makes you feel at home the first visit. The staff is amazing, especially the young lady who helped me, Sunday, she was awesome! Just so sweet and very attentive and knowledgeable to what we wanted. Its a great place for me and my little family! I would chose here and definitely recommend it. Ask for Sunday, she seriously is a God Send!!!
You wanna talk about class, the Ritz has it. Their management is attentive, the property is clean, and they have an awesome security service. They are always easy to get a hold of and go the extra mile to help you with your needs. Highly recommend.
I wanted to take a moment to highlight not only Ritz Classic Apartment for being a beautiful, clean, fun, safe and amazing property but also the staff for their top notch service. Without a question of doubt... the best service I have ever recieved while renting an apartment in my 40 years of life.I had done plenty of research and site visits of other properties in Salt Lake City over the course of a couple months and the Ritz Classic definitely stood out on all levels. My move day came rather abruptly and Joe, Bridgette, Jessica and Lilly went above and beyond to get me into an amazing apartment in a pinch. They truly are an amazing group of professionals and for that I thank them.If your shopping apartments in Salt Lake City I can honestly say look no further. The Ritz Classic and the staff are the best in town!!! From the apartment layout to the pool, jacuzzi, bocce ball court, dog parks, bbqs, firepits, underground parking, the list goes on... this place is THE BEST IN SHOW!!!Respectfully,Ethan Andres
The Ritz is a great place to live. We lived in a similar but pricier apartment complex in the past where we felt management brushed our opinions and concerns under the rug. Furthermore, safety was seemingly not a concern of theirs even after dozens of car break-ins, bike thefts, and unauthorized visitors setting fires in stairwells.I only preface with this to say that this is absolutely not the case at Ritz Classic—management, maintenance, and even the cleaning staff are welcoming, helpful, transparent, and really go the extra mile to make you feel at home. Despite being located on State Street, with security measures such as key fobs, on-site security patrol, and a secure parking garage, the risk of intruders or break-ins never crosses my mind. The community is also wonderful—we have met and made friends with plenty of other tenants here and really enjoy the community events (pool parties, paint and sips, karaoke night, just to name a few). Amenities such as the pool/hot tub, club house, and on-site dog park are just added bonuses to an already fantastic property. With great move-in specials on top of already affordable rent prices, I would happily recommend the Ritz Classic to anyone.
We had an interesting time living here. If you are looking for a new place to live I would look elsewhere. The Cons here outweighed the Pros.PROS:The events the apartment put on were so much fun! There were food trucks, wine tasting events, painting, a DJ, and cookouts at the pool. When there was an earthquake we were out of town and they checked on our room to make sure everything was okay.CONS:This place is so disorganized. LACK OF TRUST HERE. We wanted to extend our lease by a month so we could have a nice move in date for our new place and they didn’t save our information. We got a call the day of our old move out date asking if we have left yet. They had no record of extension. We had to send them the emails and the paperwork THEY sent us approving this. We told them this all a month and half ago. When we told them we were moving they took us off of the email list and we didn’t get any updates on events, covid protocols, and safety updates. We still had over a month here. IF you complain or have a problem about anything they make it sound like its your fault and that there’s no way they could be responsible for that issue.I did not feel safe living here at all. They had someone break in to the bike room and steal a $1000-dollar bike. His face was posted all over the building to call the police if you see him. The police came here and broke down someone’s door on the fifth floor. Homeless people are everywhere outside. It is not a good area, I would never walk outside alone. People’s cars got broken into everyday even in the parking garage. The gate is always broken and anyone can come and go as they please. Packages got stolen all the time from in front of your door the office did nothing about it.We paid $400 for our security deposit with details all over text messaging and we got our bill sent to us for the moving out fees and they said we only paid $300 dollars. We questioned them about this and they said it was later stated in the lease that that there was a nonrefundable $100 deposit. LOL okay. There are so many fees when you move out don’t expect to get any money back even if you leave it spotless.NOISE!!! You can hear everything from your neighbors. If you complain about noise they ask you to reach out to your neighbors to work something out. We had children living above us and it was constant running, screaming, and stomping. Even with your windows shut you can hear every word from people talking outside. The pool smells bad like sewage and the hot tub water is always an interesting color. I remember being told the pool was open year round but it is not. Fire pits worked only half the time. They didn’t put out any furniture at the pool or around the courtyards since winter ended you have to bring your own chair outside. They gym equipment id about to break and the waters fountains here are NEVER cold. There were once two dirty diapers in the hallway for a whole day. The stairways don’t get cleaned. I looked at the same Chap Stick on the floor for over two months and dog hair just kept piling up on the stairs. The dog park is horrible! It smells so bad you seriously have to hold your breath walking past it to the grills. No one picks up after their dog on the street side. The grills used to be so nice but they are so gross now and half of the knobs are missing off the grills. The sinks and the fridges are turned off too. You can also tell when someone is moving in because you can smell sulfur. The water in the pipes smell awful if you don’t use them for a couple of days. The dishwasher’s smells like something died in there. I always had to wash my dishes after they were in the dishwater. There is no easy way to move in or move out of here. Good luck for both days. We propped the door open and we went upstairs for maybe ten minutes packing and someone stole what we had the door propped open with. The U turn out of here to get on the freeway is horrible in the morning when trying to get to work.
I cant say enough good things about this place overall! Its not perfect, no place is... but its safe, social, amenity-packed, and the management is the BEST! They really care about the residents here. The units are a little on the small side and there have been a few continued construction issues (our electric bill was 3x what our neighbors has been) but the staff takes all issues seriously and makes you feel like youre a part of a community. We love having a dog park on-site and all the resident events!
My husband and I moved from California and we were having a very difficult time finding a place we liked. The staff at the Ritz was unbelievably helpful. Jessica sent me pictures of their available units and offered to give me a FaceTime tour. Lily and Nils even stayed over 2 hours late to give us the keys the day we moved in! We had a long drive from California and they were more than understanding of our situation. Once we got here the building did not disappoint. Everything is brand new. The amenities are beautiful and completely updated. I am so happy we live here!
I want to echo some of the previous reviews concerns as it pertains to my time at The Ritz. The Good—Staff: I had very mixed interactions and messages from the staff at The Ritz. When I Was able to go into the office to speak to them, they were very considerate and always seemed to care. Maintenance was friendly and did a good job.Amenities: they have them. I really enjoyed the yoga room that no one was ever in.Appliances: everything was brand new when I moved in which was great. Loved my kitchen. My washing machine was a dual washer/dryer which turned into a love/hate relationship 😂Expenses: like most apartments, it felt like there were fees for everything. I was pleased to get any sort of deposit back in a timely manner however.Extra Stuff: they always seemed to have activities/ food trucks/ fun things with free food going on before COVID-19.Location: pretty ideal for anyone wanting to live close to downtown and sugar house area. It’s a shame that it’s so close to state street but if noise doesn’t bother you the location is awesome.Community: I met some really awesome people here. They also try to keep each other in the loop with group messages and get togethers. The Bad—Staff: Consideration quickly turned into gaslighting whenever it came to messages on doors or texts that were sent. There were many times where I brought a problem to them and I got a list of 3 “problems” I needed to fix while my concern was practically ignored. Maintenance manager seemed to be very slow at responding, this improved with time there.Amenities: they don’t maintain them. Particularly the dog parks. I paid extra a month to help maintain a dog park that did not get very much attention. There was a period of 2 months where the fence to the dog park would not close (kinda important thing for a fence at a dog park next to a parking lot to be able to function properly). The other parks turf smells pretty bad after 2 days and was very hot on paws.Noise: it’s really bad. I was lucky enough to not be next to neighbors on either side but the upstairs neighbors more than made up for it. I could hear every move they made. There were also multiple times a month we would hear domestic violence happening and get woken up by screaming. We talked to our neighbors about it. Sometimes it went well, once we got threatened with a gun. It was not a fun situation. Tried to talk to office staff about it who reported that they “had it under control”. Continued to get woken up by stomping or yelling at least once a month. After talking to other residences, the DV above us was not an isolated incident. Many apartments were struggling with hearing very loud DV and not knowing what to do. While I don’t believe the Ritz was responsible for others actions, I do believe the amount of noise and nights of sleep lost to this situation could have been handled better. (PLEASE better insulate your walls/floors).State street is loud. If you like city noise you’ll be fine. Weekend nights all you can hear is loud cars/motorcycles seemingly racing each other. This might not be an issue for the buildings that aren’t facing state street.Community: Had to ask many neighbors not to yell down the hallways late at night. There were periods of time living there where it felt like a frat house. Hallways would consistently smell like marijuana. People would leave broken glass, spilled mixed drinks, dog pee, etc. in elevators and shared community spaces.Expenses: it was pricey to live there, but a one bed one bath seems pricey anywhere in Salt Lake right now. Also was confused at the $200 pet deposit, $30 pet rent a month, only to get charged $130 dollars extra (thought that’s what my deposit was for) for pet treatment of my apartment when my pet did no damage to the space.Overall: Great location, good selection of amenities, and fun extra perks when everything is up and running. However the concerns greatly outweighed the good parts about living there and I would not choose to live there again.
Ritz Classic Apartments is the nicest place anywhere in the area! the apartment, pool, and common areas are the best i have seen. The maintenance staff is skilled and thorough, and the office staff is very kind and helpful. This is by far the best apartments in the area!
I took a tour of these apartments and not only did I feel welcomed immediately, Nils was fun to work with and knew his stuff! The property and the apartments are beautiful! Well taken care of place with employees that care.
First off, I want to address the positives of Ritz Classic, so as not to come across as biased -- I want people to take this review seriously as I really feel there are some serious issues with this complex.PROS:1. Good quality interior apartments. While the hallways are largely institution-like (i.e. no windows or carpeting), the actual apartments themselves are quite nice. Nice appliances, bright, natural light, and fairly sound-proof from next door neighbors.2. Centrally located: Winco is next door, downtown is straight down State St., etc.3. Amenities are modern, though I didnt use them much.CONS:(Please take real stock in these, as they are worth reviewing before choosing to live here)1. For the first two months of my time there, there was a barking/howling dog that was somewhere near my apartment. It took months for the staff to find it, though I had clearly stated I was sure the dog was below me (and alas, it was). There was hardly an apology, I was never compensated for the two-month period that my home was intruded upon by constant howling/barking and the fact that I did lots of the leg work myself, and the worst part was I had to get in touch with THEM for updates, instead of them keeping me in the loop.2. A couple of the front desk workers made it seem like I was an annoyance to them, as if my problem with the howling dog near me was somehow my fault for letting it be an issue to me.3. The overwhelming smell of weed coming from the hallways.4. Very little parking unless you want to pay $50-$60 a month extra for a parking spot in the garage below.5. A couple times the electricity/power went out and they wouldnt answer their company cell-phone to update on the issue. When I finally got in touch with them, they were more concerned with averting blame from themselves, it wasnt us, instead of keeping us updated on the actual issue.6. They were over a week late to get me the 45-day-notice of the end of my lease. I had to contact them to get the paperwork, which could very well be in violation of the lease on their part, which gave me minimal time to make the decision of whether or not to renew the lease.7. Wifi is abysmal, the download speed is roughly 7mbps, but you pay $95 a month for it and have no option to get your own.8. Utah law clearly states that the security deposit is to be returned to the tenant within 30 days. It was over 40 days by the time mine got back to me. And of course, I had to get in touch with them repeatedly to get updates on the status of it.9. They blatantly tried to overcharge me on my last bill for prorated rent. I confirmed this with the front desk, there was no way it was a simple typo as the numbers were all vastly off from what the actual amounts were -- good thing I paid close attention.10. This is far and away the most significant issue: the communication is atrocious. Their company cell phone with which they use to have a direct line to the tenants, they hardly EVER reply to. If I were to send a text, I would often have to send a reminder text a day or two later or else my text would never be replied to. This is in response to their never answering the phones, which is why my preferred method of communication was to text (see photos below. They are open on weekend, just fyi).***Overall a negative experience. I dont want to seem like I was constantly needy, in fact I simply had a couple of pressing concerns (i.e. the howling dog interfering with my daily life) that required attention which was very hard to get from the staff, because the texts and calls were largely ignored/put aside as unimportant it seemed. Not a bad place to live if you have tons of money and dont spend time in the apartment itself. If you ever need anything, youll be hard-pressed to get a response and when you do youll hardly get any recompense.
I was approved for rental and it took days for staff to contact me. They took my deposit immediately without asking for any verifications and told me I just needed my utilities account numbers and would be moving in. On my move in date, they had me sign the lease and then said there was a prorated amount. The lease uses confusing verbiage about whats due at time of move in. I then pushed my move-in date back a few days while searching for another place. I feel like they basically swindled me out of my deposit. After telling them I found another place, they said they wouldnt give the deposit back. Dont be enticed by the special they are running, they are money grabbers who dont care about their residents or perspective residents.
Ive lived in downtown Cleveland & downtown Chicago and this is by far the best apartment complex ever Ive ever rented! Staff is great, everything is clean all of the time, the security makes me feel protected. Theres a ton of amentines and has everything i could ask for. I couldnt imagining picking a better complex to be at! Thank you Ritz!
I absolutely LOVE this place! I lived here for a year and Im only leaving to be closer to my grand baby. The staff from housekeeping, maintenance, leasing managers and agents, community director and Weidner as a company have been FANTASTIC! The community activities cannot be matched! I travel a ton for work but enjoyed plenty of free lunches, cute love notes including a birthday card and gift card on my birthday! I will really miss everything about this community :( So Sad to be leaving, you will be so happy here!! Bonus is free coffee all day everyday for the residents with a fancy schmancy coffee machine that has expresso, different blends, hot cocoa, flavored creamers and insulated cups so forget your Starbucks habit! This is free! (i dont drink coffee but I know how loved that feature is lol) They love pets and have a pet of the month! The area was so convenient for me to hop on the S-Line and take trax to the airport for my extensive travel! I will truly miss this place for all the reasons but especially the staff, they are bar none! Love you RITZ!!
Best community in the Salt lake area! If your looking for an apartment with great atmosphere come here. I dont give reviews often but the manager and the staff here are amazing!
Without a doubt, one of my favorite places I’ve lived in SLC. The staff and managerial team are my favorite! Always willing to help and assist in any way you need! The apartments are very homey and the courtyard areas are the best I’ve seen yet! If you need a place to stay, don’t hesitate to stop by and atleast get a tour. You won’t be disappointed!
The staff at the Ritz Classic exceeded all expectations. Nils, Jessica and Sunday were extremely helpful, knowledgable, and went above and beyond to find me the perfect apartment. Not to the mention the units are absolutely beautiful for the price!
We toured the Ritz Classic on a scouting trip to SLC. After visiting a few other ‘luxury’ apartments this one blew us away. Nils and the team were super friendly, welcoming and professional. Nils made us feel like they actually wanted us to live there. The apartments are modern and clean, with spacious layouts and high ceilings. The apartments grounds have all the nice amenities you’d expect. We toured multiple floor plans and never felt rushed or pressured. We are looking to relocate to SLC and the Ritz is at the top of our list!
I deliver packages here and the people working here are just the nicest people! Theyve been very helpful and the place is beautiful, brand new, and always clean.
The Ritz Classic Apartment Homes are second to none! The people, location, amenities and apartments are absolutely first class!!
I love this property! The staff is great and the amenities are awesome! I never leave my apartment because of all of the amenities!
Amazing community. Great management and amenities!
