I needed to rent a vehicle on Thursday on extremely short notice after being jerked around and lied to by Enterprise in Salisbury. I had extenuating circumstances and was originally told by Enterprise that renting would be no problem and then when I actually tried to rent they said no. Then every other major rental agency was willing to rent to me but had no vehicles available on such short notice. With about an hour before closing Hoffman Salisbury came through even with my extenuating circumstances! At first, I wasnt sure what to expect when I talked to them on the phone, but the gentleman said to come on over and wed look at things together and it ended up working out. I needed a vehicle for a trip back to Pennsylvania for a funeral and they ended up having a vehicle that was an exact clone of my personal vehicle, but one model year newer. It was so nice to not have to worry about fumbling for headlights, windshield wipers, or climate controls. I was just able to focus on getting to my destination safely. My personal vehicle was having mechanical issues. Renting from Hoffman ended up being very easy and it only took a few minutes. The price as compared to the major chains was similar or possibly a little less and the deposit was much less. They were willing c to work with me on my extenuating circumstances unlike enterprise who just lies . I would definitely work with Hoffman again in the future and would choose them over any of the other dealers or rental agencies unless my insurance requires otherwise. I definitely choose to support locally owned businesses! Thank you again Hoffman Auto rental and leasing for coming through on such short notice! I had tried to make arrangements earlier in the week but when you are lied to by another company it doesnt leave you many options at the last minute. Thank you again from a very satisfied customer!

I would give it no stars if possible. We’re all grown here so there at least should be respect but nope, and the guy on the phone speaks to you like your slow.. Hands down the most unprofessional person EVER

When I initially called, the person who answered the phone was seemingly rude. They were not giving me much information as far as rates & availability go. I felt like I had to peel layers and layers in order to get somewhere and even then he was just so rude. I’ve never rented here before however, it all starts with customer service & making prospects or customers feel comfortable rather than giving them such a hard time.

Super nice, super flexible, and they have a nice variety of vehicles for rent.

Rented a car for 5 days, David was very helpful but after returning the car the lady at the front desk was very ruled and unprofessional. After all this is a great place to rent from as long as youre talking to David and not his helper. As long as she works there I will never rent a car from here again.

This place has awesome customer service. The people here are super friendly and answer any and all questions that you have. The car I rented is very clean and drives great! I will definitely go to them again if I ever need another rental.

I can here with my boyfriend and the man at the front point at him and told him he wasn’t old enough to rent a car and when asked his age he WAS old enough and his insurance was good. We did not rent the car because the customer service sucks. What a way to lose money.

If I could give it more stars I would..this place is great.. the people are down to earth which I love.. nice cars good prices.. and no sudden price change..this is my new go to for car rentals after enterprise screwed me over

Called to rent car and the owner was extremely helpful, honest and informative.. He did not have available my car but helped me to understand how insurance handles claims. I would rather deal with this small business owner. I highly recommend Hoffman Auto if you want to deal with an honest and personal company!

If I could give 0 stars I would the woman was nice when renting the vehicle but when it was returned their was a man with a nasty ass attitude. At the Salisbury location to be exact can’t speak for the others. The overall rental was good, but he needs to improve his customer communication that’s bad business when you are in competition with companies like enterprise etc fyi

Spoke with a lady at first, she was very kind and I was told to call back the following day to see if they would have anymore cars available. My boyfriend called back the next day and spoke with a man who was EXTREMELY rude during the first conversation my boyfriend was hung up on and he called back during the second conversation the man( Who’s name I didn’t get but assuming from all the other reviews his name is David) was yelling into the phone saying he couldn’t hear him so I called again a third time and I let him know that I was calling for the same person he hung up on and instantly he began arguing with me and saying that he was the one who hung up on him. Not giving me a chance to say anything. Once he settled down I let him know how I didn’t appreciate how rude he was and that it was very bad customer service and he began making sarcastic statements about hows he been renting cars for years. Bottom line I wouldn’t rent or recommend anyone to rent from this establishment.

If this was the last place on earth I would still not use this business. My Grandmother rented a car from here due to an accident, David was incredibly rude to her. He was completely unprofessional in the way he spoke to my Grandmother. She is elderly and needed assistance from our family for several things and was spoken to like a child due to seeking that assistance. I do not appreciate her being degraded and spoken down to due to her age. He should be ashamed and hope that when he becomes older someone is pleasant and understanding unlike he was to her. I do not appreciate his behavior toward her!And as if this is not enough the car she was given to drive has almost bald tires and is incredibly dirty!! Yuck!

Avoid at literally any cost.Within the first 10 seconds of entering the building I was wondering if I had somehow offended David. He was rude, demeaning, long winded and completely impossible to work with. My business card had my name and not my business on it and so he wouldnt let me use it.I can not stress enough to avoid this place.I ended up driving 30 min down the road, spent $60 more and got a rental with no problems.

Hoffman auto rental is by far the most unprofessional establishment in Salisbury, David is very obnoxious. He speaks to you like your incompetent and not worthy to rent the trash he calls vehicles. I wouldn’t recommend this establishment if it was the last choice.

Jevon MCClunG, Hoffmans is full of it, they told me that they wouldnt except out of town insurance, I live in south Carolina, I have full coverage from state farm an they would not rent me a car, they asked if I had $10,000 for a car if I wrecked it, first off that was a hell of a question and second if I have my own insurance and the money to rent what is the problem. I know its not cause Im from out of town, or you are telling me you dont rent to out of towners. I didnt know that cause I have never wrecked a rental an I have rented plenty of cars everywhere, so I will tell everyone I know about this experience, we just survived raging flood waters an this is you treat people. That was a first for me an its definitely my last.
