I rented a car through Avis after my car broke down. I was in desperate need for a car after being told that this could take up to 2 weeks because of backups. I obviously have to work so I rented a car for 2 weeks and prepaid. Through a miracle my car was able to be fixed earlier than expected. I called to ask about returning the car early and was told that because I prepaid the was no possibility for a refund. I understand not getting it all back but what I dont understand is why I cannot pay for the time that I used the car and return it earlier. Because of this I would never recommend Avis to anyone because hey do not care about their costumers at all they are just trying to find the easiest way to make a quick dollar off of you. If you can rent anywhere I please do that because the stress that they are willing to put you through is not worth it. If I could have made this a zero star review I would have.
We desperately need to rent vehicles one way for our business, so delivery drivers han return home. Avis is able to do this for us during this crazy pandemic aftermath. Many of the other car rental agencies are not able and/or willing to.do the same
Great service, great cars. Plus, there are lots of locations, like one right next to where Im staying at in D.C. Avis has great prices and does one-way rentals, which I appreciate. Now all I need is a location in Pocomoke and Im set!
Renting and returning the car was quick and easy. The rental price was good. The car handled well. The price was what I was quoted. There was no strong arming to take unnecessary coverages.

Good easy access location to pick up car. But got a Toyota Corolla with 56k mile with very bad interior condition - neither was clean nor the maintenance was well. The carpet on the driver seat literally had holes. Visible sign of dirt and dust in all part of the car . When I asked for a replacement they told me that this is the only car they have ! The location was convenient but it seems the inventory was poor. I have never rented such a beat up and poorly maintained car from any rental agency.
This my second time renting a car at this location. Both times it was a great experience. The day I came in she was dealing with a difficult customer. The She handled everything professionally and they left happy. Great job!
Do NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT RENT FROM AVIS. Go to enterprise next door. I was in town for a funeral. Rented from avis. They decided to charge me for cleaning fee which they said was caused by smoke. I specifically made sure NO ONE smoked in the car. But please be careful of even having the windows down while someone smokes near it. Obviously they can charge you even if people are gathered OUTSIDE. The lady at the counter was very ignorant toward me and my situation. Now i see why they have 3 star rating. I would give a 0 if i could. Beware of them before renting. I will be disputing all charges because i was falsely accused of something i didnt do. Becuase i was black. I was already profiled renting at the counter
There is a lady name Jennifer that works at this counter at the Salisbury Airport. Jennifer assisted me with my pick up and return of the vehicle. I must share she has a very poor attitude to be offering customer service. Her attitude was very nasty when replying to questions I was asking. Once she gave my the keys for the vehicle, she said the vehicle is against the fence. This was my first time renting a car at this location so I didnt know what fence she was referring too. I walked outside and there are fences everywhere, so I walked the entire parking lot to find the rental cars. Jennifer could have been more specific in giving instructions for finding the vehicle. When returning my vehicle I had to deal with her nasty attitude again. When I gave her the keys for my rental, she ask,did you write down the milage? So, I had to walk back to my vehicle to retrieve that info. After dealing with the nasty attitude and I ask Jennifer to email me copies of my receipt, she tried to get me to take a hard copy and I kindly refused. Her nasty attitude heightened because she didnt want to email me a receipt. I asked her again to email me a copy, In a nasty manner....she asked my for my email address. I gave it to her and thanked her and left. To this date, Ive never received the email copy of my receipt. Also today, I learned that she charged for gas. She claimed that the car wasnt on full. Well, I filled the tank on the to the car rental location. Im very sure that car was on full. I just spoke with customer service and they refunded my gas charge. Thank you. At this location, please train your reps how to be customer friendly.

The representative was polite and helpful. She gave my daughter and I suggestions on different payment types to help get the rental. We were involved in a car accident and it was an emergency situation. There was a $200 deposit that was not explained at the time of the rental through a third party. (Priceline) when I googled Avis rental, I thought I was calling them directly. That would be my only complaint. The hours of operation are way more convenient than other places also.
Just went to Avis and was denied a rental because it was a same day reservation. I wrecked my car and need a car badly. This lady was more concerned for previous reservations which is understandable. Why was I allowed to make a reservation on the website if you had nothing available for me today. Nevermind how far I had to go out of my way just to be shut down. Thanks Alot😡 -⭐
Vehicle was extremely neglected. Seats were stained and had round spots all over them from being spot clean, there was soda or something splashed on the ceiling. Overdue for service was notifying on the dash. The key fob battery was low and notifying on the dash. And it smelled like cigar smoke really strongly. I’m disappointed this was rented to me. Will not be returning to Avis for future rentals.
The car was in a bad shape, first it was very dirty to the point it was almost gross. Due to Covid I came prepared with sanitizing wipes and cleaning sprays but I had to do a very deep clean of the area surrounding the driver. The car was vacuumed before but I guess that was it. The steering wheel had some sticky stuff on it. Yuck. Then the quality of the car was questionable - tires were unbalanced and unevenly inflated, the tire deflated kept on popping on the screen. While breaking, the car had a tendency to pull right, very strong. Half way though my trip it started to rain, it was night and I found that the wipers were not cleaning the windshield making it very difficult to drive, to the point it can be a hazard. The staff at the counter was friendly but the car was terrible. Unfortunately, this Avis rental was the only option for me. Also somebody has been smoking in the car before, the smell was still there, even if there were some attempts to cover it

Lady at rental counter very rude and not honest... car was very dirty, could not see out windshield to drive. Was told to take to car wash and avis would refund me. That was a lie!
The lady at the desk told us that we wouldnt be charged more if we returned the car late as long us we did it before they closed. We ended up dropping off the keys maybe 45 minutes late and later found out we were overcharged $104. So we called a couple times but no one would help.

Car rental price was the same as every other company that I checked out. Maybe a couple of dollars less. Does easy Clean friendly experience. The only negative is having to wait 10 minutes for the agent to clean the car. But other than that I was completely satisfied.
Online reservation was seamless and expeditious. Confirmation was immediate; when I called the pick up location with a question regarding my reservation, I was very impressed that they had my reservation within minutes of my online transaction being confirmed. All I was asked for was my name; I didnt even need to provide my reservation#.On arriving at this Avis location: Windy Hill Village Shopping Center, Marietta, GA, I was impressed by its appearance. It had a travel agency appeal: furniture--quality and layout, and counter set-up; the physical environment was also very clean.The service agent was very efficient and provided excellent customer service. I was in an out very quickly.Ultimately, I was extremely satisfied with the premium vehicle I received (a Volkswagen). Its trunk was very spacious; just what I needed.This was my second time renting from Avis having been satisfied with another popular company Ive used for years. However, for this one-way rental, I received the best deal from Avis, after having gone through four other rental companies (including my favorite). I even received a discount for paying at time of reservation. They didnt add an extra charge for the one-way (out-of-state) rental, unlike my initially favored car rental. My customer-allegiance is now to Avis.

Do NOT RENT FROM THESE CROOKS! My wife and I rented a car from them for 7 days. They were not there when we returned it on Saturday morning so I dropped the key in the box. I dropped it at the same desk that I rented it from. There are only three desks. Avis is on the left. That day they called and said they couldnt find the key. O told her to get the key from the box. Two days later I got a call saying they found the key in herzs box and I will be charged for an extra two days. My wife was my witness, I dropped it in the same box at the same desk I rented from. Not flipping Hertz. I hope your employee had fun joyriding the car for 2 days. This is absurd! NEVER RENT FROM AVIS!!

We left our portable Sirius XM radio in the car. Im going to consider it stolen. Its amazing how no one saw it or put it aside knowing that we would be looking for it. That is theft. Trust and believe if we had taken something out of that vehicle they would have charged us for it.

Typical small counter at a small airport. License plate on rental agreement and key didn’t match, but figured it out.Caution.....upon returning the car with a full tank, they try to charge me $56.19 for a fuel surcharge. Luckily I had my original agreement and point out the error. Got the “must be a glitch in the system”, so it was corrected upon my pointing it out.Take a picture of gas level before leaving and upon drop off in case you are charged do to a glitch. Salesperson was very polite and corrected the error. the gas glitch than hauling suitcase to the rental spot and back, was why they got a 4 instead of 5.
A little bit of confusion at the beginning, but overall a decent experience.
Everything was great from picking it up to drop it off I will be back in February to run another one you guys are my go-to for now on
Upgraded class of vehicle when the one i ordered was not available.
1. Improved customer service - I had to wait 2 hours for a car. The gate agent wasn’t pleasant at all and she announce that there were no cars with zero explanation for next steps. It wasn’t until after I asked several clarifying questions that I was able to find out that I simply had to wait in a lounge until someone possibly returned a vehicle (which couldn’t be guaranteed).2. Notification- I think I would have panicked less had I known in advance that there was a shortage on inventory. That would have also decreased my need for communication from the agent.3. Customer service- when the car finally arrived, I had to wait another 20 minutes while the agent took a reservation for a future rental on the phone. (At this point, I honestly felt that could have waited considering it only took 2-3 minutes to assign my rental.)4. Cleanliness- the car wasn’t clean. They advised that it still had sand in it. However, she did not advise that there was a McDonalds cup under the driver seat or what appeared to be “toe nail clippings” on the front passenger side floor.5. Keys- when she gave me my rental info, she advised that the keys were in the car and they weren’t.Please improve for future customers...
The customer service at this terminal can be improved. The quality of the cars are not the best and they are never washed. Avis is a really nice rental company and I love renting from them and have sent other family members and friends to rent from them. Overall its not a bad place just need some minor improvements.

Love the service I received at this Avis. The staff at pick-up and drop-off were wonderful. When we came to get the vehicle, staff noticed that my husband is a bigger guy and made sure he got a vehicle he was comfortable in. Service was very efficient and done with a smile 😄
Awful......Salisbury branch csr Michael was fine only following his mgr lead but Avis cust serv reps liars/mgrs liar...Avis was attempting to rent us 2 unsafe vehicles with warning lights of all kinds displayed on the dash panel. 3 cars later maintenance soon light came on still no resolution but to choose another rental company. Beware in Avis rental you only have 1 life.

Terrible service I checked online to see what rental car company was opened, I then called the local phone number and was connected to customer service for reservations. I was asked what time I wanted to pick the car up and I told Brian Im on my way so around 6:00 / 6:30 and and he said that was good because they closed at 8:30pm and online said the same. I paid for the car, got my reservation # and when I got there around 6pm the Avis car Rental kiosk was empty. I asked the airport staff and the maintenance person who said they had left before 6pm so I looked for a hours of operation sign nothing shown, only Hertz and Enterprise Rentals had one on there counters.I called customer service back and was told to wait but they couldnt stay online with me so I asked for supervisor who apologized and then told me that he needed to reconnect me with customer service. I started once again explaining my experience and the inconveniences that it caused Alan my 4th customer service person said he had to cancel the reservation and I wouldnt be charged anything. So no rental, wasted time and it will take about a week for my money to go back on my credit card. If you ever use Avis car Rental I hope you have a better experience. Ill be usingEnterprise car rentals.

Great customer service, the folks at the counter remember my name every time I come to rent a car here! I have never had an issue with a rental or being over charged. The cars are all relatively new and in good shape. You wont be driving in a BMW, but at least the selection here is better than most car rental shops Ive been to!

AVIS IS THE COMPLETE WORST! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! I am only giving 1 star because it doesnt allow me to give ZERO.I was renting from the Salisbury-Wicomico Airport in Ocean City, Maryland. Apparently the reservation I originally made was not correct according to the representative at the desk, so instead of him changing the ONE thing, he made me go on my phone and start a whole new one. Once that went through, I realized that I accidentally put the wrong return location and kindly asked if he could please do that on his end so I dont have to go through the entire process again and he threw his pen down and rolled his eyes and was annoyed that I asked him to actually do his job.But wait it only gets better...I am given a Kia Soul that was completely scratched up and dirty.. it had not been cleaned yet. The inside smelled as though someone had smoked cigarettes in it for years.. it was a hot mess but I didnt want to have to deal with the rude man (the only person working and every time I approached the counter he had to finish up his personal cell phone conversation) so I thought I would just deal with it as I was only renting it for same day. I dont think this vehicle was inspected prior to me taking it because as I was driving on the high way (did NOT hit anything or see anything in the road) my tire just went completely flat. Thank god the people behind me were my friends and they called me immediately and pulled over with me.I called the emergency road-side assistance number through Avis and I was put on hold for OVER 1 HOUR and the person only came back on 1 time to tell me they are trying to find a tow truck company who would come get me because THE CAR DIDNT HAVE A SPARE TIRE. I lost connection and they just never called me back. Here I go again with the process over with a new representative and OH WOW GUESS WHAT I GOT PUT ON HOLD AND SHE NEVER CAME BACK! Since I was with my friends and they had a car, I asked if I could please drive to the Avis in dover delaware which was 7 miles form where I was and they told me no and that even if I did get there with the keys to the current rental that they wouldnt release a car to me until the broken down one was returned to the facility. I had my friend who is 8 months pregnant with me on the side of Route 1, an extremely busy highway and very dangerous to be on the shoulder of.. and they could care less.I ended up calling AAA and they came and towed it AFTER WE WAITED ON AVIS AND TRIED TO WORK WITH THEM FOR 4 HOURS! The last representative, Luke, was so sweet, he said he would report the two who I had spoken to prior because they never even finished completing the road-side assistance ticket and everything we went through was unacceptable, and he even wished my friend well with the baby. He allowed AAA to touch the rental and I was on my way.. but I had to miss my flight and take one in the morning from where my friends were headed.AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!!!!When I called the next day to get a full refund, I was told that they would give me a $20 off coupon for the next time I rent.. DO YOU REALLY THINK I AM EVER GOING TO RENT FROM YOU AGAIN?! I then spoke to a supervisor who said they would refund me the full amount.DONT RENT FROM AVIS EVER!

I make a reservation online, great! Call the local office, no cars available only SUVs, and no we wont honor the online 30% off (which is more like 10%). Ok. Call 800 they only see 5 cars available and can not modify my reservation to a SUV because we both dont see that on our end. Frustrated. Salisbury, MD is not doing a good job at all

Awful customer service, specially ERICA..! She was rude to me and the guy that helped me weeks before her also! they dont explain to you properly how the cars drop off works and will charge you 100$ extra if you leave the car keys between 10pm to 9am (while they are closed) wich they should explain to you at the time when you make the contract. I tried to get to talk to the supervisor and Erica hung up the phone on me and told me she was done speaking.. Terrible assistance!! The worst experience ever with this company at this location!! They will be hearing from my attorneys for sure. I feel ripped off.

I reserved a car over the phone, for one price. When I arrived to the store, they did not have a vehicle in the class I reserved for and I was forced into paying an upcharge for a small SUV.
Absolutely the worst customer service i have ever gotten in my life. I work for a car dealership, i answer phones and deal with customers everyday. And let me tell you they people i talked to were completely unprofessional and couldnt even help me with what i needed. I have two sets of customers that needed rental cars to get back home safely bc they needed to leave their vehicles here. Well when i first called i asked if they had any gm suvs (gerneral motors) they claimed they didnt have any, when i proceeded to ask how late they were open the lady hung up on me. When my coworker called back and ask the same question i did the lady asked if a chevy traverse was considered a general motors vehicle, i mean i can understand that most people wouldnt know about general motors unless they work with vehicles, but when you work at a car rental place you should know the difference between a ford and a general product. Not to mention all general motors vehicles say gm somewhere on the vehicle. Anyway so my coworker got off the phone with them to talk to the customer about what they wanted to do once they made a decision i called them back to tell them we would be by, once i got on the phone i was put on hold, when they put me on hold, all they did was set the phone down without even putting it on mute, i could hear their whole conversation and they were talking about customers in a negative way, finally after 27 minutes of being on hold i hung up the phone and called again, when someone answered they said they forgot that i was on hold. just completely unprofessional!!
I have been trying to rent a car for over an hour!!!!!!!!!!!!!The process has been a nightmare. I tried the website reservation system, got an error, talked to the live chat help she couldnt help told me to open a new browser and go through the lengthy . I called the 800 number had to tell them all the long information again. Then they told me the system was down and sent me to customer service. CS had none of my info. I once again had to go thru the long process. Meanwhile, the price increases each time this happens! Is this a scam or what? Its impossible.
Worst experience. Given a car with low tire pressure warning. Returned it but had to wait 1/2 hour for salesperson to return to desk. Desk was left unmanned and phones calls unanswered. All this while trying to get a car to take my dad to Baltimore for chemo.
