Backus properties are phenomenal. I moved into an apartment on an annual lease. It was a great, and honest management company. All of the staff members are very resourceful and understanding. Cindy, Michelle and Celeste all are wonderful and I had the best experience from my housing because of them giving me the opportunity to their tenant. As a responsible, well respected teacher in our community, I must say that doing business with Backus has been a serious let-down. I will do my best to inform my community and help others avoid the morally corrupt business practices that my family has endured. After years of tenancy with Backus, I can honestly say, rent from anyone else.

Anyone giving a decent review of Backus Properties has clearly not moved out of their property yet, are posing as tenants or must be offered an incentive to write a positive review. They spend over two months to do repairs and then gave us receipts that are completely fabricated for the money they withheld.

Very good propriety management. The office has bery nice staff and I believe they are a good working company and don’t deserve such reviews given.

If there was a no star I wouldnt give them any stars. They try to rob you. In their contract it says not to paint or try to fix walls. But if they think it needs cleaning or fixing theyll just paint over it cause it more cost efficient. I rented a 3 bedroom front them for over 3 years I cleaned my walls every week I was very clear to my 2 kids to not touch walls or drag feet. After paying 1500 monthly on time every time theyre trying to say the place needs cleaning and fixing theyre trying to keep my 1600 dllr deposit..it doesnt take 1600 to paint the place. They should of just let me paint the place myself. When I moved in it was in decent condition. I left that place better and cleaner than what they rented to me..

Terrible! If you rent with them, expect not to get your deposit back. We are a military family and have moved multiple times and never have had to pay what they claim damages are. This is coming from a family with zero pets. I cant imagine what it would have cost if we did. Honestly as nit pickey as they were, you will need to barely live in the house. DO NOT hang anything up or that will be another ding on the move out. They also make it to where you dont really have a choice to use any other vendors but the ones they recommend which are crazy expensive. They wont even provide you a legit invoice for what you are paying. Save yourself the headache and money. Dont do it!

You need to lower your deposit fee, how can a persone pay $2100 + fee and 1st months rent? And update your rentals they are outdated!

My Family and I have conducted buisnes (rent) with Buckus Properties for a few years now, within those years they would charge my family as well as other tenants with any thing they could find. If somethings such as a light fixture goes out. Theyll charge you and claim were at fault making us pay for light fixtures, one time we had inspection and they came 2 days early. So nobody was home. Now I realize were renting but dont come into someones home without them knowing days before you said youd be coming. Bottom line is if youre fortunate enough to find anywhere else to rent other than Buckus Properties I would recommend you doing so; I Thank God for blessing me and my family with a better home. Be careful with these people, try to collect the most possible applications to keep the $ 45 of the applications, or credit check And steal the money. The housing authority should do something against them. They also demand many more requirements that neither the property is worth ..

They robbed me with 4 applications $ 45 each and I didnt even want to check the creditAnd they only send a notice that you do not qualify without any signature or anything professional !!!! 😡
