This Inn has been upgraded. The experience is greatly enhanced by getting a room with a Day Room attached. Having a small wet bar on the other side if a Pony Wall from the bed makes the room feel like a suite. It is quiet, and comfortable. I will come here again when in our Capitol city.

Great and friendly hotel employees team. They are kind, polite, and quick to offer assistance. Under renovation but still able to accommodate well above satisfactory. Very Quiet Rooms, Smoke Free, and Undercover Parking! Security and cameras were on property my vehicle had zero issues. Thank You For A Great Experience

The room was great. Large and clean. We had been on a long drive and were happy to relax. The only issue we had was that the gentleman at the front desk seemed very unorganized and overwhelmed. It almost felt like we were being an inconvenience by trying to get into our room. My boyfriend was a bit upset about it.However! We had a very pleasant conversation with ahmeel who was working the late shift. He was friendly and very professional. He was even able to tell us about some local hot spots in town. After our experience checking in we were ready to just leave and call it good. Ahmeel definitely turned our bad experience into a pleasant one.

First lets start with comfortable beds! Bedding was questionable. 🤣This hotel is a whole mood its self. I got a haunted mansion vibe. Seriously! Awesome lobby with veau chandeliers. Rooms were clean and very big. The gentlemen checking us I was so kind in th evening. Breakfast was legit.

Positive: The room was large. We were at the end of the hall so it was quiet. Negative: The elevator was so slow and old. They advertised it was remodeled but they need to either have 2 elevators or put in a new one.

Stayed there 7/11/2021. Was told the hot tub was not working and they were waiting on a part. We asked about the pool and they stated it was not open. There were mattresses stacked in the pool area and the water was green. Room was clean but very old. Sockets & outlets were yellow instead of white. The room smelled musty. It was just gross. And it was next to the biggest homeless encampment Ive ever seen. Very trashy.

Strange, rooms available on all the web sites which I hate because of all the crazy rules. But when I called for a room the desk clerk really didnt care to help, and suggested we use one of one of the well known web sites.So I took my business to La quinta and a nice lady on the phone.

Dirty hotel that has not been remodeled like it says! Rooms were dirty, hallways and stairwells smelled so bad like old food. People that hung outside were very scary smoking dope with stray dogs. Felt very unsafe here! Dont stay here! Spend the money and stay across the street!

We booked a stay for 6 nights. They skipped cleaning our room twice. We had to go down both time to get towels and such from the front desk. They didn’t make the beds another time because the hotel remote control was left on the bed. They said they couldn’t make the bed because I left a personal item on it. When I spoke with the front desk regarding the room the first time, the house keeper was there. She rudely said our room was skipped because they were understaffed. I won’t be staying here again.

We want to give a huge shout out to Amele at the front desk. His customer service skills were amazing and greatly appreciated when we arrived at midnight after a very long drive and our reservation that was paid in full through a third party booking site could not be located. Needless to say, we were not happy to hear this and there were no more rooms available. Amele made some calls to management and the whole team went above and beyond to accommodate this unfortunate situation. We were eventually put up in a room and even though they hadn’t received payment yet, we were not held accountable for any additional payment. We were assured they would work directly with the third party to figure out payment and took the responsibility off of us. We were very grateful and happy with the outcome and all that Amele did to help. Thank you!

Older hotel, say newly renovated - but not from what I could tell. Over priced for the stay

This place makes me extremely uncomfortable. Pile stuff in front of my door uncomfortable. The hotel smells like stale smoke. The outside gave me the creeps at night. They have security which does and doesn’t make me feel better because why do you need security? A lot of the other guests gave me creepy feelings. I checked out after 2 nights of my 5 night stay. If my kid hadn’t been asleep I would have left during my 2nd night. Do not stay here. The area is horrible. Salem needs to clean up their streets before this place can be decent.

Had to ask for another room because it smelled cigarettes smoke, new room was much better.

I was at this hotel over the weekend, on business. The staff was super nice, accommodating, worked out an upgrade to my room, and was the most pleasant weekend hotel experience I can remember. Will definitely go back if in that area.

I have found the Shilo Inn Suites in Salem, Oregon to be better than most of the Motel I have stayed at. Most of the staff seems focused on bring professional, courteous and make an effort to attend to their customers.

Staff was nice me n my friend had a problem with a transaction that had happened, the staff well the girl that worked at the front desk was very pleasant, helped us with the problem we had, refunded what needed to b and more, we stayed a few nights, rooms were nice good stay will visit again.

Rooms Are beautiful and spacious .. I just wish that there werent so many dang stairs .

Been here a couple months. Nice room two queen beds, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, large 42+ LG television, am fm radio. Extra drawers for clothes, large counter top space, hot water shower. Nice room. Desk/ comfortable rolling chair for you computer/ business needs . Fast 2.4Ghz/5Ghz wifi with good signal strength. Make a reservation and come stay at Shiloh Inn. Breakfast provided. Almost Home restaurant short walk away across parking lot. McDonalds drive through around corner on Hawthorne avenue.

Staff treats guest pretty bad. Especially those with housing vouchers. We were locked in the building between 10pm - 6am. Was judged the minute we got there. Wish Dawn the manager was nicer... She treated others and staff horribly.

Big rooms lots of exercise. One of the best values in Salem or for salem (solame), pool. Excellent Rooftop patio and music.

They boast about how it’s newly remodeled that’s a joke. The only thing that’s been redone is the floors. The bathrooms weren’t finished. The room smelled terrible and the elevator is a cluster. It’s so slow we had to wait for over 10 minutes and it stops when it shouldn’t so people keep getting off on the wrong floor making it take even longer. The beds are kind of comfortable and that’s about the only good thing I can say.

The room is very nice. The staff are very helpful, caring, as well as very respectful towards everyone staying there. They are very trustworthy and respectful towards your property in the room also. You do not need to worry about theft or anything on a negative basis with this place at all.

The staff first of all is 100 percent on top if it the rooms are kept very clean and if you dont want room service to come in cut they do such an excellent job no worries they will get your towels and trash for fresh ones I think they are all around an excellent place and and a good price to stay at

Wasn’t impressed at all here. Staff was nice and helpful but our room was unsatisfactory. Sheets smelled like sour laundry. Fortunately we had an extra pullout bed. The Jr. Executive Suite didn’t match the name.

Stayed at Shilo on Aug.21,2020. no hot water in the morning, found empty water bottle under one bed, empty wrapper under second bed, moved table lamp to hook up cpap machine and found a dirty ring where lamp was. When checking out, informed front desk. She said they would let house keeping know. We werent offered a discount. Room did looked clean but did not expect these issues, with corona virus around us all. Have our doubts now.

The room is clean, quiet neighborhood. But renovating with linoleum flooring means you hear EVERYTHING walking around. Also, the ac had a weird sound like a kid laughing. Kept us awake until we figured it out.

Staff kept the room clean and well stocked. If I needed more of something they were willing to give what I was asking for. The nearby McDonalds and Almost Home restaurant makes getting something to eat easy. For those who care, Wonderland is a stones throw away.

Absolutely DISGUSTING. The stairwells smell so bad of urine you gag. The parking lot is unlit and unsafe and I was not only afraid for myself but for my belongings and automobile as well. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Countless people hang out in and around the buildings past midnight

Really clean. Bathroom door closes very quietly. A luxurious place to stay. Highly recommend if its in your price range. 5/5 WILL stay again.

The rooms were clean beds were pretty good for comfort I would have liked to have more towels and more pillows. Friendly and courteous staff. Steam room was not working but sauna did call could have been a little warmer and tell should have been provided at the poolside. Pretty clean in the lobby and in the pool area.

Rooms were clean but didnt put new coffee mugs in the room, not one day and I stayed 5 nights. The room was spacious and inviting but you could hear everybody walking up and down the hall. The breakfast was lacking but would still get your day started off right. Its a nice hotel bit could use a little more attention to details.

Very nice place. The manager Nicole is amazing and really goes out of her way to help anyway she can. Nicole says she lobes her job, and it shows!!!!! Room was nice and the bed was very very comfy. Pool, hot tub, sauna/steamroom, and small gym round out why a person should stay.

The staff here is amazing & very hard working. Although this hotel is needing some remodeling, what they are redoing is well done! Breakfast offerings are good & those of us who are more health conscious have access to eggs verses processed foods.Thank you for making our stay a very good one & will highly recommend your hotels to those traveling. We are East coast people on our first visit to OR and heave been greatly blessed,

Positive: Ease of access off I5 Negative: Bed linens smelled like sour laundry. As did the entire room. Was not “remodeled†as stated.

Negative: No room key. No heat. Dirty. Shady clientele. Unsafe parking. Police and ambulance activity. We checked right out.

The staff was fantastic! Ever so willing to help! The pool was clean and warm. The Jacuzzi was wonderful and hot. The room immaculate and larger than I thought it would be, the price was outstanding! Especially for the value.

This is the worst place to stay no key card had to be let in your room every time you returned, heater inop and broken apart, we didnt even stay we checked out and went to the Holiday Inn and what a difference I recommend the Holiday Inn to anyone also the elevator took for ever at the shilo and unclean shady people hanging out in the parking lot, I have nothing good to say about the Shilo Inn of Salem Oregon very sad 😥

Weve stayed here several times, and its always clean and comfortable. The lady at the front desk is helpful and friendly. Their parking lot is a bit weird, the large lot in front is not their property, but that isnt too terrible.

Nice and quiet hotel. Staff very friendly. Breakfast is good too. We always stay here when visiting Salem over night.

Room was great! Breakfast was nice. Only real downside was they definitely shut the heat off for the pool which was freezing. Kind of a let down for me and my daughters who had been looking forward to the pool.

The pictures look cleaner and nicer than the actual hotel. Me and my best friend came for her birthday and there was a bunch of flies in the main lobby. It was super unorganized and dirty looking in the lobby too, and many drugged out people coming in and out and also hanging around the building. The room was actually pretty clean looking, not like any other hotels i’ve stayed in.. but clean for what I noticed about the lobby/outside of hotel. The breakfast area is small too, and looks unsanitary. Lastly, the elevator is super sketchy and slow. Wouldn’t recommend coming here with a family...

As far as customer service- awesome!Rooms and bed are very clean and comfortable. Other guests were only problem I noticed... someone let their dog piss in the elevator and left it, lame, but front desk cleaned it promptly. Was disappointed with breakfast. Just bread, biscuits, gravy, cereals, yogurt- no sugar... they said supplies ran out, so might not be the norm for breakfast. But I would stay again. 20% military discount.

Its great for a budget hotel. The morning breakfast is nice and soaking in the hot tub and swimming was fun! The rooms are clean and spacious. Beds comfortable. The only reason I gave a 4 instead of a 5 is for dirty looking elevator and slowness and horrible screeching sounds! They assured me its safe.

Staff was very friendly. The rooms and breakfast were decent. Unfortunately my room had an odd smell upon entry and it was freezing cold. I tried to turn on the heat but nothing happened. The location is pretty sketchy, and your room doesnt have a backup lock like most hotels do. I dont think Id stay here again.

When we first came in we could see that things looked out of date and thought that they need a remodel. But when we got into our room everything was really nice and mostly up to date. Its good that they put the rooms first when remodeling! And the bed was very comfortable!

Bad neighborhood, which is no fault of the establishment. Lots of questionable comings and goings. There was an alarm set off at 2am that wasnt able to be disabled for over 20 minutes. Very disappointing cleanliness, especially with the current pandemic.

For the price it was perfect. Clean, newly remodeled rooms, breakfast included and a restaurant right across the parking lot. Pet friendly also. Tray was on shift when we checked in and he was Friendly, polite, helpful and just a nice person.

I may be a little biased when it comes to Shilo Inns because I work here. I absolutely love My co-workers. They are the best ever to work with. I really enjoy my job. The general manager, Pam Urben, is an amazing manager. And I love working here. This is why I have worked for her for over 20 years!! The atmosphere in the hotel is set to outstanding. ALWAYS!!!

I stayed in the executive suite with my sister and daughter. The first night we went to get on the elevator it did not work. So the guy at the desk said sorry youll have to take the stairs. We climbed the 4 flights of stairs to get to our room with our suitcases and other things that were heavy. By this time I was thinking I should get a discount. But then the whole next day the elevator was still broken so up and we continued up and down 4 flights of stairs where there was dog poop. I asked the lady at the desk to please move me to a lower floor she said she couldnt. Then we only got 1 towel in our room. And due to covid the pool and breakfast is closed. They did offer a bagel or muffin. But I think that they shouldnt be able to charge extra for breakfast at that point. I was highly disappointed with my stay. When the elevator finally did work it was so slow I was scared to ride it. I will not be back to the shilo.

Shilo Inns are exactly as advertised. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Ive stayed in several of them over the years, and I have always received a nice room at a reasonable price. This time I booked a standard room with two queen beds, when I arrived and they discovered I was by myself they gave me a free upgrade to a king bed suite. Upgraded or not, I would stay here again.

The rooms are large, clean, & smells good. The large king size bed was heavenly. I appreciate not hearing people in the parking lot, adjacent rooms or doors, people walking/talking in the hallways, once we closed our door it was just us. The breakfast was better than I expected with a wide variety. We Will be back again and again. Thank office staff and domestic help for your friendly and helpful assistance.

Recent updates to decor look nice. Always clean rooms, clean pool, clean hot tub. Friendly desk staff. Good beds. Good continental breakfast buffet includes biscuits and gravy and self made waffles among other choices. The new chairs at the tables in the suites are too narrow for some bodies. Excellent value on rooms in this hotel!

Team of 8 bowlers with their parents here for 2 nights. When reservations were made they offered a pool and hot tub. Arrived today, pool is broken. 😡Not a great way to start off with our stay. ☹I Hope there is enough room for us in the morning for our continental breakfast.

Room was clean but they were out of most supplies for the room. We had no shampoo, only 1 bar of soap, and the coffee station wasn’t stocked. In addition, every soda machine in the hotel was out of everything except Coke. Lady at front desk was very sweet.

I couldn’t post unless I gave 1 star. I wouldn’t have given that. We planned a trip and booked this hotel days in advance. We came to check in two hours After check in time to be told our room isn’t ready. I witnessed two employees argue (a man and a woman) at the front desk. The guy smacked the wall before he walked away. I went to the car and my husband went in and he said the front desk clerk was teary & puffy-eyed when another female employee walked in and was bragging about how she told a guest off. We waited in the parking lot for an hour before we decided to cancel with them. We booked at the Hamptons and they had our room ready right then! The Hampton Inn is cleaner, staff is more professional, indoor pool, and they have a breakfast buffet!

They didnt have a extra cot for kids. We just had to sleep on the floor. I lost a jacket I stuffed into a pillow case, called and no one got back to me. Hot tub needed cleaned and the pool could have been a little warmer. On the less expensive side.

Great support at the desk. Needed a charger for my phone and the gal at the desk was willing to lend me the one from her car. They seem to be updating there carpets and some interior spaces so in the future, they should be looking a little more modern. Thanks for the good stay!

Room was spacious and clean. The rest of the hotel is fine, not great, but not disgusting. Our main problem was parking. If you have anything bigger that a compact size car you will have difficulty . A full size truck is hard, but forget about staying here if you have a trailer of any size. They have virtually NO parking for a truck with trailer. When you pull up it looks like they have a whole parking lot that you can use and just take 2 spots, but this lot is actually owned by a restaurant right there. We were threatened that our truck and trailer would be towed for parking there but had no where else to go. We asked to park in the front by the doors and were told no because an employee was going to park there.

The location is great, right off the highway, yet also in the middle of town. The rooms are reasonably clean and well maintained, lots of space and nice amenities. Id definitely recommend the hotel for travelers, though its not the fanciest around (it doesnt break the bank)

The rooms are big so after a long day in the car my kiddos got to stretch some legs, they are pet friendly and the staff were all super friendly. The guy on night shift went above and beyond. I am hauling a trailer loaded with lawn equipment for work and during the night someone pulled up and tried taking my stuff. The night person ran out hollered at them and from then on watched my truck all night. Amazing staff.... thank you so much

This place has all the signs of a poorly managed hotel. We visiting about a month ago now and arrived a few hours after our reservation. As soon as we walked in the warning signs were there. There was a long wait and everyone looked grumpy. We quickly found out that some of there cleaning staff had quit (apparently) and many people were waiting for hours for their rooms. When we finally did get to our room, we found used condoms in the room. Spend the extra cash and visit one of the nicer hotels in Salem.

Seems good to me. Room is large, clean, well kept. Has an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, and a treadmill. They offer free continental breakfast.My only complaint is that the elevator is extremely slow, and only 3 floors. Only stairs lead to outside, not the lobby. Everything else seems good.

Literally does everything a hotel needs to do well. Very spacious rooms, a diverse and filling morning breakfast (their gravy and biscuits are fantastic), comfortable beds, its quiet, shower pressure is good. Rooms are clean, internet is fast - or at least not slow. All in all a wonderful place to stay, especially considering the relatively cheap price. I would recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Portland.

Decent nights stay in a clean but old facility. We booked late so it was more expensive than we normally would have paid for a room. Nice and accommodating staff.

This is the most disgusting hotel Ive ever been to. The staff made us feel guilty for even staying because they were going to have to clean our room. ITS YOUR JOB!! The pool was gross with green slimy water, the food was horrible and the 4th floor smells like another guest died a few months ago. Wouldnt recommend!!!!

The actual hotel was ok. The maids, however, are thieves. They stole from us. We confronted them and the front desk. It was obvious the one maid was guilty. Contacted upper management and corporate. Both acted as though they were concerned and would look into it. Said they would get back to us and never did. That was almost 3 months ago. Buyer beware. Stay somewhere else.

The afternoon clerk went out of her way to be accommodating. She was orchestrating a one man band of sorts as had to do everything without help. Wished she had some relief for breaks!
