When I found out my car was giving a transmission code reading, I immediately became concerned. A dependable vehicle is my top priority as I just relocated to the area for nursing school, and I do not know anyone here. I shared my car repair anxiety with my neighbor and told her of the horror stories of mechanics ripping off newbies that add to my frustration. She referred me to this AAMCO location and told me that Matt would be able to help me out and ease my anxiety.I called Matt on Thursday and explained my situation, I was immediately impressed with the amount of respect and attention he gave me just over the phone (other shops rush to get you off the phone and into the shop). I dropped my car off on Friday and received a detailed breakdown of why I was getting the code and all my available options (the diagnostic was free). He took time to make sure I understood all the details and answered all my questions no matter how repetitive they were and throughout the process I could tell he was not misleading me.If you are looking for honest diagnostics and repair on your vehicle, I only recommend this location. They go above and beyond, even put gas in my car to conduct a thorough test drive. This type of service is rare these days and I am glad to have experienced it.

Brought my 2014 Kia Sorento LX in because I had a flapping noise that I could not pinpoint the source that was causing it. The tech first thought it was an axle issue but after taking it off he discovered it was not the issue for the noise. After process of elimination he discovered the source of the noise was coming from my brakes. So he greased them and the noise went away. Saved me from spending unnecessary $$ and gained a customer in return. Couldnt be more pleased.

Matt was very friendly and professional. He made sure that I got the best deal and fair shake with my warranty company to cover as much out of pocket cost as he could. The job was done in a reasonable amount of time and Now my car runs great. Definitely recommend them for all your automotive needs!

I had an appointment set up for 09:30. I arrived 15 minutes early, the manager got the car immediately into the shop for a scan on the electrical system. (Car battery was draining for some unknown reason when it set for 2 days or longer.) Finding that everything electrical checked out positive after the scan, the manager then explained to me that there would be no charge, as well as explaining the next step in the process that should be examined. I told him that I would drive the car, let it set and see if the problem persisted. If so, I would be back. So far, no problems. Having worked on vehicles and taken an auto mechanics course in my past, I found the shop organized and clean, the manager and his staff friendly, knowledgeable, honest and efficient. Solid way to do business.

I was referred here by my young son who had just brought his car in for major work, he gave me such a great report that when my car had an issue I called up and spoke with Matt. Told that I needed a rebuild on a 2016 with 80,000. Went to another transmission shop they serviced the transmission. No burnt fluid that the aamco guy told me.

Got the old todays not going to be my day light on my trucks dashboard. Called in and spoke on the phone to discuss options, and brought in to have them run some diagnostics. The guys were able to work up a plan after that, and I brought the truck back in a few days to get fixed up. Seth and his team were awesome from beginning to end. From reading other reviews, I believe theres a new store manager now. Polite, informative, courteous, helpful, prompt, and straight forward... those are the ways I can describe my interaction. Y’all don’t go to this shop!! The manager Seth is very rude and unprofessional! Quoted me a 2-3 hour diagnostics on the phone, then moved it to two days later after dropping it off, then when I told him that wasn’t acceptable based on his initial call of 2-3 hours, he then said we could come back and get it. I stated it was already there so I would just leave it but we would definitely have made a different decision knowing this ahead of time. Thennn he calls my husband and leaves him a voicemail that it’s best for us to pick it up and take it elsewhere! SETH quoted 2-3 hours and then is upset that we are upset that he lied?? Then To call and say come get it??! Who would want to do business at a shop like that!!!

My mother needed her A/C fixed in her car. She went up there and was quoted an outrageous amount. She told me about it and I recommended my mechanic. Beat the price by half and did not use cheap parts. Felt like this place was trying to take advantage of a seventy-five year old woman. Very disappointing.

Spent almost $3,000 to rebuild the transmission, A couple of months after the 18 month warranty expired the transmission blew up completely causing also the engine to seize up and completely break. Now I have a shell of a truck with a blown engine and blown transmission and it only cost me almost $3,000 to get that to happen.

I needed a few things for my 2005 Nissan Quest and had been to a few auto repair shops. The gist of all those interactions was, I would need to spend upwards of $2500 to get it fixed. Then I went to AAMCO, there I met Mr. Keith Geir, he initially estimated $1100 to get the issues fixed after performing a detailed diagnosis (at no cost).I left my car with them and 2 days later, I went to pickup my car. Keith told me that they were actually able to salvage a part, that would otherwise cost $350. I was glad but also surprised at their honesty. They could have easily got a new part and applied labor towards it, but they didnt!!Keith is very professional, patient and understanding and takes the effort to get your questions answered and then works with you to determine the best course of action.In my experience, with AAMCO I received the most honest, competent and reliable service at a reasonable cost. Thank you Keith and AAMCO team!!!

I do not recommend this shop. My mother went there needing her check engine light (related to the transmission) to be fixed in order to renew her registration. The place did not exude confidence as the manager did not know the difference between the trip meter and the odometer in the car.Fast Forward, two days and we have yet to receive any word on the car. Finally, after reaching out we get a call the next day. We were informed that there was an internal problem with her transmission. The options presented to my mother were a transmission rebuild for $3.5k or a full transmission replacement for $5.5k. The mechanics were also afraid to drive it. (Note: this car only has approx 75k miles on it and no drivability issues). No intermediary options we offered.We picked up the car (Free Diagnostic, which was nice) the next day and took it to a recommended transmission shop. After leaving it there for the night it turned out to be a wiring problem they found right away and fixed for less than $500.At the end of the day, I hope that the mechanics were just unintelligible rather than trying to make a quick buck off a lady who they thought might not know any better.

These guys are great! Had several things being repaired on my car and they got it all done in one day. HONEST and FAIR! My car wouldnt shift out of first and was really not working right. I was at the dealership and was quoted $5800 for a new transmission. My car wasnt even worth that much. I called Aamco for another opinion and they said I could bring it in for a FREE diagnostics that it may be something simple. After 20 minutes with them looking at it, Adam, the Manager told me it just needs a simple sensor! For less than 200 dollars my car runs great. Adam could have taken advantage of the situation but he didnt. I felt like he actually cared about just getting my car fixed and not just my wallet. I would recommend this shop to anyone. I send my college aged daughter there without any fear of them ripping her off. Im an AAMCO customer for life!

Great service and fast to boot. Pete is excellent and knowledgeable. The mechanics know what they are doing there. I have 2006 F150 5.4L that needed some work. I had them do a tune up on it and the plugs have a notorious reputation of breaking of in the head. These guys got them out with no issues. They only fixed what was broken and they shoot straight. I usually dont write reviews unless some place and people really impress me. This shop managed to do so and I would recommend them to my grandmother. If your looking for an up and up shop then this is the spot.

I do all the servicing on my own vehicles. But if Im ever having trouble diagnosing Wes and his guys are the only place all bring anything. Very honest and very straight forward. They arent looking to up sell only to help. If there ever is anything I cant do in my own garage I know I can trust them to do it for me.

I live in Round Rock & was looking for a trust-worthy place to have my transmission looked at. This is the place to go. Keith was awesome. Quick, efficient and honest.

My check-engine light was on and the car was running rough. I took it in to have it diagnosed. They suggested over $1800.00 in parts and labor to include a alternator and power-train control module. Getting a second (and third) opinion, which everyone should do, I ended up at the dealership who diagnosed something completely different. The problem was a solenoid. It was repaired for free under an extended power train warranty I didnt know I had. If I had to buy it, the replacement part would have been less than $100. Always get a second opinion.

I purchased a lemon from Drivetime,Found this location to look over my car, first person to meet is Keith and he is a oasis in the desert....He fought for work to get done to my car!!! a shifty warranty company and successfully had them pay for oil leak(s) brakes,alignment and the air conditioner!!!!the mechanic is very knowledgeable and discovered an additional leak!(also repaired) I am extremely satisfied with there strive to go far out and beyond for there customers satisfaction...As long as I am in Texas they will remain my number 1..Thanks again Keith and Reynaldo!!

From the insidious quote to the story I heard of the shop manager being absurdly late to open shop and loosing a new employee because of it, I just cant imagine how this place has managed to stay open. Thankfully we shopped around and found a great place across the highway that did the transmission rebuild on my 04 avalanche for almost half what AAMCO was trying to get out of me.

Got a transmission quote from the dealer.... recovered from the heart attack.... went to AAMCO in Round Rock. They were very understanding, gave me a reasonable quote, provided an explanation of the repair process & possible variables... very professional. The price was 30% below the dealer cost, the work was completed quickly & the vehicle returned in excellent shape. I had another problem a couple of weeks following the repair. It was unrelated, but it affected the transmission function (thank you, genius automakers - sarcasm intended). The repair was done shade-tree style, causing the engine/transmission malfunction. Chris (Aamco) was very understanding (did not treat me like an idiot for trying to repair the car on my own) & took care of the improper repair, cleared the engine codes & double-checked the transmission function. All is good & I am an incredibly happy customer! I will definitely call on these guys in the future!

I brought by car in for a fueling problem and they were very quick to diagnose it as a fuel pump issue. As it was going to be a pricy fix, I took it back in a couple weeks later and had it fixed. The service was great and Jason, the customer service manager, even put up with my calling every few hours to check on the progress! When I picked up my car, everything worked fine. The ONLY issue I have had so far is that my range was still reading 0 miles, turns out they did not disconnect the battery before/after the repair to reset the computer. I did that when I got home and all is well!

The place looked sketchy and was in deed not a place I would ever leave my vehicle. There are 10 or 12 broken down cars with parts hanging out in the parking lot. I went in anyway and talked to the lady at the counter. She told me to give her my keys without any paperwork. I asked how long in would take and she opened the sliding window to the shop and screamed at some guy out there. I heard him say $150. She said “no how long will it take” he didn’t know. She closed the wind and turned to me saying she didn’t know. I said how much is the diagnostic fee. She looked me in the eye and said I don’t know. I told her “ your website says it’s free. She said I really don’t know how much. I wouldn’t leave my truck if she couldn’t tell me. I walked out.Keep away. This is a auto hostage shop!

Great overall service

I took my Nissan Pathfinder here a few times for service. The first time they misdiagnosed a problem with the rear suspension and replaced the wrong parts, failing to solve the problem. I gave them another chance, spend several hundreds more after the initial $1000+, and they finally got it right. I figured they were only human the first time and didnt hold it against them. Big mistake!Later I brought the same vehicle in to get the AC charged up and fix an oil leak. A couple of weeks after getting the vehicle back I went to check my oil and discovered they never put the oil dip stick back under the hood!Of course they insist it wasnt them.Furthermore, the AC was only a few degrees cooler than before, and a month later I couldnt tell it had been serviced at all.This location has ensured Ill never use any other AAMCO anywhere.

Let me tell you about Daniel. He is amazing. I have a 2006 Chevy Equinox with 119,000 miles and never had a minutes trouble out of it. Last year my heater quit blowing hot air, but the cool air was fine. I researched possible causes and to my horror, it all pointed to the blend door being broken or stuck which was costing people almost $1,000 to fix because it involved the whole dash being torn apart to get to it. Not a cost even remotely in my budget, so I toughed out the winter without heat. Six months ago I called the dealership I bought the car from to see if there was a recall on this part. They asked for my VIN number, came back and said no. So a couple of weeks ago, I decided to take it to AAMCO in Round Rock just to see what the problem actually was, so at least I would know. I e-mailed my problem to them and Daniel promptly called and we discussed it. He agreed it might be the blend door but didnt think it was a hard fix. Took it over on an agreed upon day, and after having the car all day, he told me he found a bulletin under my VIN number that covered my car problem from GM for a free fix on my year model for 10 years or up to 120,000 miles, so I was just under the wire. I was astounded as I had never heard anything about this and it had been out since 2012. The dealer didnt tell me that either when I called about my problem six months earlier. He only charged me the 50 dollars to check out my car and Im so grateful to Daniel for giving me the information I needed to get the dealer to fix my car free of charge, as I had been so stressed out about needing this done. As for the dealer I chose to take my car to, they fixed it but drug out the process much too long and kept my car for four days claiming they couldnt figure out the problem, after I told them what it was. Daniel also told me the fix was using a special tool that didnt require taking the dash apart. My guess is they wanted to fix paying customers before me, a warranty job. So thanks to Daniel and he is getting all my repair business.

Got my ac working!

We have taken all of our cars to them and every time the service has been excellent. In fact they found a problem on our new Mini Van that may have save us, because the dealer that we purchased it from had not done their job and found another more dangerous problem when AAMCO recommended that we take into the Dealer for repairs on the engine problem that was covered under warranty,

We were traveling the country and got stuck for several days trying to figure out what was wrong with the car and within 2 hours they had the car up and running!!! Alex was amazing and the crew had amazing energy!!!!! 11/10

I had my transmission rebuilt here and less than two months later it had to be rebuilt again then within two weeks time my shifter cable is melted to the exhaust leaving me to get under and manually change gears this shop does not have good service at all

Terrible experience at this place, i wont ever came back here and dont recomend it to any one, if you loking for honest, responsable and knowledgeable mechanic, this not the place foryou, it is to expencive and onestly it dosent wort it, and lets be clear my intencion is no to hurt this bussines my intention here is to prevent pepol like me to ben taken for a ride, check other places even other amco location, this one desapointed mi big time, i chose this place to fixt my car becouse of the positive reviews but, it was a mistake and i did pay for it, but if you hate you money and dont care about this thinks maybe this is the rigthe place for you! Sorry amco transmissions you are not the place.

I took my Mazda truck here because the A/C was not working. After paying the repair bill and being assured several times by the manager that the A/C was working great and would not give me any trouble, it stopped working again within 24 hours of leaving the shop. I contacted the manger back and he told me to bring it back. After looking at it again for several hours, he contacted me and told me that I would need to now pay an additional $300 to get it working properly. When I asked him what about his assurance that the A/C was fixed not just 24 hour prior, he told me this was a separate issue. I asked him what about the warranty and do they not stand behind their work and their word, he just got upset. I took my truck and went to leave and if this all wasnt enough, as I was leaving, the MANAGER was outside trash talking me to his fellow mechanics in the garage. Very unprofessional and unethical. Defiantly would not recommend this place.
