Our son recently started at K3. His first 2 classes were with Johnny and my son LOVED it. He cant wait to go back. We struggle with getting out son to listen to instructions and Johnny was incredibly thorough. He was the perfect level of friendly while also holding the authority level my son needs in order to listen and respond. I was hesitant that my son wouldnt follow the commands in class but have been really happy to see that he has. I appreciate that K3 encourages the kids to follow the requirements in order for reward. This is incredibly valuable in a childs learnings of putting in hard work in order for the pay off. I really enjoy seeing the level of respect the students have in K3. The leaders care so much about the progress of the students and their achievements, that is very clear. We cant wait to continue with our classes!
Johnny had not been very professional he was rude to my child. My kid does not even want to return and more embarrassing I ask kindly to cancel they bill me a month ahead and stated they can’t accommodate my desire to cancel until I am able to sign in personHowever they require online payment up front prior to their promised first three sessions which turn out to be a joke !! Literally took 30 minutes to have my son stand on a line take his shoes off took his time meeting with another parent and speaking to coworker than cut us off at 18 minsSecond private lesson.he told my child to read, and repeat it take his shoes off and promised him a belt and uniform third class…still failed to keep the promise and cut private lesson to 20 minsScam and a joke if this person act in whole on behalf of the company has the worst integrity and unprofessionalThere should have been a willingness to work with me especially if it had been something my son finally wanted to try an activity.
Training at this dojo has been amazing. I look forward to class every week. I am excited about how strong and confident I have become as a result of training here.
From the start when I called to 11 months so far, everything has been well above expectations. Sensei Johnny has been professional and explained everything prior to signing up. Classes are extremely hard work, but fun. Great exercise while learning a skill, one I hope I never have to use, but a skill that is there if needed to protect my family and myself. I come early and watch some of the kids class prior to the adult class and all the instructors are engaging, encouraging, and professional while still having fun. Highly recommended!
The instructors there are very good about knowing what position you are in teaching you the next thing you need to know it’s also a great way to get in shape
I highly recommend K3 Martial Arts for fitness, self-defense, and self-confidence. Classes are well organized, intense, and cover real world scenarios. Sensei Johnny fosters an environment of hard work and supporting one another. Classes (at the time of this review) are all-belt and are structured so that students at all levels are supported and challenged. New students gain valuable skills right away.
Very professional, my 11 year old twins loved it, and they actually got my 2 teenage daughters to smile when they are away from their phones! 😂
This place is amazing! I originally went in for work out classes and the instructors told me about Krav Maga. It is definitely a work out that got my body in shape but also taught me some good self defense skills to know! My girlfriends and I love this class.
Great people! Feels like family! I’ve been going here for years and the company K3 Martial Arts is just AMAZING!
My daughter has been attending K3 since she was 5 years old, she is now 10. I think the fact that we have been here for 5 years says a lot about K3. Not only are the sensei’s helpful they make the classes fun for the kids too. The atmosphere of K3 is one that is supportive, encouraging, and fun. All the kids there are respectful not only of the instructors but the other kids as well. My daughter has made some great friends while at K3, and she always looks forward to going to class. Long story short I would highly recommend K3.
My 4 year old and myself go there. I love that some of the older students help with the little dragons that my son is in. The way these older students interact with the younger ones is awesome to see and gives me hope for the younger generation. K3 is a great place for the family to grow and train together.
Our girls have been attending K3 for nearly a year. We have seen a tremendous change in their attitudes and self discipline. The entire staff are very friendly and welcoming. All the instructors are amazing! The girls were in the after school program and we absolutely appreciated how responsible the staff was with getting the kids on time from school.Highly recommend K3 martial arts for everyone in the family!
We love going to K3 Martial Arts Center. My son and daughter have both increased their confidence! My daughter is now able to perform in front of an audience and use her voice. She even signed up for the talent show this year at school and read in front of her class. We also use the afterschool program and it has been wonderful and easy! They are always doing something, going somewhere, learning something new and hanging out with friends. I highly recommend K3. You become part of the family.
Best place to learn caring staff an amazing fitness program for confidence. God bless you.
Awesome program for the kids. My kids love going here and learning new things. Instructors make it fun for them, yet are very strict in making sure they maintain discipline and focus. Thanks K3.
We have been going to K3 for almost a year now and my daughter really enjoys it. The instructors do a great job and Doyle is always a pleasure to talk to about anything. While we like the continuous classes, we really love the summer camp option they have.
We love the feel of Team Dragon Star Karate. It is a great family environment. They have classes for the whole family. The instructors are awesome and the kids respond well to the way they teach. Our son has been going there for about a year and he loves it! We would definitely recommend it to anyone!
My son started karate at Team Dragon Star in May 2015, at the age of 12. He wasnt into sports and I wanted to find an activity he would enjoy, besides playing video games. He loves it, and is excited to go to practice - I dont even have to nag him to get off his video game to go. He likes the instructors and feels comfortable with them. He responds well to their badge-earning system (lots of positive reinforcement), and loves using the weapons. Hes earned his second level red belt and is looking forward to going all the way to his black belt. We really love K3 Martial Arts/Team Dragon Star. I highly recommend it.
I went to the studio because i didnt see any prices for classes online. When i got there, there was nobody at the front desk. The instructor that reluctantly answered, rudely asked me what I want. When i said i have some questiobs, he said he is the only one there and he is in a class. My only choice was to leave since i couldnt get any service.
My daughter has been going for almost two years and still loves going to classes. She has never been a part of any other sport where she used the term I Love going to classes This has been such a great experience for her. The classes are very engaging and help with focus and self discipline. All levels are welcomed. The staff and students are so supportive and generous with their time. This has been the best experience for her on all levels.Thank you!
Thank You Dragon Star Karate! You have made a huge impact in our sons life. We have noticed he has become more focused, confident, and disciplined. He absolutely loves participating and learning all the new moves. As his mother, I enjoy watching his enthusiasm and desire to continue to learn. He has joined other sports and activities; however, after a couple months he has gotten bored. He is going on over a year with Dragon Star Karate and he loves it. The instructors are kid friendly and driven to help the kids succeed.
My 4 year old son absolutely loves taking karate classes at K3 Martial Arts! Such a great dojo with fabulous instructors. He is learning so much and his confidence has been growing tremendously since starting classes. From self defense to important life lessons they really make there lessons come full circle for kids of all ages. Would definitely recommend!
My daughter has been attending martial art classes here for over two years now. The instructors are very thorough and encouraging, while instilling character, discipline and fun into their classes. My daughter’s self esteem has improved greatly and her natural leadership skills are being developed in a healthy way. Way to go K3!
K3 is a great program for kids! It helps with their confidence, the after school programs and camps are amazing, our son has so much fun going to them. They learn karate, meet friends, get help with homework ( in the afterschool program) and have many fun activities. The staff are helpful and kind it’s an amazing environment to be in.
I am a helicopter parent for sure.I have spent a lot of time at K3 with an after school program as well as martial arts and witness their programs from start to finish.Their martial arts programs are top notch and the senseis are all very good with the kids. After school activities include an excellent mindful meditation class with a very talented leader and many supervised activities including karaoke and a bouncy house for the kids.I would definitely recommend to any parent or child to get involved!
OUTSTANDING PROGRAM!! After one lesson we were convinced this was the right program for our children. K3 Martial Arts provides constant motivation and encouragement. We love how Sensei Johnny and the other instructors incorporate humour in their lesson which makes for a stress free environment. We are constantly amazed with the progress both our children are making. They love the program as much as we do!
We were struggling to find an after school activity for my six year old daughter since she was not interested in sports at all, and then she told me she would like to try karate. So she just started taking karate classes at K3 about 6 weeks ago and absolutely loves it! I am very impressed with the way the instructors teach the kids essential values and relate them to every day life. The school is very clean and well-managed.
The GREATEST PLACE FOR YOUR CHILDREN. Dawn does wounders with the kids. The hole crew is amaizing. These mighty human beings are truely Top notch.. You can not go wrong at this unbelievably affordable option for your young person.
We are very happy that this place was recommended to us. My daughter has excelled in these classes in a short period of time. The approach to teaching is very innovative and positive. Cant say enough great things here! You wont be disappointed.
My son started at K3 in Feb of 16 and in this short period we have witnessed his confidence, focus, discipline, and motivation improve dramatically. Everyone involved (both instructors and students) is encouraging and the program is challenging... We see tremendous growth each time he tests for a new stripe and pride in his accomplishments as he earns each new belt. We are so pleased with our decision to go with K3.
The instructors are very good and understanding with all the kids. They take time to make sure all students are listening to instructions and following them. My son has improved his attention span and loves going to class.
My young son was very shy and had a difficult time in team sports. We tried Martial Arts and it has been great. The instructors are wonderful and patient with the kids and yet set a high expectation and help them achieve it. I highly recommend K3 especially Sensei Johnny and Joey.
I was super nervous to start Krav Maga, but have been doing it for 2 months now and it is awesome!! The environment and the people here are awesome. I highly recommend it!!
The environment is high energy, positive, structured and lots of fun. Students receive the discipline and attention they need to reach their goals. It is a great place to get in shape and learn self defense. I have been there for about a month now and can already see the changes in my body and mind. I leave each class with more confidence than the last. i would recommend Dragon Star to all ages. Two Thumbs Way Way Up!
For our family 5 stars is simply the lowest we could give K3 - from day one each and every instructor has been a pleasure to work with and they are incredible with the kids - the growth we have seen in our children since being a part of K3 is beyond what we could have hoped for - both of our boys have gained so many great skills from the K3 program and for that THANK YOU! I know this a great program and environment when one of my sons told me I never want to stop going to karate, I think I want to be a teacher there someday - thank you to all of you at K3, looks like your stuck with us for years to come, smile!
My son started at K3 when he was 4.5 years old. Now he is 5 and a purple belt. This has show him respect, confident and disciplined. I recommend anyone to bring their son/daughter to K3 and watch them evolve into young kids/adults. This was the best decision I ever made.
My kids and I have been a part of Dragon Star Karate for 6 years. It has been a great place for the kids to learn about self discipline, respect and always trying to do their best! They have also both gained more confidence in themselves and that has transferred over into how they do in school. I also take classes at Dragon Star and due to the goals that I set for myself I lost 25 twenty five pounds and have kept it off for over 1 1/2 years now. I would recommend Dragon Star Karate for both kids and adults. Summer is a great time to try something new and learn some self defense and to stay active.
A shy little four year old started in this dojo. She is going on 10 and recently received her Jr. Blackbelt. This dojo and the staff have not only taught her courage, determination, responsibility and accountability, it has taught her family the same. Being an only child with a single mom, we as grandparents wanted to make sure she could face the challenges that life would bring her. K3 has instilled many great qualities in our granddaughter. She is not afraid to stand up in front of people and express herself. She is not afraid to speak up if she sees something wrong. She has turned into a compassionate young lady with excellent study habits. She is excelling in school and loves to read. The encouragement this staff provides is amazing. The look on her face when she completed her mile in the time needed for her blackbelt and sparkle in her eyes when she received her certificate, well that is enough to show this dojo is there for our kids. Thank you K3 for your support and encouragement and time you dedicate to these kids and to us as parents.
I am taking the adult krav maga class, and really enjoy it. Sensei Johnny does a really good job getting everyone of all abilities up to speed quickly. More advanced students also help everyone of all belts. It really is a fun and welcoming environment, and I highly recommend anyone to try it out!
My 8 year old son has ADHD, and has a hard time focusing and paying attention in school and other aspects of life. With the help of Karate instruction, given by the excellent instructors @ K3 Martial Arts, his focus, attention, and overall lifestyle has been greatly improved. He is more confident in things he does; walks with a swagger, and has become more successful in school. We owe it all to the K3 lifestyle and would highly recommend this for any and all children, regardless of physical or mental state (ADHD, etc.)
I took my son there today who just turned 4 for a private lesson to see if hes ready, I was very impressed with his instructor and the ground rules he laid up front that he expected which was following his rules and respect. My son had a difficult time after his dad and younger brother left the room so the instructor said to give him a month or two. We are very eager to try again when hes a little older and start martial arts for him here.
I liked the people that work there and that attend there. The program and the workout where good. I had some reservations at first because I saw an article about Doyle McMahan, the owner, referencing the place he ran in Florida. Apparently he couldnt control his finance/billing service, blamed them for over charging people and made a lot of people mad. It didnt help his case when he fled the state and had to face criminal charges. When I joined thats not the sort of person I saw so I thought all would be good. I signed up for the year program. I had to stop early due to medical reasons but understood I still owed on the contract and didnt try to get out of it. On the last month of my contract I asked Doyle to ensure I wasnt going to be charged anymore. He said everything was fine. I got charged one more time and asked why. When Doyle looked at their system it said I owed 4 more payments. When I checked my bank records I noticed for some reason they didnt charge me for one of the months so I did owe one more payment. What concerned me is that Doyle said I owed four more payments and the problem must be mine. When I tried quizzing him about the discrepancy between my records and his he acted like there was nothing he could do - a victim to his own system. I printed out my bank records and Doyle agreed to send them to his billing company. Up to this point he offered nothing to help me. If I hadnt called five times, gone in to see him three times and pushed the issue he was going to let the billing company keep charging me. This all started to sound just like what I read happened in Florida. When over a week went by after dropping off my bank records and I hadnt heard from anyone, I called Doyle to ask about the status. He picked up the phone and said if I made 12 payments I shouldnt have anything to worry about. I said as far as I know theyre still expected 3 more payments, nothing has been solved and he had not given me any comfort level that things were addressed. He then said If they take another payment then you can complain - then he hung up on me while I was talking. What kind of business ethic is this? I still have nothing in writing. Doyle has still not answered me. To protect myself I had to cancel my bank card so he cant play victim again and take more money. The program they offer is good but I have a hard time separating the integrity of the owner from the services he provides.
You guys need to learn not to scam people. I tried to quit, but was forced through a long and hard system of paper and reviews, just to leave. Johnny is rude to everyone.
K3 has helped the Creekview Ranch School PTA raise money with organizing Kids Nights. Their programs help kids gain confidence, discipline, and learn skills all in a fun environment. We received so much positive feedback from our parents and kids! We look forward to working with them again!!
This place is money hungry.... And it’s just wrong! I signed my son up for the 3 free classes and free uniform. Well they aren’t classes. We met twice with the main instructor.. we never got the 3rd “class”. At the end of the second met with the instructor I was presented a folder and where I was suppose to add my credit card for tuition. I felt pressured. My son was right there. I have no clue what the prices were since they don’t post online. I had no clue about the tuition fee. I ended up signing up because my son was watching ... it was December (the HOLIDAYS) and I spent almost $400 just to get him started. Then to find out they were closed down for part of the month... He’s 6... the prices are insane. Then to find out the classes are only 30 minutes. Then the unthinkable happened.... we had a huge family trauma and I called to cancel our one year sign up... because i literally couldn’t afford it. Yes less then one month later of signing up.... and I couldn’t. The guy who answered the phone just kept repeating that I was responsible for the one year tuition. I was floored that they didn’t have a cancellation policy. Well if I didn’t feel so much pressure to sign up on the spot maybe I would have read the agreement fully. Now I’m stuck with a bill I can’t afford. Do not sign up your kids here. Money HUNGRY! It’s so sad.I can’t afford. With no cancelation policy. It’s a joke. All about money.
Both my son and daughter started in the K3 Summer Camp after searching for the right program. K3 has been a wonderful and fulfilling place for both kids and they live every minute of their time. They have continued in the after school program and with Karate. Both are set to test for purple belt soon and they could not be more excited. k 3 has given them strength and confidence that I never dreamed they could have at such a young age! I highly recommend this dojo and karate program
Probably one of the best martial arts kids programs that can be found. Outstanding staff, excellent facility, Did I mention that the staff is outstanding.Sadly, the staff is often occupied in teaching and running the business, they dont have an email address, nor a voice mail, so if you have to try and take care of something, so not good.
Ive been a Krav Maga student here for 5 years (...and counting...). I have to say its been an incredible experience. The instructors are top notch and the dojo is a very encouraging and welcoming environment. On top of learning a practical and effective self defense system, you will also get a great workout! Sensei Johnny is a great instructor who brings out the best in all his students. Its been a pleasure to train with him and my fellow students. If youre looking to learn self defense that really works and get in great shape, this is your new dojo!
My daughter loves it here! The other kids in the class help her out and encourage each other. I love the fact that she has a place to go where the kids dont judge her on her performance like soccer and softball. In result her confidence is thru the roof! I owe it to Dragon Star.
My son started K3 a year ago and it is amazing how much he has learned. I love the involvement with school and parents. He takes it very seriously. We are very proud and would highly recommend to anyone.
K3 has enabled and encouraged my daughter to be a confident and respectful young lady. Sensei Johnny works extremely well with young kids and engages with them effectively. The classes are well orchestrated and tailored to each age bracket appropriately. The community that K3 has created is outstanding. Parents and kids are able to actively engage with each other even when not in class or training.Amazing Dojo. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for dedicated individuals to empower and encourage their children or themselves by ways of mixed martial arts.
I signed my son up at Dragon Star last March. Since then I have seen a huge change in him. He used to be shy and afraid to get up in front of people. Now he has a lot of confidence. He really enjoys his classes, and his instructors are amazing. They are so patient and they make it fun for the kids.
Wonderful instructors and a wonderful environment. My son loves the little dragons program and the day camp is an awesome perk as well.
Highly Recommended for Martial Arts Classes . My 2 kids comes here and they loved it. they enjoy coming here. Its a fun and positive atmosphere. Awesome Sensei.
Dragon Star Karate is a great place for the whole family. My daughter has been participating for just over a year now and you can see the difference in her with coordination, over all attitude, and they have helped her with using her voice and not being so shy to say hello to someone. The kickboxing classes were great for my wife and I as well.
Excellent group of instructors, very in tune with my child. She has gained focus and confidence as well as a higher level of respect. I recommend dragon star karate to everyone.
We are so happy to have found K3! Our son is learning, focusing and having fun.
K3 has been a game changer for our daughter. We started about a year ago and I can’t say enough good things about the lil dragons program. She’s stronger, more independent and more confident than when we started. We started K3 prior to her beginning pre-k. I firmly believe the experience in her classes and interactions with all the instructors made the pre-k transition much easier on her. Thankful the instructors care like they do!
We have been at K3 for a year and love it! My son is learning a lot more than just martial arts! Thank you K3!
I have been here with my kids for almost two years. It has been amazing! We started out needing discipline and training and the staff at Dragon Star has been continually helpful. They went above and beyond to help us with our training and home schooling. They treat me and my children with up most respect and positivity. My kids cant wait to go and my youngest cant wait to get started. The Krav Maga class is challenging and fun as well.
Huge fan of TDS...my son has been going for 1 1/2 years now and it amazes me how much confidence and self-esteem he has now. We were told by a friend that Martial Arts could help with this, but the team at TDS really makes this a priority. The changes he has made at home and school are amazing and I know they wouldnt have happened without this program. On top of this most important life skill...he is also learning Karate, earning his belts, and how to protect himself. This couldnt be more of a Win, Win situation. If you are looking for a great Karate School and one that will help your child become more confident...this is the place for you!
I have been taking my son here for about 3 yrs now. He started when he was 4.5. And what a transformation? I am so proud of him. He looks forward to attending sessions. Learning and growing with every class he takes. When I asked him once..what he wanted to do with Karate, he told me this, I want to be like Sensai Johnny. I said with a grin, Why is that? He replied, Sensai Johnny is a Master like Splinter from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He was 5 when he said that. My Son will be turning 8 this year, and you know what? He still wants to be a Master..The instructors here are amazing and inspire these children to believe in themselves. Why wouldnt you want your kids to thrive for something more? To be involved in something greater than themselves. To maybe, one day, teach others to believe in themselves like their predecessors did before them. To be better human beings! Give K3 a chance! Im sure glad my son did!
My son loves it here. He has learned so much about respect and discipline already. Before K-3, he was always overly rambunctious. He seems to have simmered down quite a bit and learned some self control with his attitude at home as well.
The Team Dragon Star Martial Arts School is an Excellent school. Seh Sung Doyle and Sensei Johnny are excellent instructors and they ensure that everyone meets their goals. The staff is awesome. They have helped me meet my goals. I have not felt as fit as I do today in over 20 years. I’m more energetic, stronger, lost 10 lbs within10 weeks and overall I feel great. If you want to burn fat and lose inches and learn self defense, this is the place to be. It’s fun and the people are great to workout with. You cant go wrong. I’m motivated and addicted. Thank you Dragon Star Karate.
K3 Martial Arts is #1. Our community is blessed to have them. They reached out to us, Junction Elementary Parent Teacher Club (PTC), and let us know that they are here to help us with our fundraising efforts this school year (2017-2018). Can you believe it? A business reaching out to a school to help raise funds?! The PTC did not have to go to them. This year, they have offered 6-week classes with all proceeds going back to the school. And, it did not stop there. They have offered two “Parents Night Out” with 100% going back to Junction Elementary. And, Junction will have a movie night before the end of the school year. Not only has Junction profited, but parents have also “won” – easy date night and awesome environment for their children!Junction students are having fun! They are learning discipline & confidence, and building character & leadership qualities! K3 Martial Arts is teaching kids self-discipline, hard work, and respect. The PTC urges everyone to check them out. We are proud to have them as part of our community!
Classes are decent about what you expect from any martial arts school but the customer service is horrible. I was traveling and so my card got declined payment with the school which I had no idea as it did for a few other services that I am signed up for. The major difference is other companies will call make the correction charge your card and move on. Team dragon star left me a voice mail two days after the due date threatening me with collections and when I called back they charged me a $15 late fee. They are aggressive with their fake contract BS save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. PS the owner is known for fraud in Florida just google his name.
I really like this class they make sure you get stuff right and teach you so much every class. They do not judge or make fun of you, and they are very supportive of you.
Awesome Center! This Dojo treats my daughter with respect and care! My daughter is a recluse and since starting the Team Dragon Star Martial Arts Team she is more centered, confident and more outgoing!
This place has to be the best place in the area! The staff is very passionate and caring, ask them any question and theyll have the answer and more. You cant leave this place without a smile on your face. Just the simple joy it brings to the kids face and the confidence they build is amazing. Not to mention that Krav Maga stuff is awesome!!!!
My son started with TDS in 2013 as a white belt in the little dragons and now hes a brown belt in the Master Quest program. Team Dragon Star is focused on helping kids improve their focus, attitude, skills, and to always strive to be their best. My son is a leader in school and other team sports and I give TDS the credit. The instructors Johnny and Doyle and the other student teachers are wonderful with the kids and make it a fun environment for them
Absolutely the best decision that Ive made putting my son into the K3 program he has grown so much and he loves it. He is reaching his two year mark at the dojo in December and the people there already feel like family. Great place to bring your kids. The young teens there are great role models for my little one and excellent figures to model after. The instructors are great, highly skilled, and relatable to the kids. Five stars from us only because theres not an option for 6.Update 11/15/19 my son continues to attend class here he has since earned his black belt and has continued his journey on to complete his first degree still an incredible program and is building the foundation for a well-rounded young man. Grateful to all the men and women here providing real world Fitness protection and success for Roseville children.
We love Team Dragon Star! Sensei Johnny and the other teachers are kind and patient. The have helped my son become more focused and confident. We would recommend TDS to anyone!
Informative, friendly and knowledgeable staff! My daughter loves K3 Karate and their after school program!
Started my 4 year old son here about 4 months ago and have seen some pretty great changes in him. Dragonstar has given him the opportunity to tap his potential as well as give his confidence a good bump! Its been a great experience and i expect that well be in it for the long run! Thanks to the staff at Dragonstar for all that you do!
This Place Sux as a Business they do not take care of their Clients. they are Dishonest and the Lie about teaching the Kids real values in Life. I will not recommend this Place to anyone. Do not get your Child in this Karate School the are not Honest about their Membership Dues and they will Take your Hard working Money and they will run away with your money. Believe me You ask around this place is not what they are. if you want to loose your money this a place to do it. Sensei are Liars and will avoid any Issues Members have regarding their Membership.
They push me physically and I love it because its what I need. Also for as many members as they have this place is ALWAYS clean!
If you are looking for a Dojo then stop you found it! #k3rocks! Both of my boys go to K3 and they love it!! I have been so impressed with the staff and how they interact with the kids. My boys have made drastic improvements in school and their teachers are taking notice! #k3rocks #k3kids #karatekids #beststudioinroseville
Love this place kids really learn a lot about discipline and self respect.
Instructors are awesome and create a fantastic atmosphere in which to learn potentially life-saving techniques. We dont exercise, we train!
Wow, after been to so many gyms and sport clubs, I have not met a single instructor that was as rude as this one. Or he may be the owner of this place, which made it worse.I was thinking to try my first Krav Maga class today and called in the early afternoon to ask questions. The person over the phone told me that I can join the evening class at 7:15pm to give it a try. He said that it would be better to arrive earlier may be around 7pm to get prepared. But he didnt mention anything about paying online or their class was full for the day.I unfortunately hit the rush hour traffic and arrived around 7:08pm which should still gave me 7 minutes before the class. But when I walked in, the front desk staff was talking time with another client so I waited for couple minutes until a guy with a headset on came forward. He was the instructor for the Krav Maga. As soon as he knew that I was to join the class, he immediately said that I was late and I should have been there at 7pm exact. I explained that I hit the traffic, then he started saying how the class was double booked now. He was obviously reluctant to check me in. Apparently, I did not secure my spot by paying online but the other new person did. He exclaimed impatiently that You didnt pay! as if it was my fault. Well, maybe you should ask why your staff did not tell me that I should pay online, that the class was in fact full, and that 7pm arrival was required not recommended.I was taken back by his rude attitude and said that I would come next time instead of joining the class today. He first told me that there was an availability on Monday but when I said that I would fill out the registration form on Monday, he immediately said that he had a waiting list of people who were seriously about taking his classes and would pay in advance to reserve the spot... At this point, I have had enough of him and just left. As I turned to the door, I heard him slapped the paper and pen on the table loudly...Good that this happened though, I would never want to work out or learn from someone which such temperament and attitude. Definitely will not recommend it to anyone.
| started my daughter in the Dragon Kidz class about 6 months ago. From the onset the staff has been brilliant. The atmosphere is attentive and family oriented. Everyone is supportive and encouraging . I have personally seen the creed and motto carry over into other aspects of my daughters extracurricular and academic activities with increased focus and Try my Best attitude applied overall. After attending classes twice a week for 4 months, I decided to sign up myself for KUT.....Again, everyone is encouraging and motivatingWe couldnt be happier and I would not hesitate to recommend this Dojo to anyone and everyone
Sensei Johny shows a complete lack of respect to parents and students alike. He made my son cry in our third week of our trial period! There are no obvious lesson plans or progression of skills. Promotions are given to all students without being earned. Lessons are inconsistent. If this were a cheap Parks and Rec program Id be happy enough, but its not. We went to KOVARS and were so thrilled!!!
My son goes to this dojo for karate and absolutely loves it. The staff are extremely kind and helpful and are truly there for the kids.
Very professional and friendly! A very positive environment for students of all ages.
Cannot say enough good about the confidence improvement and changes in my girls additudes. This program is worth it.
Outstanding experienced Instructors and Professionals.
When I signed my 9 year old up for TDS he was still very withdrawn and emotional from the divorce his dad and I were going through. Within just a few days of the program, he was smiling again, he was excited to go to class, and he would practice all the time. He loves the instructors there, especially Sensei Johnny, who has inspired him to want to teach at the dojo when hes older. Before I signed up my 7 year old, my oldest would teach him all the forms he was learning. So when I finally signed up the 7 year old, he was ready! He wasnt really into athletics like my oldest but he has excelled in ways I never thought possible. They finally have something they are both good at and enjoy. Thank you TDS for all you do, I am forever grateful!
Want to provide your children with an opportunity to build their self-confidence? Think your child might benefit from an environment where they get to have fun but are still expected to remain respectful and courteous? Team Dragonstar is the place to start. My son was anxious when entering the dojo just over two years ago, but Johnny had him ready to learn within minutes. His concerns about moving up to middle-school never manifested because he now has the self-confidence to know he can handle pretty much anything thrown at him. Our daughter begged to join after watching her brother attending class a few times. Despite a heavy dance schedule she still gets to the dojo as often as she can and trains her forms and defenses at home. Her brother even works with her on weekends using the praise-correction-praise method we learned in class. Give it try - you’ll love the results.
Before my first Krav Maga class, I watched students walk into the room with no belts and students with yellow or orange belts. They belts looked pretty I wanted to have one made just specially for me. As I observed the students warming up and stretching, I noticed that everyone is a different ethnicity and most importantly the class was full of different ages. You’ve got a teenager taking the class with her 40 something year old father. Retired individuals. You’ve got a few young kids from their teens all the way to students that all in their late 50s and early 60s. Sounds scary but they had to have started somewhere just like everyone to matter what socioeconomic background you came from this Dojo does not discriminate anyone because of their size, gender, color and age. we are all treated the same from our instructors. The class itself was amazing. Now I was a runner a few years ago. I ate healthy, worked out 5-6 times a week, trained for half marathons that I did every few months. That was when I was certified as a personal trainer with the American Council on Exercise. I had all the advantages I could think out of. That was 1.5 years ago. I felt a little confident. It was quite a challenge for me since its been months since the last time I ran around the block. My breathing was hard, sweat was coming down my face into my eyes but these was pains of awesomeness. We were pushed and I thought if these students can do it I can too. Johnny our head instructor introduced himself to me before class and reminded me that I know my own body and if I should stop (not quit) I could. During the class the students were encouraging and gave a lot of pep talk during moves we had to do. Great group of people. The first Krav Maga class you will ever take and it will last you a lifetime. When you walk in you will first see Ms. Rey. She will go through everything with you before you start class. She’s a young pretty lady with a resume of experience in Krav Maga. Our Master Doyle, the head of the Dojo. His experience dates back to 4 decades. He’s funny and generous. Then There is Sir. Johnny, the head instructor. He’s been doing this a long time also but not as old as Master Doyle. He’s a great head instructor. When I joined, he thought Level 1 class and he was our instructor for a few months. He will jump in to teach the class occasionally so be ready, in a good way and leads to our current instructor for the last few months.Sir George. George is a kind man that is also patient and wonderful with his students. He’s been a student of the Dojo for many years now and has the experience to assist us in our continued success. All these amazing instructors yell out encouragements that make Personal Trainers look like they are playing in Junior Varsity.Since I have been taken the Krav Maga and Krav Fit (similar to cardio kickboxing) classes, life has turned not for the better but given me back what I had lost when my volcano erupted. I was so happy again that my aura looked like dancing lights at a night nightclub being one with the music. Okay that was maybe a little too much. I am now a happy person filled with determination, motivation, commitment, respect, confidence (which is on cloud 9). It has been for a good while now), and all the great words I cant think of right now. Everytime I walk into the Dojo I get filled with what it has to offer. I smile genuinely in public now, I interact with more people than ever. I’ve met great new friends that only have kind and pure words coming from their heart. My sense of humor has completely made a permanent residence in my brain. Keep Calm, live, laugh, play, defend and protect HARD!
Started out taking Krav Maga here and was very nervous. The Instructors, staff and other students are amazing! They all made me feel right at home. The main Instructor, Doyle, told my every day that I can do this! I lost 6 lbs my first month, only 2 lbs my 2nd. But after 5 months my clothes are really lose now and I feel great!3 months ago I started my 5 year old Daughter in the Little Dragons classes and she wouldnt even get on the mat. Sensei Johnny never gave up on her and after 3 classes she finally went on the floor with him. Now she never wants to leave! We love this place!
My kid was very nervous and angry .The school called us many times his teacher was telling us every time the same thing over and over again, that we need to do something so he can manage his anger . I was talking with many experts most of them said that best thing is to send him in marital arts school . So I was asking my friends where in our area can we find the best school. They recommend it Team Dragon Star as the best . After training for 3 months my son now is very calm he doesn’t make any problems at school . Now I also thing to take up krav mana class for me .. BEST MARITIAL ARTS SCHOOL IN ROSEVILLE
After 12 years and a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Songham Tae Kwon Do, I decided to try an alternative. Krav Maga was developed by the Israeli Defense Force, and the challenge seemed intriguing. Krav Maga is simple - using your bodys natural reflexes, combined with conditioning to enable you to execute those movements in a quick and expeditious manner. Krav Maga isnt so much about Self Defense per se, but rather making your Attacker regret his decision to attack you in the first place. Doyle McMahon and Johnny Pancucci are top-notch instructors for both kids in Karate (they keep it fun and challenging) and Adults in Krav Maga. This is a discipline where you continually challenge yourself. At age 58, Im in great shape. 5 stars!
Challenging but fun ! Thank you .
