Scam. They will place you on a waitlist and never call you again lol. They also won’t refund your money back. How is a reservation deposit non refundable after 48 hours? That doesn’t make sense. The apartments are dirty and not worth the money anyway tbh. Also, all of the good reviews are VERY recent, maybe they have an incentive if the residents leave a good review - which is weird… I wouldn’t trust it. Take your money elsewhere!

I applied for The Meadows back in January for a particular unit at a specific unit price...They kept changing the unit prices, called me trying to place me in a different layout from what I applied...Again, I’ve been waiting since January to be placed in a unit!Finally called to be refunded my holding fee and was told my holding fee was “non refundable”...No one informed me of this before I applied to the apartments. Why someone wouldn’t be refunded a holding fee for a unit they have yet to be placed in is ridiculous and robbery...Apply at your own risk! They’ve lacked proper communication throughout this entire process.They tend to leave out a lot of details.

Terrible customer service. They approved my application and failed to tell me it would be 3 months before I could move in and that they put me on a waiting list. Why? Because they are renovating. And the snotty chick that answered the phone was quite abrupt when I inquired. And still couldnt give me a date. How is one supposed to give their current landlord the required 30 day notice if youre being told at the end of August, not sure when. Very unprofessional and not a good first impression.

A week ago they were told about the hallway of this building. Broken railing, heat vent ripped off wall, and broken glass everywhere. Heat/air doesnt work properly. Multiple visits to the office gets you nowhere! They dont care!!! DO NOT RENT from these slumlords!!! Ill be dealing with this legally tomorrow.Update: I just saw Utica Square Apartments response to my review so Ive added a few photos of the hallway and stairs up to my apartment so you can see how much they really care about the condition of their property or their tenants. Worst living conditions in my life!!!

Please read the reviews! I applied back at the end of April they told me they would have availability in June for move in June 1st...after online made it seem as though I was applying for an available apartment. This was never the case! After my application was approved they said I was applying for the wait list!!! They said an apartment MAY become available in August but theres no guarantee...meanwhile they tell me that $100 deposit isnt refundable after 48 hrs!!! This is a scam!!! I have called my bank...I will call the better business bureau next. This is a horrible way to ROB people of $150 (cant forget about the $50 non refundable application fee). I would not recommend you or Beztak Property...Oakland whoever...do your research...this is one that practices shady business practices, to say the least!!!

I am happy that everyone took the time to let the rest of us know what an issue taking care of the apartments are for the owners. It made my decision easier... I decided to buy up my rental budget to avoid a place like meadows on thirteen.... REVIEWS do matter, it is the face you present to the public and as my old grade school teacher says if everyone says youre wrong...you probably are. UPDATE: received response from owners/management. Explanation seems forced or contrived. Very generic response for the concern(s) I had. Really glad I went elsewhere

This place was acceptable. Maintenance was only a phone call away and lived on site so when theres ever a issue with your apartment and/or if you have questions they are always available to help. However, I was having financial issues that had to be discussed with the clerks at front desk/office. They were never available. They take hours lunch breaks and are barely assisting from the provided business hours. Also, after moving in, it took me months to get a key to my mail box. Considering that I had extremely important mail...I had to wait until a key was made, despite change of address. After receiving the key it didnt work. I missed out on a life changing opportunity due to this very situation. I moved months after. So for future residence...I suggest commanding mail box key when received apartment keys. As for the living, its updated renovation is very comfy. Balconies are cool. But loud neighbors though.

Update:I’ve been here for 16 months now and it’s gone downhill quite a bit. The main doors haven’t locked for months so anyone can walk in. As a parent this terrifies me. My apartment is always smelling like an ashtray due to chain smoking neighbor. All of my belongs are ruined because of it. There has been consistent leaks in both my kitchen and bathroom every month since living here. Through covid the apartment offered no help to its residents. I watched many people evicted in the middle of a global pandemic. However they still raised rent for the rest of us. Still leaving 2 stars, which at this point I think is generous, only because of how good things were at first. And also for when the old manager Jen was still here. She was great and always helpful. Also, the maintenance guys have always been kind and pleasant.Now, I’d definitely suggest paying attention to all the other reviews.Original review:I have to say, when I first read reviews I was a little nervous applying at this apartment. But I was in a scary and unsafe situation at my previous home and needed to quickly find a new place for my daughter and I. They were the only place within my school district with openings so I bit the bullet and applied anyway.Let me tell you, the women and men working here have been nothing short of exceptional. The manager and office ladies were so helpful and caring. Quick while working with me and patient as well. They were so kind I was nearly in tears the day I got my keys. They will never know how much they helped me in a time of need.The maintenance guys have also been great. I had a leak in my bathroom upon moving in. They quickly responded and resolved my issue with true care and concern of our wellbeing.I’m not sure why the meadows have had such a bad rap up until now but I can tell you that it has been a truly wonderful experience for me.

This is the most unorganized and unprofessional apartment you could ever want to renovate with . Ever since I been here (2017) I’ve had a problem every month . When I first moved in I didn’t have a refrigerator or stove and no covering to cover the light plugs. I’ve had a nest inside my home, my car has been broken in to, dealt with roaches and the unprofessionalism from the office receptionist. It’s been hell since I’ve been here . The building door locks work sometimes, there are no street lights outside the complex it’s pitch black when night falls, the neighbors are loud and rambunctious, etc. Changing the name did not help changing the service . They get a new building manager every 3 months or so and the maintenance will give you the over lay for the replay when it comes to problems that occur in your apartment. I cannot wait until my lease is up. I cry every night because I’m so stressed out with this place . This was my first apartment and will be my last just because of the poor experience I’ve had here . I ADVISE NO ONE TO RENT WITH THESE PEOPLE . YOU WILL REGRET IT . P.S the rent you will be paying is not worth this at all . Don’t waste your money or your time like I did.

Just moved here in it’s already terrible, it smells, the basement is disgusting it’s been leaking to a point it’s like a pool, drain bugs are everywhere in my apartment my sink had a leak when I first moved in, it smell like something died every time I leave out, the front door don’t lock at all anybody can just come in. Everything is cheaply made in unorganized for the high rent bugs are everywhere All in my bathtub, my patio doesn’t has a screen it didn’t lock when I first moved in, it’s not safe at all I can’t wait until my lease is up it’s disgusting here.

I dont normally do this kind of thing but with the ice storm that we had over the weekend, you would think they would salt the sidewalks so people dont end up slipping & falling like I did on Sunday. Im so disappointed with the lack of concern this property has with their residents.

Im withdrawing my 5 star rating. Although it is a nice place. Bills are ridiculous here. And maintenance is a joke. We have requested things more than once and nothing gets fixed. Itll take them days before they even come look then tell you nothing is wrong or nothing gets done, like the A/C for example. Will not be renewing the lease when its up.

I have been living here going on 2 years now. Though my 1st year I had a lot of issues. I am glad to say the new staff and maintenance crew are OUTSTANDING. I have seen such a quick and professional turn since the new manager came in. They are quick to fix any maintenance issues that same day most of the time and when they say theyll be back, they actually do! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!

This is complex is horrible!! Management is very rude and does not handle business correctly. Maintenance requests can take up to 6 months. The pool has never been operable. The rent is ridiculously high with no amenities. Do not live here! Management changes seems like every three months. I lived here for 4 years. The first 2 were great, the last 2 was a nightmare! I am no longer there and I strongly advise that you read the reviews and keep searching! This place is not worth it at all! They also manage Hoover Square in Warren, steer clear from there as well.

Horrible staff from the maintenance men to the leasing agents. Property manager is okay with a better staff the company could work loved here 9 months they don’t come fix anything. They act rude as hell but never want any problems when you check em. 1 star trash apartments with a incompetent staff who knows very little about they position. DO NOT MOVE HERE! IT IS UNSAFE! I live here now, have only been here 5 months and already have nothing but problems. Maintenance sucks. Took them 6 days and three requests for maintenance and finally a call to corporate to get them to come fix my fridge while all my food rotted and I lost over $100 worth of food.The main building doors do not lock, so there are random people who dont live there hanging out in the laundry room at all times. There has been at least 3 break-ins in just my building alone that I know of in the past 3 months. There was an incident where someone came and smashed in all the glass to get to the fire extinguishers in the building and sprayed them EVERYWHERE. I woke up to the fire department buzzing to get in because they were notified the extinguishers were discharged. And then it took over 24 hours for them to clean up the dust from the extinguishers! I have spoken with many other residents who all feel as displeased as I do and can not wait to get out of there.Not only are there those issues, they also have charge random fees for who knows what. I have spoken to them several times to clear up some fee issues on my account with them, but nothing has been fixed. I have $300 worth of fees and only about $80 of it makes any sense. These are just a small portion of the issues I have faced in my short time living there. Needless to say, I STRONGLY suggest looking elsewhere and not even considering Utica Square. You will HIGHLY regret it if you choose to live there.

Mediocre at absolute best. Heat and water arent included, which is absolutely ridiculous, so on top of the $755 we have to pay for rent, another $100 is added for sewage, water, trash, etc. We live in an updated complex, which isnt saying much. The appliances were brand new, and thats about the only good thing I can think of. Me and my GF are ditching this apartment as we found a much better one.

I moved there in September they allow maintenance to enter apartment without letting you know everytime i go to work funny maintenance entered in January claiming to fix a problem that was fixed in December🤦and left for work and left my friend there and again maintenance tried to enter once he seen me leave for work so my male friend cusses him out went in office to address the problem only for them toevict me Woe...management couldnt even tell me why they were in my apartment...

The apartment under my unit caught fire and the property manager wouldn’t even move us to a new unit even though our unit was badly smoke damaged!! Not only was our unit badly damaged from smoke it smells like mildew when you walk inside the building. The property manager NEVER reached out to none of the people in our building (including us and the people who’s apartment caught fire) when the fire happened! Then we had to constantly call the property manager and ask to be moved to a new unit just for her to tell us we had to wait two week before they would put us in a new unit and our rent was going up! Overall this place was TERRIBLE snow wasn’t shoveled in the winter, you have to constantly call for maintenance to come do repairs and it’s a new property manager every 2 months. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL....Stay away from this place.

If I could give them no stars I would. This place is unprofessional they don’t care about the tenants they only care about the money. Queen told me they don’t really care it’s how management feeds their kids. Nakia is unprofessional and she’s the manager but is never in the office. they sent me to court multiple times for bs. I was paying them 300 dollars a week and the balance never decreased because add 75 dollars for a late fee and 681 dollars for a one bedroom that looks like it’s worth 500 a month. They claimed I had a promotional discount but added the money for updated carpet. They don’t update anything but they are always having a lenders inspection. So glad to be moving on at the end of the month. If you can find another place please do I would NEVER RECOMMEND THEM!

I live here now. And I cant wait til my lease is up. Worst living experience ever. They are dirty, and smelly. NEVER FIXED ANYTHING IN ANY OF THE APARTMENTS. The staff are liars. The basement is full of tobacco from ppl coming in smoking. The doors to the buildings dont lock. Anybody can walk in. Ive had the cops come out because it was a strange man at my door at 4 am. Its sooo much I can go on and on about. Dont fall for the move in special. Dont do it, keep looking. You can find something cheaper and better. Try the apartments next door. Much bigger and nice comes with washer and dryer in the apartment.

The management is HORRIBLE! They never answer the phone and they cant keep up with all the horrible issues that go on within this deplorable place. They have 9 million excuses for why they never came to fix what they promised to take care of. They have several maintenance men who have absolutely no idea of what theyre doing. The leasing staff changes often because of the complaints within this complex that should be shut down!

I can say the maintenance is good but this will be my last year here and I been here for going on two years, when I signed my least for my 2nd year I was lied to saying my appt water bill would be only billed jus for my appt which turned out to be a lie ( i didnt pay for water at all my first year with the old company because it was included) . I then found out that they take the whole building water bill n splits it with how many ppl in the building which is not fare doing to the fact they dont know who is using what, so you are paying for someone elses water that your not using. They never gave anyone a chance to decide if they wanna stay with the new changes they just let you know at your renewal. If u want to pay a house water bill $60 n above for a one person household I WOULD NOT come here please i recommend you to look whereelse its not worth it especially if you know you not gone to use that much water in a month..

OVERALL Unprofessional unorganized staff... I was getting letters on my door every week about past due rent, which is paid every month ON TIME!!! MAINTENANCE came in my home unexpectedly and fixed a window that I didnt complain about. They didnt leave a note nor did I get a call saying they were there. I only knew they were there because of the chipped paint they left on my bedroom floor. I went to the office and asked about it and all she could do was laugh it off and say Ive been getting MAINTENANCE cussed out about that I felt so uncomfortable sleeping there then like damn is someone just gonna walk into my place...SO RUDE!!!!

Lol this place is a joke ! Biggest mistake of my life moving into these apartments they were dirty and filthy. Management was horrible kids smoked weed in the laundry rooms doors were broken and left unlocked all night and management did nothing.
