My cousin was recently married at this location in a beautiful outdoor wedding surrounded by trees, lush green manicured golf course, and a little pond to the right of the wedding area. The seating area was nicely placed in front of a gazebo. They had a sweet moment in the wedding where they displayed unity by combining wine from two glasses into one. I think it was a customary since the location was in the California wine country area. The ceremony was followed by a small reception with close family and friends. Im certain they could also accommodate large sized weddings. The hall where the reception was held is close to the Foxtail parking area and steps away from the green where the wedding was located. The hall has a bar area, a dance floor and was set up with a few tables (rounds), the restrooms in the reception hall were pretty clean and womens restroom had a space for the bride + bridesmaids to get ready and safely place their belongings. All the staff members we came across were kind and helpful. My cousins were pleased with the experience and that is what matters most.
This review is for the NORTH course: Beautiful course design and layout. Perfectly placed fairway and green bunkers, reveins, natural obstacles, and wavy greens (which are in amazing shape) make this an fantastic challenge, one of the best courses for any level of golfer looking for a test of their skills. All 18 holes are a treat. Tip 👉🏻 come ready to play. The casual golfer should know this is not an executive course, it is demanding and requires all your patience and skill. Kudos to the course leadership for a masterpiece. Can’t wait to play again. (Check out great specials on GolfPass)
I just retired and Im just getting back into golfing foxtail with my first place to start golfing and I really enjoyed myself even only if I played 9 holes but I will enjoy playing 18 when I get back into shape foxtail will give me that opportunity to feel like Im 21 again
Had a fun time golfing with old friends. We were married at this course 6 years ago. They really did a great job with everything that day. Amber is a great bartender, too.
Pretty nice golf course layouts, but the condition is really bad. They also have a mat driving range which is unfortunate.
Some of the best greens in Sonoma County. And if you need some solid advice on your game. Look up Matt Anderson for lessons. Solid Gold! First you gotta book a tee time and get out there! Foooorrrrreeee!
The course was average, but is unplayable because nearly every hole had people walking their dogs on the cart path, people riding their bikes, loud music blasting from a nearby house, or kids playing in the middle of the green. The people looked at me like I was the one interrupting their walk by playing on a course I paid $100 to play. Never coming back.
I walk my dog on a path by the creek that ends at the golf course. I guess this is what they let their clientele and/or lawn maintenance do: Destroy ecosystems.... :(
The course is in excellent condition and the greens are rolling awesome
It was alright… way too overwatered and just felt bad… sorry
Staff always make it a fun experience . Fair green fees. Challenging course and the greens are always in great shape.
I love this place so peaceful at night
Course in very good condition but pace of play slow.
Its always great and your traps are coming around
Nice day on the South course. Despite the rain course was very playable. We had a great day.
My wife broke her ankle right outside the pro shop and these guys could not have cared less. Watch out for hidden holes in the ground.
My local course, and I play it quite regularly. Great people and great service. If the south course was as well maintained as the north it would be 5 stars.
T boxes on the south need major help not to sure what to think about the round up they use in the bunkers? Just saying
Great course & the pro there Matt is excellent teacher
Great staff I always enjoy playing the greens are on the fast side and lots of practice areas.
I play here a lot. Good course and great staff . BUT, they allow fivesomes and there is rarely a ranger to keep them moving. You end up calling the pro shop to send someone out. Fivesomes should be warned to keep up even if required to be in carts or to let faster players thru. It really hurts the game and is an issue here.
Nice day@ driving range & good gear in the shop.
South course was just groomed last week!
Goid range, North Course is worth the price.
Course was in great shape. Greens were fast and got faster as the day went on. The course is pretty difficult for a mediocre golfer like me.
Sunset member club is the best! $21 for 18 after 12pm, unlimited range balls all for $40 a month. I play here about 3 times a week
Great muni course. Real value, North course is a real deal.
Hella funny, and very calm, peaceful. ive met really awsume ppl there.
The south course is ok but always needs a lot of work- and flatten the tee boxes for crying out loud! The guy we made a tee time with said he would honor the online price for a round, but found out they cant apparently do that... not a huge deal and its still fun to get out there
Great time, friendly knowledgable staff, course could be kept up a little better, but it is covid time... Ive been going to this course for years and it does not disappoint.
Nice course, greens on good shape..only down side was the leaking sprinklers EVERYWHERE..I actually found my tee shot under 2 inches of sod by following the entry hole..
Nice people, nice course.
Good except for the homeless encampment on the 1st hole on the north course.
I hadnt played Foxtail Golf Club before, but my friend Marc plays there often. I returned from a trip to the Midwest and the first thing I wanted to do was play golf! We played here on a Sunday afternoon and played in less than 4 hours. The course is a lot more challenging than I expected and the views are incredible. The greens were pure, and while I missed pretty much every putt I looked at, the breaks are tricky and demand your attention. I didnt break 80, but the next time I play here, I will score better. I know where to miss now. Out here you better hit a draw! Cant wait for my next visit to The North Course at Foxtail Golf Club.
Its a fun course...
Always in great shape even during winter. Been playing here for over 20 years now. Only complain would be that Starters need to stop sending groups of two out. All players should link up and play as foursomes for better place of play.
Conditions were pretty good. Some tough holes but several holes are favorable. Bring food to eat. On the North side, the turn does not go to clubhouse. And beverage cart only carries drinks and snacks.
Greens on the North are the best Ive ever seen. Fast and true. Fairways are also in great shape. Staff are always nice, and pace of play is good.
Challenging course, and fun! Sand not really sand... more like dirt. Staff are welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Pace of play good. Two courses to play.
Nice place. Great wedding. More employees needed when closing the putting green for a wedding to make sure grumpy old men stay off
Course is in nice condition!
North Course -Price is Average, Course is pretty solid and a fun time. Nothing to spectacular but relatively well maintained. Convenient option if your local.South Course - Price is exceptional!! I mean it is the cheapest round you can find... But the course is pretty rough, even in the fairway. Greens are not great either. But still fun for the price.
Its alright
Hot dogs are very good and great deal for $8 for 16oz draft, dog and chips. Nice service but server was a little overwhelmed and had a line for food 80% while I was there. I was there at 11:30 am to 12:30.Again server was polite and attentive when I got to front of line. Food was good course eats.
Beautiful course with reasonable green fees
Wonderful Venue!! Wonderful staff! My husband and I had our ceremony and reception here a little over two weeks ago, and I couldnt have been happier with the results! The staff was wonderful, helpful, caring and understanding. We lost our first venue with under five months to re-plan the entire wedding. We found Wedgewood and we were able to plan our dream wedding and save tons of money!! I truly had my perfect day here. I would definitely recommend Sue Haag and her wonderful team of wedding experts to help you plan your day!
South course is neglected. Bad lyes in the fairway. Broken water valves flooding spots on side of holes. Needs major fixing.
One of the friendliest golf course atmospheres in the area. The driving range is pretty good, but you can only hit off of mats as far as I am aware.
We played the South course and it was so soft & muddy they havent been able to mow in different areas. I even lost a few balls in some fairways via the plug and disappear scenario (muddy water covers the plugged ball you cant see it)
If you plan on getting married here, plan for a short ceremony on a cool day as there is no shade anywhere outside. Staff is attentive (collects plates and cups after cocktail hour, dinner and cake) and they even cut and deliver cake to the tables. The food is standard banquet food, but the chicken and beef were super tough and guests were left trying to cut it with butter knives. If there is cake leftover you can get a to-go box from staff.
Came for a wedding on Sunday, September 17, 2017. It is a beautiful setting. There is no outdoor shade but it was breezy, so it was ok. I can see where it might be really hot at another time of year. The reception room was done nicely but there was no air conditioning. It got really hot in there, especially when we started dancing etc. The management wasnt very polite about getting that taken care of either and said we couldnt even open the doors. There were 2 rolling fans that we were left to deal with on our own. Just could have been handled better, in my opinion. There is no reason to give a hard time to any of the guests or wedding party when the bill has been paid.
Had a Great Time ! ..... and the course was in excellent shape...Thank you..
South is great value, try to get a deal on much Bette kept north
My son and I go to play. Im not good at hitting the ball. So I putt around. Watch my son drive to the holes. I end up being his caddy. He doesnt tip. We take turns driving the cart too. Its beautiful out on the coarse. Makes for a nice day. I would like to know a percentage of how many residents even know how nice this is in their own backyard? Come out enjoy a day. It wont be the last. Its fun. Even if you cant hit the ball.
This is one of the worst golf courses Ive ever seen. I go up to the guy and says a 16 year old with his license cant drive a golf cart and I think that is stupid. Healdsburg Golf Course is a lot better than this one. Dont spend your money on this place.
Great for beginning golfers. Very reasonable prices. Easy to lose balls in rough just off fairway. Sand needs to be replaced badly. Lots of beginning golfers, sometimes rules not followed, can experience long wait times at tee boxes. If youre a seasoned golfer, head north to Santa Rosa, or south to Petaluma.
Great course. They let us play 9. Lost some balls. But played fast.
Oh wow this place is soooooo awesome my son got married there and the are so good at there craft for lounging have a drinks check it out Graton Casino and Hotel is down the street.
Location location location... love how the bowling alley is right next to it..
A great deal for some golf in the middle of town.
So backed up, pace of play is terrible. If you want to spend 6 hours for 18 holes come here.
Love playing the north course! Great track and awesome greens!
Nice course with a lot of variety, at a very good price. The greens right now or in very good shape! That is the North Course!
I went to a womens brunch here today the service was excellent the staff was friendly and efficient! Its usually at another place but this was so much nicer!
Being from San Francisco proper, a round of golf like this would cost well over $100 in the city. Even having only played the cheaper course, $30 for 18 holes and cart on a weekend on a well maintained course is definitely my golf deal of the summer. Just wish it was closer to San Francisco.
How am I best friends weddings here great service great atmosphere a little odd have the dance floor so separated from the main dining area made it hard to have a cohesive agenda and schedule where people could sit and yet still enjoy the different parts of the wedding schedule. That cant be underestimated the great service especially the bar great attention to detail food could have come out more uniformly and time but still well prepared although portions seems light hotspot for an outdoor wedding
Clean and safe during COVID pandemic.
Pro staff is great, 2 courses (36 holes) to choose from north is a little more challenging both are great courses, beautiful scenery love it here!!!
Great place to play
Played North great greens fairway great, only sand traps in consistent, but that should tell you, dont be in traps.
Love the price! I may have to start golfing here a few times a week. Got to get that practice in. 50 years of marriage and my wife can still take me out back and whoop me like ol bessy.
My home course. Always enjoy playing here.
Love the course play the North first time playing here
The starter named John Keenin called my fiancé a bi@&h to her face and she was not even playing! I can’t wait to take this up with management. Thank you to the nice girl inside named Jessica for helping and the marshal named Gunther who attempted to help settle the matter of being verbally abused for absolutely no reason. This guy must be off his meds if he thinks it’s OK to do what he did here today as this is so far from acceptable... I am irate and left after 9 holes because of this “volunteer”. What a joke..
Great course, great price, but the tolerance on jeans at the course is an eye sore. Not to mention the crowd that attracts slows down everyone. Three-some with one walker shouldnt be tagging a threesome with carts almost a hole behind. Otherwise its awesome
My club held an event at Foxtail. Food was awful, service awful, room set up wrong and when I detailed our complaints no response. Dont waste your money planning an event here. We had 60 unhappy guests and no way to correct this after the event.
Our August Afternoon wedding was a lovely celebration thanks to the Sue and her staff at Wedgewood Banquet Center. Everyone was flexible, helpful and supportive through the entire process. From Aunt Beas who made our gorgeous cake to the DJ the vendors through Wedgewood did an outstanding job. I especially appreciate Erin at Grohes Florist who made my vision of flowers a reality. The food was a highlight and so many of my guests commented on the quality and fresh variety of our buffet lunch. As a bride I appreciated the professionalism of the Foxtail staff but mostly the kindness, patience and pure enjoyment of the planning and execution of our wedding. Several friends said it was the best wedding they had attended!
Staff is very nice. I’m not much of a golfer but LOVE the driving range!
Painfully slow. No one explains the meaning of keep up with the group in front of you anymore intense slow groups wont yield to faster group.Twosomes that wont make a 4some, old guys that refuse to play red tees, pick the fkn ball up and move on if your at more than a dubble bogie. No enforcement. Political correctness BS.
I had a great time playing with a gentleman by the name of Dave. A single digit handicapper who put up with my game . . .
My brother just had his wedding here. It was a blast gazebo next to the pond was picture perfect. The reason im rating to 2 stars however is 1) miscommunication, wedding event staff didnt communicate with us professionally or efficiently as one would expect to receive when paying that much for the venue. 2) the most pertinent reason for my 2 star rating is the rude, egotistical, self absorbed dj that rubbed 80% of attendees the wrong way with snide comments and unprofessional behavior. Totally out of line, and simply put immature and conceited. You would think an older man who kept telling attendees he was kinda famous, slightly a celebrity dj would be able to play the songs requested in order and at the proper times and when it was djs choice he played songs so old, even or senior guests where suprised, straight failed at reading the room. His comments to the the groom, my brother, throughout the entirety of the wedding were immature, insulting, and way out of line. My brother should have never had to hear that from some random old wash up dj on the happiest day of his life. I will never recommend this place if asked where a good wedding venue is cause of this. And i will tell poeple not to even consider this venue for future events. My brother should have some re-embursement for the unprofessionalism he had to endure in an other wise joyous wedding day/night
Solid muni. Play the north course.
I would give it five stars but for price..compared to other similar courses just too high cost. Will have to look for deals..maybe o just missed them..but really loved the course😁
We recently had a memorial service luncheon for our son and everything was perfect. The staff service was excellent, the food was excellent, and the room was outstanding.I would recommend the place for any type of event.
Fantastic wedding venue! Staff is top shelf!
Lovely view on patio. Plenty of seating. Unfortunately, no heat lamps. Chilly at dusk
Been playing 18 hours a week for the lay few weeks. Great course. North course is beautiful bit you cant go wrong with the south
You can play the South course for a good price or the tougher North Course for just a few bucks more reasonably priced
Two 18 hole courses. The pricing for a round of 18 holes is on point. South course has some drainage issues, but for the price, you cant beat it. Definitely the South course is the best value in Sonoma County. I have been playing golf in Sonoma County for 20 plus years and noticed that you can end up paying more for a 9 hole only course than you would for 18 holes on the South. North course is in better condition but costs a maybe 10 or so more dollars to play.
Foxtail Golf Club North Course is a well laid out 18 holes that I enjoy playing. What I dont enjoy is going into a trap thats supposed to be full of sand but at this course they are full of mud, and I find that inexcusable!
Its nice to go outside u have butiful trees to look at the hills its a peaceful place to live
Nice
Really should separate rating for South course, North course and events. That way people will know the North is good and the South has serious issues.
