I would absolutely recommend anyone to purchase a vehicle from Discovery Toyota. Ask for Joel!!! He is awesome to work with. He has a no nonsense professional attitude with an amiable personality:)I got a great deal on my trade in and purchased a 2018 C-HR and a 2021 Corolla hatchback.These are my 2nd and 3rd car purchases with Discovery and each experience has been excellent - efficient customer service, low mileage cars, affordability, etc.... start to finish was awesome.

This is a long one so bare with me...After a terrible experience at Nissan we came here to look at a car. I spoke to a sales manager before anything and told him we had an 07 trade with about 1500 positive equity. We needed to buy a car and told him the price point that we were looking. He said he had the perfect thing and sent us to a salesman. The sales man brought up a 2016 with 200,000 miles on it priced at 8,999, we test drove it and decided that we wanted it but also saw a car and the rep said that he had just worked the numbers up on it earlier for a previous customer at 4500 out the door. The manager comes back offering only payoff on the car claiming that because it wasnt a 2010 he would have to wholesale it, but what got me about the whole thing was he added 1500 to the 8,999 price claiming that the 1500 is a discount if a trade is a 2010 or newer. He knew from the beginning that it was an 07 with the price he quoted me but was trying to just get extra money off us. We than asked about the 4500 car and he said the rep was wrong and added 2000 to that price as well. Do not shop here unless you like to be robbed in plain daylight!!!

People there try to rip you off I went try to sale my Camaro... guy tell me he only can get my offer way under what I was asking not knowing I already did my research knew how much the car was worth how much they could sale it for plus I already had check to see what I could get I ask them $8,000 carvana giving me $7,986... Discovery really thought I was going to sale them my car for $5,000 or $6,000 then they go sale it for about $13,00 or $14,000

Driving home to New York City from Florida, my 2012 Camry with 150K+ miles transmission went in Virginia. I called toyota of Roanoke Rapids and they picked me up, gave me a fair price on a new car, picked up my old car and helped me and my family in every way. I recommend these people in every possible way. They helped a complete stranger stranded 500 miles from home, and did it in 2 hours. Thank you Roanoke Rapids Toyota. Just bought a used truck from there and had it shipped up to me....communication and level setting was outstanding....did it all over the phone on Monday and by Tuesday evening they had it delivered to my driveway. ***DO NOT RECOMMEND DISCOVERY Toyota for a CAR PURCHASE***A senior citizen 82 years old purchased a vehicle from Discovery of Roanoke Rapids while also trading her current vehicle in that was running just fine, but thought it was time for a upgrade. After having so many problems with the vehicle within the 1st year of purchase, the dealership was contacted several times to restore issues that was happening with the car that was purchased. After going back and forth with the dealership for month and the car putting the senior citizen down without any assistance from the dealership left the Senior Citizen in a state of “helplessness”.After speaking with the dealership team,Joel Scott, Marvin, Joseph (guy who likes to hang up on customers, did it to the Senior Citizen and myself after reaching out), Al Wright aka The Finance Manager, and Dwight Manley aka THE INFAMOUS SALESPERSON, left the Senior Citizen whom is 82 years old in a even worser state.The Discovery Toyota Dealership decided to help the Senior Citizen out by Towing the car out of her possession without any form of repayment for the money that was placed into the Lemon that was sold and the trade in that was provided at the time of purchase.This is very disturbing and not the way to treat Senior Citizens, let alone any North Carolinian.DO NOT RECOMMEND this dealership and if you go by, recommend asking them have they token care of Mrs. Deloatch yet whom they have avoided in making this situation right.Again, DO NOT RECOMMEND this particular TOYOTA dealership and need investigating in how they deal with the Senior Citizens of this State!!!!!

Fair price on trade in and out the door. The problem is had was the sales floor supposedly opens at 8:30 but the door wasnt unlocked till 9:15. I looked at the car I was interested in buying and NOT ONE person came out to talk with me, which for a dealership is very odd. Had to go in to get any information on the brand new car. They do try and sell you the extended warranty aggressively, its a toyota not a chevy.... Overall if they have a hard to find car spec like the one I bought, its worth it. But if youre expecting them to go out of their way to talk with you etc outside with the car, dont hold your breath. After all youre paying A LOT of money. I miss Bones Toyota and my normal sales associate Jackie.

These people worked a miracle for me. I went in with more doubt than my body could have handled. I was asked to test drive a car and numbers were ran, then I was asked to test drive a different car that matched my numbers. I was septical. After being there for a couple more hours than expected, I was then asked to start signing paper with for my new car with 63,500 miles on it. All I can say is BLESSED. If youre checking reviews because youre considering selling a vehicle to this dealer and, like me, youre hundreds of miles away, FEAR NOT. Yesterday I sold my pristine 2017 RAM 1500 to these guys, meaning that one of their customers is going to get a great, clean truck and they buy quality stuff. Im in Detroit, they saw my ad online, called with some questions and I had to provide just a few more pictures. A day later we agreed on a price that was considerably higher than what local dealers were offering me. Just a few days after that someone flew up, verified condition, paid on the spot and drove it away. Easy Peasy. I was skeptical, of course, but they did everything they said they would.Word of warning, however, be honest or you could have a problem. If your car has been in an accident or has an issue, tell them up front because the person they send out is going to figure it out. Theyre knowledgable and have paint depth gauges and a ECU scan tool. Dont lie and youll be fine.

Cant speak for the sales department, but the service department is incredible. With Tammy at the front counter and Genes help, they make a fabulous duo. Any company would be lucky to have them work for you. They represented the company well on more than one occasion.My 84 year old mother in law lives in town. I live in TN and could not be there when she needed help with her car. I called and Tammy answered and helped get her car back and forth to the shop at no charge. What really impressed me was last week when she was moving. Getting ready to leave town, the car would not engage in gear. Gene came and got the car to the lot. The part was out of stock for them, but they got one in as quick as they could. Fixed it, and got it on the road. Has been working great since. They made us feel like we were their number one priority that day. Would highly recommend to all.

No prices posted on the vehicles. They will not negotiate on their prices. I told the salesmen to give me their best out the door price. The offer for my trade-in was a rude slap in the face. After I told them to give me my keys back, then they wanted to negotiate. Too late. I also dont like that when you sit down with the salesman, he leaves, and a Manager sits down to close the deal. I liked the salesman but not the manager.

Pat Tanner, the internet sales manager at Bones Toyota recently provided me with top notch customer service during my purchase of a used vehicle. I am currently overseas and wanted to purchase a used Land Cruiser before returning to the United States. My search seemed endless until I was promptly contacted by Pat and he made this a possibility with his personable and always professional customer service. He approached the transaction as if I was his only customer and he was the founder and owner of the dealership. It was like buying a vehicle from an old friend. He was always available for my multitude of questions and concerns; from start to finish as we worked through the challenges of purchasing vehicle sight unseen 8,000 miles away, and then having it transported. He was extremely knowledgeable and thorough throughout the entire process; vehicle history, financing, handling the out of state vehicle registration process, needed service, and coordinating transport. I moved from NC to VA and needed a plate holder for the front of my car. I called and order the part and arrived the next day. I asked how much to have it installed and they told me $25. The next day I came to pick up the plate holder and have it installed, the service center literally charged me nothing and were so kind and helpful. They got my car in and out in 20 minutes. Definitely coming back.

I have done business with Bones Toyota since 1976 but I have never been more disgusted with the takeover of Discovery Toyota. I made an appointment a week in advance to have my vehicle service. I drove forty five miles on a Sunday afternoon to leave my vehicle so they could service it on Monday. On Monday at two thirty pm, they called me to tell me that they were not able to work on my vehicle and wanted to know if I would like to reschedule. I told them NO and that I did not live across the street whereby I could bring it anytime. If they cant service my used vehicle, I cant see myself buying another new vehicle from them. I will come on the lot to see what Toyota offer but never again will I buy a vehicle from Discovery Toyota.

Good Afternoon Lee,Recently I began an internet search for a Toyota 4runner. Determined to get a great deal I emailed 15 different dealerships. The very first reply I received was from Pat at Bones Toyota. Not only did he get back with me immediately but his reply was friendly and informative. From his initial email I could tell he was different from every other dealership associate who contacted me. Pat was very straightforward and didnt subject me to any mind games like many of the others. Pat always answered my questions honestly and in a timely manner. My fiancé and I purchased a 2020 Army TRD Pro from Joel, and we had a horrible experience; I requested the paperwork be done before arriving since we drove 3 hours to get here, and that was a huge problem with the salesman. We did all negotiations over the phone (due to covid19 and we live so far away) & we thought everything was going to work out how like we had hoped. I ONLY drove this distance to purchase the car because no local dealerships had TRD 4R’s for sale; the closest other than this dealership was about 10 hours away unfortunately. I politely requested the sticker (that says Discovery Toyota) be removed from the rear of the car, and the salesman had no interest in peeling it off for me (even though he said himself it would just take a second, he just didn’t feel like doing it.) This isn’t a dealership like Priority or Casey Toyota, so don’t expect much. (The inside of the dealership isn’t the nicest.) Their selection of cars to choose from is plentiful, but none of that matters when you receive horrendous customer service. The dealership promised us $27,000 for our Pilot, but after they argued with us, and almost refused to sell us a car after driving 3 hours, they offered us $24,000 which made our payment jump up about $40 (they dropped our trade-in value after we made the drive up here.) I don’t know if they appreciated me having my 2 year old labradoodles with me, but this isn’t a very “welcoming” dealership. If I had’ve known I would’ve gone through hell just to buy a Toyota I would’ve stayed home. Highly recommend Discovery Toyota if you’re planning on getting screwed while buying a car!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My mother in law spotted it and mom decided to text me and tell me my 1993 Toyota Corolla was a slimy green and was signed off on for me to come pick up! Took my 2008 Lexus GS450h in due to my check hybrid system light illuminated, and was told it needed a part that cost $450, the total repair would be $850. Well, I had a bad 12v battery I asked them to replace and headlights as well. Total job was $1867.34. No problem, after all, I wanted the car right. I went to pick it up and was told they got the hybrid light off and the car drive good during the test drive. Lie! When I got in the car, the hybrid light was still on and the car had the exact same issue it had when I dropped it off. I took it back the next day and was told, well nokw I needed a part that would cost about $1300, $1700 with labor but that may not fix the issue because I drove the car for an extended period with the Hybrid light on. Well, I told them I had been driving the car for 3 weeks when I dropped it off the first time with the Hybrid light on, but they still promised they could fix it. Now, they ask again and all of a sudden, thats the reason it may be the transmission. These people are crooks, unable to fix things and instead of telling you, they take your money and do so with good conscious. I was told it would probably be in my best interest to give up on the car since it might need a $7000 transmission. Well I took the car to Raleigh and was told a $300 sensor would have fixed the entire issue...I wouldnt recommend these folks to anyone...especially if youre not driving a Corolla. Its sad, very sad. Proceed with caution...and a big wallet!!

I wish that all dealership are like Discovery Toyota. They were so helpful and kind. Were from Connecticut,my battery died and we got stuck . Brought my car at DT at 0530. The first person I met was Dennie Hyde before 0800 asked me whats going on and told me that as soon as someone comes in they take care of me. Here comes Sheldon Powell, checked the car and replaced the battery. Tyler Honeycutt took care of the paper works. In less than 30 min. were back on the road. Me and my wife are very thankful for what you guys did to us. Way to go guys..

My senior mother went here for an issue with her newer model Camry. They told her it need a new engine. Im so glad she called me before she let them do that. I am a professional technician. I am not local or I would have checked it for her. After talking her and a friend through a few things over the phone. The only problem with the car is that it was low on oil! I called the dealership right after she paid to have the issue diagnosed. They would not give me any reason for there findings or let me speak to the tech. All the girl on the phone would say is the tech said it needs a new engine. My mother said her seat was not even moved when she went to pick it up. She is under 5ft. Im pretty sure no one even looked at the car.Under no circumstances should you ever even pull in the parking lot of this place. It should be shut down for trying to take advantage of older or people who just dont know anything about cars. There are other dealers not far away please make the drive! Warn everyone you know to stay away from this place at all cost. Because it will cost you!

My husband and I recently bought a 5 year old Prius V from Discovery Toyota in Roanoke Rapids and our experience was great! We had been looking for one for a while, but were finding that most dealerships seemed to be inflating the prices above the Kelly Blue Book fair market price since the Prius V model is no longer made (and they can get away with charging more for a vehicle lots of people want). Discovery was offering the car right on the mid-line value, so we decided it was worth the drive (over an hour) to check it out. Marvin Honeycutt and the whole team were great to work with. We love the car and had it checked out a few days later by our own mechanic to be sure everything looked as great as it seems before writing this review. They said its in perfect shape, no issues whatsoever! We will be recommending Discovery Toyota to any of our friends or family who are looking for a new or used car. We recommend them highly!

Full of it 100%. Brent (salesman) lied to me with a straight face about EVERYTHING! Wish I could put a review of 0 stars! Had car problems the 1st week I got my car and after they “fixed” the issue, my check engine light came on a few days later while I was in traffic and the car wouldn’t accelerate so I had to pull over on a busy road. Told them to come pick it up again and bring me something else to drive to work, they never came. Currently having acceleration issues. It delayes when I accelerate ALONG with the issues that they “already fixed”. Philip Massey (the service manager) straight up lied to me about someone coming to pick it up. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING HERE unless u want to be lied to and want car issues that won’t be fixed!

The Salesman I had helping my family and myself were truly there only to get you to sign contract. It was Saturday evening and we live 45 miles from there. He said if I signed paperwork we could drive car home. So I signed them and they said we couldnt get it before Monday because of insurance. If you have already got insurance, you have 14 days to claim new car to them. We tore up contract. Not going to start business with someone I cant trust!

Only left 1 star because it didn’t give me the option to leave 0. Scheduled my vehicle for service last Wednesday for a dash rattle and an issue with both of my daytime running lights not working. After picking up my vehicle they were unable to find the dash rattle and they stated that they replaced a module for the daytime running lights. I was told that I would have to take my vehicle back for the DRLs to be reprogrammed and so they could investigate the dash rattle more. After picking up my vehicle the second time my dash still rattled and I had one working DRL. I was told that the second one (that’s still not working) was scratched/scuffed and that It was my fault. The service advisor stated that I should call my insurance company and file a claim. Not to mention they only drove my vehicle ONE mile to “attempt” to diagnose the dash rattle. After 2 trips to Discovery Toyota and my vehicle’s issues still not fixed I decided to get a second opinion. Thanks to Rocky Mount Toyota both of my DRLs are working and my dash no longer has a rattle. Rocky Mount Toyota said that the LED bulb in the running lights was blown. So if Discovery Toyota’s technicians can’t diagnose a blown light bulb I certainly don’t want them changing my cars oil. Do yourself a favor and go see service advisor Bridgette Mills at Rocky Mount Toyota.

Looked up Toyota rentals and thy came up. We were stranded and looking for a rental. We called and asked and he abruptly said NO Rentals and hung up on me. Very rude I would never buy from any dealership that was that rude. The Dodge dealership was helpful and took the time to give me at least courtesy and possible solutions

I can’t be more pleased with the service I received from Steve and Phillip today! My wife and I were traveling from Ottawa Ontario to Miami for a cruise when an awful noise erupted from underneath our Toyota Venza. Fearing the worst we decided to go to the nearest Toyota dealer... Bone’s Toyota to get the problem fixed. Got there before opening and Steve was able to book us in right away. Turned out it was only the heat shield which had come lose. The sheild was removed and all was well... BUT, the best part, Phillip said there was NO CHARGE for their service. We’ll be on the ship with time to spare! Thanks again.
