Great place. Very reasonably priced. Must call ahead to book an appointment. If you dont reach a person, just leave your name and number. They are pretty fast to call back. They are great dealing with all ages of children. My son is autistic and they were very patient with him. All the kids hair look wonderful

Made an appointment for my autistic 4 year old. The first person saw him 2 months ago and I needed his hair cut for his mothers funeral. The second time the hairstylist knew he was autistic and would be difficult. Within two minutes when she saw a walkin come in she refused to cut is hair and was so hateful. Im not cutting his hair,. She was so nasty I will NEVER go back to this saloon.

They are very professional and great with kids. Great place to take special needs kids for a haircut. They are very patient. My son (has CP and is in a wheelchair) has been going to Stephanie for over 6 years and Kidz Place is the only place he likes to go to for a haircut. Hes able to stay in his wheelchair for the haircut, we dont have to transfer to a barber chair. Plus they have a table so the kids get to lay down when they get their hair washed.

The stylists always do a wonderful job and they are very good with my boys. My oldest has always been afraid of haircuts til we started coming here. Now he jumps in the chair and lets them cut away.

Highly recommend.Probly because our appointment was during school hours, the place was empty and we had a very minimal wait time. Maybe 2-5 minutes only for the person in front of us to finish up. Because the place was empty, both parents were allowed to join their child during his hair cut. Otherwise it would have been only one parent. The chairs are in the shape of different objects such as a fire truck and our child was afforded the opportunity to choose where he wanted to sit. The hair stylist are very friendly and we were very happy with our son’s haircut. The place also offers a hair wash at the end.

I’ve been taking my son here for a couple of years and honestly cannot find a better children’s haircut anywhere else. I have tried other places for the sake of convenience and they all butcher my sons hair because they all have the mentality of “it’s just a kids cut” and they don’t take their time or pay attention. Higher in price than other places for a child’s cut, but so so worth it. Definitely one of those instances where you get what you pay for. They have a punch card, and they store his haircut info so they know what we like to get each time we go. We’re customers as long as they are there!

I took my very active almost 2 year old here and we loved the experience! He enjoyed his time in his fun chair watching coco and eating snacks. They were not only quick but patient, while also doing a perfect cut!

My 1 year old son got his first haircut. The lady was very patient and worked quick with him, even though he was a moving target. She did his hair exactly how I wanted, and the haircut was only $18. Wonderful place, we will be returning.

We have been to this place to have our daughters hair done numerous times. I called yesterday from my work phone line and made an appointment at 10:30. I put it in my phons calendar when I scheduled it - while I was still on the phone. We show up on time for her appointment and they proceed to tell me her appointment was at 9. I said I just called yesterday and made the appointment for 10:30 for family photos this afternoon. I was frustrated, but did not get mad - I asked if they had anything later today. They said they are booked all day. This lady, in the photo, says she is the owner and she said, Are you sure it wasnt yesterday [the appointment]? No, I was at work yesterday & I barely called yesterday and pictures are today, so I made the appointment for today. The owner did not want her picture taken and threatened to call the police when I asked why they wont take accountability for their receptionist. I told them we will never come back. They again threatened me with the police. I will never bring my daughter back here - EVER. Messing up your schedule, not taking accountability and then threatening me with police. And, apparently this is an ongoing issue with this business. A sincere apology, an offer to come back another day for a free appointment, an attempt to fit her in when I explained it was for family photos and not just because she needs a haircut...all of this would have made a HUGE difference. **UPDATE: appointment at 3:30 today at Shear Madness - thank goodness!

I took my daughter for her first haircut. I called beforehand, they said cash only and gave advice on how long it usually takes for first timers. We got there a few minutes early and the lady took us right away. She was professional and warm with my 1 year old. My daughter seemed skeptical during the ordeal, but sat fairly still. The lady then gave her a cute hairdo. On top of this, she offered hair trimmings which hadnt crossed my mind. After she was all done, we got a first haircut certificate, my daughter got to pick out a sucker and we have a hair clipping for her baby book. This was a wonderful first time experience.

This is the only DECENT shop in the Albuquerque metro area. Theres 2 girls there but the shop owner Stephanie is the only one who knows how to cut hair. My son who is 2 HATES haircuts. Cries, moves, the whole shebang. She handles him so well and gives an amazing cut everytime. I will tell you though shes not friendly. She doesnt have a customer service personality at all. For being a shop owner thats not ok. The past 2 haircuts my son got was from the other lady there and both times she nicked and BUTCHERED my sons hair. He was almost bald the last time I took him. I was so upset and wasnt going to go back but unfortunately theres nowhere else better to take him. I hate Albuquerque.

Perfect place for babys first haircut. Affordable and they gave me clippings and a certificate. And he got muffins! Glad they told me when I scheduled the appointment that its cash only.

We have taken my special needs child here numerous times. For the first few haircuts I was so anxious I didnt pay attention the haircut, just that my kiddo was doing well with the process. One lady here gave him a good haircut and listened to what I wanted. The other lady who has cut his hair at least the last three times hasnt done a very through job. There are bits missed, big chunks especially around the ears; its not even on both sides. The fades on each side do not match, there are lines in the top where it was not blended. When this lady cuts his hair, his haircut looks the same no matter what I ask for, whether I describe it or I show a photo. Unfortunately, I am dropping the rating for this place from a five down to a one. We will not be going back. The place is cute, they have fun seats and kid shows playing at each station, and toys in the waiting room. We have had good experiences, but its so inconsistent and customer service has been declining each time.

I highly recommend getting a haircut for young kids at this place because The employees are dedicated and are willing to take parents decisions into consideration and when they are cutting the childrens hair they also ask their opinions versus their parents.

Best kids haircut place! They play movies for the kids to watch while they get their haircut (so then they sit still). They have fun seats, the staff is exceptionally nice, and they even cut my 1 yr olds hair perfectly (while he moved his head a lot). I will go back here each time my kids need a haircut!

It is cash only however it is worth the inconvenience. The staff was very professional with my son, kind and understanding. Not to mention that his haircut came out great despite him having a massive temper tantrum (2 yrs old and missed his nap). We will be back.

Hairdresser was very friendly and flexible with the childs needs. Didnt force anything that made the child uncomfortable and was able to manage their fear/frustrations easily.

Im really dissappointed in my most recent experience here. Ive been a few times and have had both haircuts for my son I liked, and also did not care for. I went in for a scheduled appointment for my 2 year old at 12:00 today, and no one was there. She didnt arrive until 20 minutes late, after I left called me back to apologize and reschedule. I would have been more forgiving if she had actually sounded sorry, but it was more it happened, its over, accept it type of attitude. I wont be coming back.

I love the way they cut hair and its s super cute shop but their customer service is TERRIBLE. They never told me when I made my daughters appointment that they now only accept cash. So when i showed up i saw the sign and said i would have to go to the atm. The girl said she would give my appointment away since I didnt have cash! Then another time I booked an appointment for 5:30 because my daughter is at daycare until 5. I go in (with cash) and she said my appointment was at 3:30 and that I would need to leave. What?! I couldnt believe how rude she was. She made me out to be a liar. I would never schedule an appointment for 3:30. She screwed me over twice now and i will never go back and i would never recommend them to a friend.

Had my twin girls first haircut here. The stylists were so nice and fast!! One of my girls cried the whole time, and yet the stylist still managed to quickly give her an adorable cut.

Had been here a couple of times before to get my sons haircut with no problem. This morning we have a 10am and some very rude woman goes oh well I am ready for him. Im like we will wait for the lady that has cut his hair before. So the rude one says very nastily it will be 15 minutes. So I go we will wait. She stomps off huffing and puffing like a little child. Needless to say this will be my last time here. I will not be paying for such unprofessionalism.
