I put a bolt on exhaust kit on my truck and did not have an airgun that was strong enough to get the clamps down tight enough. He was very professional and fixed the issue in 5 minutes. I know from now on when i do exhaust on my vehicles where I will be going. He has been doing it for along time and his work shows it.

Tons of experience to get the job done right. Greg can quote the exhaust part numbers for your car from memory. Thats how well he knows his stuff. Had dual exhaust put on my 2001 Mustang base. I was driving on 495 headed to Richmond VA and my muffler just fell off. Im from NY so I was a long way from home and in a little bit of a panic being a stranger in a strange land. I looked at a bunch of reviews to find someone to help me and found CPs. I walked in the door of CPs at 8:10 AM on a Friday to find Greg Hart behind the counter. I told him my situation as we walked over to my car. He looked at the muffle in the trunk of my car and told me the scope of the work. I felt like I was in good hands and that this was the man to get me back on the road so I could return to NY. I walked down to the 7-11 to grab some coffee, came back at 8:57 AM and he was already done! I thought this issue was going to hinder me the whole weekend and put a dent in my pockets. I felt so relieved that this problem was solved before I even had my breakfast. When I pulled out my wallet to pay Greg, he lifted his hands and shook his head, not accepting my money! I insisted that he take my money, I would have paid him anything for getting it done that fast. He would not accept. Im still in shock that an older man on the verge of retirement, with arthritis in his hands could fix my muffler that fast! The conversation we had about his man cave, his grandson that speaks two languages and nicknamed him Grumpy took longer than it did to repair my car. I guess thats the kind of service you get from a gentleman over 30+ years in the business. Im truly in debt to this man and couldnt be more grateful to have had the pleasure of meeting him. I have been going to this shop for exhaust repairs for the past 30 years. They always provide excellent customer service and clearly love what they do. Today, I needed to have an exhaust leak repaired. I know a little bit about cars and knew that it might cost well over 900 dollars to fix. Imagine my surprise when they had an innovative idea to repair the leak and the bill ended up being under 150! I highly recommend them for anyone who needs exhaust repair, but they can do lots more than that. It is such a rare thing these days to be treated honestly and fairly but you will most certainly experience this any time you deal with them. It is very obvious that customer service and satisfaction is a priority with this shop.

Awesome people, and honest business.Went in there earlier today to get a resonator delete. He put my car on the lift and gave me an estimate within 5 minutes of being there. He gave me a great price and even let me look under the vehicle and check things out. Was in and out in about 30min. Gregg has been doing exhaust for over 30+ years he does great honest work. I came in with a broken tailpipe bright and early Tuesday morning. Greg penciled me in on the spot and fixed my pipe in 10 minutes. They even helped me get the car inspected on the LAST day of the month! I was so impressed, I even asked them to replace my rear wiper blade. Customer service was outstanding! I work in downtown Richmond so it was a convenient 15 drive to the shop. Since I was not able to wait for my vehicle, they arranged for a ride back to my office and picked me up when my vehicle was done. Took my 1997 BMW 528i to CPs Mufflers to checkout this rattling noise coming from under my car. The gentleman knew exactly my problem and correct the malfunction faster than expected. Talk to Greg before you continue looking for repairs elsewhere.I am one of those folks who gets a minimum of three estimates before obligating to anything. I had contacted two National competitors and another local mechanic for muffler replacement before stopping in at CP Muffler. Greg stopped what he was doing when I asked to discuss needing an estimate for my muffler and tail pipe that separated due to age and rust. Greg opened a parts catalog to get a visual of what to expect, he walked right out and crawled under my pickup to make an assessment, walked back in to make one phone call and provided me with an estimate advising the parts were available and he could do the work the next day. I was floored! CP Mufflers estimate was lower than the previous three places I had contacted and the repair was accomplished with quality, care and skill.Greg even worked it out since I couldnt drop off my vehicle during his normal business hours. He showed me where his key drop box was located and explained I could pay by phone on the day of repair. I was able to stop by after work and get my vehicle at my convenience the following day using my spare set of keys.Greg, the owner, shared that he had been in business nearly 35 years, and I immediately felt comfortable upon meeting him and seeing how well he maintained his tools and garage. He provides efficient, professional and courteous service. I called CPs at 3:00 in the afternoon to ask about a rusted exhaust system that needed to be replaced. Went in the next day and looked under the vehicle with the mechanic. Had a quote by 8:15am and they were finished with the installation by 9:15am. Great customer service, fairy priced and very reasonable labor charge.

Theyre small. Theyre kinda old skool. Gregs been doing exhaust work for 30+ years. He knows his stuff inside and out. Hell listen to you, hell tell you what will work and what wont. Hes quick and efficient. If you need custom work, his fabrication skills are on point, bends are smooth and clean. Dont expect a luxury waiting area and Starbux, but you can help yourself to a cup of good, strong working mans coffee. They are good like that.

Best experience I’ve ever had at an auto repair shop. Mechanic diagnosed, showed me the exhaust leak and replaced the pipe in under 1/2 hr. Problem solved without spending half the day waiting.

I’ve used CP’s Mufflers for many years now, but recently I took my truck in for them to inspect what I thought was an exhaust leak. Before replacing my broken exhaust system they did an inspection and found the real problem and referred me to a great auto shop to fix my blown spark plug. These guys are honest and fair priced. You will not be disappointed.

Went there with my truck to get some duals put on, but they didnt wanna take the work, even though there were no cars in the bay nor any jobs to be done. Just outta curiosity I sent my buddy on a Tuesday to do the same thing, and again denied. And again a dude was sleeping on the couch.Places like this deserve to go out of business. And to think the shops name is Custom Pipes. I think not.

All of my dealings with Greg Hart at C.P.s Mufflers have been excellent! I have a small private school in the North Side Richmond area with several small buses. For years I have passed C.P.s Mufflers daily. I never stopped in since I thankfully had no muffler problems. In the spring of 2016 one of our buses experienced an emergency exit door malfunction, that required welding. When all of my usual go to auto repair establishments were unable to make the repair I stopped by C.P.s Mufflers and Greg repaired the door right the on the spot. C.P.s Mufflers does more than just mufflers. Other services include: Air Conditioning Service, Brake repairs, batteries, computerized engine analysis, front end work, shocks and oil change.*** On the rare occasion when C.P.s Mufflers cannot meet my needs, Greg has referred me to other quality auto establishments close by.

I went to C.P. Muffler on 11/26/17 to get a secound option on my brakes and roters ( I had originally went Tuffys on Azalea in Richmond) tuffys told me all I needed was my brakes and roters replaced) mind you they did the same inspection that C.P. Mufflers did( Greg Hart: Owner) well upon inspection of my vehicle Mr.hart of C.P’s mufflers notices that not only err my roters and brakes needing to be replaced but my brake calipers need to be replaced also and were locked up! .... I wouldn’t have Evan know this if it was for me. Me. Greg Hart!!! I would have been driving my car in something terrible would have happened to me in my kids. So mr. Hart said that my car wouldn’t be ready till Monday due to other customers in front of me. Well I got a call today 11/26/2017 the next day in my car is ready. I have never been so pleased about someone working on my car. His service was very fast friendly and detailed.. and his prices are great! This is a very trustworthy person/business and I would recommend his services if you are looking for a trustworthy mechanic.....

Called for an estimate, i was told its not possible to go from a 2 inch pipe into a 3 inch inlet muffler, when 9/10 auto part stores carry exhaust reducers in these sizes..

I wanted 3in tips crome coming out at an angle I ended up with 2in brushed aluminum and were at different angles and all the pipe underneath was spray painted black that slowly burnt off for weeks with a bad smell then rusted and leaked at every weld and almost a year later today broke off and rubbed paint off my fender just on the way home to take it off and it cost $650.00 for this
