Howells did a great job on maintenance service for our whole house generator. Pointed out where the battery (7 years old) was beginning to fail and did a flush of the oil twice! Cleaned the casing and pointed out good options I could do myself for ant control. Very reasonable $ price wise considering the Technician had to leave to get a new battery. I feel confident our generator will work as it should when we have an electrical outage.

We recently had our HVAC system checked as part of our continued preventative maintenance for our home. The technical did an awesome job and I never have to worry because I trust Howell’s and the people that work for them. I know my system is running at top performance when Howell’s maintains it. For around 20 years Howells has been my service provider. When my old unit needed replacing, I purchased my programmable thermostat and current heat pump from Howells in 2005 and, with Howells performing a routine maintenance check on my system twice a year since then, it still functions perfectly.  Longevity and familiarity are also present with Howell’s Ive had only two primary service techs during that time, and both have been extremely knowledgeable, prompt with appointments,courteous, helpful and professional.  They do not come any better.  Theoffice staff is also professional and courteous when schedulingappointments and sending me copies of my statements after a service call.Do yourself a favor and call Howell’s for your HVAC needs.

Thanks Howells. Our 19yr old heat pump (which was installed by Howells) needed replacement. The Comfort Consultant acted in a professional manner and provided a competitive estimate. On the day of installation the technicians showed up on time (actually early which was ok) and were easy to talk to and answered any questions I had. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Howells was wonderful to work with. They came out and walked us through every step of dual zoning the AC in our house and answered every question we has. I have been using Howell’s since 1983 as they installed the unit in my then new townhouse. When I moved from there 12 years ago I had Howell’s add an extra vent upstairs where I currently live. Then 2 years ago they replaced my current AC unit. Simply have been a customer for going on 40 years. Always been pleased!

Late one afternoon last week, our gas hot water heater of 16 years finally played out. I called Howells the next morning, just shortly after 8:00AM and explained our situation to Lacy. I gave her the information regarding my worn out heater and within 20 minutes she called me back with a price for the heater and labor. I approved and and told they were changing a few scheduled appointments for the day and would have a technician and new heater out at 11:00AM that day. As promised, the technician arrived at 10:55AM and began the work. By 2:30PM, the old heater had removed and the new heater installed and fully functional! Once again, we had hot water at the house, thanks to Howells prompt attention and service.Great service by the whole team. Everyone was thorough and prompt!

I had been pleased to do business with Howell’s over the last several years. But they ripped me off on the last service call. My unit was not blowing cold air so they came out the next day, replaced a $12 part in about 20 minutes and charged me almost $400. They have lost me as a customer forever.

Mark was on time and did a thorough job when replacing a blower under my house. The price may be competitive but do ask for a break-down of labor and parts. When I requested more detail with the estimate the price lessened when they realized I was being charged for tax on the labor portion.

Mark Vella was the Howells technician who did our six month maintenance. He check out our system and let us know that are system is good and that the heat pump is about 16 years old. The nice thing he did was let us know about the duct work underneath our home will need to be replaced when the heat pump is replaced. He is professional and friendly. I would like Mark back to preform the maintenance on our heat pump.

I have 2 homes and Howells services both homes-- one on the Rappahannock River and one at Bottoms Bridge. Chris has done an excellent job servicing my equipment at the river twice annually. Matt and Tony have serviced the home in Henrico. Sara is on the ball with scheduling and following up on appointments. I like that they keep me informed as to when they will arrive. I live that they wear booties over their shoes to help keep my homes clean.

Removal of old heat pump and air handler and installation of the new equipment was done quickly and appeared to be well done. The installation team were courteous and cleaned up after themselves.
