Took my car to get the ac compressor replaced. They replaced it but the ac doesnt work and now they want get paid to diagnose it when I told them it doesnt work!? Not worth the 1k I paid them for sure. Avoid this place at all cost because if they think they didnt a good job, they sure as hell will charge you when it doesnt work. Instead of like oh let me check it for you to make sure it works. Because when I picked it up they had my ac on like hey, it works, see. Yeah avoid at all cost.

Van is the only place I would take my cars for any repairs or check up. I have been to countless auto repair shops. Some good and other are really bad. Van is honest and to the point. He tell you exactly what you need to fix and nothing more. He doesnt tell you to fix things you dont need like other repairs shop. His prices are reasonable. Before I buy a car. I have Van inspect it and all of my cars had lasted for years with his inspection. His whole family are very nice people. Its feel good to support good local business.

Ive used Vans Auto repair a few times because they were reasonably priced. The last repair was not so reasonably priced but I was in a pinch to get my vehicle repaired and they got me in, they replaced my carrier bearing in my 2011 Ram truck, roughly 30K mi later it failed again. The carrier bearing should be good for 100K miles. Called Van and he offered me no help at all, Bad or cheap bearing? Poor installation? I dont know, but I should have gotten more than 30K mi, Its not a cheap fix. Im just frustrated at the lack of customer service these days with most businesses. Make your own call on this one.

Ive heard really good things about them the only drawback was that they will not work on cars where the owner provides our own parts. Well as an IT guy for many car dealerships, Ill tell you this much - that BS about not being able to use customer-provided parts is not true; it has everything to do with markup, and the fact that they cant make their money on the mark-up; because having delivered car parts for a lot of these automotive repair shops, I know for a fact that they get the parts from the same distribution centers that just about all the other facilities do, so these manufacturer for resold parts or as they say customer- provided parts are over 80% of the time the same parts that they would be putting in your car, so there is no liability. There is this bogus sense of liability because they dont get the money on the markup. Lets just all be real shall we?

Ive been coming here for years and have never had a problem. Van is an honest repair guy. Theyve worked on all of our family vehicles and Ive never had any problems with their workmanship or had to bring it back because of an issue. Hes worked on 2 subaru foresters, 1 mazda cx9, and a Subaru legacy and even a pop up camper trailer that needed new hub assembly. Both small and large jobs, Ive been happy.

If zero stars was an option, that’s my answer! I do not recommend this place to anyone. I took my car in for them to fix my power steering. They stated it was a hose and would be ready the next day. The communication is awful, they do not call you back, had my car for 6 days, my dad went up there 3 times in 6 days to see what was going on as again, there is no communication!! Said there were leaks going on which I had them fix as my car was already there. Long story short, what they said was going to cost $238, ending up costing $1100. 6 days later after I pick the car up, I see on the paperwork my “check engine oil” light was on. I let them know it wasn’t on when I brought them my car. He said he can reset so it will go off. Duh, considering it wasn’t on before. Then once I got home, I noticed they scratched up my 22 inch rims 😡😡. I am highly disappointed and would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!

When the timing belt went on my 14 year old Nissan went I thought it was done for, but I had heard a lot of great things about Vans- so I called, got an estimate, and after calling around had my truck towed down there. Service was incredibly fast, and it cost exactly what the estimate said. No one called me to say they wanted to do extra things that would cost me way too much, unlike Gregs Japanese Auto. Go to Vans. Not Gregs.

It is so hard nowadays to find an honest mechanic. This shop is the only shop that I trust taking my cars to. You won’t get charged an arm or a leg here. They let you know if something needs to be fixed or not. I only wish that they open on Sundays but I understand they need a day off also. I would highly recommend if you need a mechanic go here.

BEWARE, I honestly and sincerely mean it. My mother was ripped off and charged $100 for a five min diagnosis (did not correctly even inspect vehicle) . When asked why so expensive she was yelled at and treated harshly. When my mother asked his wife if she could speak to me on the phone she yelled at her and refused. Horrible customer service. Basically trying to scam her out of money, mind you my mother is an elderly, soft spoken woman. She was so frustrated by how she was treated and was sobbing on the phone to me about how she was being treated. When I personally took in my Mercedes to be repaired months ago, Van, was very nice and fixed my car and never charged me a dime for a diagnosis. She never refused to pay, all this over asking a simple question. At this point its not about the money its about treating people with respect and dignity, especially your customers. Im sad I referred my mother to him and Ill definitely be reporting him to the better business bureau.

Very poor service. I night dropped my car with a note saying wheel bearing and axle. They called me when they opened and asked me what side I wanted done. I told them I was pretty sure it was dr side but to please confirm that. They told me that is am extra charge to diagnose it. I asked for help as I only had enough money to do the repair and that if they could do diag for free I would have to pick it up and do it later when I could afford it as I didnt want the wrong side fixed. The lady said she would talk to manager and call me back. The only call back I got was to tell me it was done. I picked it up and they had fixed the wrong side (the side I thought it was). Terrible service terrible communication. I dont have a lot of money and they waisted several hundred of my hard earned dollars. Tried to explain to the owner but he wouldnt hear it. BAD SERVICE from the bottom to the top.

Vans Auto Repair is GREAT! The guys that work there are honest and reliable. I took my truck there for them to address a common Ford issue that was quickly turning into a nightmare. They gave me a quote and stuck to it when it had evolved into other problems. The Ford dealership wanted $3000 to do something that probably didnt need to be done. Jim and Van solved the problem by taking some extra time. I will take my vehicles to them for everything now.

Not sure why they have high star ratings. Are the people who reviewed get paid?Basically they have no idea how to fix brakes. After fixing brakes at Vans auto, I am hearing squeaking noise from my front tires. My husband also said he heard the noise. When I took the car to the store, the store manager looked at it and he said, I dont hear anything. I took it to Les Schwab and they gave me free diagnosis and they told me where to fix. I took it to Vans and the manager was not happy. He said, I worked in dealers and I know exactly what I am doing. He was so upset but eventually fixed my car. The quality of their work is terrible. As a price wise, it is the same as fixing at dealer.

I came in with a broken coolant hose and they got right to work on it, eventually they found that the aftermarket hose wouldnt quite fit, so I was expecting to have to wait a few days to get one from a vw dealer.. come to find out the wife of Van ( the owner) drove over to Bellevue to get the part so I could leave the same night. I am so happy with my experience here. I highly recommend vans auto repair!

Would not recommend this place. Took my car here for a drain and refill on my transmission fluid, and also to replace the right front wheel bearing. When I drove the car home there was a screeching noise coming from the right front wheel, and when I took it back to Vans the guy was not happy and wanted to charge me to take a look. He was incredibly rude and provided unbelievably bad customer service. Got the idea from another Google reviewer of this place to take it to Les Schwab and they did a free diagnostic and even fixed Vans sloppy work in less than an hour for free. Do not take your car here because they dont know what theyre doing.

My son took his car in with a transmission problem and they showed him a cup of fluid they said came from his transmission... They told him he needed to replace the transmission and it would be $3800. The only problem is the fliud did not come from his transmission as they would have to pull the pan for that. I towed his car dow the road to Renton Transmission who did pull the pan and found clear fluid no metal in it. They found a relief tube in the transmission to be the issue (a $200 part)and fixed it the same day! Stay away from this company!
