Moved to Seattle from CA about 1 1/2 years ago, and after a recent round trip from here to there, the Check Engine light came on.To make this short:- he did a great job diagnosing the problem and getting it fixed- there were other issues with the 21 year old car that he could have used to recommend many more, and quite costly, repairs.As a repair guy in CA recently did.Not Kurt.He talked about the issue first that I had asked him to address.He then described the options on another issue, which would have taken a lot of time and money to address.He recommended against it, given the age of the car.This is the kind of car mechanic I love: who thinks about what they would and would not do as if it was their car.I will never go anywhere else from now, he has my complete confidence.Great guy, speedy service, reasonable prices.Yes, they are busy (good for us!!!) so time for chitchat may be short.Works for me.Does not even have a website - when you are good, people will come and find you.

I took my Jeep in for a radiator replacement, due to the age and miles I have on it, I pretty much just picked the cheapest that I had found. When I dropped it off, Craig and all the other guys were very helpful and pleasant to work with. I took my truck to Kurts to have the clutch replaced. After asking around they had the cheapest price and could also get me in the quickest. They got it done that day and the whole experience was pretty seamless. After dealing with a lot of overpriced and uncooperative shops I really appreciated my experience with this shop.

Kurts Auto Repair (now run by Craig as he purchased it from Kurt a couple years ago) is a great honest place to take your vehicle. My 99 Civic had broken down on me while leaving work nearby and I contacted Craig since this place got great reviews on Google. Im now not surprised by the reviews.Craig was very honest and humble. Gave me a quote and all the information I needed right up front. Even did a compression test beforehand to help diagnose the issue. The car was ready the very next day and to my surprise my bill was even less than the original quote. I wish I lived closer, as this would be my go to mechanic from now on. My car runs great now and I wasnt raped when it came to pay the bill. Take your vehicle here, you wont regret it!

Great experience with Kurts Renton Auto Repair.We just recently moved up to Washington, and were in dire need of a good mechanic. I found Kurts online and went there based on the good reviews. Took my car in to get the water pump changed, because I wanted a professional to change it so that I knew it was done right. I couldve easily done this my self, I even had the part but returned it so that Kurts Auto could replace it and that way I would know theres no issues with it. I was satisfied with the work they did until I went to leave for work the next morning...thats when I opened the hood to make sure the car still had enough water as I always do since the water pump had been leaking. I was putting in water and I looked down and behold to my surprise and horror when I saw there was a bolt completely missing from the water pump like they had never even put it back in. This is not acceptable by any means, If you replace something on a car you put it back as you found it, that means replacing all of the bolts you took out of it. The hole that this missing bolt goes into, Is completely visible and there is no way any mechanic shouldve forgotten to put it back in. I dont care who you are, do not go to this repair shop. Unless you want some parts missing from your car after you pay.

They did a great job with my 1985 Chevy Van. They love to work on old Chevys and I love their honesty and professionalism. They never suggested things that I didnt need done. They even saved me money by informing me what didnt need done. Im going back when I need them!

Love Kurt’s Auto. They are one of those rare finds. A small nondescript shop big on service. I recommend them to my best friends and in-laws, so they have to be good.

Does honest work well worth the money

I was taking my Jeep to the Jeep dealership in Renton and they constantly tried to up sale me and actually asked once, so how much money are you working with? Needless to say I looked to take my business elsewhere. I stumbled across Kurts Auto and Im so glad I did. I told him the long list of repairs that I was told were needed, he crossed off a few things he said were not necessary after looking at it and replaced my radiator which fixed the problem. Its such a relief to find a good mechanic. I will recommend these guys for sure. Only 4 stars because I havent been going there long - will probably upgrade to 5 after a few more visits.
