My car was towed to Jeff’s Auto Repair, they were chosen because of their AAA rating and their location. I was extremely pleased with my service. Kevin (service mgr) kept me well informed on my car’s problems, what it would cost to fix it and the progress in finding the right radiator for my 1991 Honda. I really appreciated how timely they were, making every effort to fix my car as fast as possible (given that I was towed in and wasn’t on the schedule, nor was I a regular customer). My engine looked pristine when they were finished and my car runs beautifully. I was especially impressed with the 3 year warranty that was part of the deal. Thank you to the mechanic who fixed my car and to Kevin who made the whole process as painless as possible.

Their work was competent & professional as usual. What I dont understand is why they didnt order parts ahead of time, even tho the appointment was made weeks in advance. The job couldve been done by the time the parts arrived. On the upside, they had a loaner vehicle available so I could wait at home.

Very pleased with Jeff’s auto, their mechanic Will is a great trustworthy guy. He walked down the street from the shop to help me get my car to them. I was thinking I was gonna have major problems due to all my dash lights on but turns out my alternator was just loose from the belt and turned into a fairly quick and easy fix. I was stressed that I was going to spend $1000 plus here and Will did it all for nothing (even though it was just tightening few bolts and replacing one) I’m sure if I went to any other shop they would’ve told me I needed this and that and would have got up to $1000 easily which I would have had no clue and would go for it. A lot of mechanics and shops can be very shady but Jeff’s is far from it! Highly recommend to anyone without hesitation. Thanks again Will!

Words simply cant do my nightmare of an experience at Jeffs justice. Took my 17 yr old vehicle to Jeffs for head to toe repair prior to moving. I am the original owner, the vehicle lives in our garage, and is kept in PRISTINE condition. Prior to going to Jeffs the vehicle spent a week at an auto body shop getting small chips repaired. I booked my appt. at Jeffs two weeks prior to dropping vehicle off at Jeffs. My previous estimates for several thousands of dollars of work were saved in their computer, and despite Kevin (manager) repeatedly stating, Well prioritize, I made it clear I needed all work on all estimates accomplished, in addition to repairs such as air conditioner, and anything that was further recommended. I was quoted 2-3 days for the job. Drop off took over 15 minutes, despite me arriving at 7:30 AM, and being the only person to check in. I prepaid almost half of the highest quote and okayed all recommended services. I was updated later that day. I was told the oil leak on the estimate was located in a totally different part of the vehicle other than what I was previously told, and the vehicle wouldnt be ready until four days out instead of two to three days. This was an issue because I had another appointment for the vehicle prior to my move. On the morning of the fourth day I was told they were having issues locating parts and the vehicle wouldnt be ready until the afternoon of the fifth day.Upon picking up the vehicle, some discounts were applied and I was told to send estimates for damages. I paid Jeff’s nearly $9,000, the air conditioner was NOT fixed, the vehicle took FIVE days instead of the original quoted two to three days, was returned with three major scratches and a large dent, a huge eight to nine inch. crack in dashboard from where they dropped it, huge crack and chips inside glove box, and the interior was covered in black grease clumps and fingerprints plus carpets were covered in black oil and grease (NO foot carpet protection used).The vehicle is 17 years old, and I may NEVER restore it to original condition, after taking pristine care of it for 17 years, Jeffs managed to RUIN it in a few days. Kevin, the manager suggest I glue a carpet to the dashboard. I immediately took nearly 50 pictures of interior and exterior damages and contacted the auto body shop to verify the three scratches and large dent were NOT on the vehicle the previous week. The vehicle was detailed the next day for nearly $400 due to the intense deep cleaning needed to remove all oil and grease from carpets, etc. The vehicle is in the process of being shipped to me overseas, but I will likely NEVER restore it to original condition due to the challenges of obtaining original parts for a 17 year old vehicle. Unprofessional and disrespectful are an understatement for Jeffs Auto Repair in Renton. We used them in the past (two years ago), and were very happy with their service and professionalism. Never again.

I had to replace transmission fluid in my 2015 Mazda 6. Shopped around and this was by far the best value, with great reviews. So went to Jeffs with no hesitation. The results were outstanding. I explained my situation and Kevin told me what he thought was wrong, which he was correct. I dropped the car off and within 4 hours it was diagnosed and repaired (two new calipers). He squeezed me in with his tight schedule and really delivered every step of the way. For $75 diag fee, he did more inspection than the dodge dealer did on a CPO and even sent me a PDF of it. He was able to recommend maintenance related to the failure at hand... and didnt try to sell any of it to me, just informed me and provided quotes. I was quite impressed. Thanks guys, you made my week. I will be back.

The brake warning light was on. The estimate said it could have been a max $500 repair or just $125. It was actually a tiny problem with the reserve brake fluid tank. Final cost? $80. Good, honest service!

I made an appointment early and when I got there, within 5 minutes my car was taken in to the garage. The mechanics seem to be extremely professional and within 90 minutes my car was finished as I was waiting. The phone was ringing off the hook while I was there and thats always a good sign to me as everybody wants to find a great mechanic. Prices were extremely Fair and they asked me how everything went with a text a few days later... highly recommended but make an appointment and hope theyre not packed

I have 3 vehicles I take to Jeffs and will continue to have them work on my cars. Cost isnt on them or any other mechanic shop for that matter. Cost is parts and labor, that is it. Find a good mechanic shop that you trust and stay with them. That is exactly what Ive done and Jeffs have my business.

I had a safety inspection done by them and either don’t know or don’t care that they missed a brake leak, oil leak and coolant leak. Plus only repaired 1 ball joint which all needed replaced and also was charged for. Found a better and more trustworthy mechanic down the road to do the job and do it correctly

I do not want anyone outside this shop touching my car. This is most honest shop Ive been too. I wont even take up my free oil changes from the dealership where I bought my car.

Ive used Jeffs Auto Repair for about eight years and during that time Ive had quite a few repairs done, some minor, some costly on my 1994 Ranger. Last winter I found I had a few extra dollars available and had them repair my A/C. I was told there was a leak that theyd fixed and they charged me $300. I didnt have opportunity to use it until a warm day in May, and found it wasnt fixed and only blew warm air. They took it back, found a leak and fixed it at no charge as it was under warranty. Several days later, again a warm day, I turned the A/C on and it still wasnt working, so I took the truck back once more. This time, they looked further decided that it was the compressor, not a warranty item, and now it would be in the neighborhood of $800 to repair, although they wouldnt charge me labor for a small portion of it, so the bill would be in the $650 range. So the total bill to repair the A/C would be close to $1,000. Of course, I declined to get it repaired as the truck isnt worth that much. But, I feel it was a bit unfair to take $300 BEFORE giving an accurate diagnosis. If faced with the $1,200+ repair (since I wouldnt get the labor break) I would have just declined and saved $300. Now Im out the money, my A/C doesnt work and all that Freon was let loose into the atmosphere. Ive been a good customer since I moved to WA eight years ago, but Ive lost my trust in Jeffs. Sorry, I cant recommend. (Update): Jeffs Auto saw the review and called to discuss with me. They were very receptive to my concerns and completed the repair on my vehicle at just the flat cost of parts, no markups. Im satisfied with their work and impressed with their cooperation.

First off, i like to say that the shop looked very clean and organized, and the people there was very nice and courteous. I had my 2003 Honda CRV A/C system recharged by Jeff, and I think they did a good job. The only complaints I have was they forgot to replace my cap for the A/C hoses. It was very fortunate for me that I found the cap while checking my oil and screw the cap back on. I understand that they are a busy shop, but for them to forget this is unprofessional.They also gave me a list of recommended maintenance items. The only thing that I find questionable was automatic transmission flush. They told me that I needed new transmission fluid and this bothers me because I just replaced the fluids about four weeks ago. Once they told me that, i knew they werent really looking out for me, but rather looking out for their own pocket book. I do most of my own car maintenance, and I am one of those people that is very skeptical of automotive repair shops.Would I recommend Jeffs Auto Repair? I would say yes, but I recommend that you arm yourself with knowledge about what type of work your car needs, so you can keep them honest.

Jeffs Auto Repair has done alot of work on my old 97 Pathfinder and brought her back to life. Kevin is great to work with at the counter and they even will enroll you in a rewards program after so many visits. I had to use one of my free tows on the rewards program and Kevin took care of everything, even giving me a ride during our Snowmeggadon. Top notch shop, definitely would recommend to any women who have not had good luck with repair shops.

As a female, I have to say this is the most pleasant mechanic experience I have had. Not once did I feel like they were trying to take advantage of me or feed me a long list of repairs I might need. In fact quite the opposite, they insisted I make sure the tire place not talk me into new suspension, as mine was just fine. GREAT EXPERIENCE and I will be sending my friends and family

I am so glad I opted to go for this shop when my Subaru Forester needed a rear wheel bearing replaced. I originally went because of the convenience of walking there (and other reviews were promising) but I will continue to go back because of the level of service and respect I got--as a 25 year old woman who just screams car-stupid, I didnt feel at all like Ken would be ripping me off. (I did a little bit of price comparison and research before, but I wasnt disappointed!) Friendly, knowledgeable, told me other things I needed but what I could wait to get done, fast work, fairly priced... even if they werent so convenient in distance and didnt offer a rewards program (which I didnt know about until I picked her up) I would definitely come back again and again. So relieved to have found a mechanic I can trust.

I was just a few days new to Washington and desperately needed a decent auto repair shop as my car was starting very poorly, with no check engine lights glowing, and family road trip to Oregon quickly approaching. I found Jeff’s through a AAA recommendation and they fit me right into their busy schedule. Because there were no check engine lights alluding to the problem, a diagnosis was dependent on my car acting up – which of course, it didn’t at first. This failure to fail when it’s important is common with all technologies and usually ends with the specialist unhelpfully saying “Sorry ma’am, there seems to be nothing wrong.” as though I have some kind of car Münchausen syndrome. But the guys at Jeff’s were determined and persistent and on the second day they got a failure and a diagnosis! Ken Cooper kept me informed every step of the way with many unprompted details and updates. He even walked me through the diagnosis process and explained how the problem pieces of my car were working compared to how they were supposed to work. The frequency and respectfulness of the communications are hugely appreciated. Though they had to order a special part and stay late, they completed their work when they said they would; just in time for my mini road trip! They are very organized, courteous, diligent, and worth every penny. I have found my shop!

This shop totally stands behind their work. When I had an issue with a repair they had done, I called their shop and spoke to Eric. It was a year and a half later, but they fixed the issue for free. Jeffs Auto takes very good care of my 19 year old Ford Ranger. Recently my battery needed replaced, which they did. The next day the truck was again dead and they took it overnight for evaluation. Luckily, I think I just left the door ajar as they could find nothing wrong with it (YAY!). I was impressed with the lengths they went to in order to find out what, if anything, was wrong. I would definitely recommend them.Im updating my review since the first one is three years old. Jeffs Auto is still working on my Ranger. Its 22 years old now and running very well. They recently fixed a couple of oil leaks and put in new shocks for me. I find them to be honest and thorough. I still recommend them,

The best auto repair shop Ive ever been to. I had my car towed here after it died on the freeway and chose them because they were close but Im so glad I did. My timing belt ended up snapping and ruining the car. They were real with me about my options and even gave me a discount on my diagnostics because they knew I was having a rough day and car issues just werent helping. It ended up taking 2 weeks to get my car towed to a junk yard and Jeffs Auto Repair let me keep my car at their shop at no cost and were very understanding and easy going. I am seriously considering taking my next car here for everyday maintenance even though I live in Seattle because they were that great. Thank you guys so much!!!

Ive never been to Jeffs before, but called based on a recommendation from a friend. My car was due for its 60k mile maintenance and an oil change. I dropped it off in the morning for them to look over, they had a quote to me by just after lunch, and had my car finished a few hours later. They only recommended work that I actually needed, and didnt try to oversell or up-sell me on anything. On top of all that, they did it all for half of what the dealer wanted!

Always nervous when I take my car in. Felt good at Jeffs, especially when the feedback from the diagnostic tests I ordered came with NUMBERS (how much wear was left on my brakes, etc.) to back up the informed opinions of the staff.They easily could have fibbed to make me pay for useless parts but offered opinions on replacement deadlines and warmly welcomed me back. Next time I need work done it will definitely be at Jeffs!

Competent and HONEST car repair folks. Been taking my 2 cars here for about 6 years and they have never tried to swindle me or sell me snake oil. Only issue is that they are a bit on the expensive side but I suppose the peace of mind is worth it.

I own my own business that keeps me on the road pretty much all the time. I had just turned 300000 miles on the odometer and knew it was just a matter of time before something was going to need repair but just couldnt park the van for a few days. I was having intermittent overheating problems that resulted in water flooding the alternator seizing the bearings. Next thing I knew the serpentine belt shredded and I was sidelined. A friend told me that Jeffs Auto Repair was the shop to call. I called and told my situation and asked how busy he was and how long to expect my van to be down. Even though he had cars ahead of me for repair he managed to get my van in before closing that same afternoon. By 11 AM the following day he had the truck apart..He replaced the alternator, water pump, radiator hoses, tension pully, and serpentine belt. The radiator got flushed and the transmission fluid was exchanged.. He had the van running by 8 AM the following day. He knew how important it was to get the work van back in service with as little downtime as possible and bent over backwards to make it happen. It has been a long time since I have received excellent service in a timely manner.. I felt totally comfortable talking about the repair and didnt feel any pressure to do more work than necessary. Its been 20 years since I had a regular mechanic I could trust. I think I have found the perfect shop and highly recommend you give it a try also.. The work is stellar and the price is reasonable. What more could you want? I would rate this business with 6 stars if I could but will settle for a Five Star Plus rating.

OVERCHARING - on labor too! I had work done to pass the emissions test. They fixed the symptom by replacing a fuse and the check engine light went off. 6 months later the check engine light came on again, but didnt go back until I needed to pass the emission test again. I wanted them to fix the fuse and solve the REAL problem by finding the cause of the short. BUT they wanted to charge me $200 again to diagnose the problem. This is the same diagnosis that I paid for 2 years ago! I already knew the problem and how to fix the symptom. I told them I wanted to pay the hr. rate and for replaying a fuse and looking at the cause of the short. It seemed reasonable but they wanted the $200 fixed fee to redo their work. I spent $5 for a new fuse, passed the emissions test, and Im getting REAL service I want elsewhere. All they want is the bigger fee for the fewest number of hours. They didnt listen to my needs or the solution I wanted. I dont want the symptom fixed, but thats all they did for me and wanted to do for me. By the way, I need my breaks replaced and a tune-up. I wont be going here!

Brought in my ~6 yo Chevy truck for new battery and belts. Was struck by the excellent, straightforward customer service -- very easy to make an appt, just a few days in advance. Their estimate was spot on. And Ken called me regularly to update on eta when it would be ready. SO much better experience than the Chevy dealership. Will definitely be giving Jeffs Auto more business.Update: about a year later.. my second experience at Jeffs was even better than first. Truck had been developing electrical problems.. I spent hundreds of dollars at local dealership, where they were no help -- the problems got worse, not better. My truck died, I had it towed it to Jeffs in Renton, where their electrical expert (Ron, if memory serves) found and fixed the faulty connection, with just 1 hour labor charge. Amazing.

You dont suggest unnecessary repairs so I can trust your integrity. Your technicians are more skilled and knowledgeable than others I have encounters. I know I can trust these guys.

Jeffs Auto did a first rate job on a new oil pan, oil change and inspection. I received a written estimate on all recommended services. The folks at Jeffs Auto in Renton said that my PT Cruiser was a great car as it was, but requires a new timing belt. I received a detailed estimate, and will soon have Jeffs Auto replace my PTs timing belt.

I have been using Jeffs since I moved to Renton four years ago. The service is excellent and the prices reasonable.

Just had my breaks done here and man oh man these guys know there stuff! I have had a new engine done, new transmission and now breaks! These guys know there stuff. Erik and Ken are the guys who know cars and are very friendly! I would recommend this shop to EVERYONE!Ok again took my truck to these guys and again they did an amazing job! Way to go guys they had me drop off my truck knowing i had to go to work so i dropped it of 1st thing in the am had my truck done in 2 hours and i was even early to work! I needed a quick fix on some lights. I drive my car for aliving, so I have to minimize downtime for repairs. Ken at Jeffs Auto Repair understood my time sensitivity and had me in & out of there very promptly. They did NOT try to to pump me for additional maintenance (I HATE it when auto places do that to you). As a person with extensive customer service experience, I recognized all the hallmarks of outstanding customer service - they were friendly, listened to me, told me exactly what they were going to do, did it in a prompt fashion, and didnt try to sell me add-ons (did I mention how much I hate that?). Five stars, guys! Ill call you next time for sure!
