I went to this place for the first time today. For a fill. Not even a full 3 hours later my nails are broken cause they filed them too thin. Now I have to get them redone. Not going back.

Love this place. Im always treated good and get the style I want.

I had a set of acrilic nails done last weekend by Jojo. She left a huge gap between my cuticles and the nail, instead of looking like I just had my nails done recently it looks like if I had had them done weeks ago and let them grow out. Not happy at all. It seems they only care about working as fast as possible to get as many people in as possible in a day.

This was my first time going here and it was definitely worth the trip. I had a pedicure from Jojo and it was amazing. She took her time and my toes are wonderful! The only negative thing I would say is just go for the deluxe pedicure and don’t let them talk you into more pricier services.

At approximately 1:10 pm today, Sept. 11th, I was waiting for Emmy to fix two of my bent nails. The owner is Ken, who speaks Vietnamese all the time with a bad accent. Today, he and his old man receptionist, were extremely rude and unprofessional toward me. They started yelling about how Emmy was busy and couldnt see me right now. Kens voice became more threatening and I got scared. Ken and his receptionist owe me an apology and I hope they never treat their customers like this again. They are a poor example of the Vietnamese people, who control the nail salon businesses in Rapid City. Learn some respect Napoleons...

Staff was nice however the place is so unsanitary and the acrylic application is horrible. Will never go back- my nails came out HORRIBLE!!

The nail tech would not converse with me. I TRIED.Pedicureist was friendlier but didnt speak to me either, but offered me water.

I never have good ideas about what I want for my nails and she is so creative and talented so I let her come up with designs! Oh my goodness! So I recently moved to the mainland from Hawaii. Which has outrageous prices. Sometimes it’s worth it, sometimes it’s not.Well I got GEL acrylics for 60$!!! I haven’t seen that great of a deal for nails since 2015!I got my nails done by Ken who I absolutely lovedddd. He helped pick a better color by me just saying “a pink cappuccino clay color” and he found it!!! Talk about excellent service. Alsooooo he’s a total perfectionist.I am so pleasedWhen I got there, there was three other ladies that specifically asked for him, so that was an early on sign that I was lucky to be having my nails done by the man that everyone wanted.10/10 great service and my nails are amazing

I always use this place for my nail care needs. The staff are super kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. And my nails always look great.

I went in for a set of acrylic nails on 3/5. It was close to closing, they were able to get me and my friend in. I asked for a set of coffin shaped nails with a green ombre. I didnt realize at the time, that it wasnt going to work too well with gel polish, and I wasnt advised of it when I told her what I wanted. She was super nice, but when it got time to finish up, she mentioned that the ombre would have worked better if they were dipped. I attached pictures of how they turned out. Also, the tips she applied were too small for my nails so a good portion of my natural nail was sticking out. The polish was uneven and dented strange in places. I ended up going to TJs nails and Kim fixed them as best she could. Over all, it was not a very good experience.

So disappointed!! I chose the Deluxe Pedicure and I paid an extra $10 for the polish on top.My nails are chipping, it’s only been 3 weeks. I’ve gotten pedicures elsewhere and it’s always lasted me 8 weeks at least. Such a waste of $60!!

This was my second time trying Rockstar Nails. Both times they were not on time (I always call ahead to make an appointment.) We chose a color like the picture I presented however it was not the color as shown. The nail tech asks he goes by KoKo and KoKo rudely says that’s all we have. So the. She then paints gel over the dip... to make the color “match”. I now have multi-color awful nails. I gave them two chances. I will not be going back and do not recommend them if you are particular with your nails.

Not impressed.....had pedicure done and the polish came off within a week.

I was on a time crunch and they made me wait 30 minutes after telling me the time to arrive that they could get me in. After arriving they sat 4 people before me and never checked in on me. I walked out before they even talked to me.

We did not like the service we get deluxe pedicure and it does not feel like its a deluxe at all. Our nails made no difference at all! And they keep on talking their own language and cannot explain and understand what you want!

They were the only place that could get me in right away, which means they are fully staffed. And let me tell you super nice gentleman helped me out with my nails, I love when they have a personality. And another women was kind enough to help with my ingrown nail. Never felt pain and I really appreciate everything they did to help me feel comfortable and respected.

My aunt and I went in to get our nails done with the dip powder. My aunt went before me. It was a busy and I understand that. The guys that dealt with us were starting off into space or talking while using the drill. The guy that did my nails was very pushy and rough with my hands. After I showed him what I wanted, he told me that I NEED to do a full set just for the simple fact that they’d be “prettier.” I explained that all I wanted was the dip powder done and he was not happy about it. Extremely rough with my hands and nails which are sensitive due to what I do for work. After it was all said and done, he walks away without telling me that I’m good to go. I went up to the register and my aunt seen that they charged us WAY more than last time. My aunt was pulling out the cash and the guy was pushy. Once she finally set all the cash down, we were walking out and the guy said “show us some damn respect!” My aunt now has 4 open cuts on her cuticles due to the guy not paying attention. I do NOT recommend this place whatsoever. Terrible workers and terrible service.

I always get the best service here and wouldnt go anywhere else! Ken makes me feel so special every time I come in. When I call to make an appointment if he is out of town he is sure to have someone take good care of me. I cant say enough good about Ken and the beautiful job he does on my nails as well as such genuinely sweet and caring concern over each customer !

This nail store is amazing! Apparently management changed recently, and definitely for the better. The store is gorgeous, with lots of little decorative details. The place is clean throughout, and the staff was fun to talk to. I got the organic pedicure and manicure, and they did a fantastic job. Ive been around a lot of nail places across the country, and this is now one of my favorites.

I don’t know how they charge just gel for $48 (plus $10 tips) so I did normal gel spent $58 there. Over price than all other nails store and service not nice, also hurt my fingers !!! Bad experience!!!!

Got in and got started right away. Super fast was only in for 45 min. First time ever getting acrylics and I will definitely be coming back. Showed a pic for reference and they turned out perfect!!

I love Lee he is amazing I will not go anywhere else in Rapid City but to him!! Due to new ownership though if you want to get booked with him you have to say that you want him you cant to say that you want to get it done even if youre a regular client is the only downside to it! But still Lee is phenomenal you can tell him to just do whatever he wants as long as he gets the shape right for whatever you want done and your nails will turn out amazing he is so creative and just fun to be around whenever you go

They sat 8 people in pedicure chairs, with one person working, waited 1/2 hour till my feet were in cold water, I was with someone, they finally started her pedicure, mine stated 20 minutes later, my friend got a great Deluxe pedicure, while the person who did mine kept leaving. My Deluxe pedicure got done 5 minutes after my friends that stated 20 before. The guy just rushed through every step. $95 dollars plus tip! Will never go back and in addition to that they had an entire conversation in another language while they worked, no conversation with us at Al, n yes they spoke English it was rude. The little man at the front who took the money cleaned the Polish off that was all over my foot!

Staff was rude. The lady that was doing my nails kept trying to tell me what I did and didnt want. She was argumentative. By the end of my session I had to switch people because the lady who was originally doing my nails refused to fix one she had made too short. To top everything off she continued to walk around the store ranting in Chinese making it very very obvious she was talking about me. It was flat out rude. By the end of spending an hour and a half for a simple set of acrylics I was furious. I have never had worse service. Absolutely rude and uncalled for behavior. Would not ever recommend to a friend.

I went in on a Monday and had the best manicure I’ve had since I’ve lived in SD (3.5 yrs). It did take longer than usual, but it was worth it! I can’t remember the girls name (her tools had Kay written on them I think), but she sat on the right hand side as you walk in, on the second row/chair by the wall! Usually when I get gel polish, it snags my hair after about a week because it starts to come up as they grow out by the cuticle. I honestly thought that was normal b/c every single time I got them done, it happened. Well, I was wrong and she has shown me what right should look and feel like! She was very nice and had great customer service. The next time I go, I’ll be sure to get her name and update or make a new post! She is the best nail tech I’ve had since going there! If I’m spending $40+ on a manicure, my nails should be done correctly!

Ken was very rude and very ruff with my nails. when we had to go back in to get them fixed and he was even rider than the first time, and then he took pictures of me and my family so i took them back and he FLIPPED THE MIDDLE FINGER, to my TWELVE year old. i do not recommend at all

Love how they can do any style, solar french tip is what I got these ladies got white french tips. I recommend them if its your first time.

Ken is amazingggg!! He did my Halloween nails better than I even imagined, and when I broke one he got me in right away and fixed it for no charge. He’s amazing, he’s the only person who has EVER done my nails how I wanted them. Super funny too!

I thought I was in over my head wanting a pedicure with two girls one 2 years and one 7 months. But they did awesome. Very accommodating. They gave my girl a special princess chair and candy. Very happy!

They did such an amazing job on my pedicure. I’m losing my daughter to Anencephaly and (they did not know this) but the guy that did my pedicure put my daughters name on my toe nails without me even asking, he offered. He didn’t know it but it just made my day. ❤️

I got acrylics here, and the next day while I was putting on my shoe one of them completely cracked off. It was very painful and needless to say I want too happy with what had happened. I haven’t gotten acrylics many times however I did notice that all of my nails are very thin, so I’m just waiting for another break! They do accept walk-ins so I was patiently waiting however even when there was a nail tech open I still had to wait even longer. All in all very unsatisfactory especially for the high price.
