Awful, rude and lack empathy. My son hasnt been able to log into school and I havent been able to work. I had to waste my leave while they lie about an outage. Asked for a supervisor multiple times and was never given one. Switching TODAY! Do not waste your money!
I live in an area where we can only get Hotwire and its down constantly. Everyday there is a truck at the hub trying to fix something. If this wasnt the only company I would switch immediately. I just dont understand how it can go down so much. People are still home schooling their kids and without internet they cant submit work. Absolutely pathetic we pay the price we pay for the service we get.
This company does not know how to do their job. They do not know how to answer phone calls and they do not care about their customers since they will let them go on without internet instead of fixing the line. People are working from home and rely on their internet to do their job and kids also have to do school work, they are unable to do so because of their unwillingness to do their job.
Internet is absolutely abismal. Consistently has outages and terrible spike. Nothing but issues
We have only been in town for 3 days and already have had nothing but problems. It was hard to find a list of their channels and services online and I ended up having to just pick one and hope I like it. They were able to send a tech out on the 4th of July but it was pretty obvious that he just wanted to get done ASAP, including commenting that its been a long day as soon as he got there. He was very courteous, though. As he was leaving I asked about Wi-Fi and he told me that Id need to buy a router. I asked how hard that is to set up. Not hard at all, just follow the directions. So, following his direction, I went and bought one. After buying one and following the instructions, we had partial wi-fi (only in certain devices and even then not consistently) for about 30 hours. The instructions included activating the modem with the ISP. They had no idea. I chatted with the manufacturer, they had me reset the modem and again told me to activate it with the ISP. After calling and chatting with separate customer service reps I was told that they do not deal with 3rd party products (no explanation on why I was told to buy one) but the product I have, they also sell. However, they are not trained in 3rd party products but a tech will come IN A WEEK to try and figure it out. Its been a runaround between them and the manufacturer. As theyre the only company that services my neighborhood, I have nowhere else to turn for internet. (cable works fine after a day to work the kinks out tbh) Hopefully Ill be able to negate this post with a positive one before we leave.
Hotwire has done a much better job with customer service and reliability. The repair technicians are very knowledgeable and freindly.
So disappointed with the tech services. Been out to my house Monday-Friday this week the internet was working fine but the cable would not work. So on Friday the tech was aggravated so decided to cross my cable and internet cord.. Now on Friday night I have cable but no internet; I’m a full time college student with 2 essay and 2 test due this weekend. I have two kids that has projects due that needs internet access. I’m completely screwed with my homework and this is how Hotwire just let me be for the weekend.... 😭😭😭😭😭 if I don’t turn in my essay I fail English and sociology.... please help me Hotwire
If there was a rating even lower they would deserve it. If it were not for the HOA keeping another provider from offering services we would leave in a heartbeat.
So, we have been waiting six days to get our address added to Hotwire’s system but so far no luck. Spoke to 5 different stuffers and they supposedly escalated the case to 3/4 supervisors but no one can solve the puzzle of adding a service address to their system! The department manages address book for service cannot be contacted by the customer service by any other means but emails! Never seen a company so dysfunctional! Only reason I am still considering this because they got contracts with the builders and HOA for our neighborhood and at this point only option. Cannot wait to find a new provider or get 5G service that’s capable of supporting all of my data connections. I would probably give below zero stars if I could. This company shouldn’t be in business! The only reason the company is in business, it seems they do shady deals with builders and HOA’s and hold people hostage thru shady contracts.
They add charges, they have secret agreements with our property owners to keep a monopoly going.
This companies substandard services are a rip off. If you live in the Lexington Plantation community in Cameron, NC you should try and find an alternative cable and internet provider. Their internet is continually out of service and the cable is no better. The best part is having an HOA raised in for Hotwire. Avoid this company at all costs. If you do have to use this company ensure you have a unlimited data plan on your phone. It may be the only way to conduct business from home.
Extremely unreliable patchy service. Very substandard performance when it does work. The only reason this company stays in business is because they contract out to shady developers/property managers at cut rates. I’m glad I’m renting in Lexington plantation! You’d have a tough time selling a house at or above market value in 2018 with internet this unreliable. Absolute garbage.
I don’t recall the last time I reviewed a company a 1/5 but the constant outages and unprofessional staff. If your community is looking for internet I would highly recommend another company.
Absolutely terrible service provider. Internet is slow, intermittent and consistently is down for days at a time.
Internet has been down completely twice this month. Now it is up but it keeps disconnection making us reset the router 10 to 20 times everyday. The internet service is so terrible Im going to purchase time Warner even though hotwire is included in my rent.

Unreliable internet service. Unreasonable customer support hours. Frequent service interuptions and cut fiber cables. Not a good service to use if you plan on using internet to work from home, go to school, etc. Binding contract with community developer leaving neighborhood with expensive infrastructure fees whether the service is used or not. Im giving a whopping one star because I have to leave something. Their customer service is on track with their uptime, which is terrible. Outages at least once per month, and always the same excuses. If I had other options, I would run to them. Living in 6 states, with multiple internet providers, I have never had the trouble with internet the way we have with Hotwire.
If I could give hot wire zero stars I would ! If it wasn’t for Hotwire being the only internet provider in our neighborhood I would have switched a long time ago. Not only do we pay too much to use it but the service goes out weekly !
The worse ISP overall zero stars is the most it should receive.Hotwire Communcations is trash. This company is seriously affecting the Real Estate market value of the properties located in Lexington Plantation.

Avoid this company at all costs. These people had me waiting for a service appointment for 2 hours only to call me to say they wouldn’t be there until tomorrow. This company is unprofessional and should not be in business. Organizations that use this company should look elsewhere!
