I was referred to HBJ by a neighbor. I am new to the area and I was excited (but nervous) to try a new stylist in my new home town. Joey scheduled me with Kaitlyn and I was very impressed. She is a good listener and promotes the safest route to healthy hair. She is very informative and takes her time to explain why your idea for a style or color may not work with your hair type. Then she comes up with a safe alternative. Kaitlyn is easy to talk to and did a great job. She also works on SUNDAYS and Mondays which is normally unheard of in the hair business! I called to make an appt asking for someone who was good with curly thick hair and Joey set me up with Kaitlyn. My hair was dry and damaged from too many bleach washes I did and I needed a lot cut off. I showed Kaitlyn what I wanted and she listened and asked questions, then confidently started on my hair. The cut turned out so cute but she wanted to make sure it was right after it dried naturally and asked me to pop back in if anymore needed to be cut after the curls had a chance to shrink up. This is so rare for hair salons and I very much appreciated it. Most salons just let you walk out and you dont feel comfortable going back in to have them tweak it. She actually invited it and I did need more cut off (which is much better than too much taken off) I am so very happy with my finished result! I love it!! Even though this was a traumatic thing getting so much cut off due to damage I actually dont even miss my long hair! Thank you so much, I will return for sure for the same cut!

My husband and I relocated to Prescott and I hadnt had my hair cut for more than a year. I made an appointment at Hair By Joey based upon word of mouth and research on-line. My grey hair was very long, too long, and Kaitlyn cut and styled it to a layered, shoulder-length bob that requires minimum attention from me, just what I had asked for. Kaitliyn is a very good listener and she is easy to work with. My hair looks great and my husband thinks so, too! Thank you, Kaitlyn!

The worst haircut I have ever had. The guy tried to rush through and ended up pushing the fade halfway up my head so now there is just an awkward chunk of hair missing. On the other side, it looks like he just took an electric shaver right down the side and called it good. Nothing blends together and it just looks horrific.

I have finally decided to transition to salt and pepper. The process is amazing. They keep the condition of your hair number ONE, and space your appointments if needed, during this process. Kaitlyn and Mary are the best. My transformation will be completed by next week!!!! I love it there!!

Awesome experience, I was nervous because I have long hair and I didn’t want to lose a bunch of length, but Mary did a fantastic job at cleaning up my ends and keeping my length. The only complaint that I had was my appointment was booked for two and it started at almost 2:20. Other than that I loved the experience, and the people there are fantastic. :)

I was thoroughly impressed with my recent experience at Hair By Joey. Incredibly, this was my first haircut in a salon since the pandemic began a year ago. I was concerned about the health and safety of resuming haircuts in public again, and I have to say I made an excellent choice for my first pandemic-era haircut!Joeys commitment and sensitivity to the current health and safety concerns really stood out above any other salon I had contacted. I was able to make a late evening appointment so that I could reduce contact with other customers, and Joey wore a mask without hesitation.The salon was clean and comfortable, and the haircut itself was absolutely rejuvenating! Im new to town and feel so lucky to have found this salon. Mary has cut and colored my shoulder length straight hair a couple of times now and I am very happy with the results. Because of her great job at layering my hair, I am able to make it look good on my own. She is very professional and personable. I highly recommend this salon.

After more than 10 years with the same stylist, the thought of changing to someone new because he was retiring concerned me. I have curly hair and one bad cut can take a LONG recovery time. I met with Kaitlyn for the first time Sunday. She spent a lot of time with me and the results were fabulous. She is talented, calm and just enough edgy so I wont look like every other woman my age. The studio is lovely, thoughtfully planned out and not just your typical salon space. Loads of parking AND they are open 7 days a week! Recommend the salon and Kaitlyn highly!

I made an appointment with Mary, and when I arrived, I was welcomed with warmed smiles. Mary was really beautiful, my daughter told me that she looks like the girl from Adams family movie :). First, my impression was the salon was very clean and fresh, it had an OM sign at the front, I thought they had yoga/massage beauty treatment too. But seemed like only hair beauty. I came in and it looked really nice inside. I showed her the hairstyle I wanted, first she washed my hair then she cut it. She was very professional.and knowledgeable, even though she was young, she knew what she was doing. She did very good with the style I wanted, even more better than I expected. The cutting and the styling she made/did made my haircut looks more than I expected, even better that what looked from the picture. I came out looked better, fresher and younger. My daughter hardly gave me any compliment, but she told.me the hair cut made me looks so much better. Thanks so much Mary. Ill be your regular. Good luck. She was meticulous working hair almost strand by strand to make the color removal perfect and gentle to my hair. I felt welcome and had great hair when I left. Joey is very professional and truly the best hairstylist in town. I was looking for a hairstylist to create a new toupee entirely which is a difficult task not many hairdresser would do it. But the moment I talked to Joey I knew he could do it and I had trust in him and it turned out to be so good and I have my confidence again! Tawney corrected a bad cut that Ive been struggling to grow out for the last 2 years by adding a few more layers. My hair grows tremendously slow. She listened and made suggestions for correcting my cut with a dry cut so she could see exactly how my hair was reacting. Two days later I came back for a deep Olaplex conditioning treatment for my extremely dry hair. Very Pleased.

Joey does great cuts. Bonus is that hes got a great personality and his shop has a great vibe: Its upscale but never pretentious. Arrive early to take advantage of the crazy sophisticated massage chair! This last time I forgot my phone at Joeys shop -and he offered to drop it off to me at work (talk about superior customer service -thanks Joey!)

Kaitlyn was amazing! I have been highlighting my hair for 30 years and have had some good hair stylists over the years but I was never totally satisfied with the color. It always seemed too golden and I wanted more of a platinum blonde. Kaitlyn listened and was persistent in getting the color I wanted. She really cares about taking care of the hair to not over process or damage the hair. She got the color right. I have never been more happy with my hair color than I am now. Thank you so much! I am new to Prescott and I choose Hair by Joey on line because they had good reviews. I didn’t know what to expect and it turned out I had a reaction to one of the products that was used. Tawney handled the situation very professionally and kindly.. She researched more gentle products that would be likely to not cause a reaction in my situation, and to be certain the alternative product would be safe for me, she applied a small patch above my elbow for 24 hours to test for any reaction. Since I had no reaction to the alternative product Tawney completed my cut and color. I love it and I highly recommend this salon!

First cut was average. The second visit was not good. I brought in a photo to show what I wanted and the cut was nothing like the photo.I am going to try John Hancock Barbershop..

So I desperately needed a haircut after a mishap at a different salon. I called Hair By Joey and they were able to take me the same say. Caitlyn cut my hair and she was so friendly, patient, and really funny. The shop itself is absolutely beautiful and the entire staff was so nice. I absolutely love my new haircut! Caitlyn did exactly what I asked for and Ive been getting complimented ever since. They even gave me a $10 discount for it being my first time there. The haircut was only $50 and was probably the best hair cut Ive ever gotten!

Nice little place! Very professional and Tawny, my stylist, definitely knows whats shes doing. She took the time to actually listen to what I wanted and had the skills to execute it perfectly. Very happy with my cut! She advised me on the best products and shampoo/conditioners for my particular hair which was soooo helpful. I also love the online scheduling feature they offer, and that they have appointments available later in the day and in the evening.

Tawney is amazing at what she does. My hair is healthier than when I went in and looks better than I thought it could. The Salon has an amazing Zen Ambience and blows away the other salon I went to before I found this one. Tawney listened to what I was looking for and delivered exactly that. Joey has been my barber for years now. I actually refuse to get my hair cut by anyone else because I love his work so much. Hair By Joey is more than just a barbershop. You dont just get a haircut, you get an experience. For what youre getting, Joey could easily charge more than he does. Youll get a GREAT haircut (especially if you have curly hair like me), but youll also get a complementary drink, a chocolate for the road, and some time in his state of the art massage chair. On top of this, Joey is a wonderful person to talk to. The whole experience is relaxing and luxurious. I recommend this place to everyone I know.

Went in 6 month’s ago to transition from dark hair to blonde after 3 bleach process over 5 months no hair breakage and healthy hair 4th treatment 6 months later and came out with one inch hair on all my top of hair and undercarriage. One month since this happened and hair still breaking!!!!
