I used to come to this salon all the time. It’s my go to when I need a quick fill in or pedicure. After today, I will Absolutely NEVER come back. The guy who did my nails hardly shaped them at all, dang near sanded my nails to my nerves, kept falling asleep while doing my nails. I asked Him to stop and get a different tech 3 TIMES! He had acrylic all over my hands, polish all over, I had to ask him to fix them more than once. My nails are now all jacked up and he charged me $95 for my pedi and my fill in. Which is absolutely outrageous!!! My nails are all different shapes and lengths, the color is patchy, and it took him 3 hours to do a fill in and a pedicure. That’s the longest time I’ve ever been at a salon. I had to come home reshape my nails and I also Had to strip off the color he did because it looks like a 2 year old did it. Will never return!

The person taking care of me had some type of palsy. I spent 2 1/2 hours for a simple pedicure and an acrylic nail fill! He seemed friendly enough, and I felt sorry for him, but I noticed he kept forgetting things (I have been getting pedicures for 30+ years). He would do something to one foot and then not the other. He would stop in the middle of what he was doing and then never return to it. When he was painting the nails, he had to keep going between the polish and a brush with acetone to correct his mistakes.And then ... we began the fill. Lets just say that after the excruciating length of time it took him to finish, I ended up with irregular nails of all types of thickness, some rounded some squared.To top all of this off, he charged me $94.00. The pedicure I chose from their menu was $32.00, so the acrylic fill was $62.00!!!!!! I will never return to Sky Nails.

I walked in and was seated right away. They showed a willingness to help me and even offered suggestions on designs. They asked consistently how I felt and if the job they were doing was ok. I loved the atmosphere and the friendliness. I loved the outcome of my pedicure also. Soooo dope! I’ll be coming here again!

This is my regular nail salon . Lately I’ve been contemplating going here anymore. No matter who does my nails besides owner, it’s always rushed and has been subpar. The last time I left with my nails looking like press on nails since the fill was so thick around my cuticles

Ben is the absolute best. I went to another nail salon in Portsmouth and was utterly disgusted to the point that I removed my feet from the cold pedicure water solution and left. Upon arriving at Sky Nails I explained my delimma and Ben took it from there providing A+ service from beginning to end. He actually massaged my feet. Im keeping him! If I could give 10 stars I would.

Very good establishment when they are not too busy. The more people they try to manage the more the quality of service declines. Went on Thurs, couldnt get a pedicure too busy, got a fill in & my nail cracked on Sat. This doesnt happen when they take their time!!

My pedicure was rushed a lady beside where I was seated wasn’t even fished by the time I was done and she started before me receiving the same pedicure #1 regular pedicure….! Horrible will not come again

Ive been a few times. I love the spa pedicures but my whole nail isnt painted. I no longer allow them to cut my toenails because my least trip left me with a lop-sided nail.. on the upside my eyebrows were perfect 🥰. This trip left my brows less than perfect and requiring to be filled in with liner once home. It all depends on whom you get I guess.

DO NOT COME DO THIS PLACE AT ALL. I’ve come here two times in a row about 2 hours before closing. I called before coming but no one answered the phone. There were only about 2 people waiting to be serviced ahead of me and the door was locked and they just looked me dead in the face and had a conversation debating about whether or not to open the door. I was told i could come back the next day and I did. Both times the staff was very rude and would not let me enter, when all i wanted was the color drilled off of my nails due to uniform regulations. They both shared very rude tones in their voices as if they did not want to answer any questions or interact with clients. Both times the staff members lied and said they were closed, when they indeed close at 8 pm.

This was my first time going to the salon and I had a nice experience. Too many of people were told to come in at the same time but they worked everything out in an orderly manner.

Do not answer phone or hang up when you call.

I had to wait a hour then some while they pick and choose who they serve instead of going in the order in which we came in and then they were a little rude. Did decent on my nails but its not worth what there charging.

Called for overlay they said one price on the phone, got there it went up $20, fine lady doing my nails is slathering on the gel nail thick as HELL when asked why she then states I was rude and use profound language. Her way of not finishing her job. Now you want me to sit in time out and wait for another tech....BYE CHIN SUN

I will never go to this place again. I went to them twice to get my nails fix. First time, my right hand look like I had on Lee press on and a nail cracked. Second time I had them redone and 2 nails broke within a week. The first nail was just tying a head scarf on my head and broke off. I just got them done last week. Nah, Im done with this establishment.

I had strip lashes applied on a Friday and only one side was done correctly, got it fixed the following day, the same problem occurred, so I went back again and got them removed. Now tell me how can you charge for removal when the lash was improperly applied. I’ll never go back, glad I only spent $15, which I could’ve saved for something else more important. Wish I could give 0 stars !

Nail tech ‘Strong’ did my acrylic full set as well as pedicure and the work done was very neat... he paid attention to the details. Salon was clean. Only cons were there was not any dividers to protect you from germs or contact from you and the nail tech and you from the other customer sitting next to you, (which prevents you from being able to ‘social distance’ properly as other nail salons have during these Covid times. The other con Which is why the low stars is- all well as he did on my full set, my right thumb nail cracked/broke the same evening with little to no wear or tear on my hands. 😞

Not a fav for nails, but there are a few techs that can do really great pedis. Think twice about getting your nails done and make sure you observe which nail tech you get. Theres only two women I havent had the pleasure of using that seem like they know how to paint and care for your nails. And be sure if you are using your natural nail you dont leave with a thin coat of gel polish, because if your nail break and ask for a coat 1 or 2 days after getting your nails done they wont do it.

I wanted individual lash extensions! Vi was very professional and has made this the best experience.

Pedicure was done she was actually the nicest person in there until I got finished and I payed 30$ and she stood there and said more. Didn’t give me a chance to tip her. Eyelashes were next she did fine. Returned another day to get lashes they were late opened at 9 nobody there til 9:30 person there couldn’t offer service I needed. So I waited til 10 another girl arrived sat in the chair. She wanted me to open my eye while she put the lashes on glue was burning my eye so I asked her to wait she took the lashes off she applied and told me to wait for someone else. I waited 20 more minutes for the next person to say she doesn’t do lashes . No lashes.. RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL

Wish I could do negative 10 went there for a fill in and fix one nail and put chrome polish on two nails which she didn’t even tell me it was extra till later anyway nails that look like 25 dollars I was charged. 50 then had the nerve to ask for a tip. I could have gotta them done much cheaper at a few shops for what the did but I paid the next day the chrome I paid extra for rubbed off it won’t any need to go back I know they would have made an excuse don’t use that shop I was referred by a friend now I’m so upset with the results

We made an appointment to try to avoid the crowd because I was taking my Mom and daughter. My Mom is high risk for covid and other sickness so we will be going somewhere else until or if they dont put up dividers. Also my pedicure water was really cold but my daughter couldnt even put her feet in the water. I wish I would have looked at my polish before leaving because I noticed lots of bubbles and streaks once I got home.

I was incredibly hesitant to go here as I frequent Anthony Vince and the reviews were horrible. Howeve, I didnt feel like traveling that far in rain and traffic one day. The place was clean and attendants were nice. I was serviced by Ben who was very clean, meticulous and nice to chat with. I left extremely happy but the next day my gel started peeling. I called to inform them and they said come back. I did, and Ben redid the whole set. Turns out the UV light he used was old. I would definitely return to this location.

Their hours aren’t accurately posted. They are extremely busy which I understand. But after 7pm don’t bother showing up hunnies. Polish is cheap(it chips) and only one nail artist knows kinda what they’re doing. Cheap for a reason.

Absolutely amazing!!! Vi is wonderful! She fixed my nails that had been really messed up from getting them done at a previous nail salon. She took her time and she was very gentle. I showed her a picture of the style nails I wanted and she made it happen without any complaints. I will definitely be going back to her from now on!

I have never been so displeased with my nails in my life and I have been getting my nails done for over 15 years. I was also told that the nail she applied was not crooked, it was my finger that was crooked. Funny, it wasn’t crooked when I went into the salon. There is polish all over my fingers, my cuticles weren’t cleaned up AT ALL and there are multiple nails that are uneven and filed crooked. On top of that, the woman doing my nails caught multiple attitudes when I asked her to fix a nail and to use clean files when she started using old ones. I went in when they opened as to make sure there was no rush and still got trash nails. I have been getting pedicures here and my eyebrows done for over 3 years and I promise, I won’t soend another dime in this salon again. Save yourself the trouble and save your coins and go to a better salon!Update: 6 nails had popped off completely by Sunday (day 3) and the rest are gone by Tuesday morning (day 5). Absolutely ridiculous.

Cash only, also when you make up an appointment. You still have to wait for a half hour to an hour.

I will never go back to this place. I had a long wait time and didnt even get all of the services completed. The lady who did my nails and toes did a great job but just took too long. First time trying here and the last.

I have been coming here for 4 years. Van is absolutely wonderful, but most of the rest of the staff are careless and rude. The first time I went in for a full set. The end product was terrible and lasted for 2 days before I had to go to another shop to fix and smooth out the acrylic. I went back to sky nails for a simple acrylic take off (of the hack job done before). I was asked if i wanted a cut down of MY nails-I declined. My natural nails are very strong and well kept, I got a full set for a function. The nail tech was extremely rough in removing the acrylic RIPPING off my natural nail. She then goes on to say “the nail weak anyway.” I let her know that I understood the nail may be weak which is why I usually go for an overlay afterwards. She then says “you need one!” As if I just didn’t acknowledge that. Once she finished the second hand I told her to go ahead and cut the nails down since she had already done so with the previous hand. She did a half job with tat and left my nails uneven and jagged. I am highly and utterly disappointed with my services. She didn’t even apologize or take responsibility for her actions. I’m not one to make a scene to I paid for her below sub-par services and left. I will not be returning-I’m sorry Van.

It’s ok I guess but anytime my nails are popping off a week 1/2 after there done is a red flag I usually get 3 weeks to a month of the none gell full set at other shops I just went here because I just moved here and it’s 5 minutes from me but probably my last time going here unless I’m in a hurry.

I usually go to a salon in the Chesapeake square mall.. after they messed up my nails to the point where I had to file them myself at home and put glitter on them so you couldnt notice the uneven surface, I came here. Van took care of me with excellent service as soon as I walked in the door . She not only fixed my scary nails, she made them better than they have ever been. Found my new nail salon!!!

Worst nail salon I’ve ever been to. Was the first one in there when I visited and still waited 30 minutes to be seen. While getting my nails done (I got a full set) behind me I hear a woman being treated poorly for asking for something specific. Rude. The paint job done was the worst I’ve ever had done. Rushed service. 5 days after I got them done I already had one break. Never had that happen before. Don’t go to this place. Worst experience ever.

I have been going here since moving to Portsmouth, so almost a year. Right off the bat had a great experience, because I had Jenny! Shes an amazing nail tech and knows her stuff! However, she has now left and I havent been satisfied since.:( If anyone knows where Jenny went and if shes at a new shop, pleeeeease help!!

0 stars if I could. I gave the guy a picture for reference and he proceeded to start doing his own thing which looked NOTHING like the picture. While he was using the drill he burned and ripped FOUR of my fingers which all started to bleed. I asked him to stop so I could go wash my hands and he proceeded to tell me to hold on and continued to use other tools on all (including my already bleeding) fingers. I got up and washed them and told them that Im done and hes not doing anything else to my nails. The guy still charged me THIRTY dollars.

Spent $80 for a full set and pedicure which only lasted a week.... if that. The materials used were cheap( acrylic and polish) and the biggest gap was left between my cuticle and the acrylic. I was told when getting gel, that’s how it’s supposed to be. I’ve been getting gel for years now and never had a full set last less than a week.... NEVER AGAIN

Super RUDE and Unprofessional. Went in to get a nail fixed this morning. Lady tried to put just the liquid acrylic without a tip. So its already bending, I ask for a tip as I have coffin nails and its my Pinky finger that needs repair. You dont need tip, I do this long time and most people dont want tip, to which I reply Im NOT most people and you should accommodate the customer. I stated this will break, if it break you come back I fix.. uhhh that DEFEATS my purpose of coming to have nail fixed. Needless to say I had her take the gunk off and decided NOT to waste my time or money. Avoid this place they dont value customers and try to do shady work!

The qaulity of the work is terrible though my first set wasnt even a week old before they started lifting. Was not impressed the second time either.

This place used to be nice and it has gone down hill. I had to wait 35 min to be seen for a fill and the customer service was poor. The tech who did my nails is rude and so was the guy tech beside her. As soon as she finally got to me she started ripping off my nails and the tech beside her kept chiming in making rude remarks about my nails. She never even asked if i wanted them repaired, or told me i needed them to be replaced. She was too fast and rough. Then i gave her my polish and asked if i could use it and she said no because the bottle was too low. I asked if they had anymore in stock and she acted annoyed, pushing the bottle out of the way and saying she would check later. She never did. Then she asked if i want gel, i politely said no and her and the tech beside her began to make snooty comments about my selection. She asked me 2 more time and i gave her a firm NO THANK YOU! She continues to do my nails very rushed. I waited 35 min and she did my nails in less than 15. All the while, her and her co-worker are making rude comments and laughing because i didnt select gel. When she was done she said shes finished and i dried my nails. I then later asked someone who the manager was, and i was dismissed and shooed away. I am very disappointed in the poor customer service and the way I was treated. When you pay for something you expect a good experience. I am now reminded why i stopped going to these shops. They treat you like a number. I will never be back....ever!!!!!!! This place is terrible and dont give them your money. They dont care about your service!!!!!!!!

Can I give a negative 5 stars? The nail tech was very unskilled, none of the acrylic nails look good at the cuticles, none of them are the same thickness, and several are crooked! Even the polish job looks atrocious. I have been filing and re shaping them for hours but there is no saving them. I will never be back!

Over priced compared to others in area. Quality of work has gone down recently. Long wsit times, even with appointments.

This is a very dishonest establishment! The price listed on the board as the basic pedicure is not the price of the pedicure on the list once you sit down; it’s about $7 more. They ask you to pick a nail polish but don’t explain that it’s not included in the cost and that the gell polish will cost more. The man rushed through my pedicure and no one was waiting. At the end he tells me the total is $45, which was nearly $20 more than the listed price of the basic pedicure listed on the board that I asked for. I will not be back. If you still decide to go I suggest you ask up front what your total will be and don’t expect for them to take their time or be gentle.

Just relocated from Florida & I thought I’d try a new nail shop being it was convenient for me . Everyone was nice, But there was a lot of miscommunication. I was told one price before I had my toes & nails done & when I come to pay the price it was more than what was confirmed. I let them know “I’m sorry but that’s not what I was told” & the lady at the front (pregnant woman) who helped me from beg., knew she was wrong because then she tried to explain why . That should have been explained before when I asked about the price now I’m told 80. Completely embarrassed, I let her know all I had was 40 & she swiped my card for 60 . while I was speaking to Bryant she swiped again for 22 dollars to see if the rest would come off and it went through but now I’m over drafted . They took an extra $2 . the first day my rhinestone came off & I returned the next day asking could they refund me for the two nails ($16) & to make it like the rest & they said no but we can fix . Not what I asked. They were no longer nice. As a new customer, I expected to be treat differently than what I received. Unsatisfied completely!!!!!! Sad to say I’m just seeing everyone else’s reviewer which I should have checked before going ! They are horrible ! No bueno ! No customer service what so ever !

When I first started coming here the environment was really friendly. My last couple of visits have been terrible. The techs have no euthusium about their work. I wont be coming back!!

Usually never had an issue but last few times I went I was rushed treated rudely. My feet has only been done a week paint is already chipping. Also looks as if she rushed my feet paint was very sloppy. They charge extremely to much to be messing up.

I was a regular customer until my last visit this week. I came in for a gel mani/pedi. I told the girl twice I just wanted a regular pedi but was given a higher priced deluxe one... that was the first strike on this visit but I let it slide. My toenails were not filed smooth and she rushed through removing the dead skin on my overpriced pedicure - strike 2. Strike 3 was after painting on the gel polish she simply put a regular topcoat over it and did not cure it with the UV light! I asked about this and all she said was sorry..... Strike 4 was rushing through my mani and not fully removing all the dead skin and cuticles. She left gel polish on the skin around my nails and it looked like a child painted them. At this point I was more than annoyed, paid and left. Strike 5 was getting home to find the polish already peeling off my toes. I ended up removing the polish myself and repainting my own toes. No way was I going back to have them fix it. Strike 6 came a day after that when the gel polish on my nails was already lifting off the sides of my nails and chipping along the cuticle line! So for $60 I got an upcharged pedi with polish that didnt even last an hour and a gel mani already ruined after a day and a half. I suspect the nail tech added acetone to the gel polish to dilute it and making it peel off my nails. They have completely lost my business after this and I was once a regular customer.

Horrible customer service. The technician was so hurried that the very next day 4 out of 10 nails were peeling off and by the 4th day all the nails except the thumbs were popped off and for $85 it is NOT worth it.

The bald man was very aggressive, he grabbed my wrist forcing my hand under the dryer and i repeatedly said ouch and he still continued . He was rough taking my old nails off and kept huffing and puffing with attitude, also my aunt went there as well and was not pleased, the lady was rough on her and gave her the wrong color that did not match her toes
