Never had any lanes available for swimming and no timeline was ever given for when reservation-only pool use would be ending. Charged me for a full extra month when I never used the facility in the 16 days I had a membership. Never had a negative experience with any other Y chapter Ive been a member of.

The customer service I received was horrible. They clearly did not care for my feedback upon cancellation and could not even bother to confirm after several follow up emails. The equipment selection and space available for working out is scare. I have had many YMCA memberships in several states and this was by far the worst facility and experience. I usually do not go out of my way to write a bad review but the company’s lack of response and acknowledgement made me feel as though my money and support during these challenging times was not appreciated. I was not treated in the manor in which they claim. “The Granite YMCA creates a community where all are welcome and builds a healthy spirit, mind and body based on the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility“ pulled from their site and not a word of it coveys my experience.

I visited here from Rochester,NY 08/02/19. I had the pleasure of being greeted by Sue. She was very courteous to me and made me feel so welcome while checking me in being that my membership was from out of state. Thank you Sue if your reading this❤

We are currently sending our daughter to YMCA of the Seacoast’s summer camp at Camp Gundalow. It is the worst camp we have ever sent her to. There are very few set activities, according to her. She says they have “free time” where she sits and talks to her friends at least twice a day. They have three set activities which are arts and crafts, sports and free swim. They do not have swimming lessons as she has had at the two other YMCA camps she’s been too. She also says they do not make the kids eat lunch, the are allowed to essentially have an extra free time if they do not want to eat. Lunch should be required when kids are running around in the sun all day. She also has to attend before and after camp because we work which are also of the “free time” format. She has come home with a sunburn every day she has been at the camp and says the only make her put on sunscreen BEFORE free swim which means it washes right off. We complained to the directors about her getting sunburned and they told us, “A lot of parents have complained about that. We really have to do something.” It is also one of the most expensive camps in the area and I expect a lot more for the money we are spending. I would not recommend sending your children to YMCA of the seacoast’s summer camp at Camp Gundalow if you have other options.

Could be much better. Ive belonged to many many YMCAs in my life and this is the worst. The only reason I go here is because of the financial assistance. I will say the staff is pretty friendly though and have never had any kind of problem with any of them. The floors in the weight room are always filthy. The weight room wasnt really put together by someone who is really into working out and getting stronger it seems. Seems more built for older people. I had to request a straight bar attachment for the cable machine when i arrived... Pretty much the most basic attachment ever. Most of the dumbbells are broken and the heads move a lot and it is just a matter of time before they fall apart on someone. Ive told them about this several times. they just take the dumbbell out of the weight room and someone puts it back later. They only have one squat rack and no smith machine. They only have one bench and no incline or decline bench. They also only have one set of plate weights for the bench and the squat rack so if someone is lifting heavy you have to weight a long while to use the other. There isnt enough room for workouts other than weights too if the class room is in use. The pool doesnt have the greatest hours and they seem to close all the lanes for classes more than they should rather than leaving one lane open for lap swimming. If you arent receiving financial assistance i would check out seacoast sports club, about the same price and you get more.

Poor mans Y; weights are falling apart, equipment is outdated, and very little elbow room in the fitness room and locker rooms. Only one shower has hot water; and its been like that for at least a year. This place needs a facelift badly. I dont understand the cheapness all-around given the costs; they limit childcare hours, swim hours, weekend hours, and the hours always vary day-to-day and season-to-season; very difficult to keep track of, and too much pinching pennies to in order to limit staff payroll.
