The atmosphere is great! I absolutely loved being there. However, the food is definitely premade freezer food and poor quality. Its been a long time since Ive ate low quality food like that. My family and I had ate there for dinner and we all woke up with severe stomach pain. Also, I had ordered a mixed drink from their specialty menu. It was called cherry blow pop. It looked fantastic but it was bad tasting. I think it just wasnt the righ proportion. And she had added something that tasted like chocolate which didnt blend well. The place has so much potential and I was looking forward to their food and especially their drinks. I feel a bit let down

The food wasnt bad but the service is slow and absolutely the worst coffee ive ever had in my life . Took about a hour to eat breakfast, and i hope u dont want any refills. I should have just went else where to eat

I am blown away with how great their food is. From their dinner rolls, their side salad, green beans... and HOLY COW the Maple Glazed Salmon literally melts in your mouth. Kristi was my waitress and she was super attentive and nice! Kind of disappointed I’m from out of town and can’t visit this place more! lol

We went for the special Valentines dinner and it was amazing! The food was good, our server Kendall was so great, and the atmosphere was delightful. We will definitely make this our annual holiday dinner.

I have stayed at the holiday many times for work. There is no better feeling after a long drive than getting to my hotel that has a great restaurant and bar. Jarred the bartender has amazing people skills and a great bartender. He remembers names, drinks and meals of people who come frequently. That is one of the best qualities of a bartender.They have a good selection of beers along with mix drinks. The menu is large but the food is better than expected for a hotel restaurant. The prime rib sliders are turkey amazing.I would highly recommend eating and drinking here

Great food at decent prices. Everything from typical bar burgers and bar fare to steaks and kabobs. Good place for a date... and a great bar. Table service with linen cloths and linen napkins. Highly recommended for the great atmosphere.

I made a reservation (with Paula) for my parents to have a romantic dinner for their 50th wedding anniversary. Terry was their server and they were very pleased!My dad is in a wheelchair (Parkinsons Disease) and they had a much needed night out.They had the table ready with gold plates & black dinner napkins (theme colors for 50th anniversary) & the candle burning & fresh ice water waiting.THANK YOU for making my parents evening special!!P.S. Yes, the food was great too! 😁

I think some of the negative reviews are highly exaggerated. The food is overpriced, but that is to be expected at Hotel Restaurant/Bar. My experience today was friendly service and good food. I feel the service is laid back, but it is 7:00 in the morning and I don’t want hustle and bustle, so I’m fine with it. My food came out fresh in relatively little time. Overall my experience today has been very good.

We had our offices Christmas party at Oscars, and it was amazing! The decorations were beautiful, the staff was so accommodating and hospitable, the food and drinks were delicious, and the entire event was wonderful! We would recommend Oscars to anyone looking to book a really nice event in the Portsmouth area.

Our waiter, Terry, was top notch! He took care of our every need. The food was just as good as Terrys service.

As a rule I stay away from hotel food but decided to try it. We went as a group and was during the evening. The food was terrible. The steak was so tough I could not eat it. Nor did I want to eat it. The menu consists of one front page. The fish was deep fried like you would get at any fast food place but they charged 23 dollars for it. I didnt see any reason why someone would want to eat here other than just to say you did and spent a lot of money to do it. Worst place I have eaten in Portsmouth.

We were a party of 12. TERRY was excellent! We kept him hopping and he delivered for us all! Food was great, Terry was great! Well be back for sure.

Best steak and lobster Ive ever had! My family and I eat here at least once a week. Staff is always friendly with a warm laid back atmosphere.

$130 a night hotel, and breakfast isnt free? Ok, Ill pay for my breakfast.... Oh, the Western skillet looks great, it says two eggs any style so I asked instead of getting it on the skillet, can I get it as a cheese omelet on the side?.... Nope! Had to stand at the please wait to be seated for 5 minutes.... Busy? Nope! 1 person eating. Ordered hot tea, no spoon with the silverware to stir the sugar in. Food is a decent, and with only one other person eating, it came out quick. Overall bad experience!

If you like crappy, overpriced food, and subpar service, this is your paradise! Do you hate refills and smiling service? Do you shiver at the thought of getting your food in a timely manner? If so, come here! Nice rolls and decor, though.

Best Grilled Pork Chops--EVER!!

I’ve eaten at Oscars on several occasions and each time the atmosphere was quite nice and the service was friendly, but the menu options and food quality were dull and underwhelming. Not terrible, just...incredibly dull. Most menu items are overpriced, but one can usually expect that from a restaurant housed within a hotel; however, no one expects a small slice of pie, scratch made or not, to cost around $8!
