I visited these apartments recently and met a member of the maintenance staff his name is David Green. I compliment him and all the staff on how well maintained the apartment buildings were. Also, the grounds were immaculate. It amazed me how buildings with such a long history could be well maintained.

The Maintenance Technician named David works hard at staying on top of problems as they arise. He also responds quickly to emergency calls. Great employee!

Theres a problem with roaches, the sink in the bathroom occasionally gets clogged and theres a hole in the wall when you first enter my building. Theres a foul smell in the hallway due to my neighbors bath tub being stopped up. The rent has gone up $230 so now I pay $850 for an apartment that has no renovations 1 bed 1 bath and only 500 Sq feet smh. The laundry room is almost always out of order and the presence of crime still exist in the area. At this point this will probably be my last year here!

I can’t say enough about these apartments. I love it here. It has convenient stores and restaurants close by and I can get to work with little effort! And the staff! Courtney has always been professional and polite and gets right on any issue I may have quickly!

Christina is making things happen. I can see the change in just 4months when Ive lived here 2 years.

Christina is new but she has been the most helpful, been here over 10 years and its a perfect community for me.

My experience with maintenance technician David G. was that he was very professional and knowledgeable.

Maintenance is atrocious. They also will raise your rent hundreds every new lease while doing less and less to the grounds and making no improvements to the apts or community. The grounds and common use halls used to be cleaned daily. They shut down the laundry facilities for months to improve them but didnt do anything. Also no security now where they used to patrol all the time. Theres been a noticed posted on the common door about adding locks to the outside doors for over a year and hasnt been done. They charge you for every thing including monthly pest control which is someone coming once a year and putting glue traps from Walmart in a couple places.

Christina is the new manager at Bay View Gardens. She has only been here a month and is already changing things around! With her experience, I do not doubt that there is more exciting changes to come!

Christina is well on her way to changing this place around and making it a wonderful place to live! We appreciate her business and enjoy working with her.

Trifling roach and rat infested for a small box like living space with one bathroom. Toilet overflowed all weekend into the neighbor’s house and we all called emergency maintenance with NO response. Worse place ever and I always make sure to tell everyone about them. May God bless their souls

Avianna assisted me very well with my move-in and the maintenance staff were so quick to work on some of the requests I had. For a medical professional and being busy this season, they were able to quickly transition me from just looking to I just want to move in ASAP. Thank you!

I was able to move in almost immediately after filling out an application. The property is in a very central location and close to almost everything this area has to offer! As a first time apartment renter, I was very skeptical but Avi in the leasing office made it very easy for me to be comfortable in my new apartment.

My experience was very pleasant, Azi stayed in contact with me and made sure I understood everything and that I was comfortable in my new home. Thank you. Remarkable.

New management is awesome to work with! If you need help with anything even payment plans Courtney Schachtner is the one to contact! She was willing to work with me on a payment plan and was always available when contacted! Living space is great, no problems, very quiet. Highly recommend Bayview Gardens!

Even though my apartment is newly renovated and I like it 100%.I would like to say the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because it’s a lot smaller than my last place (personal opinion obviously) things I can factual state is that my entire process dealing with the Bay View Gardens Leasing Consultant Avianna Aponte have been phenomenal.

I’ve been here for about a year and a half and I have to to say new management is helpful & kind. Avi helps make sure my problems are taken care of in a timely manner

I have been here long time, I just met the new Manager Christine and I think she will be good for Bayview and for us residents that have been neglected for sometime.

Temporarily stayed here with a friend and liked the space. Its conveniently near 2 shopping centers and rent is a good price. I hope to get my own place here soon.

You get what you pay for moldy sink, one laundry room is broken, inconsistent responsiveness, . My apartment is an old, water damaged roach nestif my apartment is a renovated one than they all need to be redone again cause it’s like last renovation was in the 70sI would say staff are nice if you ever do get ahold of them and there are some repairs being made under the new mgmt that were desperately needed.

So heres the deal about this apartment. You truly get what you pay for. The apartments are comfortable for the amount of people who are suppose to actually be in the apartment. Now is it the best apartments no but this is the cheapest rent with in Portsmouth lines unless you go privately owned. The place does need a remodel tho. The property managers are wonderful to me

Ive enjoyed my time here. You get what you pay for I guess I can put it.The maintenance​ was a joke here. If the problem is too complicated to handle, they just wont fix it and leave without letting you know whats up. Then complain to the office you did something you didnt do. I asked them for months to fix the cabinets in kitchen.... They were sinking because its cheap wood with waning support underneath. They never helped. They told office we obviously stood on the counter... cmon really??? Some... some of the people in the office are rude, not all of them. They cant find a single note in their computer where Ive been complaining of issues for the past 3-4 years. They make me feel like Im crazy. Ive lived here for 5 years. Rent always goes up every year, yet, its still the cheapest around so I cant really complain thanks to that.The walls are really thin. You can hear your neighbors if theyre loud. Small children nearby? Loud music? Good luck to you. Im not a complainer seriously but Ive had my fair share of issues back n forth. It just happens because its so hard to live in an environment where you cant make noise. So it goes both ways of course. You have to be careful not to be too loud. Speaking of walls, I have mold in the bathroom through celling from the apartment upstairs or something. Big black spot. Already told office for past 5 years.I could go on and on. Parking space is small and crowded. The place gets ridiculously hot in the summer. I have to use black curtains to keep out sun. No way to hang curtains either. Thats about it.

I have lived here since 2007. It wasnt that bad back then however it is a complete dump now. The turn over in the rental office is ridiculous you never know who you are dealing with. I just received 2 notices for non payment of rent. Clearly a mistake since I pay my rent online and have my receipt. However I can not contact anyone because there is no one available ever !!!!! And they certainly do not return calls. Forget about maintenance there is no maintenance, so forget about snow removal, just forget about anything that needs to be repaired. Im trying to move out but since they never prepared a 2017 lease for me I have no idea when I can move out without penalty and again no one returns calls. If you are homeless, this may be a step up, if not, do yourself a favor and keep looking!!!

The fat lady at the rental office is very rude and unprofessional. I lived there in 2014 someone in the rental office was stealing resident money orders and cashing them in. The lady at the rental office said she evicted me because black people dont like to pay rent...most racist environment I have ever been in. I would not recommend living here. I wish I could call the better business bureau ok them

This was a very horrible experience for me and this wouldve been my first apartment. I wouldnt even give a one star but had to to even do a review. The apartment was nasty. I shouldve viewed it before moving in. Some people will deal with some things just so they can call a place home. But a home should feel like home. You shouldnt feel like u renting a hotel room out. Just some advice for others VIEW THE APARTMENT BEFORE SIGNING YOUR LEASE!

My experience living at Bay view Garden apartments was not like anything i was hoping...I was searching for a fresh start with my kids...getting out of a bad situation...only to get to a much worse one....Roaches..Roaches Roaches...water does not stay hot...and when it rains your water is cold...heat on in the summer....but when its winter its cold.....sink in the kitchen clogs up when it rains most of the time and backs up into the bathroom sink....when emergency number is called for the maintenance men to come..they either dont show up...or show up with a plunger....just to do the job that i could have done myself...which is....run from sink to sink plunging until the water goes down..and say..well alright its all finsh now Miss.....( But it really dont be done...hour later..clogs back up)......Manager wants to point blame instead of fixing the issue..assuming its you pouring grease...or food parts down the drain..knowing full well its a continuous issue...nasty attitude when you ask to fix the problem....stating..If you dont like it then you can move....Lady full well knowing at the time being a single Mother on her own couldnt afford to move so had to deal with bad services...Im a human middle class poor whatever i deserve to live decent....Long story..but People Be Aware...Stay Woke and dont apply to live at Bay View Garden Apartments...especially if you have children.....

Before you move be aware that you will be taking a heavy loss. There are roaches in the building, crime (gun shots, stealing from peoples cars, attempts to break in to the first floor by ripping open the screens, etc),plumbing problems, mold, and roof damage as my ceiling is leaking right now. The first red flag 🚩 I had was when my navy federal account was broken into and they tried to pull money from my savings. The second red flag 🚩 was that the first unit I received had the most disgusting roach infestation I had ever seen with them crawling on the ceiling, the walls, and floor of every room. The final red flag 🚩 was the flip from friendly to unfriendly as the office staff dismissed my concerns and multiple phone calls of uninhabitable conditions. To this day they refuse to pick up the phone.

Today is December 12, 2016 and I have been without heat since December 8, 2016. This evening @ 5:00pm maintenance come with one heater for me to use. This would have been a good gesture on Saturday and Sunday night when it was in the 30s. To add salt to the wound, I am now without hot water for bathing and gas for cooking. This is truly an inconvenience. I have never experienced such problems in my other apartments.

Can never get an answer from the rent office plus the amount of times you have ask to get your stuff fixed is ridiculous i will never return here

Horrible experience. This was my first apartment, and it was so bad that i expected everywhere else that I lived to be like that. I was surprised to find that other apartments actually had competent maintenance that can fix your issues instead of giving you excuses and empty promises. Do not move here if you have money to live somewhere else. The money you save will not be worth the headache.

The name for one is misleading, there is no Garden nor a bay. They dont fix anything. they will charge you. The property floods horribly. They will try to get as much money they can out of you. The apartment managers are mean and rude, I also believe they are racist. They also changed management without notifying the residents

Go nowhere near this complex!-the office staff is never available -despite constant spraying, roaches are everywhere -contractors never finish.I was unable to move into my apartment (from 4 states away) because rennovations werent complete by my scheduled move in day. there was no attempt to contact me about this until the morning of. When i was allowed to put my belongings in the apartment (was told i still couldnt stay there and finding somewhere to stay wasnt their concern) is when the roaches literally came out of everywhere and the apartment was still incomplete (no kitchen cabinets, toilet was sitting in the bathtub, rolls of used laminate were laying about the living room). Once they have your money office staff is rude and intolerable to speak to. I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY FIRST MONTH RENT REFUND since October 2017

Would only be one star if the property manager wasnt so nice. the only bay is the flooding and standing water each time it rains. the playground is the only amenity and its a DEATH TRAP. the property is littered with trash. its disgusting. there have been no improvements or renovations in 11+ years, but rent continues to increase. the walls and ceilings are patchwork pieces of art, full of cracks, bubbles, and shoddy plastering. there is no counter space nor outlets you can actually use in the kitchen. the spaces behind the radiators havent been cleaned in years, absolutely gross. the company that owns them really takes advantage of people on a fixed and limited income.

Moved in on the first and it wasnt too bad. Other than the roaches... I didnt see the unit I was moving into prior to moving in only model cause my unit was still inhabited by other tenant. Day of move in was a mess I couldnt move in before a certain time because of mantinence doing work but I paid for the apt 2 months in advance and the ppl moved out 3 weeks before so me being the type of schedule orientiented person I am that irked me especially being that I asked numerous times before, started to feel annoying. So lets get back to the roaches because that was the only major issue I had moving in... Didnt see any during day time but hunny let me tell you wait till the sun go down. I read reviews after the fact of paying nd thought oh maybe their exaggerating but no by 9 I was stomping on roaches left nd right, cleaning putting down boric acid, spraying raid(didnt work) nd bombing which helped. I complained the very next morning and they scheduled exterminator to come out Thursday nd spray whole building. Didnt see much difference till after 2 spray the following week. Now 3 weeks in Im Roach free..and if you get the cheap unit like I did (tryna save money) I suggest you have a AC cause it gets hot and a heater cause I HEARd heat dont work in the winter. But I got heaters and AC so Im not worried. Pretty chill round here I stay to myself loterally, I dont do new ppl so maybe that why.

The person in charge rented this one bedroom apartmentto me with lies 655.00 and it has somethings wrong with the apartment, not even a day in here and all ready had water coming down from ups stairs bathroom and kitchen celling,bad stove gives me electric shock.refrige in bad condicion thing i put in the first shelf all of my food got spoil,they fix it but i will not use it im using my own,i want to move from here....bad bad expirince

Terrible terrible! They have it nice and clean before you move in but be prepared for the worse cockroach infestion ever. The management says bull like the pest company comes every two weeks but that seems to only make the issue worse. Its not fun waking up with dead roaches on your bed and seeing them crawl on your sleeping child. We have got rid of everything we can and living as clean as we can but the bugs are everywhere. Every room and every thing, dressers,cabnits, walls floors, pantry, in the couch, and the office simply does not care. I bet they wouldnt stand for it if it was their child covered in bugs in the middle of the night. They should warn new residents cheap rent/some utilities and major bugs included. If you have kids....as a parent please dont bring them here to live.....during the day the bugs are bad but at night.....its like those facebook photos would you spend the night here for a million dollars but instead youre paying to live with roaches.

Lived here 4 years, they are constantly changing management, rent goes up every year with nothing in return for the residents. The people working in the office are rude, inconsiderate, not compassionate, they just suck. Would not recommend. They need a complete remodel if their gonna keep going up on rent.
