Springers has been the only jeweler Ive gone to for my jewelry needs. I had some pieces I wanted rehabbed, and I had family stories around them that had been passed down about them for a few generations. Much to my surprise and mild dismay, what I thought were real pearls were not, and what I thought was a topaz was glass! I got a terrific and interesting education about how often people in the early 20th c. gave paste as gifts, with no loss of the dignity or preciousness of the items. I was thrilled and so interested. When I discovered that my mothers (and her mothers before her) topaz ring was glass, I took a leap and replaced it with a real garnet, a beautiful garnet. It was the right thing to do, and now the story of this ring, that I adore and associate with my beloved mother, who we all lost way too young, and which is inscribed on the inside band with 11/24/1877, is all the more interesting, especially since anyone who knows anything about that date is long dead. Story is everything with jewelry. Everyone should have one thing with a good story about it. Springers understands this. Plus, I was assisted by experienced experts, who are friendly and welcoming. On top of that, browsing made my mouth water. Go there!

I went in for an appraisal and met with Jennifer who was friendly professional courteous and a delight to deal with. I had asked for a rush in order to get the items back in one day and they accommodated that as well.We will without a doubt go back. Great folks! Great service! Got a ring re-sized and tried on a $25,000 Rolex just cuz. Why not? I assured them I was just curious and not serious, but they treated me professionally. They were well educated on the Rolex brand. Go somewhere else if you want to try stumping their salespeople. They have a very knowledgeable staff. Looking for jewelry? Save yourself a ton of time and just go to Springer’s. I fired a ton of questions at them and they were all answered on the spot. Make an appointment and you’re in. COVID conscious they are, too.

I called to inquire about cutting off a ring due to a swollen finger joint. Despite COVID restrictions, I had a convenient appointment within two days. I arrived to a carefully controlled environment, everyone wearing masks, and Chris had my ring off within a couple of minutes without any discomfort. We discussed how I could reuse the ring materials, but I never felt any pressure to commit to anything. I plan to return soon. This is a great, pleasant group to deal with.

I made an appointment to visit the Portland store to buy a Wildwood Oyster Co. bag for Christmas. When I arrived the bags were out and waiting for me, the entire pleasant exchange took only ten minutes. I love Springer’s estate jewelry and the friendly, pressure-free shopping experience that I always have with them.

I brought my engagement ring (purchased through another store) to Springers to be resized, after having it incorrectly resized previously. I was a bit skeptical that wed get it right, since its wintertime and I have very small fingers with ill-defined knuckles, but Zoe was incredibly helpful, checking and double-checking that the size we settled on would fit. She also gave me great advice about when to resize my wedding band and how to take good care of both into the future. I picked up the ring today, days earlier than it was promised, and it fits great and looks better than ever.

I had a appointment with Chris K. ( August, 29th) at their store in Portland, ME location it was very clean, safe and not crowded. I meet with Chris, he was very pleasant and helpful. He did answer all my questions. They didn’t have the Rolex I was looking for but he put my name on the waiting list, just need to be patient now. After COVID postponed our engagement plans - my now Fiance and I made an appointment at Springers. I had a family heirloom pin that I wanted to use for the center stone for the engagement ring. We worked with Chris, and he was so knowledgeable and helpful. He explained the whole process and the service we got was exceptional. I called this location to inquire about a Rolex watch that I know is difficult to come by given current times. While speaking with a sales rep they came to find out that while my phone number is from Maine Where I grew up for 20 years that I now live out of state. After coming by this the sales rep came off as not wanting to even discuss the piece with me anymore and basically refused to put me on a contact list for the watch or even sell it to me. When I asked if I could have a family member do so who is still a Maine resident his response was no because they know it is now going out of the state. What kind of terrible customer service do these people expect to offer when selling a $9,000 watch. I understand it may be a private business and they would be able to choose who they sell the timepiece to, but I dont see how myself or anyone would feel comfortable spending money at a place like this who thinks its ok to treat potential costumers in that way. If anyone is looking for a high end timepiece I recommend you take your money somewhere else where they are willing to treat customers better!

I was very impressed with the way Springers handled customers during this tense Covid time. Making an appointment was extremely easy via their website and timing and physical spacing was respectful. I am quite confident Spingers will not be a source of infection! The repair work that was done for me, as usual, was top notch. Springers are dedicated professionals and I wouldnt go anyplace else.

I went to Springers on the recommendation of a friend with very little understanding of the engagement ring process; Kelly Hersom greeted us warmly and walked us through our options in an extremely helpful but non pushy way. I can’t even begin to express my appreciation for Kelly’s help with designing a custom tacori ring for me. We were able to communicate effectively through phone and email during this crazy pandemic. I sent google screen shots, Pinterest ideas, and pencil sketches and she effectively translated those to tacori. The final product is perfect and I owe that to Kelly!

I put a ring on layaway for anniversary prior to the shut down because of Coronavirus. When the layaway was paid off (during shut down), Springers Jewelers sent my ring via tracked priority mail and I received it very quickly. There was a reason I needed to return the ring and the process was smooth. They sent me a return label so I could get the ring back to them so there was no postage required from me. Within a couple weeks of Springers reopening by appointment only, I met with salesperson Jennifer a few times and found another ring for anniversary that I’m very pleased with. While there, I also found an estate ring for my mom as well as another ring for my next anniversary. I put this ring on layaway as well as it’s several months before next anniversary. Jennifer helped me a lot throughout my purchases. She was fun to work with and explained various payment options clearly. Because of the virus shut down, it has taken a few months from start to finish picking out my anniversary ring and everyone I dealt with was professional and easy to work with. Thank you all very much, especially Jennifer. I’ll see Jennifer again when my next anniversary ring is ready to pick up from layaway. I’m looking forward to it.

I am surprisingly disappointed with my recent interaction with Springers. I got one of their store brand watches 4 years and 7 months ago as I was in grad school and it was the most I wanted to spend at the time. The watch had started losing time so I brought it in. They tried changing the battery first, a reasonable course of action, however it stopped working within twelve hours and lost 15 minutes. By the next morning it stopped working. I brought it back into the store and was informed that the only option was to replace the movement. The gentleman was unapologetic and appeared more interested in customers who were there to purchase new items. I expressed my disappointment as roughly $200 for a watch to last less than five years is unacceptable to me when Japanese watches are of a similar price point and last for decades. I have even had a timex last longer. Again, no apology was issued. The gentleman said the watch is working perfectly right now so I would put it on your wrist and wear it to which I said this has happened multiple times and I was in the store just yesterday for this same issue. Within an hour of leaving the store it has lost more time. I now consider the watch useless as what is the point of a watch that doesnt keep time.I went to Springers because I like supporting local business and thought they would stand behind their product. Even if the salesman offered an apology for the situation I probably would have not felt the need to write a negative review. Yes the watch was out of warranty for a year and a half, I did not expect a new watch out of the deal, just some acknowledgement that this situation shouldnt have happened. Maybe it is commonplace as he didnt seem surprised. Bottomline, I would stay away from their house brand watches.As I said, when I got this watch I was in grad school and had little money. I am a working professional now and will be sure to take my money elsewhere for both timepiece and jewelry purchases.

I suppose Springers is fine if you want overpriced mod jewelry, but I was really disappointed in their repair service ... they butchered the repair on an antique piece, took forever, communicated poorly, and the end result was a big disappointment. I wont be back.
