TPD is an incredible company to work for. They are organized in their processes and dedicated to ensuring that their employees are supported. They provide great training and continued education throughout employment. They are committed to their mission and providing the best services they can to their clients as well as their employees. The company culture is delightful and you can tell that everyone enjoys their jobs. I would honestly rate this company 6/5 stars if I could.

I worked with TPD for nearly 3 years, using their service to temporarily supplement my income on multiple occasions. It went well, even though the pay was low for the amount of labor (and interpersonal issues that would arise).I worked briefly this past year with a new client of theirs. I worked for two days at 4 hours a time with this client. After my second day I claimed about 5 shifts with them over the course of the next week. I performed my duties to satisfaction and even assisted the rest of the team with their duties and direction. The day of my next shift I learned that it was cancelled by the client, as well as the rest of the shifts I had claimed for the week. My workable hours went from 32 to 4 for the week in the blink of an eye. You could say the needs of the business...Come months later after I had found a full-time event setup position I was still employed by TPD. When the new full-time position decided to can me wrongly... I filed for unemployment. After having my shifts cancelled at TPD, I imagined it would no longer be considered an employer of mine nor desired to be employed by them.I was wrong. After my wrongful firing from the new party, I sought unemployment benefits to assist in making ends meet (paying rent, affording food, etc). TPD challenged my claim to these benefits I had paid into from EVERY job I have worked in the state of OR over the last 9 years.I am still paying back those benefits thanks to the team at TPD and my overlooking of the idea that I may be still employed by them. TPD is not employment. It is a stop-gap and should be solely treated as such. If you are to seek employment with this group I wholeheartedly recommend to discontinue employment in writing with them as soon as you find stable employment. Do no continue employment with them once you have a stable source of income. If something were to happen, they will mark you as still employed and capable of picking up shifts and will, in tandem with the legal system, ream you.I earned little report working for this company, none of the interpersonal connections I made returned anything of value, and here I am leaving a truthful review of the service. Utilize them for what you need and then cancel as soon as you no longer need them.An additional -- If you refer your friends, they will get the better paying longer-term offers and you will lose out. I asked constantly for a better paying and longer stint option. As soon as I recommended a friend, they had a more cushy, easier, and better paying opportunity provided to them that was local to their living situation.Needless to say I will never recommend again, nor work for personally, The Personnel Department in Portland, Oregon.So long and thanks for all the fish.
