* Clean, big enough, nice staff.* It would be nice if there was much better lighting, especially sun light (bigger windows). It makes you more alert and you feel stronger.* Also, it would be better if the areas where labeled by body part (like supermarket aisles) to easily find what you are looking for
Wow this gym is very nice. It was recently renovated and it shows well.Super clean and staff are very friendly and helpful.Called to inquire about membership the day before and Athena Medina did a great job helping me. She is very kind and super patience.Did everything over the phone so time in person was very minimal.I’m glad to be part of this gym 💪🏼
I keep getting random charges, i go into the gym and talk in person and the guys tell me they will wave the fees, couple days later the bank gets charged that fee.. i call back and they tell me they cant do anything about since the bank already took the money to speak with corporate. Corporate says they cant do anything about it. Its happened 3 times already, 75$ in 4 months. DO NOT JOIN EP FITNESS!!!. WASTE OF MONEY. Outdated machines, weights everywhere. No customer service.
It was Great.. friendly staff is awesome
My favorite EP fitness. They are always so nice and helpful.Zumba is here is a must with Ozi.
Hands down the best of all EP locations. The employees (as well as patrons) have great gym etiquette (putting away dumbells, weights, cleaning machines, et cetera). Definitely a great place to work out!
I’ve been with EP for 5 years, I like the remodeling, definitely better, the Gym is spacious and nice.Fairly clean, staff people are friendly.
Gym feels clean and fresh and has great class options
So apparently they remodeled but the gym is still as dirty as it was and they have a rude staff, you can get plenty of other gyms far better don’t waste your time here.
Plenty of space for everyone to have their own comfortable amount of space.Fund me to travel all over and leave reviews EVERYWHERE FOR EVERYTHING!Venmo: @Moses-RenteriaCashapp: $morent89
EP Paragon hasn’t felt the same without Nikki Herrera because the whole vibe is just off now. Honestly can’t even get a good lift in because no one has energy there, she really was the only that gave good energy in the gym Every time I saw her and is actually about lifting and getting better. Sad that they would get rid of someone who helps people with their fitness journey because those are the people you should have working at a gym. The gym needs some new management and employees cause it could be a better place for people to workout at and start their fitness journey. Not all staff is bad, but they definitely need some change.
Very clean and great staff
Nice gym, clean and spacious very helpful and courteous employees
During the pandemic last year they didnt charge me for but no more than 2-3 months but since my spouse paid up front, they didnt reimburse or lengthen his membership while they were closed. They didnt send any notices either.
The monthly membership policy does not make sense at all, but I agreed to it so paid the cancellation fee. Four days into coming to the gym I was left a very unpleasant note on my door handle, which 1. Was completely disrespectful, 2. Made me scared to know someone knew the car I was driving. I brought this with a picture to the managers’ ( Michael ) attention and he just said to email it to him which I did.2 days later I spoke to him to cancel the membership (after just 2 weeks of use) and see if he had been able to at least do something about it, waive cancellation as an apology for the incident, or at least show empathy. I understand this is not the gym’s fault but it is under their premises and the right thing to do is to AT LEAST do something about it. He did not care at all, said it was all policy; I asked about the cameras in the parking lot and he said I’d have to contact local authorities cause they don’t know who did it, all this while he knew I was moving out of the country the day after our conversation. To every single question about a delicate issue he just said: it’s policy, you can contact corporate.Very bad experience overall at the gym.
I always come to this one because of the variety compared to the Westside one. Its very well kept and there is always someone cleaning as much as possible. Love it!!!
I’ve been going to this gym for the past 6+ years, it was a fully functional gym with all the equipment you needed. Sure, the equipment was outdated, but one could still get a compete workout in. EP fitness decided to upgrade their equipment, which was a good decision, but they decided to reconfigure their layout, reducing the free weight area to a small room, and less benches/weights than before, all the while placing pin machines in the larger area, leaving a bunch of wasted space. I hope there are plans to expand the free weight area, otherwise EP fitness will start losing many customers, seeing as the free weights used to be the most packed area. The new equipment is an upgrade, the new layout is a massive downgrade.
Cancellation process is horrible. First you have to send a certified letter to let them know you want to cancel. After they receive it takes them 30 more days to cancel the membership. Within those 30 days you are going to have two billing cycles. You will be charged twice, no pro rations, can’t use the gym with in the 30 day cancellation process that you are still paying for. On top of that, customer service is poor.
Friendly staff, clean place.
The cleanest gym of them all!
Really liked this gym everyone is always nice especially Niki in the front, shes the sweetest. I do not like the new lay out though who ever came up with it didnt think it threw right, there is no mirrors for the squat machines, Are you suppose to stare at the wall? Really?? Its stuffy inside and right next to the basketball court where there loud and annoying. Its like they literally just stuffed everything in a room all together to make space when it just made it worse. Hopefully they make better changes.
I really enjoy going to the gym, but I really feel the cleanliness there could be much better. The floor seems to always be dirty with balls of dust all around the machines. Just needs to be swept and mopped daily and it is very apparent that does not happen. Please clean... We breath that stuff daily. Thank you for your time.
They were closed and with limited access for a couple of months due to remodeling and Covid-19, and the only way to replace the wasted time was by renewing the contract.
They dont have shower
Im totally loving the remodel. New equipment, new look. Good job Scott.
ATTENTION EVERYONE!!!! READ THIS!!!Ive been in quarantine and out of work for about a month now. So i decided to start going back to the gym. I was pretty hesitant but i dont like working out at home because of my kids. The only place i have been at for this entire month has been the gym. Well long story short, i tested Positive for Covid yesterday. To make things even worse, my daughter woke up with a fever. Im going to get her tested today, but please people. Stay away from this place. Even with the renovation, its still dirty and they still dont clean. If you recently experienced getting sick after going to this gym, please email me. Im thinking about pressing charges because after reading most of the reviews, we can all agree that something needs to be done, if that means getting them out of business, so be it.
I loved it and I still doing some work out Ill be there in 17 years in the EP Fitness
Waited over AN HOUR past their “business hours” for the gym to open this Saturday... talking to regulars it seems to be a frequent occurrence!Super unprofessional.I can live with messy gyms and outdated equipment as they have. But not adhering to your business hours as a gym is UNACCEPTABLE.Would def cancel if this was my main EP.Thanks for messing up my morning workout.
The nursery ladies are AMAZING! This is by far the best and cleanest location. ♡
I have been a member since 2003 and have nothing bad to say about the gym. It has a good range of dumbbells, for the novice to experienced weight trainer. The exercise and cardio equipment is regularly updated with top-level brands. There are setups and weight for bodybuilders, but plenty for novices as well. For the price of an annual membership (probably $20 - $25/month), it is fantastic. It can get crowded during peak hours, but you can find times when there is plenty of room to move around and no waits for machines.I decided to write this after reading some of the negative comments regarding the operations. While the gym has historically made calls in membership renewal drives (every gym I have ever joined does that), I have never found them pushy. Usually, a discount offer is thrown out as you enter the gym in a 2 minute conversation. The gym is kept relatively clean for such a large area (the commentary about rags on the floor is true - because all people dont bring towels, the gym leaves spray bottles with rags to wipe down machines after use as a courtesy in order to address hygiene concerns). The biggest indicator of a well-operated gym is customer loyalty. I see plenty of faces at this location who have been there as long or longer than I have been there. There are plenty of options in the area. This gym has kept its numbers, despite cheaper options like Planet Fitness, so it must be doing something right..
Upgraded machines and facility. Awesome place.
They need to do something with the smells bad need to do something about that for everything else is great specially customers personal are the best.
They can’t give prices if you call... They change the price according to every customer, that is not fair. I enrolled in Her Gym and they have really good service and amazing trainers.
Great place to go..loose weight..and may meet a new friend or 2!
Cheap membership and personal trainers available to support your goals. Staff can be a little more active on getting more cleaning or wipes always available but worth the price. Great amount of equipment for all types if training.
Been going for years, theyre letting the basketball court deteriorate. First they cut it in half for a cross fit training room, and now the rims are broken, one almost falling off. So easy to fix, thinking of not renewing and going to the city rec centers.
Great renovations, amazing staff, clean facilities.
I have been a member since about the year 2000 and since, I have seen many updates of equipment and flexible hours to accommodate most schedules. I go usually once or twice a week and have never had problems with equipment or management. Keep up the good work!
I highly recommend cross training class, good instructors... Great daycare...
Good solid gym to workout at. Nice variety of equipment and clean. The price is reasonable and I just started taking cross training, love it!
Ep fitness robbed me. I paid for the whole year in advance. My job required me to leave the state for a few months so I went into the location and requested to freeze my account. Few months later I get a text messages asking if I want to renew my membership when my membership should’ve been frozen. Trying to contact their corporate office is ridiculous. The manager Laura at the transmountain location did not return my call. To be completely honest with you every person I spoke to seemed like they had no idea what was going on. It sucks but I guess I’ll have to just take the L!
Great workout place for free weights and other stations!
Some of the staff is rude, when signing up for a membership the staff members will not tell you all the different types of memberships they offer, they will only tell you of the ones that will put the most commission in their pockets. i went a couple days after receiving my membership and i decided to take a friend with to to get one as well, the staff member who worked on Sunday told him of all the options that they had. i had asked her why when i got my membership i was not told of the many different options, when she looked up my account she said the staff member that had helped me works on commission and she does not
Updated............I guess they finally listen to their clients and have been updating their gym. They have added more squat racks which is a plus but they have reduced the free weight area to a smaller section of the converted basketball court..which used to be the CrossFit area...But its all new equipment which is good....and have added a lot of pin machines. The gym is still under construction waiting to see how the rest of the set up will look like.........................................................................................Probably the worst gym I have been to....terrible management. On duty mangers always seem to be on brake or not present at all. Equipment is abused and not taken care of, everything is disorganized. Fees up the a@$...for everything, and All the equip designated for CrossFit you cant use unless there is a staff there for it there for their so called open gym.” You pay so much and you cant use the equipment....
Excellent!!
I hate this place. It would be cool if I wasnt surrounded by douche bags! I would rather train a fight-dance ... I mean really!! You can tell these people have enough money and can give a good big SHxx about the regular person. But I guess they are open all the time and your car doesnt get broken into EVERY day so F- it! Is this what humanity is reduced to? Great. Shoot me.
This site is newer than the one at resler, less crowded. And cleaner. Love all the classes there
I love this gym. Its cheap and it has plenty of weights and cardio equipment. Yes, it does get busy but people are friendly and its no trouble to work in. Its super cheap and the staff are helpful.
I have had a very negative relationship with this gym. When I first moved to El Paso I signed up for a year membership because it was across the street from my apartment. The gym smelled like it was not regularly cleaned. When the year membership was over I told them I was not interested in renewing my contract. Regardless, they tried to bill me and I successfully fought it on my credit card side when I showed them the emails. I receive a text message from them a few times a year despite asking not to be contacted and not living in El Paso for over a year.Steer clear of this gym.
Paragon is very friendly and helpful. I have found them kind to the older clients. Thanks!
THIS IS THE BEST GYM! This is my gym! The best managment! The best staff! The best daycare staff!:) SUPER CLEAN ALWAYS AND ORGANIZED. I have no idea why anyone would rate low on this place! GO back to PLANET n pay your $10 and eat ur freee pizza lol
Worst company to get a membership with!!!! Dont ever get one, they steal from you, charge you twice as a month and even after you cancel a year later they still charged you!! Worst mistake of my life believe me it isnt worth it. Youre better off going with any other gym. I tried calling to see why i got charged the gym gave me a number to call corporate I literally keep getting hung up on. I am disputing with my bank and of it continues I will more than likely have to involve a lawyer how ridiculous how you cant get ahold of anyone to explain why you have charges a year later. Worst company ever. Would give 0 stars if I could
Great daycare!! Very clean and staff is super friendly.
I had a horrible experience I slipped and broke my neck
The have the equipment to get a good workout while traveling but not fancy by any means. Wasnt super crowded at 730am or 4pm.
Much better gym than the Resler location. The staff is friendly and the gym is overall clean. Their sign says they’re open 24 hours but that is only on Mon, Tue and Wed of each week.
Both GYMs of the west side sticks. They need to poen more door or something to have the air move. It smell so bad like public bathroom from a Bar. They need to do something about the smell. Equipment is the best!! The customer services and trainers the best at Paragon.
If you live on the Westside or Downtown, this is one of the better places to work out. Lets break it down:Pros: This gym has almost everything you could reasonably need to workout. There are a few power racks/ squat racks, several bench press benches, a few cable machines, a couple sets of dumbbells up to at least 120 lbs, a set of fixed barbells, a range of isolation exercise machines, a huge number of cardio machines, a basketball court, and rooms for different types of classes. They stay open 24 hours during the week and close reasonably late on the weekend. The price is reasonable compared to other gyms of its caliber.Cons: The equipment at this gym doesnt match what people actually use. There are WAY too many cardio machines and not nearly enough squat racks/ power racks. Even late at night, its common to have to wait for a squat rack, meanwhile there are literally dozens of empty cardio machines. Also, the organization is poor. Dumbbells are never organized correctly, which means that finding two of the same weight can often take a few minutes. I get that this is partly the members fault, but Ive seen them messed up even on Saturday or Sunday mornings, after the gym has been closed overnight and the staff has presumably had a chance to organize things.Over time Ive noticed that more of the clients have a bodybuilding/ weightlifting focus. At least when I go, most of the people there are men, and most seem to be reasonably serious lifters. So if thats what youre into, Id definitely recommend this place. You can find a better gym, but not one with better hours and for a better price.
I go to work out. Do my 1-2 hrs and i leave. The weights are in the wrong place at many of the locations because the members are too lazy to put things back properly or not even placed back on the rack when they are done using them. It might be annoying but such is life. Its filled with slobs. Get over it people, your there to better your body. You should be happy, some gyms dont have a/c.
Staff very helpful and want you to have a great experience and willing to help you achieve your goals
Everytime I went after work it was always crowded, the equipment needs to be updated, also when I left on military orders and went to close my wife and Is account they still charged her one month after not being there. Also a bit over price, just saying.
Friendly staff, equipment always available and super flexible hours. Love it.
The gym is relatively kept up. The machines and equipment are clean and kept up though there are occasions when a piece of equipment may be out of service, but I have noticed that it is for a short time.My experiences with the staff have been pleasant, consistently a friendly greeting. But I have been going for a few years now.Parking has not been a problem. This is not a 24/7 gym but the hours they do maintain work for me and are consistent with their website. There are things I recommend that they improve upon.*The dumbbell and pre-loaded E-Z bar racks require organization and house keeping. Granted as member we are responsible to place back our equipment in the correct location. We cannot be responsible for other members the racks are not well labeled and it just takes a few bad place of dumbbells to create a domino effect, which ends up slowing ones workout.*The cardio room is large with approx 20 to 25 treadmills, but within my experience at random I would maybe have to try 1 or 2 treadmills before one that was working.
This is the worst gym in El Paso! Their customer service is horrific. Rude and very unprofessional. Even corporate is awful! Their gym is rather gross but the lack of customer service is most off putting.
The place is so duty carpets, floors, girls restroom so nasty they only replaced the side of lockers floor the shower froor needs remodeling even the mirror on sink need to be replaced it’s sad because back in years it used to be a very clean nice place to workout, not no more !
Great gym. They just updated some of their equipment.
Not pleased at all, just a basic gym, floor is really dirty, dumbbells are not in the right order and broken
This past weekend I got a txt message saying they were closing the gym as of today. A txt message very Unprofessional in my opinion. My husband has orders because we are PCSing and under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) Im allowed to cancel my gym membership but the gym will not allow me to because my name is not on the orders, but it says dependents and I showed him my ID and they still will not allow me.
This gym is filthy, the customer service is terrible. They will draft your account for unauthorized charges and they do not cancel your membership when you request and they continue drafting your bank account monthly. They have childcare for an extra fee, however the ladies in there dont pay that much attention to the children since it is only two for an unaccounted amount of children. Will definitely NOT recommend. Beware, avoid issues and headaches.
Friendly staff and great prices, very clean and fresh
Had everything you need for a full workout. Staff is very friendly. Most annoying thing about this place are the people who take up 5 machines at a time and who don’t rerack their weights. I wish the staff would enforce their club rules.Update: canceled membership before thanksgiving bc I moved, 4 charges show up on my account within a week right after Christmas (two from EP fitness and two from Roca). I called to see what the deal was and they say I never canceled my account. I called my bank, they did an “investigation”, and found EP fitness to be fraudulent and got my money back.Thieves.
Great gym one of the only ones in town that has a stair climber
Been in El Paso a couple months, best gym I have been to in years.
Its cheap, its big, and theres plenty of equipment. It may not be the cleanest, or the most organized, but for the price, you cant beat it.
Where do I start. I have been to just about every commercial gym, along with some private gyms all over the United States. Im a certified personal trainer and know a thing or two about establishing a successful gym. EP Fitnesss Paragon location is a complete joke. I imagine theyll be shut down by for health violations soon, this place is disgusting.1) Its filthy. They have community towels randomly spread across the gym floor that are soaked in filth because they havent been washed in weeks. No disposable towels just cloth rags.2) The ceilings are moldy because there isnt any fresh air flow.3) The gym keeps the lights off, and I find this particularly dangerous in the middle of a workout when they decide to cut the lights off without reason.4) 24 hours? Sure that might be advertised but youll soon find that they close as early as 3pm on somedays and even earlier if there arent enough members working out5) Zero parking6) Where are the dumbells? They are 80% broken (not exaggerating) with them scattered across the gym floor. There arent any 30-60lb dumbells.7) Where do they find these trainers? Shouldnt you workout if youre a trainer, theyre fat and clueless I feel so bad for their clients that just dont know any better.I hope if youre reading this you take the time to either go to Golds Gym or Backstreet Gym down the road. Ladies I pray you go to another gym, you will feel extremely out of place at this gym I advise some of the other options down the street.
This gym has everything to offer, nothing more to say. Only negative thing would be how crowded it gets from 6 PM to 8 PM
Weights everywhere but overall good atmosphere. Plenty of machines.
Agree with most of the negative reviews...unfortunately we dont have many other viable options in El Paso for good gyms. I have heard numerous horror stories about cancellation policies.
Nice gym to workout
I whent there and a mexican said buenoz deeyas. So racist!!!
The gains are real. Awesome people & even the people who are douche bags are pretty cool.
IF ITS NOT A 24 HOUR GYM THEN TAKE THE 24 HOUR SIGN DOWN. The atmosphere in this gym is nasty overall. Its dark, smelly, and looks like it has not been swept in a century. Add on top of that the horrible music that they have on full blast and you might think youre in some weird exercise dungeon. The free weights are always misplaced so you will have trouble finding matching dumbells. For instance, there are 20 lb dumbells right next to the 100 lb dumbells etc. Cardio machines are always dripping in sweat as well. I especially like when the fat ass owner of the gym is walking around, he likes to tell everyone how he owns the place while he yells at them for dropping weights. I swear he has told me that he is the owner on 3 separate occasions now. The staff is usually friendly, that is the only real good thing about this place. If it werent for them then i would much rather do prison workouts in my room than go to this place.
Great gym. Not many people in the night.
Equipment sucks, always packed, leaks of water on the ceiling.
Once you sign you cant cancel, always smells horrible. They only care about money
Busy location but best one on Westside
I want to preface this review with the following, I have been a daily member for several years, and will remain a member. The bad:Dirty, very dirty. The equipment, despite a visible cleaning staff, feels and SMELLs rancid. People do not use the wipes. The Dumbbells are in desperate need of an update. Most are dirty, not enough of certain weights, and some are missing the label. All are misplaced on the rack. The cardio room is okay. Some machines dont work however. The music is loud and unpleasant. No handsanitizer. The good:The staff is nice enough. The gym environment is unintimidating
I dont recomend paying in advance I they do not refund in event of misfortune. otherwise great place
Equipments are outdated, gym is just old and dirty looking!
Friendly staff, great service, and clean facility.. favorite of all EP Fitness locations!
All the negative reviews are absolutely true, especially for the Montwood location - Terrible customer service, no maintenance, poorly working machines, the rules they have posted mean nothing - its pretty much a free for all looking for equipment on the floor. You cant even tell how much weight your lifting because the numbers on everything are gone! The employees walk around like their CEOs for a lawfirm or something and the cancellation procedure is a joke making you send a certified letter & then waiting 30 days while in the meantime they still draft from your account. Way to rip people off one last time EPF!! You sure dont wait 30 days for your enrollment fee do you?!?! Monopolization at its best!
They are a bunch of shady characters. even to cancel its a pain in the butt. AFTER you cancel they still charge you another month and you cant use there gyms for that month. So dont even bother calling cause they are very rude and if they dont like your compalint they just hang up on you.
Incredibly annoying when you have a huge open 24 hours sign above the entrance and its in fact not 24 hours. None of the EP and Roca gyms or any other gym in El Paso for that matter are actually open 24 hours! Pretty ridiculous!
I love their crossfit.
Horrible customer service and absolute pain trying to cancel your membership. Was told it would cost more to cancel the membership than to pay the rest of the term (4 months). Then went I went in again the next day and was told something completely different. The guy I was speaking with seemed high and couldnt even pay attention to what I was saying to him at all.
It is dirty and if rains the pails of dirty water are left for weeks breeding mosquitos. Bad customer service.
EP Fitness is a complete SCAM. I sent a certified letter requesting cancellation after having their pushy employees try to keep me from cancelling. A year later I got a call from them claiming I owe $130 and threatening to ruin my credit. Avoid these people like the plague.
I was disappointed that neither gym was open and the website said it would be to gyms open. I waisted my gas and time. SMH!!!!
