I just had my second appointment with Natalie, a barber student. Her services match that of a professional. She is self-confident, listens well, gives her input and doesnt do anything not mutually agreed upon, is an excellent communicator, is gentle and calm, shows passion for what she does, does a fantastic haircut, sideburns trim, eyebrow trim, is very efficient and unrushed, her appointment just flows along until she shows you the end product and all I can say is wow!, I am happy!

Christian did an amazing job on a fade / comb-over. It is a school, so expect the haircut to take a while, but it is well worth the time. Conversation, check-in, and the instructor were all great as well! Will definitely recommend to others and will be returning myself. Thanks all!

I feel I truly am one who can speak and rate the Institute on the fine and great men and women who have come through the program by the work they all have done, they call me one of the original customers of the school and that is a banner I wear with pride, the results of the students who have graduated tell a story of success students that have

This is the best barber school hands down. I personally commute an hour to and from school everyday and I have zero regret. Not only do they groom confident, and quality barbers. The Strictly business aspect teaches you how to take your barber career to the next level. I have my AA, and I have learned more in the past 5 months than I ever did from college. Not to mention it’s a family owned business! The people are great, the environment is great, and the success rate is great. If you’re serious about becoming a barber. This is the school for you!

If you want to be a Barber, there is no better school to help you do it than this one. Every barber I talk to all say the same thing when I tell about my experience here “If only this school was around when I started”. They help you realize the full potential of the trade and focus on what really matters. They are setting the Bar for Barbers, and it is high - I’m so happy to be apart of it, thank you CBI!

What Jamaal Lane is doing here is exactly what the Barbering industry has needed for a long time, a actual barber school. As a Barber myself, when I went to Barber School it was always madness and chaotic, not here. Its ran like a real shop showing the people there learning how it really is in the real world of Barbering. As I was getting a awesome cut, beard trim, and beard treatment from Ethan Gero I observed a lot of other talented Barbers giving great services, I didnt feel like I was at a school as most of these folks were giving cuts like they had already been in the industry, Ifelt like I was at a legit shop.As a Barber I had heard Jamaals name for years around Portland and how great of a Barber he is. For him to open up a Barber School that focuses on strictly Barbering is a godsend. Not only is it strictly Barbering, but he also runs a very diverse program when focusing on all hair types from every different ethnic background. That right there is exactly what Portland needed. With all that being said, if I were you Id go find a Barber there while theyre fresh and follow them to whatever shop they end up at. And if youre looking into going into the Barber Industry Id choose this place. Thanks again for a great experience Ethan and Jamaal.

Im a recent graduate of Champions Barbering Institute (CBI) and a newly licensed barber. I came into this program barely knowing how to hold clippers to being able to give any client that sits in my chair the haircut they desire. CBI trains it students on all hair lengths and textures in order to be well-rounded professionals.I chose CBI because of their passion for the barbering industry and for their small class sizes. I appreciate the one-on-one time with the instructors, and the schools commitment to teaching to a variety of learning styles.Throughout this year-long program, Ive compared CBI to art school. Once students learn the fundamentals, we go out to the barbershop floor to work on individual projects (clients). We can ask each other questions and give each other feedback, helping us all to hone this craft.CBI teaches its students not only how to cut hair, but also the sciences related to hair, personal finance, and how to start up and operate a business. I learned a ton about hair (more than enough to pass the state board exams), but I also learned a lot about myself.I will forever be grateful for what this program offers, and I recommend anyone interested in becoming a licensed professional barber to schedule a tour to see what the school is all about. Can I get a Be Great!?

I tried multiple times to get ahold of this school and they never answered and mailbox was full . I tried for about a month before I drove up to the school from Eugene . When I got there I asked about classes and I was told that the lady that does that was going to lunch then heading home . So I asked to leave my number down and they wrote it down on a peace of paper and it’s been two weeks and I havnt heard anything . I told her it was kind of important to me and they assured me they would contact me . I tried to call but no answers . Totally unhelpful and rude and disrespectful to my time . I hope this helps someone’s time not get waisted. I had special circumstances transferring licenses from out of state and did not need a full year of school. And needed to speak with an administrator to ask if they could help .......This school is a small school and it is vary hard for them to get to you so be prepared .
