Mackins repaired some front-end impact damage on my truck via an insurance claim. Quality of repair/replace of parts was excellent and paint match was spot on.Explanation of amount owed with claim was a bit goofy but that could have been due to how my claim was handled in general. It would have been helpful if there was a brief visual inspection under the hood prior to creating an estimate so more parts could have been ordered in advance. Actual was $2k+ above estimate. They have a communication system that sends updates twice a week that I found helpful until the completion date got moved a couple times. I had to call in twice to see if Id have my truck back the next day so I could rearrange other activities dependent on having my vehicle. Some of the extra interaction/confusion could have been eliminated with more automated communication or an initial under-the-hood visual inspection, but not overly cumbersome holistically. Id rate 4.5 because these hiccups are easily addressed with some process improvements.They seem to have a good relationship with insurance companies and are very knowledgeable about what rights to services/payouts car owners have in OR state. Overall, impressive service. I would recommend Mackins to others and return myself.

I went to mackins a few years back for a repair that I expected to replace my entire bumper. They were so kind and pushed out the big dent and didn’t even charge me. I definitely would have been charged way more than needed if I went somewhere else. I also went for other repairs and was very happy with the results

Set up an appointment 6 weeks ago to drop off my car only to find out they do not have a record of it (Now they are booked out for over a month). I understand that mistakes happen. What i am NOT ok with is that the estimator Jeff that I was working with would not return emails and multiple messages left with the front desk. When I finally got a hold of him his attitude was extremely poor.Update: 3 weeks later and I just received a text that they dont do this type of repair at all (sunroof). This is something they had agreed to fix after I took my car in for an estimate. Paper work and estimate had already been processed through my car insurance.How unprofessional.Now I am out 2 months of my time.

Great work! They took care of everything with the insurance claim, and even gave the side of my car a new clear coat so the new door would match the rest of the vehicle.

My 2016 VW had to have a fender replaced and the front bumper fixed. I’m a very picky person and notice minor details, naturally I was worried about the quality. Krissy ensured me that they are going to do a quality repair and pay attention to details. When I picked up the car, I was happy with the work they’ve done. Washing the car inside and out is a bonus. I would recommend.

Aaron did an outstanding job working with my insurance and also keeping me updated throughout the process of the repairs. My car looks great! The paint match is spot on, panel gaps look perfect, they detailed the interior (which I did not expect) and even picked me up and gave me a ride to the shop the day my car was done. If anything happens to this car or any of my future vehicles I’m coming back to Mackin.

They got me in the same day and fixed a small problem with my window for free. It was quick for them, but I had spent hours trying to fix it myself with no success. They were friendly and efficient, and I would absolutely go back for bigger jobs in the future.

I had gotten in a fender bender that bashed the front fender up, and by the time we got our car back it was as good as new. I had body and electrical work done due to a collision.They did an excellent repair that included electronically involved parts. Overall repairs required about 50 parts. Given that, it took longer then expected by both of us, but I understand given ordering parts during COVID etc. . They were professional and my car came back detailed and looking like new. Insurance claim gone wrong! They said they could fix it, they gave an estimate, and after they could not fix the way I wanted them to fix it, Mackins refused to work on it. Shad, a manager, sent me a text message to break up with me (classy) and told me to get my wrecked car off of their property. It was a badly damaged vehicle that they estimated could be fixed for ~7k. After a second opinion at a nearby shop, an estimate of TWICE THAT AMOUNT came back and the insurance company declared a total loss immediately. So, Mackins, how did you expect to fix my vehicle the right way for half of what another shop estimated. Hmmmm? I know how badly damaged the car was because I was there.... slim shady. I think I am forced to rate one star to make this review a reality, but I’d rather make it 0 stars. If someone from Mackins cares enough to reach out, I welcome your attempt at an explanation.

Mackin did a great job when I brought my Outback in because a drunk person wandering down the street randomly dropped kicked my side mirror and broke it. (Oh the joys of parking in downtown Portland...)Their estimate was quick and their team was super friendly. They got my mirror replaced within a day and even washed and detailed the whole thing before I picked it up. Alena was especially helpful, and they took special care to follow COVID guidelines. I would absolutely recommend this shop for your repairs!

We are very pleased with the result of our repaired car. Our repaired car looks brand new and they even did a full detail in and out of our car. Their communication was consistent and simple. The friendliness of the staff made our experience even better. They took precautions if COVID19 wiping down my car keys at pick up and wearing masks. Great shop! My Highlander looks better than new.On Monday I had asked to have my car back before the weekend and they did it even though it was more than a one week job! When I went to pick up the car, they found that a small transparent protection sheet had been left off. (I would have never noticed.) The person responsible for its application had gone home but rather than make me wait another day, a manager went to the shop and fixed it.

This was my second time using Mackins for some light body work on my 2018 Mazda CX 5. The quality of work is top notch and their service and communication is professional and timely. Would highly recommend!

Third time over the years my car has gone to these folks to deal with the results of a fender-bender. Every time has been really great. The car looks beautiful! Mackins did an excellent job with the repair and cleaned it so well inside and out that it looks like I had taken it to in for an expensive cleaning and detailing job. The staff was really attentive and nice.We chose Mackins because we liked the work they had done years ago on our minivan. This time, the work took longer than initially thought, due to the fact that they were working with our insurance company, and Mackins wasnt on our insurance companys list. Again they did a great job.My one minor complaint is this: I signed up for the text messaging service to learn about the progress. The first week there were lots of text messages. When the completion date was pushed out, again due to insurance and the fact that there was more damage than initially thought, we got a text message stating a new completion date, 1 1/2 weeks out, but no more progress updates. A bit more reassurance about the new date would have been nice.

I’ve been taking my cars here for many years. Every time the repairs were done perfectly and within the time frame promised. In addition, they worked well with coordinating the insurance and rental. I also appreciate the people who treat you exceptionally well. In a frustrating time, they make things bearable.

I do not recommend that you use Mackins for insurance claims related to a State Farm Insurance claim because my experience with their estimator left me with the strong impression that they would rather save State Farm money in order that they continue to be a State Farm preferred provider instead of providing me a respectful and thorough evaluation of my cars damage.

My car was in an accident and Mackins was the only body shop that took the time to get it repaired correctly, showing that they were working for ME, not the insurance company.My car was repaired in the same amount of time that they promised. The amount was just slightly more than they thought it would be because they couldnt tell from the outside they were going to need some brackets on the inside. But it was my insurance that paid for it anyway so I really didnt mind.It was done when they said it would be, and when I couldnt get there to pick it up before closing time, they worked with me in figuring out a way for me to get it after hours so I didnt have to be without my car over the weekend.The only thing that they didnt do was get the bumper on correctly so that I ended up having to go back and get my blinker fixed the next day but they were happy to do it got me on the road in 5 minutes.Thank you!!

Excellent repair, communication & service. The final amount was $200 more than estimate because of some unexpected required painting. Because they had failed to notify me beforehand of the added $$, they discounted my final price by $100. I definitely recommend.

Great service. Very nice people. Got an estimate and fix done quickly and they even detailed my car! Looks new again. Only complaint is that their automatic texting system is confusing. You can’t text back and the messages aren’t always clear. I’d definitely use them again in the unfortunate situation that my car needs body work.

They provided quick updates by text while I was out of town, assigned me Alex as a single contact who was always available by phone for more in-depth communication, and actually finished my car early. The night I got back into town Alex personally waited nearly 1.5 hours after closing time so I could get my car back as soon as I landed, and when I got in it looked and smelled like a new car. I can’t say enough about the service and care I received here—if you’re unfortunate enough to need body work on your car, Mackins is definitely the place to go!

Had a lot of body work done here, and usually get good quality work here. This last time, they missed tightening some bolts, and did not push the headliner back into place. Paint and bodywork was done well.

I was rearended and took my 2010 Volvo wagon to Mackin for the repair work. They provided a rental car onsite for $10/day which was so helpful to not have to go somewhere else to pick up the car. Plus, I didnt have car rental coverage so I really appreciated the deal they could provide.I received text messages with updates of estimate completion, when the car would be ready and when it was ready. I worked with Crissy through the process and she was very professional and quick to respond to my questions. Overall, the best experience I could have after being hit by an uninsured motorist.

My experience was FANTASTIC!!!The window replacement company came and put in a new window after my car had been broken into. The mobile unit came and replaced the window and I had assumed that it was done correctly. However, after he left, I had to go out and when I tried to open the door, I couldn’t open it at all. Somehow I turned the key in the car lock so many times that the window opened up and I could unlock the passenger door and crawl over from that seat over the stick shift to the driver’s seat. I then called my insurance company and told them what had happened and they told me to call Mackins Hollywood Auto Body and make an appointment . It was 5/9/2019 and got an appointment for the next day 5/10/2019 which was great!! So I went to my appointment today and somehow they were able to get into the door panel with the door closed and plug in the the wire so the door would open and then check everything else to make sure all was plugged in and working and all within a half hour!!! I no longer need to jump from passenger seat to driver’s seat!! YEAH!! They are number ONE in my book!! I highly recommend them!! Suzanne.

GM has abandoned the Volt. We never got the wiring harness for my 2017 Volt so I had to wait 2 months for the repair of my car. Fortunately Mackins was able to get a door from a wrecking yard or I would still be waiting for my car. Thank you for the great work you did Mackins. Paul
