*new owners are SA* Ive been going here for a few months now, a couple of times a week. Pay is fair and scales seem accurate.Yes it can be a bit overwhelming to a newcomer but go with the flow and youll have an enjoyable experience. Employees are obviously earning their money so being polite and helpful is highly recommended.Bring boots and gloves as the yard can be a treacherous place. Expect mud when rainy and dust when dry. Drive where others drive to avoid debris from damaging your rubber.I live in Hollywood so practically equidistant to Opa Locka yard. If i can help it, I will never *ever* go down to a Miami scrap yard again.Thanks to the hard workers making it happen!

This is a well organized business that pays top dollar on scrap metal & accessories.

This place is a rip off. They play with the scale weight. Dont go in with big loads they will truly rip you off. They deduct weight from the scale. The workers are rude as hell. Never again will I ever visit. They try to offer you higher prices because they already know they are deducting your weight from the scale so it evens out to the same as the other yards. Would not refer them to anybody

Great experience! I brought over a bunch of old hurricane shutters and some copper pipes that were just sitting in my garage. I’m so glad I was able to recycle them, plus get paid doing so. I called around to other scrap yards in my area, and Capital Scrap Metal offered me the best price. The staff throughout the yard were all very friendly, helpful, and definitely knowledgeable! Highly recommended!

They take all types of scrap metal from aluminum, brass, copper, steel and anything in between.. just be prepared for the controlled chaos when you pull into the yard.. employees very helpful and polite

I go 4 times a year with a truckload of clean aluminum.... everyone is friendly and helpful. I tip everyone always and they get me in and out and paid quickly!!

Prices are good. The parking and traffic there is horrible. The black guy at the scale is a real scum bag. Always has an attitude. And everytime I go I get a nail or some kind of debree in my tire. Be careful driving thru there.

Im a homeowner are rarely go to a scrap yard. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I made $66 doing the right thing and recycling copper and lead from a bathroom renovation.

Selling of scrapmetal prices are competitive and fair owners. Are nice guys. The main problem is the yard itself when its dry the yard is a dust bowl always getting flat tires when going through yard. When it rains yard becomes flooded in spots area that was a dust bowl become a knee high mud hole. I have been a customer for more than 10 years. Would come often if yard was better

I had an AMAZING experience at Capital Scrap Metal in Pompano. I brought in some copper pipes I had laying around after we had our kitchen and bathrooms remodeled, and they offered me the best price (I called several other places) PLUS Capital Scrap let me know they could take the aluminum and other metal I had sitting in the dumpster. Who knew I had money just sitting in the dumpster? The entire staff was friendly and knowledge and I will definitely be telling my friends ALL about Capital Scrap Metal! Dont throw it away when you can recycle AND make money!!

Capital Scrap Metal in Pompano Beach is a great place to bring my scrap to make a few extra bucks! Weighmasters Terry, Oscar, Martin have welcoming personalities. They are efficient and knowledgeable. Marcos always helps with the best place to park so I can unload without getting a flat tire. Aidee and Quiandra cash me out quickly and accurately. They are a pleasure to talk with. Making my money is important, but I recommend going to Capital in Pompano Beach because of the people working there.

Most scrap metal dealers are a shady bunch and this place is no exception. Its TRUE they offer higher prices but they will do all they can NOT to pay higher prices. I was there on Sat and experienced this first hand. Go there if you have 110% clean grade material and watch them like a hawk and you may get a fair price anything else and you will get the same price that you can get at any scrap dealer. Dont take them at their word. Proof is in the cash payout.

Capital Scraps Metal made selling my metals easy. They were honest and kind with their prices. The staff even took the time to explain to me about the price points and which metals will sell for more or less. Very knowledgeable. I would give no stars if possible. I called this place two days before I brought in my trailer full of aluminum. I asked the gentleman on the phone how much they were paying for aluminum. He asked me what type of aluminum and I informed him it was from windows removed from houses. He informed me that they were paying .70¢ per pound. I asked them if they had drive on scales and he informed me that they did.I then arrived at the place with my trailer full of aluminum. The owner came up to my truck and asked what I had in the trailer. I informed him that I had aluminum from windows. He stated the payout was .50¢ per pound. I argued with him for a minute and then gave up. I then drove through the packed yard and met a gentleman in the back where all of the aluminum was. He was a very nice person. After I dumped the aluminum I pulled on to the exit scale and the gentleman gave me my weight ticket. I then pulled to the front where the cashier is located. When I approached the line for the cashier I looked down at my ticket and noticed that they shorted me 40 lbs. because there was iron mixed in. I immediately went to the office and confronted the owner. He stated to me that the gentleman that helped me unload observed iron support bars in the windows and that he estimated the weight of the iron to be 40 lbs. Every step of the way this business proved itself to be nothing but a rip off. I will never do business with them again!In response to the owners notation:I called your business and informed the person on the phone that I had aluminum from windows that I was bringing in. I never informed the person on the phone that I had clean or dirty aluminum. He informed me that it was .70¢ per pound. However, I still agreed to sell it to you at .50¢ per pound because it was the same price everyone was buying it for.I am having a hard time understanding why the gentleman in the back that helped me unload did not inform me of the iron mixed in with my windows. I am also not sure how he could have known about the supposed iron in the windows when he did not test it. Also, how can you just, as you put it, erroneously assign a weight value to the supposed iron by looking at it.I would also advise you that next time you respond in a public forum to a review that was left about your business you do it without emotion and make sure that you state all of the facts.

Capital Scrap Metal is the ideal place to bring your car, truck, or van. I went two three other scrap yards and they dont accept whole cars. Capital Scrap Metal is a large Institution and they capitalize on anything you bring.

The service was awesome. But, I was very concerned because I have a brand new car and I observed at the yard it’s self is very very littered. Kind of worried about getting something in my tires. Other than that it’s awesome.

If you have a truck and you are not afraid to drive it inside of the Junkyard full of mud mixed with sharp metal, screws etc.. go for it, You get might have enough money to fix your tire in you get a nail in it. Getting to the middle of the junkyard you got unload it yourself. Also they milk every costumers out of quarters because they only work with bills. Example: if your total is $10.75 they will give you $10 and keep $0.75 because they cant be out of 25 out of a dollar but you can be out of 3x the amount. They made easy to them to take your money ;-)

Carried copper cable there to recycle. Once we had it on the pallet and our weight scale was 500 lbs. Weight master gave me the ticket for $0.55 a pound for copper. I told them to put it back on truck since we regulary get 1.40 to 1.50 a pound. I guess a manager came out and corrected the offer to $1.25 a pound. Still ripped us off for .25 a pound or $125.00. I suggest you know what you have before you go to this place. Or maybe find another place to sell your scrap. DONT GET LOW BALLED!!

I thought CSM was great. Guys at the office were super nice and other than the dust, was extremely dry for days before I went, it was a breeze. In and out with cash in hand, more than expected, for metal that wouldve gone to the curb. Been to quite a few yards over the years being in the construction industry and Capital is on it.

I do not like the fact that they require your fingerprint. That was really weird & honestly made me feel like I was a criminal or something.HoweverIt was a lot easier & way more convinient then I had initially thought. We wasted a lot of time sitting on money (scrap), waiting for a scrap guy to come around. Literally way easier & more money for us to just take it to capital scrap.

Shady business. I asked the secretary if they accept old electronics, and was told they pay $0.20 per pound. I brought in 75 lbs. of computers and printers, and an employee dropped one printer and computer onto the cart, shattering them into multiple pieces. The foreman then told me that I don’t have enough material to pay me $10, although I was supposed to receive $15. He told me I could take back my newly-created junk pile, or leave it with them, which I ended up having to do. I left empty-handed, and wish I read the other reviews before coming here.

Ive been going here for years and never had this problem until one day i came in and there was a different guy acting like he was the boss. I brought brand new dryer filter copper and they weighed it as steel because a small piece of the copper was metal. The magnet they used only stuck to the small part of the copper that had a tiny piece of metal and they considered it steel. So they basically stole my copper. I will mever take my copper there again. And i get lots of it. Screw Capital Scrap Metal in Pompano. I will take my metals elsewhere.

It is terrible there after it rains. Went today and it was a mud pit. And getting more difficult to get through. Seems like there moutains of metal keep growing. But they do have the best price on steel. So i keep going back

Had 2,000 pounds of copper. fair price, but as soon as they put it on the scale it weighed 1700. ended up taking to another scrap yard. buyer be ware.

Then should have a no star option. Big ripoff. Then use attachments on shutters as a reason to give you less, using the term dirty. Those attachments are what cause the shutters to slide open and close. Additionally they treat you like a criminal. They take your license, thumb print and picture after ripping you off. Take about adding insult to injury. I would rather donate the item or items if possible that to go through an experience like this again. Not worth it.

Dropped off a pallet of wet and gel batteries. Its a busy place, and there was a bit of a wait, but altogether a smooth experience. Will be back there again.

This company does a great job getting you in and out and provides a quality rate for all metals.

The reviews about this place are all wrong! Employees were very rude and treated us like garbage! It was so bad we loaded our material back up and left. The prices are good but the treatment to their customers is horrible. Its not worth the extra money!

Straight up THIEVES!!!!! Seller BEWARE. If you have different metals they like to throw all of it on the scale and then pay you dirty metal price when 80% was clean copper. Then to add insult to getting rammed from behind, they round down yer check like the .49 cents would bankrupt them. Oh well like the old saying goes Screw me once shame on you, Screw me twice.... AINT GONNA HAPPEN . Hope you spent my profit wisely.
