Not a daycare!!!! The instructors are excellent with kids of all ages. They teach with old school values: Honor, Respect, Discipline, Confidence.Renshi Lee and Sensei Matt sees the potential of every student that attends class, this ranges of all age groups. Our son has been going to the dojo on a regular basis since he was 4 years old. He was their very first child student in the Little Samurai class, then the week after, there were a few more little ones. Now, there are more than 20+ kids per class. They had to add more classes to accommodate the growth. They not only there to teach Karate, they also address things that happen in everyday life. Examples: Bullying, chores and responsibilities, integrity, self worth, pier pressure, etc. It is one of the best investment that I have made for my child.

Since graduating college I have tried to find ways to stay healthy and lose weight. This ranges from personal training sessions, to 5k runs, to gym memberships. It wasnt until I started to take Karate that I have been excited to workout and looked forward to the next class.I was apprehensive at first to attend, since i had no previous training and I was an adult. But from the first class, they didnt make me feel bad about not knowing basic moves, and were patient throughout classes on teaching me. They are able to adapt the lessons to accommodate beginners and experts.Whether you are a veteran martial artist, or a newbie, i would highly recommend this establishment.

After several months of in home lessons, my son was apprehensive about taking classes with other kids. Despite his best efforts I saw him smiling throughout his first class. He was hooked. The instructors are a great balance between strict and fun. Discipline, respect, and self improvement are key elements to class but presented in ways that keep the kids engaged and pushing themselves because THEY want it.At least once a week my son tells me how glad he is that weve joined this dojo. His confidence and assertiveness are soaring. The instructors are not only great with the kids but accommodate adults getting started as well. I joined my son in class about two months ago and now Im not sure who looks forward to going more. Its a fantastic workout and a very supportive environment despite your fitness level.Long story short, I couldnt recommend this place any higher.

My son loves doing karate here! Lee and Matt are such great teachers and really know how to keep the kids focused. They take their training very seriously but also have a great time with the kids so that they dont feel like it is all work. They are reasonably priced and my son loves being able to come to so many classes. If I had more time in my day I would definitely sign up for their adult classes, they seem like a great workout!

Sensei Lee has a great personality and an amazing teaching style. Its great to see someone that really cares about the development of his students and not just using his dojo as a money making machine. Awesome people, great environment, and awesome program

Great instructors! A great learning environment this dojo is dedicated to not simply teach people karate but to help its student grow into better people in all aspects of life. My girls and I are loving the school and not to mention how patient they are with my 3 years old. We are definitely here to stay with them permanently.

Truthfully, we started going to this dojo because it was the closest to our house and had a great trial offer. Like a few others have said, our kid was sent off the mat his first day. It was brutal for us to watch, but now that he has moved up in rank over the past year, it’s ours and the owner’s favorite story of overcoming challenges and accomplishing great things. We couldn’t be happier with the hours, instructors and outcomes!

Excellent teachers mainly for teaching them the discipline and concentration and confidence in them, in my opinion I change a lot their strong character, I learned to trust in it as if you can do things if you propose it, mainly to teach respect towards others, Saul was a very shy boy now I am noticing his participation. Thank you very much excellent teachers.🥊🥋😊

When my husband and I decided to begin our search for a dojo, I took the task very seriously. I wanted a school that taught a more traditional style (as suggested by a friend) - but more importantly, I wanted to find a school that emphasized respect and boundaries. I signed up for several dojo mailing lists and was pleasantly surprised to start receiving weekly messages from TASK with parenting tips, stories, lessons that focus on the health and well-being of the children and their families. I was in love with the core beliefs already evident from just these emails! We signed up my son up for a trial and eventually enrolled him for a full year, and during this time I have seen the support and care Sensei Lee and Sensei Maxine have for the kids. When my son encountered a difficult situation at school, Sensei Lee was quick to be involved and be a sounding board. They are strict. They demand high levels of respect from and give high levels of respect to all the children. I am so happy with our choice to send our son here.

I have been attending this dojo since the first shotokan class Sensei Lee taught with four other adult students about five years ago. Since then, there has been tremendous growth in the dojo, and all the instructors I’ve worked with have been truly focused on teaching the art and way of karate and believe anyone can learn it.I’ve seen the dojo grow and shift over the past years, and I’ve improved with it. Learning traditional shotokan karate led to a lifelong interest for me in the philosophy and history of not just karate, but other martial arts as well. I’ve been able to use this interest to help with projects in high school and to help determine my college plans. Middle and high school are a hard time for any kid, but even when I was stressed or not at my best, I always found that getting myself to the dojo was worth it. The instructors taught me traditional and effective techniques as well as concepts such as Funakoshi’s 20 Precepts, which I try my best to remember and follow, and this has greatly improved my character. I know now that I am better at managing anger, making decisions, and being kinder to those around me. I always did well in school, but I credit what I learned in martial arts with giving me the work ethic and perseverance to maintain those high grades. I’ve also been in a self-defense situation since training in karate (unfortunately), and karate was far more effective for me in those situations than when I trained in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. That’s increased my confidence greatly, especially as I go into college.I officially worked as an assistant instructor for this dojo for about a year and a half, and from that I’ve been able to see others who have had positive impacts from martial arts like I had. Seeing that truly motivated me to always be the best instructor I could and to keep trying to help students, and this dojo shares that mindset. They try to help all students, regardless of circumstance or other factor, and they set very high but realistic expectations for everyone. We only ask one thing of the students: 100% effort. Another review mentioned a child being kicked off the mat, and that will happen if a student is not being safe. Students do get warnings, and being kicked off the mat is a last resort to protect the other students. Safety is a huge and unflinching priority of this dojo. However, even kids who have been kicked off the mat before have shown improvements when they stay and put in 100% effort. An all-around amazing place to train karate.

My son has been going to this studio for about a year. The owner is far from a bully (I was at the class where that child was sent off the matt for misbehaving and kicking other kids repeatedly) he holds the kids to a high standard of discipline and safety and is an extremely talented instructor. If your not paying attention or misbehaving you will be sat down and not allowed to participate for safety and discipline reasons. My son will continue to be a student for years to come.

We love this dojo! My son has been attending classes for over 2 years now. He has gained such tremendous amount of confidence that reflects the teachings of the dojo.Over the past two years I have watched the students grow in many ways. I Saw children that when they first walked in door were shy, quiet with very little selfconfidence because of the bullies in their schools, now they are leaders and helpers.I have also seen children with discipline challenges that have learned how to respect others as well as themselves. The same children are now happy and determined. Some turned out to be World Champions who would do anything to help others.Discipline is a very important part of Marshall arts. DISCIPLINE, RESPECT AND SAFETY are the first things that this dojo teaches as a foundation to give each student the best opportunity to achieve his or her full potential.Discipline does start at home and this institution just adds support as the child grows. The instructors here are GREA!! they show the respect, they expect to get in return. They make learning karate, discipline and respect fun.

I had a gym membership for years. My attendance became sporadic as it became a boring routine. Also I wasnt getting a full body workout even with all my good intentions and trying. After joining the Karate classes I didnt find a need to continue my gym membership. Although some recommend continuing, I didnt find a need anymore. At TASK I am learning a great martial arts form under the friendly and patient Renshi Lee and Sensei Matt. I definitely recommend it for both adults and kids. (My son also joined TASK a year back.)

I brought my son to this dojo almost 10 months ago when soccer ended. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place. Renshi Lee and Sensei Matt are some of the best instructors around. This dojo is really focused on discipline and attention and not just on giving out belts. The instructors are no nonsense and really focus on discipline and respect. If your child gets out of hand or is rude and disrespectful, the instructors will not hesitate to call out your child and/or remove them if necessary. This is not meant to be mean, but meant as a way to keep control and let the students know that there are consequences. This has helped my child out tremendously because in the 9 months we have been here, his attention and focus have improved and he is much more disciplined. We plan on coming here for as long as we can and I plan on enrolling my other child as soon as he turns 3.

I agree with sonny, first of all we need to know the difference between a daycare and martial arts. This is the place you go to to learn discipline, confidence, respect, focus, and self defense.Renshi Lee,and Sensei Matt are the best instructors we have in Plano area. The first time my daughter started she was very shy and had low self-esteem but today they have token her above and beyond now she is a world champion because of them. They are very friendly, very good with the kids, caring, funny, the kids are very comfortable with them. The reason why I am saying this because I sit and watch my daughter improve every day.He teachs kids how to stop bulling and how to stand up for them selfs with his own time.My daughter doesnt want to miss it for a day. I highly recommend this dojo for anyone who want the best for them or their child.Hi, I am a student at the dojo I cant tell how much fun I have with my instructors. They make me smile even if I have a bad day they always find a way.I can always trust them no matter what. They always give me good advice, and do their best at making me better. They are the best people you can ever meet.Thank you Renshi, and Sensei for everything you have done for meSincerely, Your student
