Literally love it here. A giant gym full of great staff and fun walls. They reset A LOT, so theres always something new. Great mix
Awesome place and great staff. Good people and 5 stars in every way. I do hope they build one in McKinney!
Probably the best climbing experience I’ve ever had. The walls were challenging and the teachers were awesome. Lots of great stuff to do here. There are single man courses and two man courses that you and a partner can work together. Complete with a fitness area (including yoga). This will ruin all future rock walls for me! I’ll definitely be back...after I catch my breath from today 😅
Summit is an excellent climbing gym with super friendly staff. This is one of the best locations and there are many amenities for the customers. I would give this place 5 stars, but unfortunately I marked it as 4 stars because I had to fill out 5 different legal documents before climbing. As a previous customer with climbing experience, I should not be subjected to an HOUR and a HALF of paperwork plus an orientation. Other than this long paperwork process- I highly suggest!
Dope climbing gym. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Bouldering area is usually used by welcoming people happy to collaborate on solving the problems with you. Some clever route setters. Safety instruction required on your first visit which makes everyone more safe. Try it out if you’ve never climbed, the gym is not intimidating and you won’t stick out for being inexperienced.
The bouldering is pretty good, but this is probably the nicest lead climbing gym you will find in the DFW maybe even Texas.
Awesome experience at Summit Climbing. I was only in town for four days and went twice. The route setting, the diversity of routes either bouldering or roped climbing is amazing. I found myself lost in a sea of mantles, stems, crimps, and body puzzles. The patrons were super friendly and really welcoming if you are willing to strike up a conversation. Highly recommend gym I 10/10 recommend to anyone one or a family looking to try out a new activity or progress your skills!
Been going here frequently for a few months now, overall have had a generally good experience, my only complaint is the loudspeaker announcements near the end of the day. Sometimes it’s brief and to the point, but other times it’s overwhelming and obnoxious, but last night the employee who frequently wears the ears on her head was doing the announcements and spoke/sang literally nonstop from 9:45-10:00, when it’s supposed to be “off the walls” at 9:55. I don’t understand how anybody can want to climb here while being bombarded over very loud speakers all around the gym. I understand employees would like to leave on time, but forcing members out of the gym by giving them a headache is not the appropriate manner.
9/2020Kai is awesome! My intro membership had an error and Kai fixed me up with a refund/explanation of what happened. If you can come away from a false charge issue with a smile you know they are taking care of you!8/2020Eddie and Spencer were awesome and I greatly appreciate how fun they made this experience!
As of today probably the most comprehensive summit gym with big walls, a big bouldering area, a fitness area, a kilter and moon board, yoga studio, and an entire upstairs kid section
Insanely cool place, Ive never climbed before and I did much better than expected, employees there are incredible, they change the where the rock are every 5 weeks so you can never really get used to each wall. Definitely will be coming back more often
Oversold memberships. Crowded. They make it difficult to cancel membership. In the past couple of months I could never find a good time to climb when the gym was not packed.Tried to cancel my membership via phone and email and they refused. They said I must appear in person to cancel. I don’t understand since I bought my membership online.
A good hang, no pun intended. Good yoga class. Rogue kettlebells and equipment upstairs. Pop punk on the stereo.
Best climbing gym in DFW!If you like top rope, lead climbing, or bouldering, this place is for you. Newly opened a few weeks ago. The space is utterly massive, easily three stories tall with separate climbing areas based on your preferences.Upstairs you can find some cardio equipment, weights, and squat racks.Tuesday’s they have two for one pricing under $12.
Absolutely love this gym, kids climb here a lot and sometimes they have to set routes for kids which j don’t enjoy but other than that, great gym!
This place is awesome. Any climber nearby should go.
Had an amazing time! Thank you to Kacey for the help during orientation and answering my probably annoying questions with no issue! Excellent customer service all around even from the desk and I cannot wait to come back again!
Great climbing gym. The heights alone of the lead rope and auto belay area is amazing! One of the tallest gyms Ive been to. The boulder area is big enough for a lot of fun routes. Even with a ton of people there today there was still enough wall to go around. Only negative is the markings and grades for routes isnt incredibly clear or easy to see on some routes. Still loved my visit!
Fantastic place. Great staff, and a super friendly and encouraging atmosphere. As clean as they can be, only complaint is wearing a mask the whole time suuucks, although understandable given these times and the close proximity of other patrons. 10/10 would absolutely recommend.
I’m an almost complete climbing beginner, and I still had lots of fun! There are climbing routes for just about every skill level. The employees are all super friendly. Just an overall great atmosphere.Everyone in the gym had a mask on, so that made me feel safe. In addition, I was there during one of the busiest times, and I still thought it was possible to physically distance. One thing to know is that the first time you go, there will be a 20 to 30 minute orientation. Plus, there’s a waver you’ll need to sign (if you didn’t already do it online), so leave yourself some time.
Dallas has a great climbing community. Relatively low price and a lot of different routes compared to other cities.
My first time ever rock climbing and it was great! We have nothing like this where I live. Quick orientation on how everything works and the safety. 22 dollars and change for an all day pass. Has a nice work out area with weights, a few machines, jump ropes and a few other things. There were walls for beginners to practice, shorter walls with different levels of difficulty, and the high walls had the different levels as well. Everything seemed pretty clean, other than chalk everywhere but obviously thats expected lol. Honestly the floors were pretty clean even considering most people using chalk which tells me the people going here are very considerate and/or the people working are on top of keeping things clean. The instructor was thorough and very nice. Other climbers were friendly as well. A friend who climbs regularly was challenged, I was also challenged but Im new and stuck to the easy levels. It was overall a great experience and I cant wait to go back and try the next level!! Have fun (:
Awesome facility. Awesome staff they do a student special on their membership very affordable and are always eager to help. 100% recommend
It was a great place with many walls to climb. I wasnt able to climb many walls since I have a condition but my son had a blast. It also has a small gym area with weight sets and treadmills. I will try to strength my toes before going again.
The gym is in texas where the weather gets extremely hot outside especially during non-winter months and the ac is quite poor in the gym meaning that on hot days the gym can easily get to 80+ °F. I come here with my friends and many times it is insanely difficulty to climb and workout when chalk doesn’t stay on your fingers and you need to down gallons of water to not faint of heat exhaustion. I wish I was exaggerating here but if you don’t think it’s bad try working out outside in the heat of texas. Some of this is unpreventable without replacing ac units which is understandable. The problem comes in when the weather outside the gym is cool say 65 degrees yet with all the people and windows in the gym the temperature can still get to 75-80 degrees with the sun beaming in and the building acting like a greenhouse. Well simple solution to this problem, open the massive garage doors that the gym has, right? I request that they open the doors and have been for the past 6 months because it keeps the gym at a reasonable temperature and with Covid circulation of fresh air is also a positive. I come in today and one of the Assistant managers has put locks on both of the doors so that the other employees aren’t able to open the door and let the temperature settle. I hate to name names but Jonathan Eubanks has nobodies interest in mind but his own. Since he sits in a room all day not moving around or working out 75 might feel fine, but to the 99% of people who come to the gym to climb or work out it’s far too hot. I’ve heard it from almost every person who climbs in the gym at one point or another that it’s super hot and now with the doors locked there is no option but to let it heat up like a greenhouse even on cool sunny days. Hope this is fixed soon and the gym returns to a usable state!
Summit Plano does not disappoint! Lots of ropes and lead and two solid boulder areas. There’s a new kilter board and moon board plus weights and free classes if you’re a member, no complaints. Happy Summiteer here!
Ive been started climbing here for the 4 months ago and Im so glad got my membership. Climbing is my new obsession and I cant get enough of it. It can get busy in the evenings and it is hard to social distance at times but it is generally clean and the staff is always friendly and helpful.
Too much fun, definitely one of my new favorite hobbies!
Been attending Summit for ages. Went to exposure before there was a summit. Night climbs, competitions, holiday events- I’ve been lead certified there twice(my info was at some point so had to do it again.) and had an updated waiver every year for the last I don’t know how many. For whatever reason the receptionist had an attitude off the rip. Made a a comment To a coworker about my brother having a neck gator when he turned his back instead of addressing it when she was talking to him. I interjected and purchased 2 1$ approved mask so there’d be no issue. She makes an odd comment when my nephew is putting his harness on.. a little unnecessary but we move on from there... then For whatever reason I end up having to test..(certified lead there last year, no problems.) I can dig it though- I’m With some people that may had not done the test before so w/e.. then she fails me lol... at this point I’m just annoyed with her attitude and assessment- so we decide it’d be best if we just left. When I went to the desk to get my refund a manager(Jonathan) came to his employees defense without ever hearing my side... tells me we have to be careful not to give other people bad or unsafe habits.. apparently they’ll get that from me... the manager was very patronizing during the interaction. Arms crossed, rocking back and forth, so I asked for the GM’s info...but the manner and tone that I got that information in tells me they are homies and nothing will happen.. which is why I’ll just leave a review.. I’ll not be going back to this location.I don’t know what happened... moved mid last year to Co so I could be closer to the mountains... just wanted to pop in and hit a route with my fam..Best climbing set up in Dallas-Most disrespectful staff in Dallas. Glad I don’t have to rely on this gym.Check out the Silo’s in downtown Carrollton.. that place is ancient but awesome.
Have been coming here since they opened and I love it. It gets really busy some evenings during the week, less with covid but still... Love the lady crushers Sundays!
My favorite climbing gym in the area.Tall walls and plenty of lead climbing routes on them!Big bouldering section, kilter and moon board, treadmills, weights, and classes included with a membership.Friendly staff and great community of climbers!
First time rock climbing and it was awesome
This is my favorite place in the city! Its everything you could ever want in a rock gym.
Its a nice gym however it gets way too hot, especially in the upstairs training area. Would be nice to have some fans up there or leave the doors open, especially when its cooler outside.
Some hours are very busy, but overall great staff and facility!
Really good bouldering gym. Not big, but fully packed with great routes.Kudos to routsetters
Affordable pricing, especially for students, with impressively tall top-rope and a large section for bouldering.
Does not have logical guidelines for COVID in place, despite Texas lifting their mask mandate. Be prepared to be told your mask isn’t good enough and have to wear one they supply; the ones you can’t breath through. This goes for kids too.
Was fantastic, went with a group of friends, I think Sanoya is the ladies name (definitely spelling it wrong) really sweet girl, was awesome when giving the orientation, she was genuinely fun to learn from. Very safe, very open and lots of ways to rumble around, worth it.
Great Gym, knowledgeable staff, good prices; cant complain.
Ive been going for almost half a year and can say nothing but very great things about this location!!
Soo much fun while staying safe and practicing social distancing between people. This is my first time going so I did the tutorial that took a while but Im glad they didnt rush me. They made sure I knew exactly what I was doing before I went on my own. Thanks for yalls patience for us first-timers! So grateful 🙏💖
They take covid19 safety serious, which is nice. They have good procedures in place. The gym is awesome. Lots of climbing routes - short and pretty long ones - and lots of bouldering space.
This place was so great! All of the staff are really nice and welcoming. It made my first time enjoyable. Came on a Friday night and it was pretty busy but still got to do a lot!
Tall walls, great staff, well maintained. Love this place!
Fantastic gym. It’s absolutely gorgeous and has a little bit of everything for everyone. Their orientation is super thorough and the staff is extremely friendly and on top of it. The gym is super clean, and the staff walks around making sure everyone is being safe. Safety is their number one priority.
Before I took my kid here, I was concerned if a 7 years old kid can enjoy this place. It turned out there is a kids section on the second floor. My kid even tried some harder ones on first floor. Great place for rock climbing.
Will tell you your mask isnt acceptable but you have to purchase one for a dollar. But the attitude of the staff is very passive aggressive it was like that to my entire family. Just disappointing
I came to the Plano location because Dallas didnt have any more reservation slots. The bouldering problems were rated consistently one or two grades lower than their actual difficulty. Its pathetic that a chain cant even manage to grade consistently between two gyms so close together.
One of the more beautiful indoor gyms Ive been to (not to mention the lovely wild sunflower field outside). Its very modern, features tall walls, and has great routes all around. I do wish they designed the bouldering area a little more efficiently, however. Its a must visit and now my favorite summit location. Also, please get more lead ropes!
Came with a group of kids for a Tuesday eve 2 for 1 special.Staff was extremely helpful & attentive to every detail. A special thanks to Oliver for his excellent orientation and exceptional patience with our group. You guys rock! Will be back.
I love this place!! It was my first time rock climbing but I’ll definitively be going again! The thing that I didn’t like is that their training wasn’t as good as it could be...that being said it was definitely worth the money
This gym is so awesome. The walls are tall and the routes are set well. The big draw though is their community. Summit has really done a lot to build a community of climbers and it really shows. Everyone is friendly from employees to regulars. I always feel at home.
Great value, great variety in the gym, friendly staff!
Wish I could actually review the facility. Went to drop in for a day pass and even called ahead of time asking about the gym and for pertinent info relating to pricing/etc. Wasnt told at all about any closures. Arrived on a Thursday to be told at the front desk, with as minimal friendliness required by an employee, that more or less the entire gym was closed until Monday. I wish there was a little more advertismenet or communication of such a large facility undergoing such large closures, otherwise, I wouldnt have spent an enormous amount of time trying to visit.
Great staff and great indoor facility.
Top rope is great. Bouldering not so great. If you like bouldering, Fort Worth is the best by far! Other than that, the gym is new, clean, great, busy with people.
Great staff, great vibe, yeah you have to wear a mask, its worth it!
Love it! Great place, people, staff, and loads of fun
Lots of fun
Great place
I freaking love this gym! The walls are high and the routes are endless. If you’re new, I recommend joining a climbing group. The community here is great and the people are friendly.
Great lead walls, friendly staff, and lovely facility
The best of everything in DFW! Top rope, bouldering, lead climbing, speed wall, traverse boulder, workout area, and awesome yoga room. Some really tall walls! Love this place! :-)
Summit Plano is by far the most fancy gym out of the DFW summit gyms. The walls here are absolutely HUGE. If you are afraid of heights, be prepared to quiver before the gigantic wall. There’s plenty of bouldering and top rope here, in addition to lead climbing. Each of the summit gyms has strengths and weaknesses. This one is pretty much superior in every way, except that it’s really far from my house 😅Summit as a whole is a good gym. I have been a member for nearly a year and I haven’t had any problems with them. Membership is pretty expensive but if you climb often enough it’s worth it.
A super cool gym with super friendly members. Boulder problems change often. Plenty of routes for all levels. Classes offered for improving climbing, as well as yoga and trx classes. Locker rooms are large and have showers, but towels are not always stocked. The only reason I deduct a star is that it gets incredibly full.
Great prices and great climbing no matter if you are a beginner or a pro. Everyone is very supportive and the staff are great at teaching you the basics.
Great location and huge walls!
Such an amazing place! Best rock climbing place I have ever been to. Not only is there plenty to do but the staff are great too! 💕
Ive had a lot of fun here, and I climb here regularly. The routesetting is really so that theres something for everyone and THE TOP ROPE WALLS ARE HUGE!Highly recommend.
I feel like a real mountain man but without a beard. Best forearm workout and great spot for a more adventurous date thingamajig.
This new climbing gym is huge! Spacious interior with many routes. If you have been to other summit locations, like Carrollton or Dallas, this place has lead and top rope walls that are twice as tall. They top out around 60 ft. Large bouldering area, fitness center, and yoga studio. They even have top rope walls that start on the 2nd story. Now I just want Summit to expand their more central locations.
Great gym, lead wall is one of the tallest I’ve seen! Great staff
Fantastic high ropes and every type of boulder you could want.
Great Gym for all around fitness!
Summit is the place to climb in Dallas
Theres really good service here I had Wendy help me with orientation, she was very kind and helpful
Legite!!! The best of the best climbing gyms in dfw. This one has bench press and everything else all the others have. Only thing missing is a sauna haha!
Seriously excellent gym. Great people, good fitness, a lot of opportunity for fun.
Excelent
Really enjoyed our time there. My daughter keeps begging me to go back, so thats a good sign, right?
This place is heaven on Earth, routes for days, bouldering problems to fill your heart two times over! Love, love, LOVE THIS PLACE!
Only true rope climbing gym in DFW. The lead climbing surfaces are high quality and theres a good mix of rope and bouldering.
