I had to file 2 claims within days of each other during the COVID19 pandemic. The worst insurance company ever! I had an accident last month, a deer jumped in front of my new van. I took it to a local reputable collision center. I ended up getting my van towed on my own because State Farm kept promising me they would pick it up with their tow company. It sat in a lot from Wednesday till Friday because State Farm failed on their promises so I had it towed by the collision center. State Farm then sent out the adjuster to look at my that was not there yet on Friday because they still had not towed it yet after telling me it would be picked up by 1pm. I had to wait till Monday until the adjuster could come out and write the estimate. I received an emailed copy of the estimate and was happy to get repairs underway. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday Sunday pass. I dropped by the body shop on Monday to check on the status of repairs. I get told they never received a copy of the repair estimate they could not start repairs until then. This is when everything went down hill. I lost track the number of times I called State Farm trying to get this mess figured out. Most of the customer service people did not have a clue because some of the answers I got were all different. Their adjuster also lied and stated in the notes he had left a copy of the estimate with the Collision Center Manager and the Service Writer. Now to top things off I find out work has halted because there was a supplement submitted because I needed a radiator. A FREAKIN RADIATOR! The collision center manager and the service advisor told him it was punched in the accident and they smelled coolant. State Farms reasoning for not putting it in there? The condenser is in front of the radiator so the estimator can only go by what he can see. Its just plain common sense. So now I have 2 days left before my $1,000 limit is up with my insurance to pay my rental and my van is still in pieces cause State Farm does not have a clue on how to do their job. I was actually told by a customer service representative that it was part my responsibility to make sure the body shop a a copy of the estimate? I thought I paid them to do that. As soon as this nightmare is over I need new car insurance. Whatever you do you better think twice about State Farm!
