I have filed report about the damage on the room ceiling for a million times. When i move out,it did not get fixed and they charged my security deposit. Don’t you dare say that I was not an resident here. Really good job, skyvue. You just showed me that money can be so easy to make in Pittsburgh by screwing your residents.

I recently moved to SkyVue Apartments in Pittsburgh a few months ago and my experience so far has been fantastic. I love it here! The facilities are excellent. There is a fabulous gym and sky lounge on the top floor to study with a panoramic breathtaking view of the city and river. The residents of SkyVue are extremely friendly and kind as well as building admin. They have been extremely helpful in assisting me to adjust to Pittsburgh upon my move and holding packages while I am away. The units are also very open and spacious with high ceilings. Strongly recommend leasing a unit with a river view on the higher floors. Lovely view!! The windows are extremely large making the units very sun filled as well. Before my move, I visited and researched many other apartment buildings in Oakland and SkyVue is by far the best. Its also extremely close to the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon which has been very helpful during COVID being within walking distance to and from campus.

To be honest, If I could give it 0 stars… Skyvue definitely deserve it… at first I was suppose to get a studio that was furnished. A week prior to my move in they told me there was a water leak and that the unit was unavailable and gave me a 1 bedroom that was unfurnished… fortunately they gave me some furniture… When I moved in the thermostat was broken, fridge was broken, plumbing for sink need to be replaced, the faucet need replacement, the garbage disposal needed a replacement, the floor was damaged and there was no couch or coffee table. I called before hand about what furniture was suppose to be in my unit and they confirmed everything, but when I moved in and asked them about it they said “it was miscommunication” for the furniture and when I talked to them about all the problems with the unit they said “we didn’t expect anyone to live in this unit so we didn’t do all the inspections, but at least you have a place to live.” They said they would give me credit if i bring my receipt for the days I could not cook because of the sink being broke, then when my food spoiled cause of the broken fridge and no thermostat, they said they would give me credit for the replacement… they also said they would give me a concessions for the inconvenience but the credit they gave me was the concession apparently and its absolutely ridiculous.

Best way to describe everything that is wrong with one simple example:Gym was closed for months (while everyone else reopened when law allowed). Everything was broken before the curfew, 3 months later gym reopens and everything is still broken! Why didnt they take the time to fix everything??? Its a joke and similar to how everything else here is managed. All the common areas are a disaster. Elevators always breaks. Water damage. and so much more. please read the other real reviews not the ones with one contribution. The price does not reflect the condition of this property and how everything is always broken. Please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

I am writing this review to participate in one of the buildings free programs/giveaways. These are great little events that management plans, however writing a review always seems to be a condition for participating so not really free in my opinion. Its honestly tough to write anything nice about this place except that the apartments themselves are pretty nice. A good size and good appliances. Only downside is the windows dont open which they dont advertise on the tour. The management and amenities however are a whole different story. Anytime something is broken (all the time) be it the elevator, fireplace, outside heaters, something in your apartment, etc. the people in the leasing office just tell you that someone is working on it or that theyll get back to you with a solution both of which never seem to happen. Take the elevator that has been broken for 7 weeks or my garbage disposal that was collecting water in it for 3 months before someone came to fix it for example. Not to mention the great features of the amenities no one on staff seems to be able to explain how to work. This place might be worth the money if the staff actually spent more time managing the building and providing help to its tenants, but honestly the rent is way too high for the service you get here.

Expensive and very poor service. Proximity to Carnegie is nice but when you have to come home to a messy building and you cant pick up your deliveries on your own time, its not worth it. Also, the walls are paper thin and the water pressure is so weak. Its really too bad because from the outside it looks nice but when you move in you realized they dont care. They want me to pay full price but the gym and other amenities are still closed. Seriously? Its embarrassing to have people over, the elevators are broken and cones because of a water leak in the main lobby. This has been going on for so long. And even when the common areas were open, everything is broken. They did not show me this when I visited. Met some other nice people living here from Pitt and other CM students while waiting in line for my packages when I come home between 5&6 but everyone is very dissatisfied.

Do not recommend living here. My garbage disposal was broken upon move in and it took maintenance five months to finally show up to fix it. The hallways are extremely dirty, the main front lobby elevator has been broken for 7 months and I have yet to see them work on it. Amenities remained closed even after it was legal to reopen and even after they finally reopened, most of the gym equipment was broken which again took months to fix. The package system is horrible, for some reason they thought giving the entire building a 2-hour window to be able to pick up a package would help with covid, but it did the exact opposite, as the lobby was packed from 4-6pm with a giant line to claim your package. Look elsewhere (bridges, one on centre).

Just began living in Skyvue during the pandemic so I havent had the opportunity to enjoy all the amenities that would have normally been available. I did get a chance to see them and during my tour and believe that it really would have improved my living experience here. One amenity that I cannot live without is probably the dog park and dog wash area. The living space is nice, just wish we had more window in this particular unit.

I lived here my junior year at Pitt. Ill start with the good things.Amenities - this is probably the biggest draw. Having a gym on site was incredible. It was rarely overcrowded and the equipment was sufficient for a decent workout. And the ability to go any time of the day was awesome. If you enjoy playing piano, there are 3 to choose from, which was amazing. The patios are great places to hang out, and the grills got a lot of use.Space - I was in a 3-person suite. Each of the bedrooms had plenty of space, and the shared bathroom area was great. The living room/dining room was almost too big, it was really nice to have that much space. The main drawback of Skyvue, in my college student opinion, is the price. Sure there is a lot to love, but the rent is just so much higher than just about anything else in the area. I think it is more reasonable for somebody with a full-time job than it is for a student. There were also some quirks while I lived there, such as the fire alarm going off seemingly every two or three weeks for no apparent reason. If money were no object I certainly would have stayed at SkyVue, and I do find myself missing it quite often.

I recently moved in to SkyVue and I could not be happier with it. I LOVE IT! The move in process was really smooth and the team was very helpful in aiding me set in. Because of the pandemic I was required to do a 14 day quarantine upon my arrival, so I was very concerned about setting up the apartment (as it comes unfurnished). However I was able to make all my purchases online prior to coming, and SkyVue held in those packages for me some weeks in advance. This made the move-in so good, and I was settled and feeling at home in just a couple days.I got an A1 apartment on the top floor, facing the Cathedral of Learning, and the views are excellent both during the day and night. I was a bit worried that my room did not face south and I would not be getting as much light, but I could not have been more wrong. The windows are huge and there is a lot of natural light coming in (so much that during the day I don’t even have to turn on the lights). The apartment looks brand new, clean and spacious. I could not like it more! And the kitchen and the island are so great that it invites you to cook even if, like me, you don’t have much prior experience.I have required maintenance help to set up the Wi-Fi and fix a bulb, and they were very quick to have these fixed.I am a bit sad that I haven’t yet been able to enjoy the common areas, and I am eager to use them as soon as the pandemic allows it.Regarding the surroundings, I still haven’t been able to explore much of Pittsburgh, but so far the street where the building is located is very nice, and feels safe.I would highly recommend SkyVue to anyone looking for a new place to feel like home.A especial thanks to Elizabeth, Leasing & Marketing Team Leader at SkyVue, who has been key in the whole process: choosing the units, helping with the deliveries and the maintenance.

I used to live here with my bf while at PITT. Came back to visit friend who lives here now and wow this place has gone down hill.Just for fun, we wanted to read what others were saying. We were really surprised to see so many positive reviews! Then we noticed most of them only had 1 review. Also, could not help but notice one of the reviews (because it had 5 reviews, so we figured this was real), it was from some one called Heather Floyd. Turns out she works at Cardinal Group (the company that manages the building, just google it)! So obvious when you see all her reviews are of apartment buildings. Conflict of interest much? LOLEDIT: She has since changed her name Caitlin Cox (Response from the owner was also updated to reflect name change), this might change again or be deleted but makes you wonder when a property manager is doing this and also about the validity of other reviews.

Overall the apartment accomodations are really nice. The appliances are all relatively new and work completely fine. The furniture that comes with the furnished apartments (desks, stools, couch, desk chair, chair, and beds) are all comfortable and Ive had no issues with them. The front office staff are all extremely nice, helpful, and responsive to any problems that you have. The biggest issues that I have with SkyVue are the overall management and maintenance of common areas. The management has made what I think are some questionable decisions overall, and specifically during Covid. For example, after the virus started they restricted the hours that the hundreds of residents can pick up packages to 1 hour per day. This caused there to be a lot of people congregating in the main lobby to pick up their packages, which seems like the worst thing that they could do during a pandemic. They have since increased this time to 2 hours per day which has decreased the amount of people. As for maintenance of common areas, the hallways and stairwells are cleaned very sporadically, with trash or broken glass sometimes not being taken care of for weeks. The elevators are also frequently closed and the main one has been down for months at a time before.Overall I enjoy living here at SkyVue, but there are a lot of inconveniences that detract from the overall experience. Therefore I can only give 3 stars.

Something is always broken. Elevators and common areas are filthy. Amenities were all closed until recently and now the only things that are open are the gym and the 4th floor courtyard. Fire pits in outdoor areas rarely work. This isnt appropriate for the price the residents pay. I will be leaving as soon as possible. The 1 star is more than they deserve. The only thing that is nice is the location is convenient. Also the only response these dense people can come up with is that you are not in our community like residents dont have multiple email addresses. Its the only way they can defend themselves because the rent price and quality of common areas/amenities are significantly disproportional.

I have lived here for 3 years and the first year was great with a well-maintained building and management. However, after that, I have been extremely disappointed with the management and maintenance. For one, I value safety where I live and I have recently found out that although there is a concierge charge each month in my rent payment there is no concierge that works in this building and the management in the front office rarely answers any emails, they only do so to get your rent money.Second, as stated throughout these reviews, something is always broken and takes extensive amounts of time to be fixed. I could go on about the many issues but heres a peak: mold in the garage ceilings, doors to parking garage areas locked, fire pits, tvs and amenities never working in common areas, elevators constantly down and much more.Third, although management moved our lease to a month-to-month without notifying us when they did, when we spoke the office manager, she informed us that there was absolutely no way to get out of our year long lease until next July 2021 even though that was a clear lie. They want to keep taking money from us with the extra month-to-month fee but then try to lie to their residents to secure them in for a whole other year. After finding out we can in fact get out of our lease, we promptly informed management of our vacating our apartment the end of this month.I for one am not paying the very expensive monthly payments to be lied to by management, have games played on what I am paying for and what my lease actually states, and not have access to the amenities and services I am paying very good money for.If you can, look to other apartment buildings for your next place to live.

A tenant in good-standing and healthcare worker, went to renew lease during COVID last spring. Told that new rent would be 29% higher than current rate. When we pointed out that the website/application site listed a much lower rent for the same studio, were told that the website info hadnt been updated. We asked that they honor the lower rate. The avg rent increase for PA is 7-8% btw. Posting (and then conveniently removing) misleading pricing is a far worse offense. Cardinal Mgmt promised a response to our email outlining this experience and never responded. Buyer beware. In addition: the common areas, halls and elevators were not cleaned properly or frequently, the apartment lighting is impossibly dim, apartment windows do not open, the outside firepits and tvs never worked.

I have lived in this building for four years, since it finished construction in 2016, so during that time I have become pretty family with the pros and cons of living here:Pros:- The upper floors really do have very nice views.- I like the hardwood flooring and the fridge- I like the occasional events the building sponsors, like cheese-tastings or free popcorn/donuts in the lobby.- I like that whenever there is a major inconvenience like an electrical fire where we are not allowed to live in our apartments, they paid for residents to spend that time in a hotel, and refunded that portion of our rent to us.- The electricity and plumbing do work most of the time- Maintenance requests are fulfilled in a timely manner- The front desk staff members are very nice- they returned my deposit after I moved outCons:- There is ALWAYS, ALWAYS, AT LEAST 1/4 elevators that are not operational in this building. This is a major problem for a building with 14 floors, and people have been known to get stuck in said elevators. During the pandemic, there was one day when only 1/4 elevators WAS operating. The result: 8 people breaking social distancing guidelines to get into one elevator in order to get to their apartments.- Major delays in initial construction in 2016, that I believe led to some construction shortcuts.- The quality of the appliances and hardware doesn’t quite match the price it costs to stay here- An electrical fire in the third floor of the garage that occurred in the summer of 2019, during which the power was turned off for about two weeks and residents were not allowed to live in the building. For people who lived on higher floors, we had to walk up and down about a dozen flights of stairs with flashlights to get our things.- A large water main break in winter 2020 led to an absence of running water for about 4-5 days. But the city did supply us bottled water to drink and a water buffalo outside that we could use to shuttle water up to our apartments to flush the toilet.- After living here for 4 years, and never complaining despite the aforementioned inconveniences, I requested to extend my stay for 6 days past my lease terms so that I could align my move with when my next apartment would become available. Management and building ownership denied my request.- moving in and out is a hassle because there’s no loading dock or service elevator. Management denied my request to keep a uhaul ubox in the garage for a couple of days as well.- there’s no guest parking in the garageDespite all of these issues, I continued to live here over the part 4 years because of the building’s locations and because I did not want to take on the hassle of moving. But I do not recommend it if you can find a similar option. Living here has taught me the importance of finding a building with a reasonable management team who values customer service. Again, the people at the front desk are very nice and I never had any issues with them, but the upper management is not very accommodating even with reasonable requests.

Updating my review to reflect on my 2+ years there after moving out.The apartments themselves are very nice, the common spaces are great, and the staff (at the time I lived there) is excellent. Location is great as well. I would recommend going to the staff with ANY issues you may have as they will do their best to assist in any way they can. Unfortunately, soundproofing is nonexistent. Along with the sound getting through, the design of the apartments lends itself to smells getting through as well, so if your neighbors smoke (knowingly breaking the rules of the apartments) then that will seep into your place. The elevators probably spent more time being broken than working, the front elevator would often be down for several months at a time. surely the management company must have been embarrassed when new tenants moved in to what they thought was a high end building with 2/4 elevators not working, then finding out they would stay broken for months. The handling of the electrical fire incident was shameful and the lack of communication through the process should have resulted in much greater compensation for those affected. All in all its a decent place in a good location with good amenities in a neighborhood of mostly run down slumlord houses, so the management company knows they can get away with charging college kids (their parents rather) loads of money for a place that is NOT worth that much at all. The new policies implemented since I left make it sound even worse. The fact that the rent is getting EVEN HIGHER than it was is hilarious.

Management is usually pretty quick with apartment requests. Staff is friendly and apartments are very well maintained. No issues thus far.

Put me and hundreds of other residents out of a home for what will be two weeks. I tried to get more information from management and I was treated like I didn’t matter at all. I know the fire must have been due to their negligence considering how they’ve communicated with residents. If anyone else who lives here is in a civil suit please contact me.

Skyvue has been a great place to live! Super close to downtown, hospitals and parks! Everyone, from the office staff to the maintenance team, are so kind, accommodating and do their best to make this a stress free living environment. We had an issue with our cabinet and the maintenance team was there to fix it within 24 hours. There is great outdoor space but is also super quiet which is great since we are a family living in a college neighborhood! Of course there are always issues that may arise, but I cannot say enough about the whole skyvue team and how quickly and proficiently they address these.

I renewed my lease at skyvue for a second year after enjoying my first year at this convenient location. There is plenty of common space for convenience and privacy, and our apartment itself is very modern with an in-apartment washing machine and great whirlpool appliances. Recommend!

A “small electrical fire” according to the apartment has made all residents homeless for 4 days as I’m writing down this review. No information has been disclosed since the fire happened (BTW the fire alarm did not go off when that small electrical fire happened, FYI).When I was asking for some information from a management staff, I got the answer exactly like:”I don’t know. I’m not talking to you. Talk to my manager, you can sit there waiting for today.”There are more frustrating things in the daily living (e.g. you can not get any package after the working hours), but how the residents are treated in this recent accident is making me really mad. Think twice before you make the decision staying here.

I love skyvue so far. The building is great and very secure, amenities are unmatched in Oakland, and the location is great for a college student. Apartments are spacious and clean, very impressed overall!

Residents left without a place to live and with no power for what will be 3+ weeks. There should be crews working around the clock to restore power to the hundreds of residents but I haven’t seen a single worker. The trash chute rooms are full of rotting garbage. A ton of people are moving out because of the poor management and literally having no where to live. Multiple discussions with management show no indication of any kind of compensation to residents who have to find a place to live for an indeterminate amount of time. Completely ridiculous.

Floor tiles that come up off the floor when you try to move something, drawers that dont open all the way cause room wasnt properly measured for the oven, thin walls in the bathroom, washers that dont clean your clothes, elevators (in a brand new building) that are constantly broken, lack of proper communication, the list goes on. Ridiculously priced for the lack of quality. Cant wait to leave.

I have found Skyvue a great place to live. It Is convenient to buses and access to get around. The staff are very professional and go out of there way to take care of your needs. They have activities to entertain the residents that are geared for all. They try to create a home away from home atmosphere. I have found Skyvue a great place to live especially for comfort and safety.

I cant understand the role they hire property managers. A fame manager enjoys using language harassment to abuse my friend just in front of many residents and he even thinks he is right. We pay the highest rent and receive the lowest living experience. Thanks god we had already moved out .

Ok so after living at One on Centre I had to change my review. This place is HORRIBLY managed. The gym always filthy hardly anything in the common areas function properly. Elevators were always broken. They are extremely slow at getting anything fixed and just lie to you. When you go on a tour ask them to turn on the tvs or projectors on 7 or in the sky lounge maybe 1/5 of them will work.

Signed lease didnt realize students would live there. Loud music from next door till 1am. Music so loud tonight walls were shaking. As a grad student I need to study. I need quiet like in an upscale apartment I was led to believe this was.. I didnt sign lease knowing that it would be like living in a dorm. Still waiting for furniture that was not in apt. that was supposed to be; a DESK! I was told they would call me about furniture but nobody has. Ameneties like gym and terrace are not done; why should I have to pay full amount when I am not getting what I paid for.

Not recommend this place. Lived there for 8 months.Location is great and this is the only advantage.Running machine in fitness room often brakes down for no reason.Never ever choose the top floor since strong wind makes cracking sound on the ceiling/roof.No transparency on parking spot assignment, parking rate was doubled for no reason and was reduced for no reason. I am still paying the highest rate, by the way.Hard to get packages in the evening... Though doorman could do that after hours, but he is not always be there to help. Why not choosing other luxury apartments that includes electricity water internet and heating bills?

*Disclaimer: I was asked to write a review by a staff member.*I have lived in SkyVue for two years and have had a mostly positive experience. The staff host fun events every/every other week that make you feel at home. The building holds nice facilities like a gym, study rooms, and music rooms. It is also in a safe location close to the heart of Oakland, and near several bus stops. It is ideal for university students in this respect, but not in terms of the cost of rent, which is extremely pricey. Another drawback I have experienced is the poor quality of the construction of some of the rooms: when I first moved in to my apartment, the paint was drying, and the floor panels had clearly been laid down in a hurry because many were loose in places and not securely fastened. The walls are also extremely thin, to the extent that you can hear your neighbors constantly, whether or not they are being loud. Given the price, I would expect better in these areas, but overall, my experience at SkyVue has been good.

I had a good experience with skyvue. Not all of their amenities are open yet but my apartment is great. Their office people are really nice taking under consideration all of the times they had to call me to let me know about their construction delays. They paid for my hotel, storage and paid me a daily fee for the inconvenience and when I moved in I got a discount on my rent. I have no issues living here. I recommend it.
