Property is very nice. Staff is terrible and very rude. I asked to speak to the manager and she was so snobby and didnt see like she wanted to help me at all, or even get up from her desk. She was very unprofessionally dressed and I wasnt sure if she even worked there. Lacks in good management

The apartments themselves are only ok - nothing terrible but certainly nothing great. The air conditioning is the loudest Ive ever heard and a lot of the interior feels cheaply made. The complex is sandwiched between two busy roads so its not particularly peaceful, and essentially nothing is accessible from there without highway driving. The leasing office are very responsive/communicative which can be very helpful with basic questions, but they often make living there extremely difficult. Both of our downstairs neighbors smoked on their balconies constantly every single day, such that we could never have our windows open if we didnt want our apartment to stink of weed/cigarettes, nor could we really enjoy our balcony - nothing was ever done about this (despite us notifying the office staff on several occasions). On the flip side, the property is advertised as having bike storage, but when we got there we were informed they had none available, and we were forbidden from storing bikes in the communal areas, outside, or on our own balconies. They leased our apartment to other people while we were still living there, without warning - we simply got an email one day saying we leased your apartment, so you cannot renew your lease. Thankfully we had already decided to move out by this point, but if we ever needed reassurance that we made the right choice, this was it.Finally, there was a huge amount of hassle over the security deposit refund. On the day we moved out, we were given 3 hours notice to send a forwarding address, otherwise your security deposit will be sent to your address here at Park West. I cannot work out the logic in sending the deposit to the one address where you know we are definitely no longer living. On the whole, the most positive review I can give is they wont scam you, and they will take care of basic health and safety, but otherwise, living here was a very unpersonal and unwelcoming experience without much on the positive side to really show for it. Everything was done to the bare minimum and no further.

The apartments here look nice, but thats about the only good thing about living here. After the complex was bought out by Morgan Properties last year they installed new smart locks on a 2-3 year old building and a gaudy backsplash and subsequently raised the rent $90/month for a 1-bed unit. As we are in a pandemic and thats a crazy increase, I tried negotiating. The property manager said the billing department wasnt willing to be flexible, because the units were originally underpriced to fill quickly. Im not the first tenant of my apartment and the unit is now priced the same as far more luxurious complexes in the area and even downtown Pittsburgh. They shut down all amenities/the clubhouse during the pandemic, but were ok with contractors coming in and out of the units not wearing any masks (while many people were working from home), very hypocritical.I can hear my neighbors moving around and people talking in the hallways, usually my neighbors are respectful, but Id expect a new luxury building to be built better. The appliances are decent and Amana brands, but I did a little research and they are all among the lowest priced options at Lowe’s, certainly not luxury. The dishwasher is extremely loud, I can’t run it when I’m working from home or trying to watch TV, etc. The carpeting is really thin and cheap, so Im constantly stepping on the nails at the edges of the carpeting, I submitted several maintenance requests about this when I moved in and they came and claimed to fix them, but Im still getting poked by the nails regularly. The pool is smaller than other local apartments, but nice when its open, but they didnt hire a pool attendant this summer, so it was only open during my work hours… Theres also a grill by the pool, which is only open during pool hours, making it essentially un-usable, seems silly to have an amenity like that inside the pool where it can hardly be used. The value of a place like this, is in the amenities, and theyve been un-usable for most of the time Ive lived here.During the first few months of the pandemic, Morgan Properties came out with a Morgan Cares program where if we paid our rent on time they would donate $5 to either a hospital or food bank. While thats a nice gesture, I was furloughed from my job and they didnt care about that or offer any kind of discount for closing the amenities. The staff dont understand that the amenities are included in the rent I pay, for a regular apartment without a nice clubhouse, fancy gym and pool, Id pay at least $100 less in rent. Seems like Morgan Properties only cares about lining their pockets and donating enough to get a tax break, not about their residents. I was so excited about moving here and settling in into my apartment for the next 5 years or so, but now just a year later I cant wait to move out and never live in any Morgan Properties complexes again. They don’t do a good job of plowing and clearing the parking lot of snow/ice. The hill gets very dicey anytime there’s snow and especially after dark when it’s wet - everything freezes. They have only been plowing 1.5 lanes lately, so trying to pass other drivers (on a hill…) is a pain and a lot of people go tearing through the lot. For a luxury building, they could plow the empty parking spots during the day when cars are out, too.

Just moved into my second unit at PW205. The move in and move out process are very easy. Shiane, Alicia, and Christian are always super responsive and helpful for any issues that pop up. Customer service at this complex is unmatched compared to other local apartments I have stayed at. It is a very nice community at a convenient location near 376/79 and across from Settler’s Ridge.

Summary: The word “luxury” is loosely used. Over-priced, just OK.Cons:- Noise from freeway is unbearable (non-stop). Forget opening windows or balcony sliding door to get fresh air. Forget about a restful and peaceful night sleep.- Walls are paper thin and floor is apparently made out of pressed cardboard.- All balconies facing north have the cemetery view. No curtains provided.- Not really pet oriented. Very little green spaces. Small grass patches here and there.- All appliances are electric including heating. Expect to pay high cost for electricity.- Agitator style washer wears clothes prematurely.- Hot water runs out rather quickly.- Building carpets are stained and smell. Vacuumed but never washed.- If signing a 3-month lease, expect to pay an additional $200 per month on top of normal rate.- High monthly pet fee ($40 dog /$30 Cat) in addition to non-refundable $250 pet fee.- Charge of $125 for carpet cleaning upon leaving directly deducted from deposit (you have the choice to pay yourself).Pros:- Leasing office personnel is friendly and responds promptly- Close to Settler’s Park- Short drive to the city- Offer short term lease (3-month)- Can pay with credit card- Ample parking space- Fairly new construction (not luxury)- Supermarket 6 minutes away- Veterinarian 5 minutes away- Gas station 2 minutes away- Airport 10 minutes away

I absolutely love this place. Pool, gym, garage option, nice new affordable living space with balcony, and settlers cabin park is basically in the back yard. It really doesnt get much better than this.

Park West was exactly what I was looking for. Close enough to the city to attend events yet far enough away from the noise to have peace and quiet. This package is by far the best bang for your buck in the Pittsburgh area. Spacious apartments for a fair price with all brand new amenities and appliances! I was the first to live in my apartment and I am sad to leave! 10/10 recommend for young professionals in the area. Management is professional & easy going. They make sure you receive anything you need in a timely manner. They also host many events for the residents. Taco & margarita night, popcorn & pretzel day etc. Great ideas from a young and energetic staff. I enjoyed my stay here!

Park West is exactly what I sought when I moved here, from Houston, Texas. Close enough to the city to Uber in or venture in as needed, but away from the noise to enjoy serenity. Having moved here in February and having a number of colleagues who have also moved here from Texas, Maryland, abroad, etc. we like this venue. Very modern decor, friendly professionals in the leasing office and a very SAFE complex. Brand new amenities and appliances! Also conveniently located near shopping plaza and other places to go to in Robinson Township. Management is professional; responsive and caring. They make sure you receive anything you need in a timely manner. They also host many events for the residents. I plan on being here as long as I am in Pittsburgh and I know a number of my colleagues like Park West as well. 10/10 recommendation for professionals / families in the area.

Update as of 6/30/20: I removed a star from my original rating. I received my security deposit back with two frivolous charges. Being fair, the charges only total to $50. One was for a bedroom wall “staining” which was a scuff from a desk chair that I removed previously with a Magic Eraser. The second charge was for an area on the wall in the living room where a picture was hung and left a mark in the drywall. While I understand charges are incurred by the landlord to rent the unit again, I have never been charged for such minor things in previous rental properties that I have lived in. The landlord should expect “normal wear and tear” of their units and have a threshold so tenants aren’t “nickel and dimed” for such minor occurrences. Again - this has not been my experience at other rental properties. My other comments still stand, however be advised that upon your move out, you may see trivial charges.Original Review:Overall, we enjoyed our short year at Park West. We vacated due to some life changes that are taking us out of Pittsburgh. We were the first to live in our 3 bed, 2 bath unit. The unit was very spacious. We also took advantage of the offered garage parking and storage rental. Garage parking was a huge draw for us, and it was only an additional $50 per month. Location wise, you really cannot beat it. You are basically in the same distance from Downtown to the east and the Airport to the west. Robinson shopping is all minutes away. While the Parkway West traffic can be some of the worst in Pittsburgh, there are alternate routes, which is great. Access to 79 is also seconds away. Amenity wise, you have the gym, a beautiful common area, the pool, a fire-pit, and grills. My only “con” with our unit itself was that we were on the third floor of a 4-floor building. Generally, this complex is very quiet. I’m not sure if it was the construction of the building or the tenants above us specifically, but daily we had a decent amount of thumping and thudding from the unit above us. More often than not, it was hard to ignore. We mentioned it to the office staff and they did try to remedy the situation. It seemed to settle down for a bit, but unfortunately it continued. Again, to be fair, I’m not sure if it’s just the construction of the building or the specific tenants above us. If you find yourself in a top floor unit, however, I can’t really come up with any cons! That leads me to my next point – the office staff. Although Park West was acquired by Morgan Properties during our tenancy, the office staff did not change. Alicia, Shiane, and Christian were always so pleasant to interact with. I will genuinely miss them! With the transition to Morgan Properties, our option to renew included an increase of $76 additional per month. They were also planning to individually bill for water and sewer based on allocation method – during our tenancy, this was a flat rate. There will also be a $10 charge for trash going forward. I really can’t comment on this further, given it didn’t impact us.If you’re looking for a quality apartment just west of Downtown, consider Park West!

I’ve lived here for a year already and I love it! Having a gym and pool a few steps away is awesome. So close to everything in Robinson too.
