I will never give this office (or likely the company) my business again, and I do NOT recommend it to anyone. Having said that, I can fully recommend the excellent work ethic shown by a young African-American gentleman named Andre, which contrasts completely with the overall service at this store. Kay at check-out did a good job and was very nice, but those two positive experiences are not enough to salvage how awful my experience was, predominantly due to a bald gentleman with glasses named Ken. I rarely ever write negative reviews, and save them for the worst experiences like I had here. I dont want other people going through what I did here.Time:The first reason I do not recommend this business (or Fox Car Rental and Advantage who they share the office space with) is because they were significantly more crowded and slow for the job. Ive waited 15 minutes on average for car rentals (including in a neighboring office at that same rental center), and had no issues whatsoever. I did not personally book this company as I typically avoid poorly reviewed companies Im not familiar with (last time I make this mistake). If youre interested in waiting 2+ hours (what I personally waited, longer for Fox Car Rentals) to save a few dollars on an already cheap product, then I suppose you might still be interested. However, I do not think saving ~15% on a small $45 purchase justifies waiting 800% longer.Quality/Customer Service:The quality and customer service I received by the first employee I saw, Ken, completely ruined any hope of this slow experience panning out for me. During my 2 hour wait, all employees except Andre decided to take a 25+ minute break while the line was particularly backed up and frustrated (due to overbooking and very slow service). I attached photos for proof, which numerous other customers also took as the consensus was that it was very poor quality service. Most of us were upset and on the same page about everything.Andre was not in my pictures, as he took a brief bathroom break then. Long breaks should be done in sequence to allow for adequate work flow and customer service. Andre was the only one who stayed to help us. When I arrived to the counter at Kens station, I was frustrated, and shared that frustration and asked to avoid any extended warranties or other sales pitches so I could be on my way. Ken began arguing with me, saying mean things to me, and treated me absolutely horribly. I felt very uncomfortable, and can say with certainty that he gave the worst customer service Ive ever had.Ken tried unsuccessfully to reconcile later after showing some sign of customer service potential (helping me with my defective car), but it failed because he refused to take any constructive criticism or listen when I briefly tried talking to him. He ended my awful experience by being rude to me one final time. That was a dreadful way to start my important business trip, and for all these reasons, I will never be giving EZ Rent-A-Car Phoenix (or any of the bad companies in that office mentioned in this review) my business or recommendation again.
The slowest car rental experience Ive ever been through. Slow computer systems and inadequate staffing made this a nightmare. 40 minutes to get through the line and get my car. This company also required a large deposit for the rental, which was not something Ive had done at other rental companies. Vehicle return was quick and smooth so that was a bonus.I am quite suspicious of a lot of these 5 star reviews. Most of them have only reviewed one business ever and it is this one. Seems like the business is using fake reviews to fluff their ratings. In my opinion, it is not worth the headache of dealing with this company to save a few bucks on a rental
I would never recommend this company too anyone. If you do rent from them make sure you read everything. I explicitly stated I wanted no insurance for my rental vehicle, and when we were finishing the paperwork it was stuck in there anyway. I spent my whole vacation fighting with them to remove the charges. I was instructed by the 800 number to make sure before I turned the back in to have the charges removed. I spoke to the manager Jay Milton, who was the rudest person I have ever met. He basically told me that he wasn’t refunding my money period, and turned and walked away. He didn’t care what corporate said. Be forewarned, NEVER RENT FROM THEM!!!! Unless you don’t mind being scammed.
Avoid at all costs---We had the worst car rental experience of our life at this location.After a reasonably smooth car assignment & checkout late at night - we had a good nights rest at an airport hotel and starting driving early am.As soon as we started driving (about 5 miles from this rental location) - heavy rain started and we discovered the window wipers wouldnt work - they were making a horrible grinding noise and the motor was not able to move the wiper arms. We were literally stranded in the middle of the highway.Bad - but it happens. Here is where the terrible CS started.We called the number on our rental forms - which goes to a central call centre. They were cordial and transferred us to the rental location. Now the horror starts. The rental location was rude, unwilling to help and borderline abusive. First they said we should just drive on. With my family in the car including a young child - I was not going to do this. I explained that this was dangerous AND illegal. When I asked about a tow or a replacement car and they kept humming and hawing and then insisted that a tow would take 8-10 hours (even though we were 5 miles away).After several hours of being stranded in the middle of a very busy highway with rain pouring down - the heavens took mercy and there was a 10 minute break in the rain. I decided to drive back during the break and returned the car.Besides the break down - it was the horrible CS and callous & abusive attitude of the attendant that stood out. I have never dealt with such a rude customer service person. Horrible!Avoid at all costs.
DO NOT... I repeat... DO NOT rent from this scamming rental car place! I rented a mid size car for $21 a day for 2 days and ended up getting charged over $200. They said I signed and authorized for certain charges that I know FOR A FACT I didn’t sign or authorize. And when I called to speak with a supervisor, she was rude. I will NEVER rent from this again. I would rather walk or take a bus. They are scamming people and it’s ridiculous!
A.K.A. Bait and Switch Rentals and Renter BewareUnlimited miles on your reservation may mean nothing! At the pickup counter, I was kindly informed that customers with in-state licenses DO NOT GET what the reservation says, unless they cough up another $20 per day, which in my case meant a whopping 40% extra! Steer clear of these swindlers!
Great service, super friendly and easy—and best of all the agent didnt make a fuss when I presented my own insurance from the get go or try to convince me that I should use theirs. Very easy and the car is new and excellent. Would recommend!
Recently I had to extend my stay in AZ because my mother died and this was not the original intent for the visit. Jason was very helpful in getting the arrangement for the extension on my contract. I might add the Toyota Camry is a wonderful vehicle and I am seriously considering on leasing on of these vehicles.
Great experience at Phoenix airport. Really nice counter people, easy check-in and check-out, clean car. Ive rented at other agencies at the same airport and this was the best so far.
I waited 30+ minutes to pick up my car. I arrived at 6pm at PHX airport. There were only two people helping at the service desk. The third person kept stepping out for something. The person who received my car when I returned it said I would get an email receipt. Its been three days since the return and still no email receipt. The people were friendly and helpful. Rental price beat all the others. Car worked fine but required diesel fuel.
Awesome customer service! Vehicle was clean and efficient. Besides the long wait line, the check out process was easy. Great price as well. I will most definitely rent from this company again.

I love this place i will rent a car from here anytime when traveling.I had the best customer service that i have revived in a long time. I was a little annoyed by the long lines and wait times but the lady at the desk made it all better. I had options to choose from not 3 but 10. And my deposit came back within a day, i also received my emailed receipt that was promise to me. Diffidently a return customer.
Great price for a weekly rental, even got upgrade at no extra cost. Counter easy to find. Had full compliment of agents on duty. Very friendly and courteous personal at counter and at pick up desk. Nice clean car. Check them out for sur.
Loved my car through them, it didn’t have floor mats or I would have given them a 5. They reimbursed my deposit almost immediately. I took pictures and made note of everything at pick up and drop off. Friendly service

I was a little worried about using a company I had never heard of. The initial line for rental was long and a bit slow, but the staff was very nice and the car was great - newer model and very gas efficient. I will definitely rent again from this company!!
Rented a car 6/14-6/22 at Phoenix. Was given a damage form already filled out and told to bring it back up if I found damage on the vehicle other than what was listed. No other damage was noted so I left the rental garage. Drive the car for a week and put on about 1000 miles. Did a lot of sight seeing and and different state and national parks. Upon returning the car to the garage I have it a once over. Didn’t notice any problems with the car or damage. The gentleman who scanned it in and checked it said I was good to go and a final receipt would be emailed to me. I asked if I had to fill out a final damage form to show everything was ok and was told no everything was fine. Like an idiot I took his word and left. Ten days later I get a claim letter in the mail saying there is a crack on the windshield that’s about halfway across. Now if I actually did damage the car I’d pay for it no problem and I’m pretty sure I would notice a crack on the windshield. Regardless I’m still getting blamed for this. My advice for you is chose another company to rent from. Take videos and pictures before and after you return your car to the garage. And get some type of damage form filled out showing there is or is not any damage after you leave.
Value was good, the wait sucked, we stood in line over 2hrs. Reservations made 1week ahead. They have 5 kiosks to check in only 3 were staffed. Praise to the 3 who were working. The line averaged 30 40 customers during are wait. Piss poor management if they booked this many rentals at least bring staff to take care of customers. This is our first and last time we use E-Z Rent.

This is the shadiest place I have ever rented a car from and I have been to Mexico and all over the world. This place charged us $50 additional for what they called FPO which they told us was to bring the car back fully refuel. They never warned us about that and I rented on line at Travelocity so everything should have been taken care of. They also charged us about $50 dollars in taxes. That were never listed on Travelocity. What started out as a $168 rental for three days ended up being $315.Rent from this place if you want to get screwed.
Are you kidding me! Why do I see most of the RESPONSE FROM THE OWNER addressed only to the positive reviews? I own a company and this blows my mind!!! It sounds like there is a real problem with operations, I would think its time for the owner to quit patting themselves on the back and address the issues. Im looking to rent a car, and have no intentions of doing so with a company that has these kind of issues and think it acceptable. Why does the Customer need to reach out to someone else. I would think if someone has been wronged, its your responsibility to reach out to them. (if you have any desire to keep them as a customer, or make it right... its how we, and most all other companies are ran)
The car was a new Camry, check in and out was relatively quick, but they will overcharge you on fuel and services if you let them. They are a shady outfit. Their hustle is to offer to fuel the car at a reduced rate, but dont tell you that youre paying for a full tank even if you dont use it.
Do NOT rent from this company! Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced! When calling into corporate after getting a flat tire, it took 3 times before I finally got someone who could speak understandable English. Each representative gave me a different solution. Buy a tire and we will reimburse you, we can send a tow truck that you pay for, we can drive you a spare tire, come back and get a new car. They would not transfer us to the local “branch” which has no phone number listed. Finally we solved the problem ourselves in the 110 degree Arizona heat after waiting for their help for 2 hours that never came. Ruined our day trip! When returning our car the manager gave no solution, no customer service, and did not re pay us for the purchase of the tire. Quoting Manager Jay from the Phoenix airport location verbatim “Well that sucks.”
At the Phoenix airport all rentals are picked up at a central spot fed by shuttle bus. We were tenth in line but, with only two agents, in took 30 minutes to get served. By the time we got our car, there were 30 people in that same line. Not healthy for the workers. everything else about our experience was good. Attentive and informed agents, good car, turn in was efficient.
Overall a good experience. vehicle was in excellent condition and very clean. The only thing I didnt like (but I dont know if its a standard practice) is that on the website it was listed as unlimited miles but when I showed up to the front desk the fine print excluded local renters from unlimited mileage. I rented the vehicle to travel from Phoenix to California and had to purchase an additional mileage package at $20 per day to really include unlimited mileage.

Worst company ever!!! Booked my car rental online with unlimited mileage, walked up to the counter to get my car was told I have to pay $20 extra per day for unlimited mileage. Kenny was the guy helping us very rude and nasty we tried to reason with him and was just getting ruder and ruder. Would never ever rent from them again and i advice stay away pay the extra few dollars but go with a better company!!! Kenny is a fraud!!!
I was quoted $33 a day, unlimited mileage & $40 for full gas tank + tax, Nothing else.This rental company claims theres no hidden fees !I originally rented it for 4 days.I returned the rental 2 days Early.I was STILL charged a late fee cuz I returned the rental 2 hours after the time I originally pick up the car of $34 !! Plus they charged me $50 & not the $33 a day I was quoted !! After getting to the return I was given the bill that showed I was getting charged $50 a day and at that time its too late & you cant dispute the charges !!DONT EVER USE THIS COMPANY....
A friend, who was visiting the Phoenix area, rented a vehicle from EZ at a competitive rate. So I got a rate online from their website and was told that I had to go to Sky Harbor to reserve a car which was ok but not terribly convenient. I have rented quite a few cars so you could imagine my shock and dismay when I was told at the counter that I would have to purchase a airline ticket in order to rent a vehicle! Wish website would have mentioned this important detail.
If you want to know that your reservation will actually ensure that a rental car will be ready for you when you arrive, then go with another company. They won me over with their cheap pricing, but at midnight they were leaving myself and others stranded, saying they had no cars available. All of us waiting had reservations. Fortunately, another rental was returned and I got a car that night, but others were left with zero options in the middle of the night. The staff did what they could and they were scrambling to try and deal with the situation, but it was pretty obvious that this happens there all the time, and there is nothing they really can do when there are no cars on the lot. Save yourself the stress and go somewhere else.
These guys are straight up crooks. They put a low price on there website then overcharge you in person. Bait and switch at its finest. Their cars are dirty. You are seriously better off doing anything else to get around, I would rather hitchhike across Arizona than use these guys again

Also at the phx airport they charge you for mileage which is in the small print which you are essentially a hostage to once you are already booked and at their desk... Pay 5-10 bucks more and go elsewhere and avoid this scam type rental company...Nothing worse than starting a vacation out in disappointment and negative energy.. Also, they hire from the bottom of the barrel. So dont expect any customer service..

This is a cat rental company inside a dark fumey parking garage, circumstances are what they are here. My experience was good since the agent had been talkative and knowledgeable about this company. Thank you again for the great customer service.

E-Z Rent-A-Car did a great job. All of the E-Z personnel were helpful, friendly, and very courteous. They took time to explain everything in detail and patiently and thoroughly answered all of our questions. E-Z made our car rental experience very pleasant and very very easy.
Long wait in line! $105 net extra charge for a second driver for the rental period! I have never experienced such a big charge however I usually rent from the big three. Car was nice and clean.
If I could give a 0 I would. This was the worse rental experience ever quite weird actually. I am a Avis preferred renter, and I have had great experiences with Avis, Hertz, and Enterprise in the past. My husband and I were approached prior to going to the counter by a weird lady who started off with, I saw you come in and didnt fly in so you must be local. She proceeded to ask where we were going, then proceeded with telling us we would not have unlimited miles and that the internet was false advertisement and gave us incorrect information. Mind you we waited in line 20 minutes to pick up our reserved vehicle until approached by the weird employee. We were paying with our Capital One credit card, they assumed we had a debit card, which was distasteful. Bottom line we were profiled from the moment we walked in. I wonder if I was wearing my suit today and not casuals, as I am on vacation, had it been different. My husband and I cancelled our reservation and went to Hertz. I would never attempt to rent a car here last minute or not, nor will I recommend this company to anyone. Horrible and unprofessional.
Rented a car from this company and was ripped off. We were told that we will just pay 124.90 for 6 days and ended up paying a total of 432.24. Staff told us that we will get our refund back in 21 days. Waited and called customer service and was told that we didn’t make any deposit and we are not entitled for any refund. Customer service was so rude and obnoxious saying that we should have read the invoice before we signed. We have rented cars at different car companies and never had this kind of problem. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY.. If you do CONSIDER YOURSELF A LOSER COZ THIS COMPANY WILL TOTALLY SCREW YOU WITHOUT YOU KNOWING IT. You’ll just find out that when all your money is taken and present you with an invoice with a lot of BS THAT DETAILS THEIR CHARGES after the fact. I don’t even want to rate this company. They don’t deserve anything!!!
This place is cheap, but very shady. Rented the car at Denver Airport. A nice clean vehicle. But they did not offer me the Toll Package. The only freeway out of the airport is a tollway. They KNEW I was going to hit a tollway. When I got back I tried to pay the toll on line. NOPE! I called EZ, they are going to charge me $25 per day (2 days) AND the tolls. It was a setup! They gave me the run around and I never could talk to a manager.
I returned the car on time .no body was there .i got email I need to pay 75dollers for overtime fee so I called the customer service .they can’t find the car .car is missing .you need to watch security camera and you need to apologize to me .why nobody was working ?it was not early in the morning or late at night ?it was almost noon.(Phx airport)

My family has used EZ for years when traveling. Whether we are in Florida or Arizona we always have a great experience. The person to person experience is genuinely awesome. The folks behind the kiosk are helpful and polite.
Kind of a long wait to be served, but it went smoothly once I made it clear I wanted no additional coverages. Agent was very cordial.
Most people are nice enough. Inspection, rental cost and answers I got were a bit inconsistent. Call center likely not US based and price cost varies a lot. Neat enough vehicles though.
Rented through Expedia and was extremely nervous after reading the reviews. I arrived and there was a short line but it went quickly and the staff apologized for the wait. I paid for a small car and was upgraded to a SUV for free, which was very clean and no damage. The staff was extremely friendly. I recieved my deposit the day after I returned my rental. Im happy with my whole experience with them and Im glad I didnt switch companies.
This was a truly terrible experience. We had arrived on time and prepared for our pre-paid reservation (which we had secured for weeks) to be told by the agent that there were no cars available. This was at 11 PM and a line of people were waiting. We waited nearly an hour- others waited close to 2 hours- to eventually be informed that they “found a car” for us. They were unwilling to provide further explanation or accommodate this distastrous situation by discounting our reservation. All guests were prepared and this agency was not. This is especially frustrating as we only received our car around 11:55 PM, and are being charged for three days despite not being on the road until after 12 AM.

The prices were great—but the customer service was awful! The hidden fees, broken payment machine, unexplained documents, unorganized parking stalls, and no one to help us in the garage are just a few things we dealt with today. Lesson learned: pay a few dollars more to the “big guys” so that you feel like you’re being taken care of and shown some respect.
AWFUL. 2.5 hour wait in line with a reservation. Quoted 166$, get there and was charged almost 600$. 200$ I should get back at return as deposit, but still-NEARLY TRIPLE what I was quoted at my reservation. I expected some fees and taxes but this was excessive and in my opinion, intentionally misleading. They make you take insurance on the car, it isn’t included, and it costs what the car costs daily plus a few bucks!! 22 for the car and 28 for the damned insurance, daily!! Plus all the taxes and fees, Phoenix must make a killing on people trying to see their city with all of those.
I prepaid for a rental car at E-Z through Priceline. When I arrived to start my vacation last week they informed me that they didn’t actually have a car for me. Absolutely no cars available and no offer to find me a car at another company. I had to go nearby and get a car for 2x the rate I had prepaid for. Sounds like they haven’t figured out how to count the number of cars they have and the number of reservations. Left a sour note to begin my vacation. I won’t ever consider E-Z again- I’d rather spend a little extra $$ for a competent company and smooth vacation.
Great Deal. Expect long wait to pick up the car. EZ was the most affordable car rental by a large margin, The counter personnel were super and drop off, as well. The car was new and clean. We walked past the counter several times, because the ADVANTAGE symbol overshadowded the EZ symbol. Other than the 40+ minute wait to get the keys and sign the docs it was a super experience.
ABSOLUTELY DO NO RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!! I HAD A PREPAID CONTRACT . AFTER THE CAR WAS RETURNED, GASSED AND UNDAMAGED, MY CARD WAS CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL $253 BY THIS COMPANY. I TRIED CALLING AND EMAILING THIS COMPANY TO NO AVAIL. IVE DISPUTED THIS WITH MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY TO HAVE THIS CHARGE REMOVED. PLEASE BEWARE AND DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY.
Awful customer service. Steve, our check in agent, was both rude and insulting. Told me we were assigned a Jeep Liberty and would not be able to run the air conditioning in the desert heat and that the car wouldnt be able to handle driving in the mountains at all. That we should upgrade for another $80. Said no thanks, he scoffed and rolled his eyes. Asked if we wanted to have our car filled upon return and I said no, we will bring it back full as we usually do. Told us their price was $2.09 and that we would be paying 2.69 in Phoenix. I still declined to which there was more eye rolling and scoffing. Took over 45 minutes to finally get keys to a car I booked and paid in full 2 months ago after being hassled about upgrading. Finally get the keys and paperwork. I was assigned a Hyundai Tucson (not a Jeep Liberty as I was told). First gas station passes out of the airport was priced at $2.11. Stay away from this company if they allow their employees to hassle their customers in such a way.
I am writing this review while still in line waiting to talk to an agent. I have been in line for 30 minutes and at the rate things are progressing, I am guessing I still have 20-30 minutes before I even start my rental process. Advantage and fox rental are the same. All other car rental places here have no line.
Joe was amazing, we had an issue with a slow leak in the front tire and had to bring the car back. I expect a hard fight and some negotiation.... None was had, Joe understood and got us squared away in a timely fashion.
After waiting in a medium length line at the airport kiosk, the transactions to rent the car we reserved and actually drive it away went fairly quickly. We got the car we wanted and are happy about it. Kudos to E-Z Rent-a-Car.
I am appalled at the low level of professionalism and service we received at EZ Rentals Arizona. After waiting an hour in line, with zero explanation, we were told we couldnt receive our car because they were out of mini vans. I tried to get an explanation as to how that could happen and was told. They wouldnt put a tarp over our car and save it just because we made a reservation. Zero stars for this janky operation.
Made a reservation 4 months in advance. Day of pick up, they are unable to fufill my reservation because they ran out of vehicles. Myself and many other customers with prepaid reservations were made to wait in line for an hour before this became clear. The staff were not forthcoming about this situation. They also were unable to explain why our reservations did not hold a number of cars for us. They could not tell us how many cars were expected to become available later in the day. The staff were unable to process cancelations and refunds saying we had to do it through the third party reservation sites (I booked through holiday cars and the holidays cars representative said I needed to cancel and get a refund through EZ rental cars... Still working on getting a refund...). Seems like a poorly organized and poorly run business. I was able to get a same day rental car through Alamo at the same price as I was quoted from EZ rental cars in 10 minutes with excellent service. I will not be using EZ rental cars and will tell people to avoid it.
I made a reservation in July to pick up a mini van on 9/29/2017. When I got to EZ rental at 730AM, they told me they had no cars including mini vans available. I would have to come back within 4 hours. My reservation was supposed to picked up at 8AM. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! They did try to get me to rent an SUV for 20 dollars more a day. I would highly recommend using another company. PLEASE REMEMBER THEY ARE ASSOCIATED WITH ADVANTAGE RENTAL.
If youre standing in line today, cancel your reservation and go to any rental place but ez, advantage or fox . Pay a little more. The line is very slow. Have been waiting almost an hour and still a dozen people in front. I would rate them a zero if possible. Worst I have ever seen for rental cars.
Note to self to never use this company again. Apparently they regularly over book (so said the other rental companies). So, they left me and about 10 other people stranded at 12:45am in the airport parking lot. We all had reservations and the gal said, Sorry, we are out of cars. Good luck. And there you have it. No assistance in securing vehicles from other firms. Just nothing. It strikes of gross incompetence in 2019 to not know how to use technology to make accurate reservations. Or maybe its instead willful intention to deceive...to allow people to reserve when they know they cant deliver to them all. This company should be investigated by the FBI for fraud. Oh, man; Im glad I read these previous reviews before I drove in to get my rental.This is obviously intentional fraud that the company repeatedly entices customers with the claim of unlimited milage, only to say its not unlimited after the customer gets the car. Unlike the other angry reviews, I called ahead the night before to learn this scam is real. Ive attached the screen shot of my email reservation confirmation saying unlimited mileage.I didnt let their staff upset me. I told them Im not playing along with their runaround to cancel the reservation. I just called my credit card company and disputed the charge. I have the proof, both in my reservation confirmation document and the history of customer reviews here, that this business attempted to defraud me as it has onto others before me. Now, I just gotta get another rental from a credible business and Im back on track.
Unlimited miles is false advertisement! Its only a 250 mile limit when I needed more. Bait and switch
Reasonably decent experience. Different from previous experiences where I waited 40 minutes. Overall, quite satisfied.
Friendly people. Great vehicles. Got the entire package including the return empty option but was charged for gas anyway. Hence 4 stars.
A wait of over two hours! We were told at desk that many people make their reservation while standing in line? Why would ANYONE do that, only to wait 2 hours? The clerk was nice, but his explanation for the wait was nonsensical! Horrible way to run a company! Do not reserve in advance, just walk into the rental car center. If you see a line that long at EZ Rent A Car/Advantage, keep walking!
Do yourself a favor and rent a car from any other company. Not only did they deny our reservation quote from Expedia, but they hit us with hidden charges. Their staff misinformed us, and their customer service employees hang up on you instead of helping you further. WORST experience.
I had a little trouble identifying the counter for E-Z Rent-A-Car at the car rental center at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, but once I discovered that it was the Advantage counter, my rental experience was easy. I was satisfied with the experience.
TOTAL SCAM. run away. Great price advertised online was triple after return with taxes and fuel fees despite paying for full tank of gas. Worst customer service. Told me my trip would take a whole tank of gas when it only took 1/3. And it was to a known location. and I got ripped off. Mysterious fees and they couldnt explain them. Guy could not explain my high bill to me. Also tried to swap the Camry I paid for for a Kia. Not the same. I will never rent from them again.
Worst rent-a-car ever. Never rent from them.1. They could not give us the vehicle they promised.2. There were some hidden charges. They charged $20 per day when we said we have plan to go out of state.3. When they handed the vehicle to us, the gas was a little more than half, but later when we were returning the vehicle, they told us we need to return full-tank.4. The staffs are rude.
DONT DO IT!! GO TO ANOTHER RENTAL CAR COMPANY!! The guy at the desk when we rented our car told us the company would hold a $200 deposit and return it at end of stay. It’s been two months, I have called multiple times, I keep getting different stories of why my deposit hasn’t been returned. Every time I ask to speak to a manager the employee either hangs up on me or tells me no manager is available. YOURE GOING TO GET YOUR DEPOSIT STOLEN!! THIS IS SOME THIRD WOLRD BUSINESS ETHICS!!
This was the worst rental experience of my life. I waited in line for 20 min just to get to the agent. He then informed me that my car was just returned and being cleaned and would be an extra 10 minutes. I went to the car pick up, and they didnt know anything about my car or when it would be there. I ended up waiting an extra 40 minutes for the car, and only got it by complaining. I will never rent a car from this company again.
Nothing special, felt expensive but maybe thats just car rentals in general. Car was fine.
45 min wait to get my rental car. Annoying upselling attempts. BEWARE: Return process was the worst I have ever seen in 30 years of car rentals. I would have missed my flight if I wasnt staying in the city longer. Literally ONE attendant for a busy Sun night. Waited almost an hour to get my car checked in. EVERY single person was being harassed by the attendant. Gas tank wasnt overfull, there was a dent that was there before, they didnt have paperwork printed, etc. Bad practices & staffing shortages need to be fixed .
After wating in line up for 1,5 hours becasue they only have 2 peopl at the counter, I purchased insurance for 15 a day and they guy gave me a electronic machine to sign without letting me see the contract, then I find out they charge 32% tax on top of it .. don’t trust them.. such a scam

My husband and I rented a car from EZ Rental in Phoenix, Arizona. We were there for his grandmothers funeral which was the same afternoon of our arrival. When we arrived, they said our car would be ready into 10 minutes due to being washed. We headed to the garage for our short wait and then pick up the car. The line began to fill down at the garage and cars were given to people who had arrived after we were. Soon, there was a line of 15 renters who had been promised their car in 10 minutes from the wash. Multiple people were given cars randomly and some cars that had been assigned were then given to other renters in front of the people who had reserved the car. We waited TWO HOURS in the hot parking garage before being given a car, with no sign of the line getting any shorter as more and more people arrived to get cars that were not there. The manager at the time, Hassan, insisted that it was not their fault and continued to make bad decisions about handing out the cars as they arrived. The guy at the desk, Tailey, was trying to do his best but the entire system was clearly broken. We were late to the funeral. We were not fairly compensated for the logistical and emotional strain we experienced. The discount amounted to one day of travel for a four day trip.
I went to EZs location at PHX with my rental contract and ID one morning and hope their people can check with the car I returned a day ago, for two remotes that I left in the returned car.However, the young lady heard that I came for two remotes that she first laughed and then said no. She actually checked my ID and then said no because new rule requires that I need to to go Advantage website to submit lost and found instead and wait no more than 30 days!I asked her to check with her manager because I am here for the lost items and I have everything they need to check the car or the lost &found box. If she cant help with it, please check with her manager. No. She said that her manager has no time for this and her manager will say the same thing!. The person who received my car on the day of return said that he saw remotes in the car and he asked two remotes, right? Yes! right!He asked me to bring ID to the booth and they will give them back to me. But they did not return them back to me !I went to the front office where full of people. One person called the manager, and the manager ask me to go online and fill a form, because I personally went for lost & found is not enough! Thats the new rule for lost & found!I request on Advantage website because she told me to and also because EZ rental lost & found cant accessible online. I also request lost found on EZ phone line. It phone line is robotic system and I need to speak out all information but after done, no confirmation email comes to me.After online requested submitted, I received reply immediately that not found my items! Did they just trash them yesterday?None response! They either trash my remotes or keep them for themselves! Gross!
Giving one star is being generous. Our experience with this company was the worst in my entire adult life. We were told our reservation was cancelled because our flight got in 30 mins later than expected. Then they wouldn’t haven’t a car ready for 15 mins and after an hour of waiting I cancelled our rental and went through Alamo and got our rental $100 cheaper for the SAME THING. Also didn’t have to pay a deposit. Do yourself a favor and rent with ANYONE else.
Stood in line for 2 1/2 hrs. Called customer service while waiting guy on phone gave me a complaint number said give number to service writer. Who said we didnt overbook you were stupid enough to wait in the line instead of going to any of the other companies to rent a car. So no discount and the so called upgrade Wasnt! Anthony was the agent who also said he made more money cause everyone he serviced was $10 so as long as we stand and wait they didnt overbook. So save your self the stress..... DO NOT USE EZ!! I WILL BE CALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE AGAIN AND SPEAKING TO THE MANAGER ABOUT ANTHONY! Update Anthony wasnt even his name.. lie about that and trying to get me the manager. Whom I found myself after going up and down to garage 3X. So I hope that Diamond AKA Cubic Zerconian is looking for a new job away from customer service.. if not Please avoid this Agent.. lets no let him make another dime off the customers he is so rude and obnoxious too.
Thanks Ken for saving the day and accommodating a last minute rental after the rental car company right next to you had a three hour line to get a car even with a reservation. You truly saved the day!!
The EZ rental car centre at Phoenix airport did not provide the car for which I have made the reservation two weeks back. Around 50 people were told they were out of car after waiting in the queue for half an hour during the night time. I had to run back and forth to other rental car companies around 11:30 pm to find another car. They did not fullfill the reservation and very irresponsible for not fulfilling the reservation. I have to pay more as they did not fulfill their reservation. I will never book with EZ rental car again in my lifetime and will suggest my friends to book with other rental car companies to be safe in the future.
Renting a car from E-Z rental is just wasting money and time. Got the location and they had nor car, wasted my two hours. Customer service team and especially the manger is so impolite and unorganized. Have many hidden charges.Please dont waste your time and money.
Horrible rental company-if I could give zero stars I would!We picked up our car at the airport at 11pm, the woman helping us was extremely rude. She gave a car that hadnt been cleaned and smelled like smoke( we asked for non smoking). She gave us a new car( a mini van), not what we ordered. Not only was that car not that clean, there was a huge dent in the side and a small crack in the windshield. Both we noted as we drove out of the garage. We had a 2 hour drive to Sedona. During the week we used the car there was a very bad snowstorm and this caused the crack to spread across the window. When we called customer service, we spoke with another rude person we filed a report and then we were told to drive the car 2 hours back to get a new one. ( Not happening, Im on vacation) We were told they would call us back, which they did not. Upon returning the car with a full tank of gas, the woman at airport drop off (Laura) was extremely rude. We have tried numerous times to call and email and have not received a response at all. Not only will I never recommend them to anyone I know, I would never recommend them to my worst enemy! Worst customer service I have ever received.
These folks are pretty good, great customer service.. EZ pickup and EZ drop off. Car was very clean and operated very well..Mitsubishi Highlander was a good choice. I will definitely be using E-Z Rent-A-Car again.
E-z is a scam. The fees when you drop off your car will be triple what you were quoted. Do not use them, it is a SCAM!!!
Worst car rental experience EVER. Didnt have a compact car wanted to upcharge for a midsize. Told me things happen in the travel industry...lost luggage, hotels overbooked. Ticked me off being talked down to like some idiot whos never traveled or rented a car. Got an Uber ride instead. Stay away from this farce of a car rental agency.
LEFT ME STRANDED!!! Cancelled my reservation because they didnt have the vehicle I RESERVED... employee was rude. Came back 2 mins later a said I could have aCar but since my reservation was cancelled it would cost me TRIPLE THE PRICE! Long story short 1:30am left stranded! SCREW YOU EZ RENTAL. First and last time I rent from you!
I waited two hours in a line for a car rental, and by the time I made it through, my three-old daughter was hysterical from sleep deprivation, they charged me 100.00 extra for adding my wife as a driver, and they informed that they had run out of the type of car I had requested, leaving me with whatever they could find. The woman in front of me was so exhausted, she agreed to their options only to be charged an additional 200.00. Her irate husband asked them to undo the options, and they said they could not because it was in the system. So, he canceled his reservation, forfeited his deposit and left in an Enterprise vehicle before my wife and I made it to the counter, and we were next in line. An economist from NYC was in line behind me. He said he had prided himself on always saving money, but he sent an email to his co-workers and employees to remove EZ from his companys rental options, citing it as a waste of time of such magnitude that it was not worth the savings. He said he literally missed one of the meetings he had come to Phoenix to attend while waiting in line. This was the worst car-rental experience in my 30 years of renting cars. I feel bad for the two guys working there while 25 people waited in line only to be over-charged and offered something less than promised. If you have kids, if you are on a business trip, if you are used to being treated like a human being, DO NOT GO HERE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. By the way, it is 3:00 am on the evening of this nightmare, and I stayed up a little later just to post this so the rest of you wont make the same mistake we did. Choosing between a colonoscopy, a root canal, and EZ car rental would be a difficult choice. I would rather sit in an emergency room or attend jury duty. It would be more pleasant.
THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM! BEWARE OF OVERBOOKING AND BAIT AND SWITCH TACTICS: I really hate writing reviews... but this rental experience was the worst experience Ive ever had in my life so I have to complain.I arrived at PHX, took the rental car shuttle to the car rental terminal. E-Z Rent a Car shares a counter with Advantage and their counter was the only with a line out the door. Waited 40 minutes in the line. An employee said to check the counter downstairs so my friend ran down to check. The employees said their printer was broken and sent him back up.Back at the counter an employee started sending other people downstairs and we told them the printer was broken and they werent taking people and the employee laughed at that and said the printer wasnt broken. Sketch.We went down to the counter downstairs and sure enough they were processing reservations. I waited another 20 minutes. When I got to the counter all the cars were gone. I had prepaid $130 on Priceline, reservation confirmed. The lady told me one car was left: a Chevy Tahoe. I was hesitant since I originally rented a compact car, this was not what I wanted to drive.I agreed to it because it was the only car that was left. After I agreed, she told me I would have to pay $280 additionally for the car. THIS IS $420 FOR A CAR FOR ONE WEEKEND (on top of my prepaid amount). This is a classic BAIT AND SWITCH. How are you going to charge me $130 for a confirmation and reservation and then switch the car I wanted and charge me more?I asked if I would get a refund for the $130 I prepaid. She was very aggressive and told me that I will never see my refund again. She tried to intimidate me into paying extra. I refused because the price was absurd. I ended up going to Hertz next door. Complete waste of my time.
These people lie and deceive. Their service was terrible. They charged me for insurance I didnt need and then refused to give me my money back. They gave me a car with a tire that was going flat so 300 miles down the road when it went flat the only help they offered me was to send the tow truck and drive me all the way back to Phoenix to get another car instead of sending somebody to fix the flat tire. Their customer service is the worst customer service Ive ever dealt with ever in my entire life. I would never ever use these people again I would not even send my worst enemy the Rent-A-Car here. E-Z car rental should be out of business... my reservation was supposed to cost me $353 for 7 days and it ended up costing me $673.65. There was almost a 50% tax included when they added all the taxes up. Run for your life. Walk. Rent a camel. Hitchhike. Do anything but Rent-A-Car from these thieves
