Besides the coolest bathroom I have ever seen inside a barber shop! My hair cut and beard trim experience was amazing! You know how women have a spa day, well this was my spa day! When I walk through the door they were very welcoming and got me signed in right away! The shop is very clean and well designed! Very classy!!! The music was very relaxing as well! I highly suggest going here for your best barber shop experience! I will be going back again soon!

Ladies if you ever wanna spoil your man, this is the place! Set up his appointment and he missed it.... BUT they still took him in last minute. They had outstanding customer service and the atmosphere was very amazing. The owner did an outstanding job. Thank you for making him look good 😘

I’m new to having a beard and needed a shape up. I got scheduled with Josh Q and I was really pleased with his performance. He was very meticulous and shaped the beard exactly how I asked. Also, the shop looks brand new, so that was an added plus to the shave experience.

Edited short review original elsewhere.Went to this place 9/13/18. Please if you have wavy or curly mixed hair DO NOT GO HERE. Mixed with black so hair is a different type to work with. They DO NOT know what they are doing.Asked for 1.5 low cut fade and 1/2 an inch off the top. Got THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE!Once the hair cut was done, DONE, they ask is this ok? Not ask while cutting little by little.What was I supposed to say, the hair is cut. Its over. You cant go back. All the guy said was... well when it grows back it will grow even. So I just said its fine sure. Not happiness, no joy, not satisfied. Not myself not the kids.All I got was barbers who lie. Seeing my kids break down later was heartbreaking. I am out $40.00 and back to driving all the way across town just so my kids dont suffer again.** Also FAKE reviews are posted by friends. Women who gave a 5 star 9/16/18 said she was there when I was, was a friend sitting in their with her dog. Not getting hair done. **I also now included pictures and text between one of my kids and I and you can see what was said.*In Reply -- Please dont take my kindness and respect the wrong way. The barber saw the stress on our faces which is why he felt the need to explain over and over why he did what was done and not what was asked. I was not going to cause a scene and as I stated, when asked if their hair was good what am I supposed to say the damage was done, I said yeah sure and moved on. I did not say oh wow great job wonderful you look amazing cause they dont. Their Aunt who saw them before and after their haircut stated WTH happened to their hair? Where did you go what did they do? Why did you go to someone who doesnt know how to cut curly hair? (black hair) I showed the respect I was not given and paid and left. The fact that I was decided to remain calm, pay for a service and time doesnt mean I was a happy customer just a respectful one who did the right thing. Full price for first time customer no discount further. And your response to children who have anxiety. Wow, what a wonderful world we live in when a women or child walks away from confrontation and then you get laughed at after and your feelings down played instead of taken seriously. When my kids read the response I said lets to back and Ill tell them to their face since thats what he wanted but they begged me not to getting flustered and stressed and anxious. So thank you owner for your kindness and understanding in your response and having friends post fake reviews saying they heard what was asked for. Cause when speaking to my son he said when he said like yours he was saying the length not the cut style or his hair would be long on top and he said he wanted a low cut fade still. Great hospitality from the moment I called to check if they were still open. They were going to close early, after asking what I needed done, I explained my son Matthew needed a haircut. Said ok no problem come on in. I was right around the corner, so I knew exactly where this barbershop was at. Right next to the Phx Public library and Sprint/T-Mobile store in the Metro center shopping center. Great, friendly service upon entering. Clean, cool and interesting shop! Loved the decor and felt right at home. Josh was the man who gave my son his haircut, fade and straight razor cut today. Hot towel and the works. Amazing job and really impressed. My son felt happy about his haircut and no complaints. All smiles! I would totally 100% recommend this place hands down. Josh listened to what my son wanted and asked him as he was giving his haircut how he wanted it to look like, styled and personal preference. Thank you Josh! We will be back! I started coming to the shop prior to the recent change of ownership. It took me close to a year after moving to Phoenix to find a barber I felt comfortable with, so when the previous owner packed up and sold shop I felt hesitant. With that said, I actually prefer the new owner, Clayton, and feel good recommending him. Hes friendly and he takes my requests seriously. Ive requested several different types of cuts ranging from under cuts to modern, messy bed head. He nails it each time. I cant speak for other staff and their skills but everyone has been incredibly friendly recently which I really appreciate. The shop is now inviting.Overall, the shop has improved. The new changes feel good, more comfortable. Be sure to check out the super hero bathroom when you go!

I had been a Metro Barbershop client for over 15 years. They dont make appointments and sometimes the wait can be up to an hour long. I finally decided to try a different barbershop and stopped in at The Modern Man. I have been going there for a few months now and am really happy I took a chance! Eric is my Barber now and he does an amazing job!!! He cleans up the ears without having to ask, and there are no stray hairs a varying sizes after the cut, its all nice and even. It may cost a few bucks more, but it is well worth it!!! Thanks Eric!!! Great Job!!!

Went in for a haircut mainly just to clean the sides. Told the Barber / owner been growing out the top please do touch it unless it is just to shape. All said and done one year of growing out my hair all gone because he cut the front of my hair uneven and shorter than the rest of my hair now I only have 1/2 inch left on top because I had to buzz it to get it at least back to even on top

Hands down best cut Ive ever had ! Clayton hooked me up with a cut that was beyond what I expected. Atmosphere was awesome and I came out smelling and looking like a million bucks. Couldnt ask for more in barber.

This place is trash if I could give no star I would the employe gave me a high fade on my left and low fade on my right when I said something he/she got upset and said nothing was wrong with it and continued to ask for a tip I highly recommend not going here and finding a different barbershop

This place is 30 miles from my house but was in the area. Dropped off my 15yr old very picky son and he LOVED it. Said man that cut his hair asked questions explained what he was doing and had a conversation with him. My son said from now on thats where he wants to go. Nowhere else.

ModernMan is the best barber shop, I have brothers who have curly hair and love it!! I was at the shop when the woman who said she had a awful experience was there, her kids both seemed happy and so did she, her oldest said he wanted it like his barbers on the side and leave a little on the top. If you have kids with curly hair dont be afraid to bring them here!! they are great with cuts and kids, and the best prices you will get!!

They take the time to make sure you feel at home and go above and beyond for their clients, even to go as far as making sure my service dog had fresh water to drink while I was getting my haircut. The guys here are amazing and they take the oldschool way of barbering very seriously. Theyll give you a chop, a fade, and even a shave like back then. The haircuts are amazing and they will definitely have me coming back in for routine chops.

First time going to Modern Man and Ive got to say one of the best hooks ups of my life. Ivan was my barber, dude is an artist a true professional you can tell he cares about what he does. Very meticulous and detailed takes the time to do it right. Will defently be coming back. If your looking for a great cut I reccomend heading to Modern man to get freshened up!

I had been going here for over 6 years, but I have no intention of returning anymore. I went in today around 12:45PM. There was no one ahead of me and one customer getting his hair cut. I sat down and worked on some emails. Two more guys came in after me. A barber then came back from lunch and let one guy cut in front of me. I figured he probably just was not paying attention, so I let it go. Then, after the first barber finished with his friend, who he did not charge, he walked up to the guy who came in after me and took him right back to the chair, skipping me AGAIN. Apparently, non-paying friends take priority over paying customers. I walked out at that point. I was done after waiting 20 minutes to be cut in line twice. Ive noticed the business has really declined since the new owners took over, and I am not surprised by the way this place has been run.

25 for a basic fade and the old man cut the back of my neck with a straight razor I can get a better cheaper cut at patrons on Glendale and 23rd and their only one chair and hes fast

Very upset to hear Ivan had sold. My husband went in yesterday to get his hair and beard cut and ended up paying 40 dollars for nothing. He told the barber numerous times he wanted a undercut and somehow ended up with a buzz cut on the side of his heads and long hair on top. He didn’t hardly touch his beard or clean his face up.

Honestly... worst haircut I have received by far! They didnt clean up the edges of my hair, the guy cut me, my hair still looks a mess, the guy was on his phone for a while, and Ontop of all that I was charged $20 dollars for a very crappy haircut that was 6 minutes! not worth it at all not a good atmosphere... I would not recommend going to this barber shop.
