Got my 1st show at the Van Buren featuring Mt. Joy and Trampled by Turtles. We were there for the Turtles but the line extending around the block on account of the airport like security was in effect. Staff did their best to alert those in line about the no purse policy but alas the line was long and confusing. Bottom line we missed the Turtles but got to ride on Astrovans with Jesus. At another show it was less crowded and flowed much better. As always things are getting better with time.
Ive been here for Tech N9ne and just tonight I saw Marc Rebillet. Really good venue to get up close to the stage and feel like youre part of the show. Theres now a pizza place called Ziggys next door that sells their food at the venue and its a match made in heaven.Staff is also extremely polite and professional. I read several reviews saying they missed bands due to the COVID procedure they have in place and I did not have that issue at all. I showed up 20min before show time and was maybe tenth in line and the process took all of 2minutes to get in the door.Overall if a band you like is playing here I would definitely recommend, plus the parking garage is really close, you cant beat it.
This venue is so cool! the inside is kept cool temperature wise! tons of bar areas.. probably one of the only venues Ive been to (which really isnt many) you can go outside on their large patio area and smoke/vape/drink. The sounds and lighting were nice! really enjoyed the atmosphere here.
States nowhere on the website you need a vaccine record on your person. So since they didnt, I will. They will turn you away without it and you will miss the event you were planning to see. They did not refund my ticket, and when I asked who to see they led me to some men in the back who did not work for the venue. Do not support these people. I will be actively telling everyone, and posting on social media warning people and telling them to avoid this venue. 0/5 stars.
Great venue. Line was very long but the staff did a good job of getting everyone through as quickly as possible. Sound was good. Lighting was great. Bar was about what youd expect.
Absolutely love this place. Great sound, lighting, atmosphere. Multiple bars, nice bathrooms. Large enough to have space to stand but still felt like an intimate venue. Small outdoor area to have a drink/Ziggys pizza. Not a lot of parking. Great organization by the staff for lines & security. Venue kept nice & cool with AC/fans. Just overall awesome place for a concert.
We attended a vaxx-card show for my first time at the Van Buren. What a great way to break the pandemic streak - gorgeous inside, great staff and service, room to breathe and fresh water. The only star missing is for the actual stage speaker system, the acoustics are disappointing for such a great room
I have really enjoyed this venue over the years, but please post your apparent required proof of COVID vax/neg test for entry on somewhere additional to Instagram. Like say, tickets, emails, YOUR WEBSITE. I 100% get what you’re trying to do (nurse here), but some people do not have Instagram and don’t deserve to be turned away at the door over unfair notification practices. ✌️✌️
Very nice small-medium concert venue. Ticket prices were reasonable ($25 apiece for General Admission floor tickets) and theyve got a lot of solid food and drink options on hand. Its in the gentrifying (for better and for worse) area of Van Buren and parking wasnt a huge issue but we got there early. Lots of restaurants and bars around it too.
My first time coming here, and I came for the Kevin Smith - Moobys Restaurant pop-up, and wow was it well-organized. The employees and staff were very friendly, and all was well-maintained and sanitized, very socially responsible. I hope more pop-ups happen, and cool venues like The Van Buren keep hosting them. On the way out I saw Galactic will be playing in March, so now I know Ill be back soon.
Went there for the first time to see Dayglow tonight. I immediately realized I was dehydrated after the opening band came on. I asked one of the workers if they had water and he said I could go to the bar but I said no I would hold out a little longer. My friend and I agreed to stay for 3 songs then give up our spot and go to the back because we were so lightheaded. He ended up being us water and completely saved the day, I can’t even express my appreciation for this man. We stayed front row all night and had the most amazing time. It was her 18th birthday and we got to interact with her favorite singer the whole time and it was just so amazing. Thank you so much!!
Loved it. Drinks are little too pricey. But overall a great experience
Kat von D was amazing! I loved that venue! Great show!!! Looking forward to more! 💜
Great venue. Fast bartenders. Would reccomend the balcony for bigger shows.
My friend and I attended The Whitey Morgan concert. I made the decision to upgrade to premium seating for the two of us. Your venue was CLEAN!!!!:), quaint, courteous and professional. What a breath of fresh air!!!! Even your bathrooms are spotless and well attended to! After the event we lingered for a moment and chatted up your upstairs team. Keep these fine young ladies around. They treated us attentively, professionally, and made us want to come back. Your venue and staff speak for itself. Customer service was on point!!!!! Thanks for making us feel good about ourselves, the others around us, and being genuinely awesome!
An amazing venue to see live music. Never had a bad experience here the acoustics and sound are always excellent. Definite bucket list location to see live music in Phoenix.
Smell like chciken and beer and there was a big light with the dqncers it went really well and I think it should be more noticable I didnt know it was real haha wow 😲😲😲😲🌜
Watch out! We drove several hours to Phoenix, got a hotel and walked to the venue. Had vaccination proof, waited in a line way around the block to get into a show, and could not get in because I had a cross body purse with me. They were out of storage lockers and offered no alternative. If we walked or caught a ride to the hotel to drop off my bag, we would have missed the opening act which was who we went to see. This policy was NOT listed overtly on the venue website, it was under FAQ. They also denied us a refund because we purchased presale tickets. If you’re going to have such strict policies, add a module to your website that’s easy for people to find.
Awsome.Even though im drinking soda and cant tell?Guys still want to bop me at night.Loud and awsome.
Best venue in town! Ventilation is great, sound wasnt assaultingly loud, place was clean. & I got to see Lane 8 there for my first time! Love this spot
This venue is one of my favorites. Super sick atmosphere with the deck on top. And great having a bar.
Saw Shakey Graves there. The venue is amazing and the stage area is large.
Security staff literally DRAGGED me out of the bathroom and onto the floor, ripped my shirt, cracked my phone and busted my knees open In front of everyone. all because of a misunderstanding with me trying to help my partner with the broken bathroom stall door, and the security guards didnt know how to control their anger. Extremely unprofessional. I want my money back and I want my damages compensated for! This is NOT how you treat paying costumers
Visited multiple times! Great venue.
This is the coolest, most beautiful music venue Ive ever been to! The bathrooms were actually CLEAN, that never happens with music venues!!
This venue is pretty good... You can buy better seats up in the mezzanine. They were great seats. I would recommend bringing ear plugs with you though as the sound can get a little bit loud! (getting older...) The bathrooms were clean and well lit. My wife and I enjoyed ourselves at the Ice Nine Kills concert!
Excellent concert venue. Large enough to have fun, but small enough that the show still feels intimate. Mezzanine seats were a great place to see and record video from, and featured a bar with drinks and food brought by a server. This time I saw highly suspect who put on an amazing show. Looking forward to seeing Armin Van Buren here in a few months.
A great place to see a show, unfortunately when you email them to ask a simple question regarding a show nobody ever responds
The Van Buren is a great venue to see a concert. The atmosphere is very chill and Ive never felt cramped in large groups compared to other venues. You should have a good view of the stage nearly anywhere in the place, and Im a short human. It is not incredibly large in size, but its also not small. They have a full bar and the staff is friendly.
I purchased GA tickets for Trampled By Turtles in August 21, 2021. When we arrived we were told that “you can spend $30 more dollars and get in right away, or walk down the street and wait in a 45 minute long line”. I have never felt so humiliated, I had paid, I had my Covid vaccination, I was ready for my concert, and then missed all but one song from my band. It was a horrible unorganized rude experience.
Very cool venue. This was my first time attending a show here so I wasnt sure what to expect. Parking was simple at one of the many lots close by ($5 to park for a downtown event is a bargain in my experience). Entry into the venue was easy as well. Security was ever present but cool. I didnt see any harassment. The main entrance is awesome with the chandeliers and the bar was well staffed. In the ballroom, there really isnt a bad place to be. The band was always visible in this big open room. The sound system definitely kicks! While I prefer a bit more highs in the overall mix, the low end was astounding. You could feel the bass punching you in the chest and I love that!Overall, a great experience. Ill definitely be back for more.
This is a really sweet venue. It has an old timey vibe, its small and intimate, and you can see the stage no matter where you are. The restroom is big and very clean. The bar has a nice selection. They also have outside seating, and they are connected to a pizza place so you can grab food before to show. Beautiful venue. I saw Sleater-Kinney there and the show was exceptional.
The best medium sized venue in PHX. Always a great show experience!
If I could give this venue 0 stars. Thanks for your lack of communication on expectations to attend a show in your venue. I even have pictures of your website regarding COVID and there is NO information regarding requiring proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test. You are a LiveNation venue and according to LiveNation site 10/3 is the expectation of this requirement. Thanks for ruining a wonderful evening 😡
Great place to see a show! Weve never been here before but my husband bought tickets 4 months ago for Tyler Childers. They sold out quick. If you get there a couple of hours earlier you can meet the band as they come off the bus. We got there an hour earlier and missed them. The line was already around the building but we still got our food and drinks pretty fast. The lines were much longer 30 min later. It was amazing how close to the band you can get! The pulled pork Frys were delicious but small for $10! The 24 oz beer was $10. But considering we only paid $28 for our tickets it was worth it.
This location is fantastic. Excellent sound, lighting, and ambiance.
God I love this place! So much fun with events planned throughout the monthCheck out the schedule for events and partiesBathrooms are pretty cleanSecurity are great and its just a lot of fun
1st time here a few weeks back and loved it. Cool bar when u first walk in and spacious floor room to the right once u enter. Everyone was nice and chill and performance was awesome. Reminds me like the marquee but I think this place has a bigger and more seats in the upstairs area. Parking was easy to get, just across the street. Looking forward to coming back once another band I like plays here.
Wonderful two floor venue with great sound system. Clean with a nice aesthetic.Standing is the name of the game for general admission and the ground level, though, they sometimes roll out seats up closer to the stage. Premium/VIP seats are on the second level balcony as well.Decent craft beer selection at the bar. A tall costs about $12. There is a bar inside and outside of the concert proper.Would go to again.
This was a awesome venue for seeing a band, very well maintained building, with available viewing from two floors, great sound, super nice security, located in an easily found location just off the interstate. Perfect size for enjoying your favorite group, a more personal setting rather than feeling a million miles from the performance. I totally recommend this place, I had a fantastic first experience here seeing Chromeo here, and you will enjoy your favorites here too.
One of my favorite downtown venues to see a show. Beautiful space, friendly staff!
Really cool music venue that opened recently in downtown Phoenix. A large bar, satellite bars, a very nice mezzanine that looks down on the floor, and a good size stage. This might be the only place that you are actually tempted to take pictures in the bathroom of the tile and faucets! Only downside is that the floor does not slope so if youre smaller be sure to get there early and get towards the front. They do, however, have bleachers along the side that can be saving grace if you cant see over people.
Our first time visiting The Van Buren was for Roller Disco Party. It was awesome. My wife and I were amazed at how many people dressed up for the night. We are looking forward to the next Disco night. This venue is really nice. There were at least 3 different bars and plenty of balcony space.I am definitely looking forward to coming back for some concerts.
Great venue for music, only downside is the drink prices are a lil bit pricey.
This is now my favorite venue for music. Watched Sabaton tonight, and of course the band blew the house down. But to the Van Burens credit, it magically rebuilt itself so fast that no one really noticed. The staff and security were all great, and super polite. We sat in the party section on the mezzanine, and it was damn near perfect. Well be back for Amon Amarth, and we already have mezzanine seats reserved!
This place is one of the best venues for a concert I’ve ever been to. The stage and floor are smaller so you get a great view no matter where you stand. The outside bar serves the best concert venue food I’ve ever eaten. The barque brisket is absolutely to die for. As far as drink are concerned, I tried their honey badger and take it from me. You have no idea alcohol is in there so you always done it quick and want another one. The staff is also friendly, even security which is unusual for places like this. Well I’ve enjoyed both concerts I experienced and look forward to me next.
Looks to be a new building. The air was cranked and the sound was good. The restrooms were in good shape all evening. Dont be fooled going in there are two more large bars inside. Go to the far bar on the east side of the building, the lines are the shortest. But be warned a 24 ounce beer is $12. Also, this venue was supposedly sold out, but was not crazy crowded.
Love this venue in DTPHX. Amazing bands come through here, and come and go by the blink of an eye! Definitely get set up with email notifications or follow them on social media to keep up on who is coming into town! The venue itself is beautiful, and as long as you are taller than the average person or make it to the balcony level, there is not a bad seat in the house ;)
Super Nostalgic. Great venue. Excellent location.
Love coming here for concerts !! The interior is so awesome and the patio area is great too ! By far my favorite local small venue !!!!
100% obsessed with this venue. It’s absolutely huge but we were able to see the stage easily and didn’t have to fight for a spot. Drinks were on pointe. I was shocked they actually made a proper old fashioned and it was great. Upper seating de k is a great option when buying tickets. Looking forward to the Madonna dance party.
The Van Buren is my favorite venue in Phoenix. They tend to have and run the most organized shows. The floor layout is great and its easy to see the stage.
Very organized. The security was on it. The weed heads got booted straight out the back door. The sound and light techs made the show for me. Drink prices were reasonable. Inside was nice, well maintained.
Love this place! Very awesome in so many ways from walk up bar to nice big clean restrooms. The look of the place inside has a very unique look compared to other venues.seeing bands there is such a great experience. You really got to check this place out!
Went for private manf presentation. Very spacious room but too few comfortable seatings. Room noisy and boomy for small groups
I visited The Van Buren on October 21 for Maggie Rogers. The show was fantastic. I really enjoyed this venue. It was very nice and clean; a pretty classy spot. It wasnt very large which was great because the performances felt more intimate. Id highly recommend visiting. It was my first time at this venue and I had no complaints whatsoever. In fact, this would have to be my favorite venue Ive ever visited; I definitely plan on checking out more shows.
The nicest music venue Ive been to. It was immaculate, and the restrooms would have been fine for a nice restaurant, let alone a concert venue. The staff was also great, super friendly even when it was time to shut things down. Large patio outside for the smoker with a beer and food stand, nice big lobby bar. The sound system was great. I have nothing bad to say about this place.
Gorgeous venue! Every spot in the house has a good view. Nice bars - easy to access, short lines.
Great little venue and the 80s hangover concert was awesome🤘
Great place for a show! Roomy yet intimate. Awesome, friendly and prompt staff and service. The food is fantastic (I recommend the BBQ Brisket Sliders) and the mezzanine views are worth the upgrade.
The Van Buren is one of the best venues downtown. Lots of space, bleachers, great bar, and merchandise space for acts... Great sound system, clean bathrooms, plenty of stalls (I know TMI)!😂
First time here. Came for Trey Anastasio and Band. Awesome concert and awesome venue. Ive been wanting to check out the Van Buren for a while. It did not disappoint. I appreciate that the floor is mainly standing and that there is a balcony for those who want to sit upstairs. Lots of bars for alcohol and the bathrooms are kept clean.
My favorite Phoenix venue! It takes no time at all to get in and out of this place. Bar service is quick and their beer selection is killer. Sounds quality is awesome and tickets are decently priced.
Great place to see a band. Not too big but also not too small. Sound is very good (depends whos doing the mixing). Easy to get a drink but craft beer options are limited. Parking is not bad if you go a block or two away. One of my favorite venues in Phoenix.
Incredible venue! Just loved it. I performed here with Beth Hart and the sound was spectacular. Not a bad seat in the house! Thank you, dear owners of this fantastic place! ❤
Love this location. One of my favorite concert venues in the Valley. Have seen multiple shows here from Cypress Hill to Dance Gavin Dance. Staff is always friendly and the premium seating is always worth it
Love the Van Buren... Big, Open Space... Great Drinks, Clean Bathrooms (lol) and the staff is always wonderful... We’ve gone to about a dozen of their concerts (Blackalicious, Ziggy Marley, Chromeo, Allen Stone, etc) and events and have NEVER been disappointed! Thanks for bringing legend, Common on Sunday night! Amazing show! Can’t wait to come back to the Van Buren!
One of the best venues in Phoenix for live music. I would recommend getting the balcony tickets so you get the best of both worlds with the above the stage view with seats and access to the rest of the scene when you want to feel the vibe of the crowd.
The security was thorough yet kind. With most smaller venues you tend to feel claustrophobic and packed in however it was open and well ventilated so we were comfortable the entire time. The old building was beautiful and I’d be happy to return to see other bands/attend other events.
A really cool new venue! The lighting and sound were great. Just dont expect to park in their lot, its tiny. Plan on parking in a nearby parking garage.
Such a great venue! Plenty of space, clean bathrooms, never too long of a line at the bar and they have food! Only problem is there isnt too much parking.
Security staff are the worst, super rudereally bad
Cool place to see your favorite bands
Nice venue. Great sound. Very enjoyable evening at The Van Buren.
This is a great venue. Amazing sound system and great viewing.
It was very packed but everyone was having fun drinking & dancing
Awesome venue, very big and open floor space. Stage is nice and high off the ground for short people like me! Great selection of beers too. Didnt try any of the food but it looked and smelled tasty. Come see a show!
Beautiful, beautiful venue! Huge restrooms, beautiful murals, great sound statement, nice, friendly staff. A great way to start off, guys!
Potentially the best venue in phoenix, overtaking the crescent ballroom-- although the crescent is within sight distance and owned by the same people, so I guess it doesnt matter. intimate shows with a chill balcony if youre needing to hang back, large clean bathrooms, and a huge full bar. please kill the marquee.
Great venue for live music. Open center floor with over hanging balconies for an awesome view. Bars are upstairs and down. One of my favorite live music venues in Phoenix.
Awesome concert location with tons of floor space. Excellent sound with loud deep bass.
Just came back from watching the Yacht Rock Revue perform. They were great!! I definitely would come back to The Van Buren again!!
Awesome venue! Definitely opt for premium seating. The staff is fun, and very accommodating. Great times!
Nice room, cool staff, bit shining
