Trust these guys for expediency and honest dealing. I opted to wait while my cars AC was being serviced, and I could overhear conversations with tens of customers - both in-person and over the phone. Marks (and others) intentions were consistently clear - to be straightforward with customers about their vehicles and to perform only what was necessary to get back on the road. Mark himself is a prime example of how years of expertise can translate into fast and accurate service. Combined with his good faith this means that - at the end of the day - youre not going to get your car out of any other shop at a lower cost, nor in any better condition. Bring your vehicle here.

This shop was able to bridge the gap on the automotive jargon and explain in layman terms what needs to be done. They were not trying to up sale and gave realistic timelines on when to bring my vehicle in. After having some aftermarket pieces installed, the work looks amazing.

As a college student I’m very scared and HATE HATE to bring my car to shops since they usually rip you off and tell you things you don’t need. However, this repair shop tells you things you NEED and none of the extras. Special shout out to Justin. Did I mention I’m college student? So I know nothing about cars but he explained it in the most simple way and since I’m on a ramen budget (no shame on that), I recommend this if you’re skeptical on breaking the wallet. They’re friendly and transparent on their prices 😊

We have been taking cars to Gabs for a number of years but will never go back after what just happened. The last repair they did was in June; in July the car died and had to be towed to them. They said it needed an alternator and a battery so my granddaughter decided after buying the car a year 1/2 ago and spending money on previous repairs, totaling about $3,500 ($2,800 purchase) to just park the car and buy a newer used car. Two days ago we got it back to Gabs to get the issue fixed ($533.00) so she could sell it. When Mark called and said it was fixed he then told me that they had to disconnect the A/C! I said it was working before but he insisted it was not and it would be another $1,400.! I said I would never have had it repaired if we had known that, so he said he would just take out the parts and I could pick it up the way it was brought in. Then I found out that the previous mechanic left a week 1/2 ago and now we have to deal with this guy who obviously doesnt care. We picked it up this morning and took it to Feeneys on Bell and 25th St, they did a free diaognosic test and said it was never the alternator or battery but the A/C was causing the issues. When I called Gabs to inform them the guy just hung up on me! I had never had a bad experience with the previous owner but now they seem to just scam people so we will never go back.

Ive been taking our car and van to Gabs for many years when Gab was working there. I was always happy with his explainations about what was done and why and hed even show me the old parts. The work was great with his supervision. The last few times I went (when Gab was no longer there to supervise), I need seals replaced in the engine and the oil pan due to oil leaks. When the work was completed, the mechanic told me to be patient and that I should expect some leaks for awhile until everything settled into place. Sure enough, the leaks continued, but I was patient while waiting for the leaks to stop. Pre-Covid, I contacted Gabs and, to be fair, they said the work was still under warranty and to bring it back. But at this point, Id already put 8-quarts of oil into the car only to see it continue to leak out. I decided to get under the car and see what I could see. What I found out is that all the bolts holding the oil pan in place were completely loose and Im certain they never tightened them up following the repair (and Im surprised a few of these bolts didnt just fall out because they were so loose). I tightened up everything I could and the leak slowed down, but Im still thinking there are other leaks coming from the other seal areas (ones they were supposed to fix) and perhaps those are just loose as well but Im unable to identify or reach with my limited tools. I simply no longer trust or have confidence in their work and now Im faced with spending the same $1,400+ to get this resolved elsewhere. Id left them a voice-mail message awhile back and told them I just could not bring back this car as I didnt feel they could actually fix it...there was no response. -Michael SmithUPDATE: Although I sincerely appreciate the response and offer from the current Gabes staff to bring the car back at their expense, I just had a friend (qualified, certified, experienced mechanic who is also an engineer for the Phoenix Fire Department) have a look at my leaks. He actually pulled the oil pan and as he also found a leak coming from the valve cover, he pulled that also. He asked how long itd been since these seals were done and I told him itll been almost 2-years. He said it looked like the valve cover seal hadnt been done in many years (not 2) and the existing cork gasket/seal in the oil pan also appeared to be very old. I told him what Gabes had said about being patient with my oil pan fix because it would continue to leak for some time...and he quickly said that hed never heard of anything like that at all (if this were the case, new car lots would be full of cars with oil puddles under the engine). As I had already spent good money to have Gabes fix these issues and nothing was fixed, I simply cannot trust any additional attempts on their part...complete Fail.

I have been going to Gab’s for years and I recommend them ALL the time. My parents went there for years. I will admit, when another partner took over and Gab retired, I was concerned. However, I have had to go in for a few repairs and the transition was seamless with the same honesty, great service and prices. Now my daughter and her soon to be husband goes there. So you could say we are third generation customers!

I went to to auto zone twice. 1st guy told me my battery was fine then it wouldnt start again. Yesterday, after work I went to another auto zone to just buy a new battery and they told me my starter is the problem. I called Gabs this morning and told them I need a new starter. They did the diagnostic test and said auto zone was wrong and it was my battery and my starter is fine. Thank you for being so straight up and honest and saving me a bunch of money! I really appreciate it. When the time comes even I really have a problem Ill be back.

Was more than a little leery when ownership/management changed as I had a great relationship of trust with Gab and his staff. More than comfortable with referring friends and family over the last few years.after discovering this honest and reliable auto repair establishment. It appears to date that I had no worries. They continue to build on the history, maintaining the same honest reliable service. I will continue to use this shop, and only this shop, until something changes. I do not expect that to happen.

I cannot say enough good things about this shop. I was recently in a car accident and my car was totaled. Being an older woman I was very anxious and stressed about getting another car. I asked Jeff if he could make any recommendations. He made a list of cars that he thought appropriate for me to look at. Then, Jeff actually took time out of his day to go with me to look at some of these cars! I did purchase one and Jeff helped through the ropes of car buying. Now that is customer service above and beyond!! He and his staff are kind, patient and honest.Why would you go any place else?

I just had my AC repaired. They diagnosed the problem quickly and fixed it the same day. My air is now working great.

I repaired the ac of my very old 2004 Hyundai accent here. The mechanics are very experienced and know what they are doing. One great thing is they do not highball you. They are bound to give you a reasonable quote. Please make appointments before you go because there are always people waiting to get their car fixed.

Two parts of my old car were failing (hub bearing assembly and passengers side axle) and turning my car into a noisy death trap. They did all the work in one day and I got out under a grand including an oil change and new cabin filter. 👍 Labor costs were very reasonable!

Got my ignition coil replaced here. We made an appointment the night before. Dropped our suv there in the morning. They went and got our parts from a dealership pretty quickly that same morning. Few hours later it was done. They even quoted us cheaper than any place we found in town. The guy was very thorough and informative about the repair process. We will absolutely go back to this location the next time we need work done in our vehicles. Gabe was very friendly!

I HAVE BEEN TAKING MY CAR TO GABS FOR OVER 10 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. THEY ALWAYS DO GREAT WORK, ARE VERY HONEST, AND DO NOT REPAIR/REPLACE ANYTHING UNLESS THERES A NEED TO DO SO. Impressed by the knowledge of all the employees. Also, they are aware of vehicle warranty and recalls. When replacing the alternator on my vehicle, they discovered a leaking water pump. They could have fixed the pump but didnt, telling me it was covered by an extended warranty and said I should take it back to the dealer for replacement.

I feel taken advantage of! 14 months ago, I brought my car to Gabs (based on these reviews) due to a dead battery. I was talked into getting the upgraded, more expensive battery that came with a lifetime warranty. Ive never had a batter die on me in just over a year...in fact, most batteries come with a 3 year warranty anyway, which means they typically last 3 years and 1 month :). I was NOT told at the time that I bought the new battery from Gabs that I would be charged $55 for labor. I feel that a battery that dies in a year is faulty and I should NOT have had to pay for the labor! Im writing this review because people should know what they are getting and had I read a review like this, I would have purchased the standard battery with the standard 3 year warranty and would have saved myself some money! Also, I felt the customer service and friendliness was seriously lacking!!! I asked a few questions in a very kind way and was given short/curt answers...bordering on rude!! I referred a friend to Gabs and shes had a lot of work done, but I will NOT be referring anyone else going forward!

The staff seemed very friendly and knowledgable but if you are looking for them to check issues and read the codes for issues for free this isnt your place. They charged me $49

Weve taken our vehicles to Gabs for many years and have been quite happy with the service, the pricing, and the honest evaluations we receive. In recent years weve taken our Dodge van to Gab for a checkup and servicing every year just before we drive the 2300 miles from here to our home in Maine for the summer. I wont leave here until Gab says the car will get us safely to Maine. Thats one less worry we have on the trip, and we have never had a problem with the car. I attribute that to Gab. My son found Gabs. I had just gotten an oil change from another shop and the Check Engine light came on. I called Gabs and they fixed the light (that the other company failed to reset) at no charge. I have been going to Gabs for over 2 years now and have sent my friends there. They prices are VERY reasonable and they dont push extra services. I definitely recommend Gabs Auto! The people there treat me like family.

Gab was great at explaining the possibility of what was wrong with my ac. He explained everything he was doing and showed me the test results as the machine finished so I could see for myself if the system test failed. Luckily I was refered to such an honest guy and I will definitely be back to Gabs Auto Repair in the future.

I had two leaks under my hood, gab found them, a radiator clamp was loose and the oil filter was not tightened properly. (I recently had my oil changed at a discount oil change place, you pay what you get for!). Gab was a very honest person. He was referred to me by a friend and I am sure glad I saw him.
