Positive: The room was large and the bathroom was super modern, large and lots of storage. Loved the FREE water bottles to make coffee!! Beds were large and very comfortable with lovely bedding. Room did have fridge, but the microwave was in the hallway. Negative: The microwave was in the hallway near ice/vending machines. A little odd. Parking fee was very high but they did allow you to go in and out for the one fee. Never paid such a high fee to park my car after paying for the room.
The staff was really nice. But, the pool was closed. No one told me before booking, after booking or during check in. We decided to stay at this hotel seeing as it is one of the few hotels that offer a pool. When we called down to the front desk to ask where the pool was they laughed and said it was closed. I was infuriated. The hotel wasnt clean. The bed skirt on our bed was DIRTY!! The room was not clean (stained floors and walls, small and weird bathroom, dust on all of the wood). The refrigerator barely opened and had to scrape the floor to even get it open. The elevators were TERRIFYING. I had a panic attack in the elevator going to the parking garage because it sounded as if it was going to snap every time we got in. I wouldnt recommend staying here to anyone! Do not waste your money. What an awful experience.
Great place near the University. Great service. But clux is not open yet even for platinum members
Big cities dont need to provide great value. But, if you are going to U Penn, youll love the location.
I stayed at the Inn at Penn across the street but since the parking was so expensive with the hotel we went across the street and were pleasantly surprised. The staff were extremely helpful and we got a good price. Didn’t stay in the hotel but definitely recommend the parking!
Found a couple of cockroaches when I woke up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. Would normally consider roaches in a motel an automatic 1 star but the staff was very kind and accommodating when I had to ask for a new room at 2am. They worked quick and got me into a room 3 floors away from the roaches.
The best area is the lobby area. They have a nice section where you can work downstairs. The hotel is older and the rooms are clean it’s just old. My room had marks on the wall but other than that it was clean. My bed was very comfortable. Really nice front lobby staff they were amazing!
Nice environment (standard hotel but it’s all you need) (detail see below)+ controllable AC/heat+ big and comfy bed+ thick bed sheet so you don’t freeze yourself+ so many towels for different purposes$199 one night for 1 king room
Bath tub faucet had a continuous drip; found a cockroach near the front door; in room coffee maker leaks, a Mr. Coffee maker with different brand filter (Pikes Peak) doesn’t work together; the pool is out of order; A/C unit too close to bed blowing heavy on right side of bed. Pro: Front desk friendly staff; great housekeeping; great location; attached restaurant very good; comfortable bed;
Positive: great location, right in the university. Convenient for walking around campus.
My first experience IN the hotel was much nicer then making reservations. I was greeted by Kassidy, she was so helpful and took care of a problem I had. Kassidy was also very polite, friendly and it was pleasure seeing her the next night too. The bed was very comfortable and the location was perfect. My husband had surgery at Penn Presbyterian and it was a 10 minute walk. To be honest I was uncomfortable driving in the city so I walked to the hospital. It was a great experience
Nice hotel. Stayed there to attend a family reunion. Upgraded to a suite, which was nice.
Parking charges were $35. The the hotel only had half of their elevators functional leading to a pile-up of guests in the lobby. No breakfast service. Room was cramped, dirty, and smelled bad. Lobby and halls were humid. This was one of the first hotel stays Ive had in 10 years
Room was clean, bed was comfortable, there were enough pillows. It was close to everything we needed as we were there for a law school graduation. I liked the ease of pick up & drop off in front of the building.
As advertised. Nothing special . Clean and well kepted . Close to Penn Hospital. .6 mile . Easy walk
I stayed fathers day weekend. I had a wonderful stay. Montrose Jones offered early check-in and was courteous all during our stay
The room is great & clean. The employees friendly. However!, I miss the cheerfulness, and relaxed staff of before.
My experience was awesome and I love the fragrance permeating through the lobby. Very pleasant experience.
Positive: Wine glasses, fridge, design of the sink. Negative: I left my firestick and you apparently couldnt find it.
Very nice .the staff was very good .place was so clean and beautiful.thanks for a great stay😁
Rooms were decent & clean. However, our king size bed was too soft &/or worn, both our backs were hurting after the stay, the pillows were were also extremely thin & flimsy almost like laying on a hospital pillow! Lastly, theres an additional $35./fee per night to park your vehicle in the garage if youre in or visiting the Phila. Sheraton..
Very clean and the hotel staff were very kind, friendly and helpful.
Nice clean modern hotel in the middle of Penn University campus. Reasonable rates. Polite staff. Close to Penn Presbyterian hospital complex.
Easy check in, comfortable beds. Nice staff. Single night stay.
Your people make your hotel excellent! Breakfast was increadable and the gentleman that took my order, cooked it and served it, outside, was wonderful! I love this hotel. Thank you Marriott!!
The hotel was very old and the room was not very clean. Staff that checked me in was not very knowledgeable. The restaurant closed early so for food they recommended Wawa. Their shampoo line wss not familiar and had sulfates and chemicals I didnt want to use. Both Marriotts in the city were updated, cleaner and carry environment friendly and sulfate free shampoo and body care products. Would not stay sgsin
Check in went ok, got to the room and one of the keys did not work. Went back down and got new key, then the other key did not work. Had to go down a 2nd time to get two new keys. Refrigerator did not work and the multi plug receptor on the night stand did not work. Had to plug phone in across the room. Old faucets in bathroom, felt like they could fall apart at any moment. Was staying there bc my daughter was having early surgery at CHOP. Front desk made a reservation for a Taxi at 5:15am. They said the company was 100% reliable. 5:15 came, no taxi. 5:30 came, no taxi. Taxi never showed. Avoid this hotel!
Had an excellent experience. And the concierge, Montrose Jones was courteous and helpful
Very good pizza. We dont have good pizza in My town
Musty rooms, only has an Asian restaraunt, not very friendly service, unattractive rooms. And worst of all, the pool which is the only good part of this hotel is closed and they dont tell you that on the website
Nice hotel just no friendly customer service. A worker yelled at my special needs son who was having upcoming brain surgery. Worker that was sooo unnecessary.
I liked the location because it was 2 blocks away from where I had my surgery and it is in a good location by draxel University which was very nice to walk around the area
Beds were amazing!!! And the views were breath taking. Very clean. And had all of the essentials that a person would need.
Bad experience really ended my weekend with my husband we go with the expectation of sunbathing and swimming pool and unfortunately we find ourselves with the surprise that there is no pool but if they have the state as if you were making use of everything they offer on the page do not choose this hotel there is no pool service maybe you go with your children and they will take this great disappointment it is better to stay in a hotel without a pool as it is more economical and in the same way it is elegant my annoyance is that they charge fees as if they were doing it use of this service
The hotel is well located to tour U Penn, and Drexel. The hotel is old, parking is expensive and the taxes, state and city are high, they even have a 22.5% tax on parking. The rooms are old, the beds are comfortable but the rooms are small. Items appear to have been painted and painted over again, and have an old feel.
The hotel is dated, but clean. The elevator was broken and we were on the 14th floor. A frustrating stay.
Great service and a lovely room with a great view!
Nice place, seems a little dated. Front desk people very nice and helpful.
I had a sleep study done at this venue and for the most part it was very favorable. The armchair that was available for seating was grungy. You can do better, y oi u have a beautiful facility
300bucs a nite. Not worth it no pool nothing
Clean, comfy cozy excellent view of the city 🏙️🌆 and customer service was awesome
Good hotel . good customer serviceNice size rooms
It ok alright. I hate the fact that my Uber eats driver couldnt come up to the room. I thought everything was getting back to normal ???
The front desk was extremely friendly! The room was clean, however it was tough to adjust the thermostat. Also, they were doing elevator repair during our trip and the restaurant was closed due to the Snow. However, the location is perfect to everything, so would definitely book again.
Good hotel and great service
The room was clean and spacious. The view was lovely. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance.
Positive: Location - close to UPenn campus Negative: It was a very disappointing experience. Everything was very dated. The room smelled very bad like it hasn¿t been used or cleaned for years. Had a bad allergy reaction because the poor air quality and could not sleep well.
Parking is expensive and the breakfast is a la carte and made to order so plan and extra 1/2 hour to get breakfast from the oriental restaurant in the lobby. The lobby and rooms are very nice though.
Nice place but room walls can do with some refurbishing
Positive: Location for seeing UPenn Negative: Parking charge for guest
Nice view but small rooms
Positive: Convenient location. Negative: Stayed two nights so I would have liked additional towels and coffee to be provided without having to ask. Parking fee was rather high so we parked in another garage.
Good and kind service rooms have an excellent view of the City
If your looking for a hotel close to Drexel University or UPenn, the Sheraton University City is the answer. The hotel has a parking garage if needed for a daily fee. Close to public transportation. The hotel staff is friendly and welcoming. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. We ordered room service for breakfast and the food was hot, delicious and delivered on time. Booking direct gets the best rate. Can be pricey at busier times. Overall nice hotel in the University City area.
Could use some room renovations. Also, fire alarm at 11pm the night before your flight... not so great.
Great price and very clean
Went for a sleep study for my son on the 9th floor the heaters need a serious overhaul made noise booms and clicking sounds all night myself got 1hourvof sleep if my autistic son didnt receive a sleep aid Im a firm believer he wouldnt have been able to sleep either rendering the sleep study a complete wash however the Upenn hospital staff was wonderful and friendly . Thank you Lisa my sons nurse /Technician very nice genuine and professional and warm natured
Excellent location good customer services rooms well kept
This hotel was recommended to me by friends in medical school based on proximity to the testing center. Was pleased at the cleanliness of my room. Hotel is in a safe part of Philly. Also the staff was excellent! Front desk staff were welcoming and friendly and did everything in their power to make sure my stay went well. Would definitely recommend this hotel to other students visiting the area!!
Very nice 🙂
Bed is very comfortable. Rooms are above average in space. Shower head is pretty low so unless youre under six foot youll have to duck but water pressure is respectable. Enough outlets for all your gadgets and if you get the right side of the hotel youll have great views. Staff is also extremely friendly. Not the best location but close enough to walk to a number of great restaurants.
An old property that needs to be updated. Front desk personnel needs training on what to ask and say to guests pertaining to checking in process
I slept well!...good service!
Nicest front desk staff and as a Titanium Marriott member gave me a 4pm check out with zero issues.. Clean property and no reservation problems!/ highly recommended!
Good hotel, good service despite lockdown! To be recommended!
I come here to chill out and rest really great hotel
Nice clean spacious hotel
Positive: Checking out. Negative: Vagrant in elevator.
Convenient for what I needed. Looks very underwhelming from the Chestnut Street entrance. My bathroom could have been a lot cleaner, there was some serious dirt buildup around the legs of the vanity and on baseboards. The public areas of the hotel seemed to be kept a lot cleaner though. Even though my rate for cleanliness shows as poor, it was my bathroom that pulled it down. Generally the room was ok, but did not feel cohesive. It did not match the promise of the reception area. It felt dark even with all the lights on and curtains open. If you eat at the attached restaurant, do not order the lamb in cumin, unless you enjoy chewing on old shoe leather. Not good at all. My travelling companion had another dish and said that was ok. Overall we stayed here because the location was convenient. How ever I feel that because the location is so convenient the price gets bumped up.
Bad something bite me and my guest They charge me for a movie and bad single
We had great times in Sheraton during our sons U Penn move-in days. We considered downtown hotels for better rate at this time of dorm move-in days. However, we did the right decision. Hotel was in the center of Penn campus and had welcome environments for new students and families which was great for the first day as Penn family. Parking was on site and spacious and easy access (and cheaper than downtown hotels around $30). Penn bookstore was one block away. So many foods and convenient stores in front of the hotel. We thought our standard 2 queen room will be tight (299sf) but we actually felt spacious enough. Room was clean and thankfully there was a mini fridge (that I did not see in the hotel amenity). Staffs were very kind. We had bathroom drainage issue but it was OK for just one night and we reported it when we leave. Elevators were very slow (only 2) which could be improved.
The service wasn’t even that good. We check into a room and already we find dirty towels, the lamp between the bed flickers when trying to move it, the bathroom lights were not fully functional, and the closet door was broken. I called for toilet paper and they only brought up 1 roll, they refuse to do cleaning because of the pandemic, and parking is $8 an hour but in total it’s $35 a day. A three star hotel that charges full price that doesn’t even offer full service. I don’t take Covid as an excuse to refuse doing a room clean when nobody is in the room! THEN, it’s “Take the elevator down to the lobby so we can take ANOTHER elevator to get to the garage. While others content with their service, if I have to pay full price for services we don’t even get From a 3 star hotel, I’m making a review about it.
Positive: Location Negative: Old hotel, with the room having an odor of a previous smoking room. Not thoroughly cleaned, and staff was unresponsive to concerns.
I recently stayed here for a business trip. Right in the heart of West Philly, and within walking distance of UPENN. The lobby was very nice, and the room was pretty standard. While this place isnt as posh as Penn Ivy hotel, it was a very nice stay overall. Very nice front desk staff who were SUPER helpful and delivered excellent customer service (regardless of what time I went there). Within walking distance of everything!
I chose this hotel for location in downtown Phila. near Market Street. The exterior of the hotel and the lobby were rather shabby. The check-in was efficient and the staff were friendly. I was upgraded to the club floor. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. The bathroom was spacious and very clean. The room appeared modern with updated furnishings and plenty of outlets and good lighting. Internet worked well. I visited the club lounge for evening snacks and breakfast. Food and beverage offerings were plentiful and varied. The club lounge itself is due for a makeover. During breakfast, it was surprising how many families were there, instead of the typical business crowd I would have expected. It made we question how these families came to be on the club floor and what the Sheraton brand really means these days.
I stayed here for an extended period of time due to needing to be closer to my job during the pandemic. The staff is all lovely and treated me well. They respected all social distancing guidelines and understood that healthcare professionals might have weird check in/out times. Thank you for all you did for us!
Love the bed and the quiet
My family and I stayed at the Sheraton University city for a tour of Drexel university. I liked the closeness to the University within walking distance. The Hotel was nice looking inside and outside. The only thing was the parking. You had to park in the parking garage cause there was limited time allowed to park on the street. But that was a good thing I guess $35 wasn’t to bad compared to having to constantly feed the meters.
Bring your own pillow.
Average 3 star hotel.
Super staff! Every associate was pleasant and helpful. The room amenities were great. Comfortable bed and pillows. Fairly quiet AC. The bathroom had some cleanliness issues, and the sink and shower did not drain well. The bedroom was missing one of two lightweight privacy curtains behind the blackout curtains.Overall, a very pleasant stay. We would return again and would recommend this hotel.
The front dest was wonderful and housekeeping was the best!
Clean and very hospitable. Everyone is kind and lite hearted in spite of the pandemic. Kind of wished the pool and fitness centers were open but I understand the nature of the situation. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, I really dont have any complaints about this place
I brought my daughter and her friend to Philadelphia for a college tour and I’m so glad i found this Sheraton on the college website. The location is amazing - right in the middle of the Penn and Drexel campuses with a charming “restaurant row” in converted brownstones only a block away. The hotel staff members made us feel welcome right away. They gave us a walking map and list of restaurants, and helped us find a great restaurant with gluten free options. My daughter and her friend enjoyed the outdoor pool, and were excited that it was open until 10 so they were able to go back after dinner. The room was small (typical of a city hotel) but it was laid out well so it didn’t feel tight, even with 3 of us. The beds and pillows are a-MAY-zing! Seriously, next time I need a new mattress, I’m going straight to the Sheraton website! All 3 of us had a fantastic sleep, which can make or break a trip. Another highlight was that we were able to check out in the morning but keep our car in the garage after checkout. This enabled us to walk over to the college tour & not worry about finding city parking. Also, the club level had a really impressive breakfast spread! We had eggs, fresh berries and melon, and juice. Overall, a great stay!
My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay while visiting colleges. It was conveniently located, the beds were very comfortable, the room was clean, there were nice amenities on the room, and the WiFi worked well. We would definitely stay here again the next time we visited Philadelphia.
It was nice but a lousy parking
Clean. Kind. Attentive. I have stayed here multiple times for work conferences and they exceed my expectations every time. They are constantly going above and beyond to make sure our stay and meetings go as smooth and pleasant as possible. The location is great and is in walking distance of many delicious restaurants, shopping and parks to walk/run. If you feel like staying in there is a large, amazing, authentic Asian restaurant off the main lobby. I get excited to see when our meeting are held here- I would absolutely recommend it!
I had a great day the rooms with extra clean and it was a very nice experience
Beautiful hotel with awesome restaurant inside
Beautiful hotel..staff was great....just didnt like that we must pay $35/nite to park.....
The friendly staff and service is second to none. The location would have only been better if the whole city would have been in the hotel. The restaurants and attractions, along with the proximity to transportation was excellent. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The view of the city from the room is excellent. Within walking distance of most things, but transportation was always only minutes from the front door.
