One of my favorite intimate venues. I came here for a deep house show recently (Feb 2018) so I cant speak for their club nights and any other events. The layout makes for great views throughout the venue. 3 different bars makes getting a drink easy. The crowd at least when I went seemed more mature and therefore less rowdy and chaotic. Clean bathrooms, great tickets prices, and fantastic ambiance. Highly recommended!
This club is by far my favorite club in Philly, perfect small but not so small lol venue the owner Mario is such a vibe, AMAZING sound system, amazing tech house events, i can’t wait to visit Philly again this summer.
It was nice! I had an amazing time at my concert! The sound system was cool the area was nice. The staff were weird/ uncoordinated, but other than that it was really cool time and I do plan to go back.
Went here for new years. It was fun. On that specific night, the bar tenders seemed pretty rude. But it may just have been because it was new years. Unfortunately that was my only experience, so that is all I have go to with, and it was not a great experience. The price to get in was also not consistent with what was advertised. We had to pay more that we expected. I wish it was a better experience. I would give it another chance though.
Enjoyed Coda Nightclub very much. The music was good from the start. They played a variety of music. The crowd is a good crowd. I had no issues. I love the variety of people. I danced with guys of different nationalities. The bathroom was well stocked and clean. Only downside is the drinks were a tad bit pricey. But the drink was very good and I got a quick buzz. Ill be visiting Coda again!
As an actual music artist who played there multiple times, and not a jaded half-drunk imbecile, I must say Coda is my favorite nightclub in Philadelphia. Other nightclubs have given me so much trouble, stolen things from my friends, etc. But Coda has never given me one ounce of trouble. The workers are respectable and serious about their job, and the management books the best variety of artists. In my experience playing at Coda, I was treated like an actual artist and not like a second-class citizen (like some other Philly clubs which I prefer to not name). Through Coda Ive been able to meet countless amazing artists and connections, and I cant see why anyone would rate this nightclub less than 5 stars. Trust me on this.
Great venue to see your favorite up and coming artist. Staff is friendly, bathroom attendant is the man! Crowd is usually very cool and friendly, this isnt a douchey club. My favorite spot for good house music in Philly, also a haven for the bass music fans. Been coming to coda for a few years now and its my go-to for a good show and a night out.
Miss this venue dearly I had some of the best times of my life here
Awesome venue. fair prices. friendly staff. Helpful and not overly aggressive security personnel.
Not my style of music but thats my personal opinion. But if I was into it I would have loved it. Great atmosphere and great staff. Customer service is great!
Awesome venue. The owner, Mario is the best. Great show!
Small venue but very clean environment, bathrooms as well. They dont allow drinks outside of a specific restricted area. Draft beer = $5. Not too bad. Great music hall to have a good time with friends!
Decent venue! Good drink specials, coat check and general admission allows you to get up close and personal with your favorite artists. The only disconcerting thing is how badly the floor bounces when everyone is dancing. You just have to believe it wont collapse!
Hands down my favorite club/venue in philly. Always a great time, staff is great, drinks are strong, acoustics in the place are amazing, and Ive never not had a great time when I go there. Its the perfect size venue to catch your favorite artists performing and the open bars they offer are always great and affordable for what you get out of it. The inside of the place is very clean and modern compared to most other venues and clubs in the city. I have nothing but good things to say about Coda, I love this place,
The best experience of my life. Dance floor is huge! No food is sold at this establishment. But McDonalds is right next door.
Probably best night life venue in philly. They do a really good job bringing a lot of musical talent to the nightlife scene here. The fact that this club stays open past 2am makes it an easy decision every time.
Great place to see small indie artists. There is a section bar that you cant get to the dance floor if you are holding a drink. So you are trapped if you want to drink and listen to artists at the same time.
This place is so hard to find. I think they close their doors early too which isn’t right. Worst nightclub ever.
Music is great but make sure you wear something convertible on Your feet because they are no chairs nor tables. But everything else it was a good experience 👌🏼
Perfect small concert Venue! If your favorite artist hasnt rolled through here, they have never been on the come up! Saw Alina Baraz here and the atmosphere was amazing. Great lights as well. Only gripe was the speakers screeching when the mic moved passed it.Have a couple drinks and get ready for a good time at Coda.
This place is terrible. Currently here for Super Bowl party. Total disorganization resulted in people stuck in line in the cold and rain for hours to try to get in. Now, they wont let people leave to smoke. Maybe its good as a club but they need to stop hosting special events until they can figure out how to do it properly
Its a club just like any other. Depending on the night youll have a full house but other times it can be dryer then my hair in the winter. Its all about who the attraction or the date. Such as Hollows eve, New years, Cinco de mayo... But I mean lets be honest, if your goal is to dance with a sweaty stranger and attempt to do the horizontal tango with them after the club. Your at the right place.
Cool lighting. I wasnt fond of the few events I went to see. Bought expensive tickets but forgot my ID and had to bribe the security... like really?
Terrible sound system. Was there for Black Coffee performance, I feel bad for him. Hes a great DJ but the sound quality was so bad, I wasnt the only person talking about it. This venue needs to invest in upgrading or fixing the problem.
It was okay. Supposed the be the hottest club scene in Philly right now...I beg to differ. I requested bottle service at the front door but the bouncers said there was a 4 bottle minimum for only 4 people. Thats just crazy.. so the manager comes down to say he can do a 1 bottle minimum like hes doing us a favor. We paid 325 for a bottle of SKYY vodka....cheapest vodka.. with barely any service at the table we had, but gave themselves a $75 tip...for them to pour 1 drink? does this make sense to you? Way overpriced, There nothing special about this place except for the DJ. There was awesome music. A mix of everything.
The perfect small venue for concerts. Felt like I was in the action the whole time
It was very nice and clean. The atmosphere was on point, I was actually there for a concert.
One of my favorite places in philly for a fun night out with the girls. If you want a real nightclub experience, check out Coda. Its open late too. I think until 3am. They always have great DJs and entertainment.
Had a great time with some friends. Went on thier 2nd anniversary and they had open bar + admission for $14. I was skeptical but it was great! Well drinks of course but only $14 for 2 hrs open bar and music and dancing hard to beat. I havent been back on a regular night and Im sure it would be more expensive but the first experience was definitely a good one.
After hours. Not a bad club. Not crazy loud and there are sections far from the speakers when you can hear who you are talking to.
Nice little spot. Good view of the stage from the bar and right in front, but harder to see further back.
My first time going and I had a blast, the bouncers were sweet and nice, the drinks were very good, the music selection was something that everybody could dance to. I would definitely go back, great vibe!
A very refreshing and unique variety of music artists in a very fun festive atmosphere! I also like how incredibly clean they keep this place even during the shows.
Reeked of BO and had a guy mopping the dance floor all night. I know theyre trying to keep the dance floor from being sticky but it came off as a generally gross and seedy. This place used to be classy but now its full of trash. Hope I never have to go there again.
A great bar/venue to see someone play. Awesome lighting, good vibe, acoustics pretty good, though not amazing, and reasonably sized floor. Coat check for the winter is a plus. Only real complaint I have is that while entering the event, I overheard the bouncer checking IDs turn away a girl who was by herself. He yelled at her very aggressively and said she was drunk, though she was not obviously drunk. She said she had only had two beers and asked if he wasn’t letting her in because she wasn’t wearing makeup like the other girls. He continued to yell at her aggressively until she eventually walked away. It was really unnecessary and both my friend and I were pretty shocked and wanted to do something, but didn’t know what to do or say that wouldn’t also get us kicked out. The two women in line in front of us were also shocked and said they also wanted to say/do something but didn’t know what. Overall, it was a pretty unpleasant experience that may or may not be representative of their bouncers/management.
Pretty good venue to dance. Usually a 10-15 min wait but overall a nice place. Good.music
The decor needs an upgrade. Not a classy vibe, but fun, good crowd
Loved having the opportunity to work with you and your team for the honor of photographing my favoritdjn#claptone
Went to see a couple of dj and danced the night away. Multiple lvls so you dont get tired of the view. Sound system was not great but good. Better than a lot of others that Ive been to
Good spot..they need to invest in a better sound system
This is the place that employs bouncers that have no professionalism or self control. If you dont know what Im talking about just Google Bouncer knockout in Philly. It seems from the reviews that this club has a reputation for employing thugs. I would avoid at all costs.
If you go on a night with a good DJ/event, it can be one of the best nights youll ever have. Great venue, great people.
This was our first experience at Coda and we will not be returning. A group of 15 of us purchased tickets from Upcoming Events for the Halloween Party being hosted at Coda. Half of the group showed up ~9pm and were able to gain entrance to the club. At ~11pm the remaining half showed up, waited in line for over an hour, and when they reached the front were told that their tickets were invalid and Coda would only be accepting tickets purchased from another site. We all purchased tickets from the SAME site. The issue isnt the money. Its the fact that you cannot get that time back and that it ruined Halloween plans. Coda has yet to resolve the issue or compensate the parties for their wasted time and money. Upcoming Events has contacted those people who were denied entry and stated that Coda permitted them to sell 200 tickets, but were unprepared for that number of people and it resulted in their customers being turned away. They are following up with compensation. In summary, this kind of service is unacceptable and no one from our group will be returning to an establishment that is disrespectful of peoples time, money, and has yet to take responsibility for their poor service.
Nice place, friendly staff. First time there for the classic old school jam, Dj OK, but was not playing what I thought was old school music and he wouldnt take any suggestions. Had LL COOL J & Salt & Pepper as advertisment but DID NOT play one if there songs. FYI look @ the crowd & see what keeps them on the floor Mr. DJ!!!
Good margaritas and good food
Good bar, good shows. Drink prices arent horrible for a club in the city.
Worst place ever. I never had such a horrible experience between management, security, coat check staff... It was such an embarrassment. Theres no wonder why theyre failing as a business. The open bar isnt even worth it when they only have one bartender working it and shes rude. Plus they are extremely sexist making the females wear booty shorts yet the guys are allowed to be fully clothed. Been there 3 times and each time my experience gets worse, never again! Save your time and money and go somewhere else.
Lots of space and good djs. The drinks tasted liqourless, but it was good.
Completely Disrespectful & Vile.My friend and I had bought tickets here to watch the Eagles play Super Bowl 52. She was coming in from Tampa to support the Home team so we wanted to do something in the city. We came across Codas Super Bowl Party which including a 5 hours open bar and food for $85, which looking at other places for Super Bowl parties was a pretty decent price. The night started off pretty well when we got there, choice of food was the bare minimum, especially for myself who doesnt eat meat I was stuck between celery and tortilla chips. The night goes on, the bartender was friendly and it didnt take us long to get drinks. Towards the end of the 3rd Quarter of the game things started to go down hill rather quickly. One of the bouncers must had gotten into an altercation in another area of the club because he pretty much almost walked through me. Bouncer had to be a least 63-64, muscular, overly inflated with testosterone. I said Whoa, watch it you almost took me out, there are females here he told me to watch my mouth and mind my business. So i replied I was minding my own business before you plowed me over, relax just say excuse me thats when he decides to come for me grabs me by the back of my shirt and shoved me through the crowd to literally force me out of the venue. At this point my heels are dug into the floor and its slippery to the point where i slip and now Im on the floor being pushed and yelled out to get up so he can continue to remove me. I continued to sit on the floor, because i did nothing wrong. The owner comes over and begins to yell at me telling me I have to leave, and i refuse because I still dont understand why I needed to be removed. The owner tells me that his staff comes first, which completely counteracts the customer is always right service. its more of a take action, ask questions later type of establishment. Im thankful there was another bouncer (calm & level headed) who was there & heard/saw what happened between Capt. Steriods & myself and vouched for me saying that i didnt do anything wrong and just asked to say excuse me before being trampled. The game now being nearly over the owner so graciously (heavy sarcasm) allows me to stay in a scolding, Im doing YOU a favor demeanor. I would never recommend this establishment to anyone, especially females, it seems that a lot of reviews are from other women having alterations with male bouncers, if that doesnt scream RED FLAGS, idk what does. Trash, straight trash.
The security think they run the place. My sister witness a bouncer inappropriately gripping women up and grabbing them in the wrong places and bringing them to a place where theyre hidden. If you report that you witnessed a sexual assult, they act like you did something wrong and want to kick you out right away. She asked to speak with the owner and wasnt allowed to. She never made contact with the owner, so Im not sure how he would react to this I cant comment on that. This place is obviously not safe especially for women. The security is disgusting, and other staff that go along with them. For the safety of the guest who do go here, something needs to be done.
Its not a nightclub - its a group of loosely connected greedy promoters, bartenders and club owners who have no idea how to run a place like that. Everything is low quality and everyone is extremely untrained. The bouncers were extremely rude and disrespectful. Good that we left because I heard someone was knocked out by a bouncer that night. The place should be on the ban list by the FBI and owners arrested/put out of business. Well, the beer was good though
Late night cover is expensive. Looks like its been a struggle to fill the place at times. Special events are good and new years was a lot of fun.
Great venue that caters to all kinds of electronic music.
Really great, would have been better with a larger crowd
“Head” of Security told us we have to move from the area we were standing in. When we Asked why he said “because I’m head of security”. So, we left. I guess he thought we would get upset and make some type of commotion so, he can put on a show. Sorry big guy, I don’t do drama.
Theres a man in bathroom that hands you a towel. Thats classy!
Small place but makes for a great show.
Great place to catch Djs house music Etc. Loved the atmosphere
Fast bar service. Clean restrooms. But the floor was a bit scary. It felt as if we were going to fall through. Not at all sturdy. Loud music alone made the floor tremble.
Hip venue, Great staff, but management not totally up front with the talent.
Pricey and not the best events, hemorrhaging money.
Great music venue. I saw Mason perform there.
Excellent place for electronic music. Nice djs coming to town play here.
I have never had a worse nightlife experience in my young adult life and my friends and I dont plan on coming back to this establishment. How they dealt with the unexpected crowd was extremely unprofessional. 1. If you allow different sites to sell tickets to your event, then you have to honor them. Thats plain and simple. I had friends who got in with THE SAME TICKETS I had and then my other friends and I are told our tickets are invalid/fake/expired?! NOTHING on the ticket said we had to be in by a certain time and all the emails told us our tickets were good for the entire night. 2. If you know a decision you make will make a huge population of the crowd angry, then dont aggravate them further by being rude. The bouncers we talked to and dealt with were extremely unsympathetic and were rude and mean. Overall the night was a complete bust and Coda has taken no responsibility in the matter.
Love it! The battle between Michael Jackson and Prince was awesome! DJ was banging!
Great sound system and drinks
Subpar venue. Strange set up with unhelpful staff. I would recommend choosing a different venue if you are booking shows in Philadelphia as this place has kept me (and others) away from shows Id otherwise go to. Check out the Dolphin for DJs and boot and saddle or Johnny Brendas for small band live music shows.A stellar and concrete example of how this place is unfriendly is that at a recent show, they closed the bathroom immediately at the end of the show in an effort to push people out to flip it for their douchey dance crowd.
Coda definitely has a cult following..for a good reason - such a good atmosphere and venue, great artists, fair drink prices, and timely service.
This is a great place to go with friends and good music too, they bring different djs so its music for everyone
Saw a great documentary there, nices bars and very friendly staff
Pretty nice club. Lacking sound in the back kinda weird VIP tables. Other then that what you expect.
Nice place, but the upstairs is never accessible. Only, and ONLY when its shoulder to shoulder packed is it open...whats up with that.
Nice size venue, clean. Hardly any seating, not allowed to smoke inside. Drinks are nothing special, but they get good acts on occasion
Private party... so I dont know what a typical Saturday night would be. But what I saw was fantastic!
Fantastic place, love the environment. All workers were nice and respectful.
Cant find it. Locals say its closed
On the smaller side as far as a dance floor is concerned also the floor tends to shake/shift when everyone is dancing. Rather unsettling.
Great venue and Maya Simone is a star!
Terrible venue can’t drink anywhere but the roped off box...it’s a joke. Go somewhere else
Only been here for private events but the staff is awesome
Pretty average club loved the second guest Dj.
Had a good time. The crowd was a bit weird...
One of the best clubs iv been to
Fun place good djs
If you want to end up murdered or brain damaged this is the place for you! Theres a big shrek ape on the door that specializes in aggravated assault, I hope he ends up back in prison
Saw snoop DOG and the party was then most hizappeningest. He was DeeJaying under the name DJ SNOOPADELIC. Friendly staff
Boring design and overpriced drinks. Did not even turn aircon for the night
Great acts and dancing. Not a rave atmosphere.
Nice venue, only issue is parking isnt very close.
Love this place! Great shows and a good crowd!
The bouncer was extremely unprofessional. I had VIP service and he insisted I get in the back of the regular line without even asking who I was with. He was extremely rude, and I finally requested Chris and was allowed to go in. Also, the male bartender at the bar closest to the stage was extremely unprofessional and denied me water because I hadnt ordered a drink from him... Despite the fact that we had bottle service. Extremely disappointed in the male staff here.
Did body painting for a private party. Staff was so helpful and courteous!
Great DJs Fun Crowd!!!
