Had a family style dinner/banquet dinner at Asian palace with 7 others. The food from the chef was amazing to say the least.
I had a great time eating delicious food at this restaurant. Great service and were friendly. There parking. Inside is very pretty. Super clean . Servicer, she was super sweet. Everything was good. Our new places to go ! I was impressed!
My Weekend devours walked with me to @asianpalacerestaurant ; located on the NW corner of 20th st and Oregon Ave. this is a very huge establishment hosting catering events such as weddings, graduation parties, and etc; while also hosting a full restaurant that’s fully furnished and decorated with lovely flowers 💐 and vines. The lighting it perfect for all dates and pictures. The server was very young and very nice and well educated about the two menus that were being served. She was very helpful throughout the night and continuously checked up on the status of the dinner 🍽. They had both a Asian 🍱menu and a full seafood 🦞 menu. Their drink menu is very diverse with over 10 cocktails and over 11 imported beers. All of the food was ordered from the seafood menu by which the front of the menu had its simple yet really affordable appetizers. On the back of the menu is where it got good 👀🙌🏼. On the back of the menu what is the amount of steamed seafood you can order along with all of their signature sauces. They also serve three different combos of Seafood boil’s. First order was the fried calamari that was served with spicy duck sauce, which was really good and tasty. However, the fried calamari didn’t really hold any competition with the salt and pepper fried shrimp 🍤 that was ordered next. The salt and pepper shrimp were full size prawns 🦐 with the heads still attached on them. They were fried to perfection yet being fried with the shell still on them. Yet, That didn’t matter nor did it stop me from devouring the whole prawn 🦐🤷🏻♂️😋. Next was steamed shrimp in they’re very spicy Cajun sauce; and the Steamed Dungeness crab legs 🦀 served in their signature medium hot Cajun sauce. Both were very juicy and FULL of flavor. The bid and gloves served no justice AT ALL 🤷🏻♂️🤣😋. If you find yourself in the south Philadelphia area and wanting seafood that’s not expensive and a really kool date/celebration spot! Go check out @asianpalacerestaurant and the delicious seafood creations that are served there! Oh yeah tell them Shimmydevours sent you! #celebration #asian #calamari #shrimp #dungenesscrab #cajunfood #beer #bar #food #foodie #foodphotography
The food was delicious, be aware that there is a 15% rate increase.
The staff was very attentive and courteous from the moment I walked in. Cup was filled at all times but without the creepy hovering you see at some places. The interior decor is beautiful and definitely sets a mood. I ordered the Four Seasons combo and it was exquisite. Everything was hot and fresh. Will definitely be returning.
As soon as we sat down we were bombarded by the staff member. They would not stop asking what we wanted to drink without even giving us a proper menu with the drinks. Not to mention the fact that they tried to list off the drinks instead of giving us an actual menu. One of our cups were dirty too. The food takes so long. It makes you feel like you’re being ignored and that you’re unimportant to the staff. We asked for spoons and they never came. It don’t take this long???? I’m pretty sure they forgot about my drink. We had to remind them and order again. Also they kept mixing up our orders with the other table. How hard is it to put numbers on tables to be more organized. We had to give up on our food since it was taking so long. In fact they didn’t even write it down. Why are they so unorganized????? The only redeemable thing is that the place is pretty. For all this trouble you would think the food is spectacular. It’s not. It’s mediocre at best. Even one of the staff ignored us when we tried to ask about our food. The Vietnamese milk coffee was lukewarm and was most likely made from an instant packet. We ordered chicken curry yet all we got was a pile of onions. I would like to compliment the chef for making a interactive meal ☺️☺️☺️☺️ Great for kids 5 and younger they’d love to dig through the onions just to find a shred of chicken. I’ll see that meal in the please touch museum. It’s so overpriced too. They might as well have just robbed us. This place is a literal fireplace for money. I might as well have gone to my local Chinese corner store. At least that food is good and comes within a 15 minute time period. Horrible customer service we ain’t coming here anymore. 👎👎👎👎👎

Our chefs, trained in classical Asian cuisine, deliver the superb and sophisticated fare that has earned Presidential’s Montgomery County catering its reputation forquality and styleSouth Philly ReviewWith a refined demeanor stemming from her Parisian upbringing, Estelle Nguyen possesses a very vibrant personality that she enjoys displaying in the hope of making others’ contentment comparable to hers. That zest for life has mostly become apparent through her overseeing the Bella Vista-situated Anhdep Studio at which she and husband Vandy Do offer wedding decoration assistance, photography and videography. Since early October, the proprietors have meshed the enthusiasm that comes with enthralling people set to take the marital plunge with an affinity for food as the owners of Asian Palace.“We have had a very happy identity so far,” Nguyen said. “We are in a special neighborhood, and people are reacting well to our menu items and us, too.”As a combination of the bride’s unbridled pleasantness and the groom’s grand admiration for promoting Asian plates, the destination has lately enjoyed status as an aesthetically inviting haven and a nutritionally exciting peddler of Chinese and Vietnamese favorites, with an expansion of their offerings, not to mention springtime deck dining, in the immediate future.“No matter your culture, you want reliable food choices, and Asian meals can be those, especially if you are open to trying new things,” Nguyen, whose 150-seat site has begun to win regard as a spot for large gatherings, including the recent Cambodian Association of Greater Philadelphia Winter Celebration, said of her appreciation for filling meals, honed by delectable experiences while living in the French capital city. “We wanted the look to be warm and comforting, too, especially if people want to have parties here.”Married for 10 years, she and Do have found that while dealing with the added pressure of operating a second enterprise, they have grown tighter as a couple and have come to appreciate even more the opportunites to share thoughts and ideas.“We like applying ourselves in different ways to grow as people,” the latter individual said of the location, whose Facebook page touts it as providing a “wondrous presentation of the tantalizing spectrum of Asian flavors.” “So far, that has meant good news for us.”Receipts have regularly featured their brainchild’s Seafood Bird’s Nest, leading the locals to share its recipe.“Oh, the customers absolutely love it,” Nguyen said. “There are just so many flavors bursting through, and it’s fun to try the bird’s nest first because if you do it right, it will be very crispy and delicious.”
Great service fresh food went for my bday. The server took care of my family she talked to us and played with my son. I will go back.
Definitely a favorite spot to eat. Hosted my husbands Birthday party last year and the service and food was phenomenal. I pre-ordered about 200 worth of appetizers for 10-15 people and everyone was stuffed off of that. We literally had 5 to go containers of leftovers too. The staff are always amazing and friendly. Total hidden gem in south philly.
Nice quiet dinning experience, waiting staff is quite attentive, enjoyed the food.
Food is wonderful and the service is exceptional . A nice place to go for a special family celebration
I’m so glad I gave this place a try- first experience upon entering was already a positive! Service is on par and food is delicious, within a fancy, friendly and romantic atmosphere. This is my go to spot when I crave fresh Lobster with ginger and Scallion, clams with black bean sauce, and salt n’ pepper squid!!! The food is awesome and I will definitely be back again. I love this place ❤️❤️❤️
Lovely very accommodating food was great!
Expensive,but food always amazingly delicious
Placed a Yelp review on this place and thought that more people needed to see what I had said so here it goes:Terrible place to patronize your money towards. Great food I admit but service was not good. Every dish was expensive than what you would expect in good old Chinatown. Decor was amazing but attitude didnt match up. Went to a dinner party and was served warm soda and small glasses of water. Chairs needed replacements. Absolutely no music whatsoever. I get that it might be in the interest of other diners but we had a private room. Also a corkage fee was tacked on to the bill even though no alcohol was involved, waiters didnt give any more ice and glass, and it was just for 2-2 liter sodas from the acme across the street. We understand - buy the soda and alcohol from your restaurant, but you have to reduce your outrageous prices. And the 20% gratuity? How insulting. This place will drain your wallet faster than buying a brand new luxury car.
Asian Palace, very nice hospitable atmosphere, excellent Asian food with variety. Might improve with more service staff. Have added seafood combinations that increases appeal, plus an accommodating bar service. The addition of television screens around the restaurant cheapens and distracts from the ambiance. Parking readily available and restaurant is just a stones throw from the Philly Sports complex.
Our 1st. time there, and it was just fabulous! Our host she was simply excellent as was the manager...I shall tell my friends, and fellow Police Officers. We will return indeed. This place is unique all around. 120% for certain.
The service was outta this world!! The lo mein was to die for BUT the seafood was the worst I’ve ever had the sauce in the bag was bland and everything was over cooked.. I’m thoroughly unhappy and I now understand why they have no wait or customers .. next time I’ll go to Ruby’s buffet or stick to the shake seafood
My family and I came here for the fist time tonight, we left with full stomachs. Great Chinese/Vietnamese fine cuisine with the a smooth atmosphere. This family is quite picky, but we left very satisfied, recommended if youre from around here and from out of town. My family and I will definitely be back to try more good foods.
Chinese food, mmm, so fresh. Filled me up in no time. The service here is better than most. Prices are fair I would say.
Ive been here a number of times already since Asian palace opened and every time Ive been here its a great experience. The atmosphere is beautiful. The food is awesome. The staff is good, my only complaint about the staff is that some dont speak good English. The price is reasonable and always have leftovers to take home. One great thing too is that there is parking. Definitely worth going. Enjoy!
Best asian food in the city.
My husband and I recently had our wedding here the past weekend and what can I say, this place is absolutely amazing and modern!! From the greeting room, reception room, cake, and decorations, everything was magical, beautiful and just perfect. Our guests couldnt stop talking about how delicious the food was, how extravagant the place look and how much fun the wedding was! We would highly recommend this place to our friends and family who are planning anything, thank you, thank you for such a wonderful experience!!! Also, Estelle and her hyper, ecstatic personality makes wedding planning very fun!! She really takes care of you and decorates everything just the way you want it and more!! 😊😊♥️
My Fiance and I hosted our Bridal Reception here for my side of the family and to honor our Asian traditions. Estelle and her team decorated the restaurant beautifully. It was elegant, modern and romantic. We live out of state which could have been difficult but she was always available through phone and text. When we arrived everything was done and we just needed to change into our outfits. The food was fantastic and our guests commented on how they thought it was one of the best banquets they have had in awhile. Thanks for making this so easy and helping us create such a great memory!
Amazing service and great food. Definitely will go again.
They only had half of the items on their online menu and even ran out of most of the items on their menu in the restaurant. Service was slow and out of order where we got some entrées before the appetizers. Food and atmosphere was good but didnt meet our expectations due to the service. Also the bathroom didnt have any soap or paper towels so hopefully that was corrected quickly.
Beautiful decor. Unfortunately, waitress didnt know menu items and egg foo young was bland. House fried rice had SPAM in it. What asian restaurant uses this?? Only this one.. So sad..so much potential..
Food was excellent atmosphere was amazing thank you is all I can say
Ok spot for delicious chinese food. great hospitality. the service here is above par. the place has a cool atmosphere. menu is like a place in san francisco i loved.
The food was meh.The place was nice. But in what kind of restaurant charges a gratuity tip fee. I felt cheated and taken advantage of because I had a table for two.
I liked asian palace restaurant because my favorite food and test really good.
Double check your bill, they overcharged all the time. Check menu prices/take pic of it, compare to what they charge you on the bill. Soup 2.50 it’s 3.50 on the bill. Small coke for 3.50 per bottle.
Friendly, clean, great food! Nice place for party 35-100 if you need
Service sucks, except for the American girl is very accommodating bend over backwards for other servers mistakes. They dare to charge me for the fried rice dish that they recommended then forgot to order and the owner give to us as a complimentary dish for their mistake. Other tables came after us but got the food before us. We order soup with our dinner and we have to remind them that we ordered it, halfway through our dinner. Really.... Food is ok. I have to be fair the lady owner and the American waitress is really accommodation.
Way better than usual Asian fare.
I just wanted to say how fresh the food was and how nice the people that work there are. I was impressed with the quality of their cooking.
Food was delicious service was kind of slow they need more waiters/waitresses. Celebrated my daughters 30th birthday she loved the variety of food.
Super, Super good, Nice staff, they explain to the first timers and food excellent. I will be coming back.
Fantastic food great ambience. Great staff
The decor, staff, food and drinks were excellent.
Its a pretty good, had seafood boil and some classic Chinese food
Great food, wonderful atmosphere, good service. We had a birthday party for our mom, we enjoy it.
The decor is beautiful, the food is fresh and delicious, and the service is outstanding. They can even make up a dish not on the menu!
Food taste really good, good service
This restaurant has the greatest food and only 2 deserts it was the best it fills up my stomach really fast🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒🖒
Very fresh food. Absolutely delicious
We held a wedding on the second floor, but even before it, the manager was difficult to communicate with. Beer, champagne, and party favors suddenly went missing. The food that WE had brought was being given to the customers on the first floor without our permission. Terrible, sketchy place to hold a reception at. Look elsewhere.
The banquet room upstairs is wonderfully decorated. Wedding food is good.
The best food I have had in a long time.
Good Asian restaurant and also a great place to celebrate your parties!
The food was great but
Good food and service.
Quality Food!!! Money well spent!!!!
A good Chinese restaurant up scaled but is it worth the increase in price...I guess. I still like my little Chinese restaurant, with table service for half the price.
Food is great and well prepared. I took out so the amenities provided eat on were not realized.
Nice owner lady, friendly, easy to get to restaurant
Relaxing atmosphere and very tasty food
Good food
Very nice, yummy food
The best HongKong cuisines in Philadelphia. Trust me
Fun to have weddings and birthday parties
